Inspired by the story of Beauty and the Beast, four authors offer their sexy interpretations of that classic fairy tale…
A beauty unchained…
For ten years Cora Walker has yearned to return to Blackwood Manor…and to her childhood companion, Gideon Blake. But her dream of returning home soon becomes a nightmare — and the fully grown, dangerously sexy Gideon is nothing like the young man she’d loved before.
A beast unleashed…
Cursed by the monster that killed his family, Gideon sacrificed his heart to protect Cora from the beast that lurks beneath his skin. But when she returns and the curse chains her to his side, he only has two choices: to persuade her to marry him though he has stolen her freedom… or die to save her from the beast within.
Kati Wilde is a tight-lipped, loose-hipped woman of indeterminate age and low breeding. Born into a very large family, she now has a very small family (no laws were broken in this transition), and she writes romantic fiction to assuage her darker urge to write Transformers erotica. She lives in Oregon, so most of you are safely far enough away, and has two old cats.
Kati writes the Hellfire Riders MC romance series and will be publishing her first New Adult novel, Going Nowhere Fast, with Berkley later this year.
About Our Series:
The Motorcycle Clubs series is for romance readers who want all the heat and emotion, but who don’t have all of the time. At this time, we are only publishing novellas — our intention is to provide readers with short (yet satisfying) MC romances. Sometimes we might continue one couple’s story over several novellas, but each individual novella will have a satisfying romantic resolution. Because they are short, we focus the stories on the eroticism and romance, and will be building the MC worlds as each series progresses.

My favourite fairytale is "Beauty and The Beast". I wouldn’t even mind it if the Beast stays a Beast in the end and he does not become a prince charming.
I also love paranormal stories about werewolves. Especially the misunderstood ones.
How could I resist this story?
I didn't mind the cheesy dialogues. I didn't mind the flowery language at times.
I thought that the story is absolutely brilliant and engaging. A nice fairytale with the correct number of pages and the perfect amount of angst.
Coral and Gideon 10 years after their first kiss will have a second chance in love. Cora has to be understanding and Gideon has to set her free to win her back.
They are both virgins, very eager to please each other and there is a beautiful epilogue.
I'm torn between 2 stars and 2.5. So I guess I'll go with 2.25 stars, and round it up to 2. The reason for that is that Beauty in Spring read more like Young Adult than Adult. Both Cora and Gideon felt like two crybabies. They wanted the same thing, but could not speak their minds.
Because, apparently, I have nothing better to do than wait for them to get it on.
And when they do get it on, it's more hilarious than hot.
This is fairly insta-lovey (I mean, they're technically childhood friends who fell in love as teens and have been apart for 10yrs, so take that as you will) and a little dub-con (in the way that most Beauty & the Beast stories are, if you know what I mean), aaaand there's also a scene that might offend those who aren't comfortable with shifter/human sex while the shifter is, er... shifted... So I guess my point is that you should know what you're getting into if you pick this up, but as for me, I thought it was fun and I really enjoyed the bit of a twist on the whole curse and conclusion. I also might have cried a little near the ending, and I feel like the fact that Kati Wilde is so good at getting me attached to characters in so few pages that I get emotional is pretty high praise from me. 💖
This is my first book by Kati Wilde and it definitely left an impression. If you aren't aware, this series is made up of four authors one of them being Queen Rudy Dixon that do their own spin on the Beauty and the Beast. I have to give props to Kati for rising up to the challenge because this is one of the most unique retellings I have ever read. However, I'm not sure if it really delivered. Let's talk about the book first, shall we?
Cora Walker is beckoned home after leaving behind her first love many years ago. She never dreamed that the sweet boy had now turned into some craze man. She finds herself chained to him while he gives her an ultimatum - marry him or fend off the beast. But Cora can't accept Gideon's proposal until she understands what happened at Blackwood Manor.
Yup, this is a retelling with a paranormal twist. Gideon is a shapeshifter. He is cursed by the monster that killed his family and finds himself bound to Cora when she reenters his life. He didn't want this for Cora but now he has no choice.
