April brought her son Marcus to Summer Lake to escape their old life--to escape her ex husband, Guy. She's spent the last couple of months building a new life. It might not seem like she has much. She has a job at the bakery, they live in a little rented house, but as far as April's concerned she has everything she needs. She has Marcus and she has her freedom.
And she has a little crush, too, on Eddie, the drummer with the band at the resort. She knows it's crazy, what would a guy like him see in a woman like her? When he asks if she'd like to spend some time with him, she knows it's only because all their friends are coupled up. It's not much fun being single at the lake, so if the two of them can help each other out, then why not?
Eddie's tired of the life he's been living. He's done the partying and the groupies, and they were never really his thing anyway, they just went with the lifestyle. These days he'd rather hang out at his house on the water, he'd rather fish from the dock or just chill than party. He'd rather get to know April, but he knows a girl like her wouldn't be interested in a guy like him. Still, Eddie made a promise to her son that he'd teach him to play guitar. The little dude seems to have lived through enough disappointment in his life already. Eddie doesn't intend to let him down, and if that means he gets to hang out with April, too, then everybody wins, right?
These two are both ready to take their lives in a new direction, but before they can they'll each have to break free of the past.
The Summer Lake series follows a group of friends from a small lakeside town in the California hills. They have kept in touch over the years and now, in their early thirties, their lives are drawing them back to Summer Lake and to each other.

Hi, I'm SJ. A coffee addict, lover of chocolate and drinker of good red wines. I'm a lost soul and a hopeless romantic. Reading and writing are necessary parts of who I am. Though perhaps not as necessary as coffee! I can drink coffee without writing, but I can't write without coffee.
I grew up loving romance novels, my first boyfriends were book boyfriends, but life intervened, as it tends to do, and I wandered down the paths of non fiction for many years. My life changed completely a couple of years ago and I returned to Romance to find my escape.
I write 'Sweet N Steamy' stories because to me there is enough angst and darkness in real life. My favorite romances are happy escapes with a focus on fun, friendships and happily-ever-afters, just like the ones I write.
These days I live in beautiful Montana, the last best place. If I'm not reading or writing you'll find me just down the road in the park - Yellowstone. I have deer, eagles and the occasional bear for company, and I like it that way :0)
Life is for living right? I’d forgotten that. Now I’m remembering, and I’m trying to make the most of every day. Today is the only time when you can make anything happen. You can’t change yesterday, and you can’t live for tomorrow.
I know when you’re a kid you’re suppose to respect grown-ups and everything, but sometimes grown-ups are assholes, just like the bullies at school. When grown-ups treat you badly, don’t automatically accept that you’re wrong, and they’re right. First, ask yourself if they’re an asshole.
I don’t want anything quick… I want forever.
My Review:
Summer Lake is one of my favorite places to escape to and lull about in a happy bubble, and I don’t have to leave home to enjoy it. Another adorable couple finds their way forward toward their HEA, and although they had to work for it, they certainly deserved and earned that reward. Dream Like Nothing’s Impossible was about new beginnings and fresh starts for a new family unit as well as repairing an older one. I adore this author’s sweet and steamy style as well as her well-conceived assortment of friends; a collection that has grown well beyond the original set and developed and incorporated into an extra-large extended family and well on their way toward becoming their own community. Each delightful book in this enjoyable series has been a pleasurable respite, one that brings a smile to my face and a sigh of satisfaction from my lips upon completion.
I am so pleased that April got her own book, from when I first read about her in the Remington Ranch series and hoping it was the same person that was mentioned in a couple of the other books to find it was her was brilliant. I think this book is in the top 3 of my favourites in this series. As with all the others there are twists, turns and surprises, I just had to keep reading till I had finished the book. I am going to be so sad when I finish this series but I highly recommend it, if you are a romantic at heart I honestly believe you will love this series. Wish I could give this book more than 5 stars.
