Haalim (حا لم): The Dreamer by Nemrah Ahmed
Non-review rant
The book is published in two parts. Those who read it from Nemrah's Facebook page, there are 22 episodes published so far. The author page has announced that the last episode will be uploaded in September. However, I feel that my rating may not change, no matter how many further twists are thrown in.
Review

The plot
The story is set in Malaka and the 'time travel' is a a major part of the plot. The second biggest element is 'a country'. The country in this novel is Malaysia, but the political parties, elections, situations, the debates etc can be applied to any country.

The novel revolves around a political leader Fateh and a con artist Talia Murad. Over a period of twenty episodes, the reader learns about the characters, their lives, their pains and fears, their strenghts and skills. Readers also learn how they overcome the obstacles in life.

The novel, for me, is not just a piece of fiction. It tells you, through a very gripping story, to become a strong person.

It teaches us to have faith in destiny and the almighty.

It teaches us to admit our mistakes and move on.

It teaches us to believe in ourselves. Whatever we know, will work for us, even if it seems little and insignificant.

It teaches us to repent our sins whenever we realize our mistakes.

It teaches us that sticking to the righteous path is much easier than we think it to be.

It teaches us about friendship.

And, it is one hell of a love story.

The characters

Talia Murad (Taasha): The protagonist. I like her so much, cuz she is everything that I wanted to be when I was a little girl. She is smart, she is slim, she knows how to dress, she can kill with her words, and on and on.
But, she is still human. She gets her heart broken. She feels betrayed. She doubts her friends. She is so cool. And also, hot.

Layana Sabri (Daatin): The ever-loyal friend in need. One thing I like the best about her is that she is an avid reader. #metoo in the most innocent way, OKAY. And, she is a foodie. #metoo, again :)

Won Fateh Ramzal: Oh my my... If I wasn't a Jihan Sikandar fan, I would have fallen for Fateh. But wait, Faris Ghazi is second in line, so never mind.
Fateh is a politician - the good politician in the beginning but he is shown to have been the victim of the politics too.
Of the many lines and paragraphs that are quotable, my favourite is simple.

"Ek larka aur larki dost ho sakte hain, lekin unn mein si kisi ek ko dusre se mohabbat ho jati hai."

Or something to that effect.

Adam Bin Mohammad: The man who rises from self-doubt to the cool author. Super cool character.

Asra Mahmood (The Evil Queen):
She is the evil queen from Snow White. That's a spoiler.

Ashar Mahmood:
He is Asra's sister. He goes through a sine wave of good and bad. Initially, he is very loyal Fateh fan and works for him. Later, his father plants a seed in his mind that he should fight for the power, and not just be a 'wingman'.

The good

Time travel

Twists and turns

Teaching for life and beyond

The election episode coinciding when there were elections in Pakistan - genius

The cross-over with JKP - Jihan Sikandar is back in chapter 17's end and chapter 18 will feature him. Many readers didn't like the crossover; but I don't mind it.

The not so good

Too many references. The three questions by Leo Tolstoy;

Too many tutorial moments. Every one should vote, importance believe in self, sexual harassment, money laundring, offshore companies, alpha female...

I am not done. More details will be added.

General observations about story and writer
With a new twist and surprise on every page and how her team engages with the readers, is amazing.
Verdict
4 stars.

It’s a 3.5 I think? Or maybe 3.6 I guess. It was really good in the start but then the ending made it so lame. I’ll try to keep the review short and not add many deets (HAAAH. It’ll be long asf. Brace)💀☝️