I really wanted to love this one, but I hated Gideon and Cora together. I hated the dirty talk. I hated their dynamic. I hated that they didn't freaking communicate. Like 50% of this short story could have been eliminated if they actually talked things through. Assuming is such a pet peeve of mine. So much potential here, but it just fell flat.
Definitely a different take on Beauty and the Beast. I struggled a bit with the writing. It was very "flowery". It had an Old World feel to it. And of course Cora got on my nerves some only because I wanted Gideon to get his HEA he deserved and if she had felt for him like she said she did in the beginning, she should have given in sooner! He had suffered enough dammit!
Because Beauty and The Beast is my favorite fairytale story, I decided to just read this series without reading the reviews since I know it's safe for me. The only thing I didn't like much was that they only got together near the end.
The story is about Gideon and Cora.
Her father worked at the Blackwood Manor. She lived there for the first 15 years of her life. Gideon is the son of the owners and they grew up together and made a promise of love. Then her father took him away.
She spent 10 years waiting to come back there. And when they met again, the love's still there but some things had changed.
This is the first book in a four book series. Each book is written by a different author and has a beauty and the beast type of theme.
I jumped right into this series as I do have a weakness for this type of theme. The first instalment was just an ok read for me. It is one of those reads that are not realistic, and seeing as it is a short read we don't get an in depth look into the characters.
I finished in one sitting and I'm hopeful that the next story will be a lot more exciting!
My first read from Kati Wilde also first book in the Beauty series. A dirtier retelling from Beauty and The Beast with a touch of paranormal. Sounds great, huh? Well, it is. At first I couldn't tell which era this story and kinda confused. But everything went down the hill in the end. Boo!
Cora Walker return to Blackwood Mansion and only found out that her childhood friend, Gideon Blake has changed. He's rougher and sinfully dangerous. Cora became his 'prisoner' because of the magical chain who bound her to the house. Gideon has the key to released it but he refused not until she agree to marry him.
Oh man, the dirty talks totally turn me on. Gideon was such a beast. However, as much as I want to enjoy this, the reality sucks. It only talks; no action. Gideon is really in love with but I just couldn't connect with Cora. Also there's no HOT sex for me. Only sweet making love with the man and his beast. Again, maybe it's my problem to expect something 'more'.
I wasn't sure what to expect when I started reading this story. Not only because I haven't read much at all from this author, but because of the fairy tale aspect.
This was a spin on beauty and the beast. It had almost a folklore feel to it. The story definitely kept my attention as I couldn't wait to see what happened.
They aren't together until almost the end of the story but when they did, it was steamy. No cheating or ow/om drama whatsoever (in fact, they were the only characters in the story) Both were celibate during the separation which given then circumstances for him, that was not surprising.
This was an interesting take on the Beauty and the Beast fairy tale. I fell into Gideon and Cora's world at Blackwood Manor with ease and didn't want to leave. It's a must read and will have a place on my rereads list.
Cora Walker grew up on the grounds of Blackwood Manor along with Gideon Blake. The pair of them were the best of friends and one day it was said that the couple would marry despite her being the groundskeeper's daughter. That was until one day, they were out playing and heard a growl and then the next thing Cora knew she was being shipped away from Blackwood Manor with her father. She never heard a peep out of the Blake's until now. Ten years have passed, and Cora's father has also passed away when she gets a letter stating to come to Blackwood Manor as the Blake's have something for her father. Thinking it might be monetary, Cora goes and steps on the grounds for the first time in a decade. When she arrives, the necklace that Gideon gave her the night before they left starts to burn and tighten. Almost strangling her and as she gets closer inside, the collar begins to form like a chain. Inside and out is not the Blackwood Manor that Cora remembers, this one has been left to ruins. What happened here? Cora is about to discover that the man she loved isn't the same either and now there is a darkness inside of him and that the only way to break the darkness is for her to love him completely. How can she do that when all Gideon is showing her is the monster he has become, not the man she knows is hidden inside him? I found Beauty in Spring to be more along the lines of the actual Beauty and the Beast tale, whereas the prior book Beauty in Summer was reminiscent of Beastly by Alex Flinn. Fans of Beauty and the Beast will devour this series in the same manner as the Beast.