Another lovely story from S J. April managed to get away from her abusive husband with the help of Misses brother, and Ben had given her a job so she was able to get a house for her and her son to live in. When she attended he's New friends weddings she got talking to Eddie the guy who was in the resort's band. What none of them knew was that her husband was having her watched......... This is so well written you feel part of the story living on the side lines watching the dynamics play out and routing for the winners. Please give this book a read
Oh boy these just get better and better! Total swoon for Eddie. What an amazing man he is, so alpha in a totally laid back way. I loved seeing him with Marcus, the pure love he felt for the boy was obvious. April needed to stand in her own two feet, to feel in control of her life and Eddie allowed her to do that, while still protecting her and standing by her. I love how all the original characters open up those hearts and welcome all the waifs and strays in and help them be the best version of themselves.
I started reading this series with the Summer Lake box set books 1-3)..... After I finished I kept readingthrough the series... Each story is its own standalone HEA, but then they ALL blend together and go SO well together. I've read through them all-(not just this series!), you will do the same!! I CANNOT wait for SJ's next book!!!
Really enjoying this series of books. The stories of each of the friends is so interesting and enjoyable. I would recommend these books to anyone who enjoys a good romantic book.
Just adored this beautiful love story! It was perfect! The warmth and support of the friends and family in SJ McCoy's books makes them very special. I really enjoyed this series.
This book shows the underdog shouldn't be doubted. No matter what the past has dealt someone the present and future can become amazing. Another amazing book by SJ McCoy. On to the next one. I can't wait.
Anything’s possible with love - new beginnings, finding family and conquering seemingly impossible situations. And a great group of friends makes everything even better. Love summer lake and all of the gang!
Wow, this book had all the feels. I loved Eddie, April and Marcus's story. You can feel the love coming from them. A captivating read that left me with a smile.
Awesome story great characters love these series! very different people who are great friends and has each others backs stories flow from one subject and people to the next easy to follow
Good read! So happy for Eddie and April and we can't forget Marcus! This one was a little on the edge of your seat since you knew her ex was most likely going to show up or do something. So glad they were able to beat him at his own game. I hope that in the future books we hear that they officially got engaged.

Dream Like Nothing is Impossible ...... Because it is not !
Annother great, sweet story from SJ McCoy, who converted me to Sweet & Steamy ... I was able to read the story in Advance of the release date, but also bought the book, why would you not?
Love April & Eddie's story ....... April who came to Summer Lake from Motanna .... escaping her husband Guy Preston (Boo Hiss) !! A despicable man who not only terrified and mistreated April, but her son Marcus as well. I wept when Marcus lost Eddie's fishing rod, feeling the fear that he felt at such a young age ..... But Eddie's soft and kind reassurance to Marcus was heartwarming.
The tension when Guy (Boo Hiss) found April and Marcus was palpable. The Mystery/Thriller/Paralegal in me has already started compiling a list of likely suspects as to who gave him the information ..... and I already have one at the top of my list ..... SJ enquiring minds need to know!!
It was lovely to see April, Eddie and Marcus, finding their way to a new beginning, as it was for Eddie and his Father finding a way to settle their past and strengthening their family ties.
As ever its great to catch up with all the others in Summer Bay, seeing how their lives are unfolding in the background to a new story with new central characters ...... And this is the reason we all come back.
Every new book tells not only a new story but lets you know how your 'Friends' in Summer Lake are doing.
Leave The Nightmare Behind Dream Like Nothing's Impossible, however for April, all her dreams have been nightmares. After escaping her life of hell in Montana and trying to rebuild a life in Summer Lake, April only has time to dream. After a marriage full of abuse and pain, all she wants to do is focus on creating a safe, loving environment for her son Marcus and to help others over come their nightmares. That is until she meets Eddie, the drummer in the resort's house band.
This is book 10 in the Summer lake Series, however if you follow the Remington Ranch Series, this is the continuation of April's escape from Guy, proving that life goes on. April is a strong woman, she just needs the courage to see it within herself and Eddie is that courage. He has a true heart of gold, making him her best friend. He gives her the confidence to discover who she really is and the backbone to stand up for what she really believes in.
I have always said SJ McCoy is an artist with words, this time she takes it a step further. She has created a healing story. So many men and women need to know they are not alone and need to feel April and Eddie's strength. They need to see themselves through her eyes and realize that their dreams can come true too.