Plot:
It’s a fantasy novel with time travelling stuff real dreams etc etc. i was very interested and intrigued in the start and the plots in book 1 had me shocked and giggling too. Her real dreams not being symbolic and being real was so shocking especially when it acc happened and I recognized those moments from her dreams. Haalim thingy and her con artist thingy was all soo soo cool. The way they all got together as the house and went thru the door, the writing felt connected and flowed together. Then the qadeem malaqa happened and i was so intrigued. Their journey in the jungle was so fun i loved it and them in Qadeem malaqa was so good too i loved it. Then the marriage part and i was screaming. Anyway. Then they get back and the memory crap etc and they all help blah blah blah. Great. Love it. The plots and unveiling of secrets had me hooked as well. Then book 1 ends and 2 starts. The whole jail thing and blah blah…I was stressed but still interested and then the Jihan thing etc was acc good. I don’t like Jihan but I loved those scenes cuz he matched her intellect and their convos were on the same level yk? Then she gets back and things get fucked and I’m like? THE ACTUAL FUCK. I was so done. After Asra drama it should’ve ended. Somehow or someway it should’ve been solved there and ended. Everything after that was crap and made it all so trashy and here’s why. The author added so much so much drama at the end and I mean small twists are fine at the end but what I mean by that is exposing of secrets or drama that we’ve known since start of the book. Adding NEW drama and then new secrets and exposing those in the last chaps is so tiring and so boring cuz now she’s just dragging it and it felt so dragged, I had to skim and even skip some parts cuz I was so uninterested like tell me why I should care about this? The 6 years crap was so boring and so unrelated to what had happened in the start. It made me feel like we’re back in square one and all the progress made in the story and between the main three characters was just gone. Her and Fateh never had a connection or chemistry and u can’t convince me otherwise. I’m happy that it ended nicely etc but it was so lame in the end cuz like? That whole thing was unnecessary I’m so sorry. The whole 6 years ruined everything cuz it ruined all that had happened and while yes it was good that they all found their paths etc, I hated it for taliya. Idc.

Taliya:
She was genuinely such a cool character and she knows how to use arrow n bows, she threatened someone, put a knife to their throat etc etc. like ok baddie. Her past made me sad cuz baby went thru sm. She was politically strong and knew how to get her shit done and get others to listen to her too cuz she’s authoritative and stubborn and she’s good tooo. She’s good at what she does. She was a con artist and played games well and I was very charmed and like slay girl? Ykwim? That was cool. What you know will save your life and it did safe her life. She always had plans and most of the times they didn’t fail, she’s a badass, the cat burglary with climbing and jumping building etc was so cool im inspired, sneaking and stealing etc. that’s an art too ok? She slayed and she was good at painting. She was cool asf in the start and end too but I think in the end the whole
Love drama kinda made her a little idk softer which is fine she was still a baddie. The whole jail thing what she went thru the ptsd etc I felt so sad for her. She also figured the jail thing out and I was shocked but I was proud of her too. She did everything for Fateh, she worked with him, tried to help him find the fairytale code message answer too, helped him become PM etc etc. she did sm. She did piss me off at times esp when she kept calling Datin fat like I get it we know we get it bro I understand u don’t have to say it every second. Like that annoyed me and tbh she annoyed me a littleeeee too in the start and sometimes she’d get tooo stubborn and I would be annoyed as hell. But she’s a smart girl.

Adam:
He’s so cute and sweet and such a good friend too. Hee wanted her but still wanted her to be happy, always said the truth etc etc. he’s a good character and while I was slightly annoyed at him in the start cuz idek why, his character development was good. I love how he decided to work on himself and expose everyone etc and wanted to speak the truth. He was funny too in qadeem malaka the first time. His character was sweet and just wanted to be wanted and liked. He worked on himself and I think his growth was the most obvious and the best.

Fateh:
I liked him in some points, some dialogues made me swoon too but he also pissed me off. Yes he was good but he was also meh. He didn’t do much to be honest. He was very boring and lame and the only thing he did was yap and give lectures which did work and that was part of his personality but mailka yansofu said he’s selfish which I started to believe. He married Asra only for ariana and he never truly loved Asra from what I gathered to be honest. He was always working and his character development didn’t even exist. He was the same as in the start of book 1 and had the same dialogues ‘I don’t need help’ etc. well u do need it or u won’t be here in this PM office. Taliya helped u Asher helped u ur entire team did but ur a stupid fuck I’m so not sorry. He only cared for ariana and tbh in the start I didn’t even think he loved his kids cuz he was so distant and weird. I know he loves them but anyway that’s what I felt. He kept making promises but never acted upon them. He had a big ego thinking he could do everything alone but got conned by taliya and another person. Ur stupid wan Fateh that’s all. He pissed me off and I feel nothing toward him. He didn’t help anyone except for getting the key both times, both in which he decided to make a deal without telling Adam taliya. While yes he was a good character he was also annoying and pissed me off. No further comments (there’s so many ugh).

Datin:
I love datin. She was so caring and sweet and off we all love a hacker friend and was always there to help her friends (Adam taliya). We all need a friend like Datin. She was loyal asf. I love her.