Because the sweet petals of your pussy open and perfume the very air with your nectar. Because the tight buds of your nipples seek my touch as a flower seeks the touch of the sun.
This nectar/flower/buds et all filled book is the first book in BATB retellings, this one by Kati Wilde.
When Cora returns to her childhood home Blackwood manor, instead of finding it in its past glory- it is empty and completely destroyed. She hopes of finding her childhood sweetheart and first love Gideon there- but instead resides this beast/man who is cursed and trapped. His only hope for freedom is if his true love comes and marries him. Enter Cora. And with touches of magic, chains, beasts, childhood love, curses, blooming petals, hot sex and HEA this story completes. I liked the beast's hunger and yearning for Cora.
The perfume of your arousal is ripe and fertile, Cora.
And an extra half star for breeding undertones and hot beast sex. And for making me laugh with these comparisons.
4 1/2 stars I liked this one, it was fast but the story was good. Even if I'm reading a short story I still want an actual story and not just the hero and heroine meeting and having sex, they end. This was a fun take on Beauty and the Beast and I'm really glad I read it.
This was a surprise. I did not think I was going to like this one and read it on a whim; but it turned out to be a really interesting little book. The story itself is an erotic but loosely based re-telling of the Beauty and the Beast (duh!) with a twist. The 'beast' here is a werewolf and the h is his bride - who has been kept away from her 'mate' for her own safety. But once she returns; there's no saving her and then, the Beast sets out to woo her in his own beastly fashion. This was quite a sexy little read and definitely worth the three stars I've rated it!
Ok, so everything can't be gold. It's not bad, but it's not as good as the others I've read by Ms. Wilde. It's pretty insta and the underlying theme of setting your love free is nice. It's just a bit more freaky-deak when it comes to the Beast part of this equation and there's almost too much plot that needs more development, and it just doesn't quite go with this short of a page count. But if you're hardcore into Beauty and the Beast inspired romances, you may enjoy this.
First book by this author. I liked the book, maybe a bit to angsty for me personally. These two clearly are crazy about each other, but once they reconnect after 10 years they still hesitate.....or Cora does, not saying I blame her but she loves him just as much, so the hesitation was a little odd for me. She has no idea what he's been through in that time and he doesn't want to tell her, his heartache makes me a little sad. He lost and gave up so much in the last 10 years, all for his love of her and to save her. When these two crazy in love virgins come together in the end.....pretty sure sparks were flying from my kindle, hot as hell. And they get a sweet hea...*sigh*.
Retellings of Beauty & the Beast are my jam and I thoroughly enjoyed this one!
This novella was a quick read, yet it gave me everything I needed. It’s well-written, it’s a little filthy, and it’s so good.
I was completely captivated by this story and its characters. Gideon is growly and beastly and possessive and obsessive and dirty-mouthed and I’m a bit head over heels for him. The pull between Cora and him was strong. She returned after being gone for ten years and he’s not going to let her leave again.
I’m so happy I chose to read this one! It was my first read by this author and I can’t wait to read more from her!

A Fairytale Favourite with A Smutty Twist : Book 1
This series of books, all with a similar theme but are individual stand alone stories, had me in when I knew they were all going to take the theme of Beauty & The Beast & make it deliciously smuttastic.
I mean who doesn't love a naughty fairytale hot enough to make you swoon, blush & squeeze your thighs together?
I loved Cora & Gideon's story and once I got past what for me was a slow-ish start in setting up the premise of this particular story, I was hooked.
Give me a dirty, foul-mouthed, obsessed beast anytime.
DAMN. That was so hot. And actually really well written and surprisingly well paced for a very short novella. The same was also true for The Midwinter Mail-Order Bride (another novella by the same author) so I'm seriously impressed by Kati Wilde's work so far and will DEFINITELY be checking out her other books. I'd totally recommend this if you're in the mood for quick, smutty, but still well-written!
This story was my favourite in this series of retellings of Beauty and the Beast. I loved the childhood sweethearts aspect in this one that tied two hearts together. Magic and myths play a big part in this really fresh spin on a classic & I definitely recommend.
