Kira is back and needs to make up for lost time. After deciding to leave the Witness Protection Program she gets disturbing news that Quincy an old flame, Rhonda her business partner, Sunshine an old rival, and her grandmother were all murdered. Kira wants a new beginning so she moves to Houston, Texas with her cousin, Nikki in search of southern hospitality. Determined to prove that she is still wifey material, Kira jumps back onto the club scene in search of another sugar-daddy. When she meets Fatu, a Nigerian nightclub owner, her situation is instantly upgraded when he asks to marry her. As Kira begins to make plans for her wedding, her cousin Nikki has plans of her own. Tired of always living in Kira's shadow, Nikki is furious that once again Kira is walking away with the boss. Especially when she had eyes on Fatu first! Nikki is prepared to breakup Kira's engagement by any means necessary but Kira has bigger problems. Fatu isn't the legitimate businessman Kira thought he was. She's uncovered confidential information about Fatu that he is willing to kill for in order to keep secret. Fatu, the notorious crime boss has finally met his match and she's a woman by the name of Kira!
Kiki Swinson was born and raised in Portsmouth, Virginia. She discovered her flair for writing after completing her first novel, Mad Shambles, while serving a five-year sentence at a federal prison. After being released in December 1996, Kiki later went on to self-publish Mad Shambles. Her passion for writing didn't stop there. Writing feverishly into the wee hours of the night, she completed her second novel, Wifey, which was published by Melodrama Publishing. After the success of Wifey, Kiki penned the sequels I'm Still Wifey and Life After Wifey, as well as The Candy Shop and A Sticky Situation.
In this book the characters were SCANDELOUS. in all the books I've read I don't remember hating a character as much as I did Kiras cousin Nikki. I guess sometimes blood is thinner then water.
I love to read and this book I just cant put down!Im still reading the book Im on playing the field (nikki speaks)and so far so good.I will be picking up the other volumes to catch up on.
WOW!!!!!! is all I can say but I think Nikki deserved what she got ur own flesh n blood messed over u for a man that didn't even want her...... This book is a must read
Determined to start fresh Kira and Nikki relocate to Houston, Texas and jointly open a new hair salon. Everything goes smoothly and eventually Nikki and Kira meet African brothers and night club proprietors Bintu and Fatu. Before long Fatu sweeps Kira off of her feet with his sexy chivalrous demeanor and riches while Nikki glares from the sidelines extremely jealous. Fatu and Kira get engaged only three months into dating and that's when all hell breaks loose! Nikki decides Fatu should be hers and pulls every trick from under her sleeve to try to make that reality. Behind her cousin's back, she is soon sleeping with him, receiving expensive gifts from him, and maybe even spending a little of his fortune but who has who wrapped around their finger? The answer truly surprised me. Nikki dives lower than I would have ever expected in this installment. I've disliked her this entire series, and knew she was a dummy but honestly I still expected a little more from her character. It was very entertaining to see Kira and Nikki go head to head throughout this novel but the entire time I kept thinking, "Who are these women and where are the REAL Kira and Nikki?" We all know Kira is the baddest roughest toughest and Nikki is the weak pathetic wanna be so why did Nikki one up Kira so many times? Totally inconsistent with the last three books I must say. I also admit that I am again disappointed in Kira. She was presented to us from the get go as extremely street smart but all that is obviously out that window. She lets too much suspicious things slide mentioning that she will deal with them later and never even picks up on that fact that Nikki hates her until it is too late. This hood tale turned murder mystery will have you frustrated, pissed off, and on the edge of your seat. It isn't the greatest but is still a must read if you have already started this series.
Kiki Swinson's writing, in certain aspects, has been very reliable in this series. The over the top unrealistic situations are unfluctuating along with the quick ending, unanswered questions, gold digging method of operating, bird brains, and never learn anything personas these women seem to cling to. Hey, at least she is consistent. . . sometimes.
Kira and Nikki decide that they have had enough of the fast life in Virginia so they relocate to Houston, Texas. After a chance encounter, Kira and Nikki meets African brothers, Fatu and Bintu. Nikki, being Nikki, decides that she is going to get all that she can out of Bintu, not knowing that Fatu is the better catch, maybe, but Fatu is checking for Kira.
Fatu wines and dines Kira, which makes Nikki envious. She feels that she should be the one receiving the expensive gifts, not Kira. So, she decides that she wants Bintu for herself, but he has proposed to Kira. Will that stop him from crossing a line with Kira's cousin, Nikki?