Adam Taliya:
Guyssss. So cute. I know people don’t ship them or whatever cuz he’s working on himself and whatever but these two were there for each other so many times or atleast he was. I mean she was too when the whole death crap happened in qadeem malaka the second time and taliya did everything for her friend cuz she loves him. He was always there for her helping her no matter what she said or did and always by her side. He’s the real sniper sniper by her side, never left her and stayed loyal. He kept calling her CHAY TALIYA even after 6 years and I loved that he’s still so respectful and sweet. He was her best friend and they both know each other so so well. She knew him so well, knew he didn’t forget the memories and he knew she wouldn’t commit cuz they know each others brains. They were on call talking about crap and they were so cute such a cute friendship. In the start their friendship looked very platonic but then I was like I wouldn’t mind this being turned into romantic cuz friends to lovers would be cute. They spent sm time together and I loved them.

Datin Taliya:
Loved their friendship and they knew each other like no one else. They knew each others tells and hints and code words and etc etc and they are the true crime partners. Had each others backs and cared and worried about each other. Datin making her food as a love language ♥️ Datin helping her out with everything and them being each others saving grace all those years ago🩷 they were mom daughter, sisters, best friends, partner in crime, everything.

Datin Adam:
This was a friendship I didn’t expect cuz it was so cute and cool. It started off as enemies or hating each other but then they started caring about each other and then hung out even without Taliya and helped each other out, trusted each other. Her having coffee at his place after so many years had my heart. It was so nostalgic, them eating and drinking coffee at Halims place all those years ago. Their friendship was funny too, the sarcasm and everything. I missed them.

Fateh Taliya:
Where do I start and how and where do I even end? There’s no chemistry. How about that? There’s no connection. How’s that? Idc about the age gap to be very honest yall. She was born in 15th century, she’s basically 600 years older in a way. But idgaf about that. She did sm for him, she worked for him, helped him win etc etc. and he couldn’t even tell the world she’s innocent in the Asra case? Is he really that selfish cuz he seems like he is. He stayed with her so taliya can solve the Snow White code and tell him about it. Idk if he had ever loved her back then but I don’t care. Some of his dialogues towards her were good and I swooned to an extent. They were so boring together and I did feel the spark between them at some points but at the end I did not give one single fuck about them being together. He hates her first which ok understandable, he marries her them and kinda cares too and He forgets her then. Then he’s like oh I feel smth between us which was a good part or whatever I love how he was worried when she was in jail etc and went to her house I loved that but then idk what happened he just became so lame and trash. He thinks he needed no one but what about her who was there for him every moment? To help him remember cuz she knows how to keep promises. He can’t keep promises, the only times he did keep promises was when he got the key two times in Qadeem. His ego about not needing anyone etc pissed me off sm oh my lord and they barely had any good scenes together. I’m so fucking done. They did not act like husband wife ONCE. Didn’t even mention that they are married. The ending was so fucking stupid? She gets back after 6 years and if my husband had been lost and comes back I would loose my fucking shit, I’d flip the world and get to him. No. Fateh was like ‘u want tea’ BITCH. Freak out. Defend her. Get ur girl back. He acted so nonchalant and it pissed me off. Like ur not THAT old but u can die. She wanted him sm and u could see from her povs and her feelings and while yes he cared too and there were moments in his povs too…..idk but he still lacked smth and i was so fucking done everything like pls just shut the fuck up. I’m so done with him. I’m some moments I liked him but mostly I was pissed cuz what are y even doing? Stupid asf. And then the whole divorce thing when she got back 6 years later. That was another stupid shitty drama. That got solved in the last episode and by then I was already done. Like bitch.

Overall:
The starting was good and the plots about her being Tasha etc every in Qadeem was so good. The last was so stupid and didn’t connect and flow with the writing. It had no connection to anything and made me feel like I’m in the start of the book again cuz it was new stuff all over again instead of fixing old drama. Fateh Taliya ending up together so late and all that happening in the last few episodes had me pissed. If this had happened a little earlier I still would’ve been happy but this was stupid.