This is the 10th book in the Summer Lake series and once again I really enjoyed it. I always love my trips back to the lake as we get to catch up with some of the other residents. We have met both April and Eddie in previous visits to the lake and it was so nice to see their story unfold. April previously fled from her husband and a life of torment taking her son Marcus with her. She knows one day Guy will find her but she is determined to give herself and Marcus the best life possible. With the help of her new friends in Summer Lake, April needs to learn to trust that all will be alright in the end. Eddie, a member of the Boat House’s regular band, he is known for having a different woman most weeks. No one seems to realise he is fed up of this life and meeting April he sees he can have more than what he ever hoped for, a family. There are a few secrets along the way, but nothing can get in the way of this couple. That is until Guy finds out where April has been hiding and although he doesn’t want her, he doesn’t want her to be happy. Can the couple ignore Guy’s threats or will the risks be too high?
I received this book in exchange for an honest review. SJ McCoy is a keeper on my go-to-list for reads... I'm always ready for the next release. This book about Eddie and April left me believing in love and forever, when you Dream Like Nothing's Impossible.
I can only imagine what it would be like for a single parent, especially a female having lived through verbal and physical abuse, with the only thing worse being your child getting the same treatment or worse. You can only despise ex-husband Guy who has caused havoc and messed with too many peoples lives; isn't it wonderful when you see karma at work!
I love McCoy's books, because I feel like I'm sitting right next to my friends sharing life's journey wherever they go. Get lost for a few hours with your friends from Summer Lake or the Remington's in Montana... Like true friends where you pick up where you left off, where no time as passed! Enjoy!
I received an ARC for an honest review. Wow, I adore this authors work, and my word, she never disappoints, this is April and Eddie’s story. April has escaped from an abusive marriage and is now living in Summer Lake with her son Marcus. My heart broke for this little lad as he had been dealt the same treatment as his Mom. It was lovely to read how he grew from being so timid to a confident youngster. Eddie and April have had an attraction between them for a while, but so far have not done anything about it. Now they are taking a chance, it is hot! This author writes with such talent and ability, that the storyline is fluent, and intriguing, and I am hooked from the very beginning. I always highly recommend her work, and she is one of my all time favourite authors. Cannot wait for the next in this series! Awesome job as always!!
Let me start out by saying that I am a huge SJ fan and love all her work! Dream is the tenth book in this wonderful series and SJ just keeps getting better and better! I love going back to Summer Lake and meeting up with all of these amazing characters that I truly feel I have gotten to know over the years <3. Eddie and April are two characters we've met in previous books and now its their chance at happily ever after. April and her son have had it tough and Summer Lake is their new chance at happiness. Eddie is a reformed playboy who is ready to settle down and thinks April just might be the perfect woman for him. I especially enjoyed watching Eddie and Aprils son Marcus's relationship grow right alongside Eddie and April's. These two don't have the easiest road but together nothing is impossible!! Once again a great read and I can't wait for more from this incredible author!!!
I've been a huge fan of SJ McCoy since I read the first book in this series. I can't believe this is book 10! Each one gets better and better. This is a place that you want to visit and never leave, (or is that just me)? This book is about Eddie and April, Eddies in the band who play at Bens resort and has always been somewhat of a ladies man, love em and leave em, that is until April, who's exscaped her abusive and soon to be ex husband with her son Marcus. They both go on a journey to make their lives better and with the help of Eddie they might just get their happy ending. As always there are steamy scenes which get you hot under the collar, which is a must in Summer Lake. You get to catch up with the rest of the crew too and are left wondering who will be next! Lovely, heart warming and enjoyable read. Well done again SJ. Xx
Another really enjoyable story in this series, it had everything I love from this series and author.
The story itself was very sweet and the main characters April and Eddie were extremely likable. As was Marcus, April's little boy who like his mum has been through so much in his 10 years, but was totally adorable and so sweet especially when spending time with Eddie. Overall a great story, and the relationship aspect was well paced and believable and it was great to catch up with some of the other couples from this series even if just briefly and I am looking forward to reading from this series in the future and would certainly recommend it to others.