After flipping through the channels, Kira sees a news report that a serial killer is killing women in upscale neighborhoods. She is instantly on high alert. After not being able to locate Fatu, and other concidentally incidents, Kira believes that Fatu is cheating on her. She decides to follow him one night, and she finds out something shocking about her fiancee. Is Kira in danger?
The story had major potential, but it feel flat for me. Kira and Nikki's characters changed from how they were originally introduced, and not for the better. The old Kira wouldn't have let Nikki get away with half of the bull she pulled. The old Nikki wouldn't have crossed Kira the way that she did. Kira was her favorite cousin who gave Nikki the game. Kiki should have told what caused Fatu to do the things he did to the women in the story. Lots of loose ends that were not tied up made me give this book two stars.
I liked this book for it to be a part 4 I thought it would be much more drama in it but, it was enough I guess.
It starts off when Kira and Nikki decides to move to Houston Texas to start over from all the drama they hand in Virgina.
So Kira open up another hair shop Nikki also works there. Nikki decides after a couple of months she ready to date so she runs into this African man Bintu that she liked but, she wanted his brother Fatu but, Fatu wanted Kira.
So Nikki gets jealous of all of what Kira have she has Fatu and Kira engaged to Fatu.
But, Nikki starts sleeping with Fatu on the side. Kira know that it's something up with Fatu because of all the late nights she can't find him.
But, at the end it tells it all. More about Fatu and Nikki. Thats when all hell brake lose.
Good read I liked it. Now how it end I am not waiting to see if there will be a part 5 now. Kiki has done her thang yet again.:)
Well, Niki finally got what she deserved. What a backstabbing, hating, sleezebucket. Who needs enemies when you have cousins? Niki's mind was truly twisted in the worst way. I'm nervous for Kira now. Just when you think she's going to be alright a zinger comes out of no where at the end.
"Still Wifey Material" was a good read. Yes, I'm shocked because it received very mixed reviews and the last book in the series has the worst reviews of them all. The plot was abit different than the rest but, I loved the twist. It was a well developed story that took my mind in a different direction and sometimes it is good to get away from the drug, kill, drug, and baby momma drama storyline every now and then.
I was SHOCKED that Nikki gained so much hatred for Kira. She took jealousy to a whole nother level. This book was very intense and dramatic. I thought that Kira was still mad at Kira because of how she left her in a world to fend for herself but i think she grew up alot but it seemed like it reversed. I just knew this was going to be the "happy ending" for Kira Hopefully in Anguilla she will meet her King.
Nikki's jealousy toward Kira continues. Open salon in Texas. Kira& Nikki meet wealthy Africans . Nikki has one nite stand with Benti & he forgets her. Fatu & Kira become engaged. Nikki meets Nikko. Salon gets robbed. Nikki & Kira fight & Nikki moves in with Nate (Carmen & X best man). Nikki & Nikko are in highway driveby. Kira finds out bad information concerning Fatu. Kira kidnapped. More killed. Kira moves to Anguilla and runs into Frances (baby mama)

Omg that book is what got me hooked on her. Everyone was telling me to read her but I am the. Type who don't Like books like this Do to personal reasons But I will say I am happy that I took the time to read this one. An so know I am on the mission to read all. Of her books. So I will say thumbs up tp the mrs. Swinson.
I am at lost of words on this one. I loved the suspense. I loved everything except Nikki's trifling ass. I don't understand where she mustered so much hatred for Kira. But I don't want to give away the whole story, so I'll say this. She got everything she deserves and I can't wait to see how Part 5 goes.
I love all the wifey books even part 5. I'm waiting for part 6, how many times can can she really cheat dealth? I bet this time her new boyfriend is caught up in some dumb stuff too........lol CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!
very entertaining though it was completely different from what I was expecting. Still a very good read. I am glad I read this and wonder if there will be more in this series Hope so because I love it
Im gettin tired of Kira...but this one was better than 3 which was mainly about Nikki..who will cause u to dislike her very much in this book..on to the next!
I have read the entire Wifey Series. The series is well written and very descriptive with lots of action. I enjoyed the series! Thank God it is fiction...I hope.
it's kind of sad how these character's mindsets work when it comes to worth. it seemed like they didn't even have to like the materialistic things they came across, as long as it cost an arm and a leg it was a go. when getting engaged the first thing a the man did was open a bank account to flaunt a large amount of money. It was nice to read how kira knew her life was not something that could be bought. FINALLY!!! however, for you to try and tell me that the world is soooooo teeny tiny that bumps into someone in her past life millions of miles away on a foreign island was quite an eye roller.