So let’s start from the beginning, from the title of the novel ‘Halim’ which means a visionary, a dreamer. Well, a person like me who always get impressed by small creative ideas and who loves to praise others, whether you are a human or an animal or some non living thing. I’ll surely find something aesthetic in you and would not even take a second to praise you. So as I read the name I was like there’ll be surely something really inspiring in it. And when I came across Van Fateh, Taliya and Adam. I found them as my mentor. I learned a lot from them. These 704 pages played a vital role in development of my personality. My ideas and way of thinking have become more diverse in just 35 days. And I think it was my investment on Halim, I spent money on it and gained much more than I spent. A huge profit mayn.
Van fateh taught me that you don’t have to relay on someone for your own need or passion and to achieve your dream. You’ve to believe in yourself and before believing in yourself. You should’ve faith and believe in Allah. Humaray Tuanko. Well obviously there will be someone to help you but that person came to you, because Allah wanted you and him to be with each other. I also learned kai “bai niyazi sai shaanay kaisay uchkanay ha😁. And one has to be very composed in every situation.
Taliyah, shehzadi humari. Her imagination, plans and ideas were beyond our comprehension. Matlab they came idk from which part of brain. Most intelligent character bhae. She was self-reliant con artist but with a pure heart. Or con ka sahi matlab bhi sikha gayi wo mujhy. Aitemad. She faced her reality with dignity. She was really determined in a way, if she wants to achieve something she’ll definitely take high risks. As higher risk leads to higher success. She made me realise kai shayad apko waqae apni zaat ki takmeel kai liye kise ki zaroorat nahi ha likin ek hadd tak. Unknowingly unwantedly you’ll get attach to someone and desire to be with someone. Wo adam or Datin jesay dost or Fateh jaisa shaks bhi housakta ha.
Adam, Mera saathi. I learned tons of thing from Adam and at some places, Adam and I, learned together as well. Honestly at some points I used to relate with him a lot. And that’s the only reason I felt association with Adam, the most. I found him as my mentor and learning partner too. Or haan us nai mujhy yai bhi bataya kai confidence ek aisa skill ha jo ap khud bhi learn karsaktay ha. Hum mei zahanat houti ha bss hum yakeen nhi kartay us pr or agar karlay tw hum behad mutmaeen or khush houjatay ha apnay ap sai. I learnt with him that how to gain confidence in yourself. Or qadeem Malacca mei srf Adam ka dil nhi toota tha mera bhi us becharay kai liye toota tha.
Or most importantly mei un teenou ko ek mushtarka shukriya kehna chahou ge kai unhou nai mujhy waqt kai teen sawalou ka jawab bata diya kai sab sai zaroori cheez humaray liye humara “AJ”ha.In logou nai mujhy sikha diya kai maazi ka ghum or mustakbil ki fikar humay tabah kardeta ha. Or maazi kai ghum ko gallay sai laga kai maatam nhi karna chahaye kyu kai maazi ka har waqia humay mustakbil kai imtehan ki tayari kai liye paish ata ha. Agar ap apni galtiyo or maazi sai seekh jatay hou or seedhi raah pe chalay jaatay hou tw kis baat ka regret? Or “JO HUMAY ATA HA WO HUMARI JAAN BACHATA REHTA HA” or jab tak hum kisi hadsay sai nhi guzray gai tw kaisay seekhay gai or kaisay bachay gai? Accept it,embrace it, learn from it and move on. Right path will automatically come towards your steps.
Likhnay ko tw bohut kuch ha likin agar likhnay bethi tw mazeed lamba houjayega. Or kahee ap bore na houjaye.
Last but not the least, a big thanks to Nimrah Ahmed for writing such meaningful novels wo bhi humari khoobsurat zuban mei. Kitabei bohut kuch seekhati ha likin yai likhnay walay ka kamal or andar ki khoobsurati houti ha kai us kai kaghaz pai likhay huway alfaaz humay seekhnay par majboor kardetay ha. To all the writers out there, you all are phenomenal, ap loug wo ha jin ko hum nai dekha tak nhi houta,na kabhi baat ki houti ha likin wo humay humari zindagi kai kuch eham, baray or haseen sabaq sikha detay ha.” Hum sai kaghaz pai tehreer huway alfazou kai zariye jurnay walay Ustaad”♥️

4.5 stars should be appropriate.

Haalim: a dreamer

The plot is set up in Malaka in Malaysia. The story is very engaging and the major part of the story is based on Time traveling. An amazing combo of suspense, thrill, and romance enhanced the taste of the novel.

As Nemrah Ahmed had already told that she wants a woman should be brave enough to face the problems. A woman should not depend on a man for survival.

So she makes Taliya Murad, the protagonist, accordingly.

CHARACTERS

Taliya Murad:- She is a con artist whose only way of earning is to steal valuable things from people. All though she is a brave, intelligent woman who always has a solution for every problem. She knew everything, how to break locks, how to make a statue, how to paint a picture, how to stole things, how to walk silently like a cat, how to jump the walls, and so on. She has everything a woman want to have.

Taliya ke plans, Taliya ki marzi.
Koi kisi ko nh bachane ata, insaan Apne ap ko khud bachata hai

Van Fateh:- A good politician and a candidate for a prime minister. He imagines Malaysia as a better country. His fascinating, gentle personality had even inspired Taliya Murad. He always uses the lessons of short stories to explain his motive. Well, everyone has to face problems in life and he lost his most loved person...

Jo tumhe karna ata hai, wo hamhesha tumhari Jaan bachata rahe ga.

Adam bin Mohammad:- Adam bin Mohammad belongs to a poor family. He loves Taliya but he believes that he is not capable of her. Adam is described as sacrificing character who always speaks the truth.

Jay Taliya, ap kitaben nh pharhti kiya?
Asli foji hona nakli shehzadi hone see bhetar hota hai.

Layana Sabri (Daatin): Layana is a fat, old woman whose children had left her. She became the friend of Taliya Murad and takes care of her like her daughter. She is a loyal friend and a good caretaker.

Asra Mehmood:- She is the wife of Fateh and the antagonist of the novel.

Van Fateh ko Sirf Van Fateh see Mohabbat hai

Asher Mehmood: He is the brother of Asra Mehmood who worked for Fateh as chief of staff. He is always loyal to Fateh but his father had spoiled his mind to seize power instead of working under someone's command.

The only flaw in the novel is it's length.

Another read, another day appreciating Nemrah Ahmed's writing skills.

After a long reader's block, leaving books half-read. I picked Haalim, and then I forgot to put it down.

I was sure I'll leave the book in the middle as it is too thick and contain some time-traveling magic-type things. BUT I WAS WRONG.

Nemrah Ahmed knows how to jot down perfect characters and plot.

TAALIYA, FATEH, AND ADAM❤

The story revolves around a con-artist Taaliya Murad, a politician Fateh and a body man Adam.

TAALIYA has a God-gifted ability to see true dreams about the future and past (technically). And one dream makes her search for a treasure and here the journey begins.

There are lots of other important characters as well, Datin paduka, Asra Mehmood, Ashar Mehmood, Sofia Rehman, Zulkafli.

Nemrah discusses lots of politics, self-esteem, and self transformational stuff in this book.
I have read Main anmol this year before Haalim. In Main anmol she wrote many self help things that are actually from Haalim. So I find them repetitive.

Some of my fav lines from the book❤

JO TUMEH KARNA ATA HAI WO HAMESHA TUMHARI JAAN BACHAYEGA

RAAZ PURANE HONE K SATH WAZNI HOTE JAATE HAIN

AGAR AP KO AP KA KHWAB DARATA NAHI HAI, TO WO BARHA KHWAB HAI HE NAHI

Overall a fantastic read🤩

This novel includes useless track of “second marriage, divorce & home wrecker”. The only thing which I hate the most! Why the hell on earth Fateh and Taliya tied the knot with each other? The genre of this novel is political thriller and supernatural fantasy but wait the theme includes the divine love story of “The Van Fateh Ramzal” and “The so-called Fangirl” and the divorce of Fateh & Asra. For me it ruined the charm of the novel. The political things, supernatural fantasy and the beautiful lessons are infact the “CHARM” of this novel rather than the marriage and romance between Fateh & Taliya. Why Nemrah Ahmed is doing this? The stupidest track of any novel, tv serial or movie is the LOVE between already married man and an unmarried girl. And this stupidest track also includes the divorce of that man with his first wife and the foolishness & selfishness of first wife. Why the hell on earth second wife is portrayed as SUPREME GODDESS? Taliya gives a little bit of childish behaviour. How ridiculously she says “Taliya k plan Taliya ki marzi and Taliya k pass hamaisha plans hote hain!
So I will give only one star to this novel. For me it doesn’t deserve 5 stars!

A journey through time, a world that you somehow become a part of. From the characters to the setting, the themes and the lessons, Haalim was a wonderful ride that I couldn't wait to get to the end of, yet when it finally did end, I'm left wanting more. Not to say the ending wasn't satisfactory for it perfectly concluded everything. Nemrah Ahmed is a genius of a writer. This is my second read of hers and from what I've known, she has an incredible talent in story-telling, one that grabs you in, making you a part of the journey.
I can't classify this book to a particular genre since it seems to have a little bit of everything - from its twists and turns to the lessons imparted, you won't be let down.

I was a massive Nemrah Ahmed fan after I read Namal but, after reading Haalim, can't say the same. Talia keeps making "racist/colorist" comments towards Datin. She also fat shames her alot. And the writer makes it seem like it is okay for Talia to do it because it's unhealthy for a person to be fat. I get it Talia is not a good person either, but it seems like writer tried too hard to force her opinions on the readers. Unfortunately it came off as "fat shaming" only. And Nemrah Ahmed should stop forcing her opinions on others as I have seen that alot in her novels
Talia does not even face consequences of her actions but, (SPOILER ALERT) she makes other people suffer, Ashar and that "Jadoogar" (forgot his name).
And then there is the most useless plot ever. Talia and Fatih get married, like seriously? And now, as Fatih has married a "main character", his 1st wife has to be evil so the writer does everything to get her out of the picture. And after all the evils Talia committed she got away from it. No punishment for her, typical writing IMO.
The reason I gave 2 rating instead of 1 is that I liked the plot when they went back in time. And the story of them living in the past was pretty cool, something you don't see in Pakistani novels.
The novel would have been better if Talia's character was less cringy, if Fatih and Talia had never gotten married, (Why do main leads have to get married?) And Talia should have gotten her punishment after all the crimes she comitted.

Tldr: I don't recommend this novel

All this hype around the novel made me think that its going to be a story that will be mind-blowing. To say that I am disappointed will be understatement. The story was stretched too long and kept going around in circles without serving any purpose. Taliya was written to inspire girls but her character left a lot to be desired for. I wanted to see more of Fateh and Adam's bond but that dynamic was also left unexplored. The whole Taliya marrying Fateh was the final straw. There was no need of this whole second marriage track in my opinion. In short, it was overstretched story with unnecessary twists and turns.

What a rollercoaster ride this was !!
I'm just amazed at Nemrah Ahmed's ability to create a world with characters that are far-fetched, yet so relatable, and all the while she educates us on important issues ( politics, corruption, sexsual harassment etc) that are prevalent in our society.
Just like JKP this novel too is a concoction of multiple genres from fantasy to mystery to non-stop adventure.
A 5 🌟 read !!!

An amazing novel; full of thrill, suspense, and unexpected events. I like the second part more than the first one.

I bet a reader won't lose his interest until the last page of the book.
At the end of the first part, I have already introduced the characters and their best lines. Overall, it's time travel but also has lots of small morals for one who cogitates.

The characters are amazing. Lots of love for Datin and Adam.

"Haalim" is the masterpiece from Nemrah Ahmed's pen. It is truly an adventurous novel that shows that any person can change their fate by being positive and ready to cope with all kinds of difficulties through the simple principle of retaining forbearance. She painted the character of 'Adam Bin Mohammad' to make an example. She stated about a positive look at the world by painting the character of "Haalim". Through 'Haalim', she painted the new kind of untraditional visionary heroine who doesn't weep in distress but rather faces the hurdles bravely. She is so persistent that she is never disappointed after her one plan's failure. The heroine's failure in one plan cannot stop her. She always has plan A, Plan B, plan C, and so on. So, she gets the fruit of making and succeeding in her plans. That's why, in the end, she lives happily just because of her fighting hard battle.

This is the story of Talia bint Murad, the princess of ancient Malacca. Or is she Tasha bint Murad, a con artist, an art thief, or a time prisoner?

This is the story of Wan Fateh Bin Ramzel. Is he a princess's slave, a prime minister, or a time traveler?

This is the story of Adam bin Muhammad. Is he a body-man, a historian, a time slave, or something else entirely?
After all, who knows?

‣ Taliya bint Murad:
My all-time favorite Heroine ✨. She is the girl I wanted to be when I was a kid. Theif? Really Warda? Nvm. Her mind is wow, she knows how to be queen, the chess queen. The way she rules in Qadeem Malacca is truly amazing. Taliya always has a solution for every problem, if there is none, she makes the solution herself. Oh, but there is a fangirl inside her, a true one. The love story of Fateh and Taliya was so pure (despite the age difference, the writer knows how to make it beautiful). Her adventurous life with a blend of cunning and charisma keeps readers hooked.

Taliya ke plans, Taliya ki marzi ;)

‣ Wan Fateh bin Ramzel:
The mature, intelligent, and COOL protagonist we have. A key player in the story, definitely the one Taliya was fangirling haha. I love their bond.

uwuwuuwwuwu

He was a politician, he used to do politics but always wanted the good of his people and kept his promises. A good politician in the beginning but he is shown to have been the victim of politics too.

Its very lonely at the top....Adam

Throughout the novel, Wan Fateh's character development reveals layers of his personality, motivations, and struggles. He is a Leader, born to lead.

‣ Adam bin Muhammad:
The character development of this man is beyond words. Adam, the innocent soul, was a victim of self-doubt. I love how Fateh helped him to grow his confidence. Though my heart aches for him, ah he is unlucky in love but lucky enough that he become successful in life. He was trapped in fear of the future, of what it holds. How bravely he changed himself, Totally wow.

Would definitely re-read it.

Haalim stands now in my top favorite books.
I'm stunned by the fact that before starting it, how reluctant I was to read this book because of the fantasy and all the time-traveling things but now I'm sad because I've completed it too early.

Enough of my rantings. Let's get to the main point. This book is the second part. In comparison to the first part, I feel that story is very fast-paced and few new characters are also introduced in this part.

Plus Jihan Sikander crossover happens in the middle of the book and I love that❤

There are some major shocks and twist in this part. Nemrah Ahmed has beautifully written the plot and the ending is also pretty good. I never want Adam to ever pursue politics but Nemrah concluded Adam Bin Muhammad's character by making him interested in continuing politics. FATEH AND TALIYA'S end was quite same as expected.

PS: I feel that Fateh Bin Ramzel's character is inspired by Imran Khan. The way Fateh explain everything with a story was giving me the vibes of Shams in Forty rules of Love. The time-traveling part was a little bit similar to the Ertugral Ghazi type.

THAT'S ALL HOW I FEEL AFTER READING IT :))))

So finally it came to an end...two and a half long years probably...My first ever novel I read in episodic form...got spoilers of many episodes...spoiled an episode for my friend...
Haalim will make u cry..will make u laugh..will make u learn importance of relations...importance of helping people putting urself aside...teach u some con (just kidding)...but will surely teach u some life tricks...lot of info though...the best part is how it depicts friendship...it shows that what friends are..they r always rooting for u no matter what...some episides were damn intense..but there were cliffhangers always..
Its sentences just catch u and u end up reading them again and again and not get tired though they r simple sentences we use in day to day lofe but the way they r written it catches one..
All in all it was a good novel. And one of the mysteries I guessed right!

Four months before I get to know about this book through social media and then confirm from one of friend (she said it’s amazing) so I ordered it and start reading.

It took me one and half day reading 600+ pages which was of thirteen chapters and remaining were posted on Facebook page of author with a time interval of 30 days (sometimes) so I read more of chapters from there In next day.

It was 19th chapter where I ended and start waiting for more updates, god only I know how the last four months I spend. Sometimes update came within month and some far from month and near to other.
But long story short; it ended on 4th of September (☹️) the finale was made and I can’t explain the feeling of finishing this book.

All I know is this book deserves massive success, although I have some problems with the dull and plain ending of the novel... but anyways it’s ok.

All I can say is, thank you nemrahahmedniazi for given such a master piece, this book is all we girls needed. The character of Taliya/ Tasha was beyond thoughts and every word of her was inspiring. She inspired me in so many ways that hoe we girls need to cope up with our problems and instead of relying on others keep working.

No leaving names of our both male heroes Fateh & Adam.
God the journey of Adam was truly heroic, how a low self esteem person become the country’s highest journalist+ Author and then move to elections (he find his dream finally)

Fathe’s was like a guide through the journey of haalim. He was the perfect person who knows how to handle problems in life and instead of running away, face them and solve them. His political journey was beautiful and full of lessons and mistakes and redemptions.

This book was so amazing that you’ll love the villain characters, the side characters in short very one.
Asra’s point was too valid as per a person’s perspectives and so did Raja Murad (father of taliya)

Datin (taliya’s friend) god I love her presence so much. A true friend.

In chapter 18 (divided in two parts) I read the crossover about Jihan (from janat kai patai) though some people complain about it but I think it was good thing.

Whole story keep me thrill and always thinking about what would be next and believe me this was the story I was ok if Taliya and Fateh couldn’t live together, because their journey was extraordinary.

Waiting for the volume 2 to have in hands. And once it did, I’ll gonna post a lot of pictures of both books.

Thank- thank you- for this splendid writing and journey of love, magic, time travel, politics and friendship.

My favorite from all obviously taliya (sorry boys) 😂

After multiple recommendations, I finally began my journey of reading Halim. Sadly, the book does not live up to its hype.

First flaw is obviously that the book is 1500 pages. Now, if it had some interesting story development, I wouldn't have mind. But Nimra Ahmed has filled majority of the pages with repetition and unnecessary details.

For example, we as readers know that Talia is a blond. No need to mention in every line that "Talia's golden hair was on her forehead, flying in the air, so on and so on."

Second flaw is over-simplifying things, which makes it appear that Nimra assumes the reader is a stupid person. The audience of this book is I'm sure above 14. Therefore, I'm sure they know what "democracy, Parliament House, and PM house" are. No need to write whole paragraphs on it.

Third flaw is the book's editor. Whoever it is, they have done a shoddy job. I understand that the novel was published episode vise originally but when converting it into book form, they should have edited out the filler content. Or removed all the typos at least because the book is filled with them.

Now, let's talk about the story. Like other Nimra Ahmed books', it was far fetched. Yes the fiction element was good but the "perfect know it all characters", please no. No one can do it all. Further, it makes it difficult to connect with the characters and experience their feelings.

We get an appearance of Jahan in this book but that was also distasteful. I personally was never a fan of him because of his know it all attitude.

This is one major drawback of Nimra Ahmed's writing that the characters are just picture perfect who can do EVERYTHING! But the real life doesn't work that way and Nimra needs to understand that.

Okay, time to wrap up this rant.
Overall experience: 3/10
So, I would never recommend this book to anyone. The story, writing, and characters are not worth reading 1500 pages.

Ok ...meri taraf se 3 stars.
First star: novel ki theme k liye "waqt ka chakar "yeh unique tha ...pakistani novels mai Kam deakhne ko milta hai is tarha ka genre

2nd star: writting k liye ...I love the way nemrah write.....The plot twist and suspense were amazing ...book band kr k 5 min sochna padhta tha k yeh Maine kya padh liya...yeh kya hogya, yeh cheez bhot mazey ki lagi mujhe...

3rd star : ek poora star Adam k liye ....Adam ka kirdar mera pasandida kirdar hai ...adam k kirdar mai sab kuch tha ...usme insecurity thi, carrier ki fiakr uske dost nai the ,phir kis tarha usne dost banaye aur dosti nibhaye bhi ..izzat e nafs ko tarji di khud ko khud banaya..apne aap ko kabil banaya mohabat ki usse dastbardar howa,go k Adam mai sab kuch tha ..Adam mera pasandida kirdar ban gya

1 star :katte ga 2nd marraige plot k liye ...I don't know nemrah ahmed 2nd marraiges se kyu obsessed hain ...yeh plot mujhe acha nai lagta ...mohabat alag cheez hai ..taliya ka crush hona ya van fateh ko crush hona wo alag baat thi but shaadi ?seriously end mai unki shaadi ne sare plot ko dull kar diya ..I don't know but mujhe unka track attract nai kar raha tha pure novel mai ..jaise hi unke scenes ate the sath mai akele mujhe ajeeb lagta tha uncomfortable sa ...khaas kar k van fateh k bachun k samne taliya ka van fateh se milna bilkul bhi acha nai tha ...bache sehi the wo kyu apni Maa ki jagah kisi aur ko accept karte ?

2nd star katta hai length ki wajah se bhot lengthy hai ...end hote hote bore hone lagi thi mai ...mai soch rahi thi kab khatam hoga ..kyu k end mai kuch khaas bacha nai tha ..taliya aur van fateh ki love story bhot boring thi

Mere veiw point se deakha jaye toh Adam ne main lead van fateh ko overshadow kar diya hai is novel mai

Nimrah Ahmed writes this novel after Namal, so characters resembles alot, really, like the characters physical appearance some of dialogues and style was so resembles, in addition writer has related so many things of Dirilis Ertugrul in it in wrap of fiction obviously, I gotta really disappointed by this novel
as Adam is as Ahmer in Namal
As Talia is so Zamur
Fateh bin Ramzael is so relatable to Faris
Abu-Alkhair is like Karatoygar in Ertugrul
Even Tasha and Raja Murad were like season 2 villain in 15 century time span,
So many dialogue are same as in Namal
Obviously both are very different fiction etc but if you are keen reader you can relate these
