Hart's Boardwalk #2

Every Little Thing

Rate this book
Bailey Hartwell has many reasons to feel content—her successful business, a close circle of friends, and her steady boyfriend…even if their romance feels staid after ten years without a serious commitment. The only challenge in her life comes in the form of sexy businessman Vaughn Tremaine. She thinks the ex-New Yorker acts superior and that he considers her a small-town nobody. But when Bailey’s blindsided by a betrayal, she’s shocked to discover Vaughn is actually a decent guy.

Vaughn admires Bailey’s free spirit, independence, and loyalty. As his passion for her has grown, his antagonism toward her has only worsened. Every little thing Bailey does seduces him. But when Vaughn’s painful emotional past makes him walk away in fear he will hurt her, it opens an old wound in Bailey, and she uncharacteristically retreats.

Once Vaughn begins to realize he’s made the biggest mistake of his life, he has no choice but to fight like he’s never fought before to convince Bailey that the love they’ve found together only comes around once in a lifetime….

“You don’t know how perfect you two are for each other. One ice, one fire, but both stubborn as hell.”
Every Little Thing is the second book in Samantha Young’s Hart’s Boardwalk series. When I finished the first book, I was so ecstatic to get a book about Bailey Hartwell and Vaughn Tremaine. I love that enemy to lovers story line and I could tell that their story would turn into an epic love.

Bailey Hartwell is the owner and operator of Hartwell’s inn and the town princess of sorts. She loves where she lives, her community, and takes pride in her boardwalk. When Vaughn Tremaine first came to town wanting to open a huge hotel and being from the big city, Bailey showed resistance. Although Tremaine proved he wasn’t the big city slicker wanting to disrupt their town, he’s still had some tension with Bailey ever since.

The tension between them is some straight up sexual tension just screaming to boil over. You could feel it with every quip they threw at one another.
“I’m sorry. I have a bad habit of being a bastard to you.” Bailey’s eyebrows rose at his admission. And then something rueful and mischievous glinted in those beautiful eyes of hers. “Maybe that’s because I have a bad habit of being a bitch to you.”

I just loved these two so much! Bailey is a fantastic heroine. I loved how strong and independent she was. Vaughn is pretty amazing as well. He was a great hero and someone who is loyal and protective to those he loves. I’ve also got to shout out to Vaughn’s Dad- he was just wonderful! I loved the back and forth banter between Bailey and Vaughn. I also loved the connection they shared and how powerful it was once they gave into one another.

Samantha Young’s writing is enthralling and I didn’t want to put this one down. I love the small town vibe, charming characters, and sense of community. Vaughn and Bailey’s story was sweet, steamy, and fiery. It captivated me from the start and I loved the moments of humor woven in. I’m excited for more from the Hartwell bunch (especially Jack and Emery! I’m not sure if their story will be together, but I would LOVE books for both of them!)

“Vaughn Tremaine may have been a pompous, smug, wealthy, arrogant businessman who thought he was better than me, but he could also kind of be honorable when he wanted to be.”

Bailey is a successful inn owner in Hartwell, Delaware, a small and charming boardwalk town. Bailey has always had a comfortable and safe relationship with her boyfriend of ten years, until she walks in on him having sex with a younger woman. And while Bailey is upset, she’s more dismayed that she wasted so much time on the wrong man.

Vaughn Tremaine is the sexy businessman who moved to Hartwell and got on Bailey’s bad side right away. For years the two have had a contemptuous banter that had a strong sexual undertone. When something bad happens to Bailey at her inn, Vaughn is there to help her. The attraction between the two is strong, it’s just a matter of whether or not they’ll admit it to each other.

“I wish you and he would just admit you’re attracted to one another and stop acting like children at recess.”

Samantha Young is one of my all-time favorite authors, I’ll read anything the woman writes. The Hart’s Boardwalk series is a change of pace for her, but a delightful and sweet series many readers will enjoy. Bailey and Vaughn were a couple I was intrigued by when they were introduced in the previous book, and the heat between them in this book did not disappoint. There was a lot of push and pull, and some frustrating moments, but this couple is made up of two very strong people and it was wonderful seeing them fight for what they wanted.

I think one of the strengths of this series is the side characters, you really get a sense of community when you read about these people. I am dying for Emery’s book, and the books of other characters mentioned in this novel. The pacing was a bit off in this book, some very slow moments like the first book. Usually with a Samantha Young book I am able to devour it within a few hours, but this one took me a couple of days.

If you want a romance with complex and powerful characters, this is the book for you. I cannot wait to read more about this small town and all of the people in it.

“I never dreamed it could be like this between us.”

Samantha Young is one on my favorite writers. Period!! Since falling irrevocably in love with her Dublin Series, I've read every one of her books and could relate so much to many aspects she presented there. Family, friendship, loyalty are only a few of her trademark elements and for that I will always love her stories.

After saying goodbye to my favorite people from the Dublin Series, we were presented with another beautiful family and environment, this time having another background. If you thought Scotland was beautiful, wait until you discover Hart's Boardwalk.

This is the second book from the series and even if I enjoyed Jessica and Cooper together, I had a feeling that Bailey and Vaughn were going to be epic. And my intuition was right. They were amazing and I am very excited to tell you my opinion about it, since I love enemies turning to lovers stories. I believe there is a lot of sexual tension being accumulated and I enjoy reading the way they manage to be together in the end.

description

As you all know from the first book, Bailey is Jessica's best friend, a wonderful girl that fights with everything she has for the people she loves. She has a beautiful inn on the boardwalk, and although the place is crowded with hotels, her inn is special because of the vintage aspect and homey atmosphere it providers for the people staying there. Bailey had a boyfriend for about 10 years and when he cheated on her, her life is totally unbalanced, having her in a confuse situation. Spending all that time with only one person, managed to make her feel safe and not vulnerable. The passion, traditional butterflies were gone, but she was in her safe place. Now alone, she has to figure out her priorities and what does she want from a relationship. She is very protective over her friends, almost being like the mother hen, but deep inside she was waiting for someone to take care of her, but to make her surrender and just.. live:)

Vaughn.. First, I would like to say that I've imagined so many heroes as Matt Bomer that I think all of them should have his face:) But, sincerely speaking, for Vaughn there is impossible to picture somebody else besides Matt to portrait him. Now that I had this cleared, we can move on:) So, he is a talented and wealthy business man, owns a hotel on the boardwalk and is Bailey's mortal enemy. With the traditional "stick upon his ass" and tailored suit, Vaughn only knows how to work and dedicate himself to his job. He doesn't know how to loosen up, to live a normal life, to have fun, to be in a serious relationship. He has background issues in this category that made him swear off long term relationships, but the moment he meets Bailey, it is like BANG! All his walls came tumbling down and he began to fell in love with her, despite putting on a serios face and being rude to her 24/7.

That was his way of keeping her at a safe distance, for the sake of both of them.
As you've seen in the first book, Bailey and Vaughn are enemies, but the only persons that don't acknowledge how good they are for each other are only them. Everyone around seem to see that. When they meet they are explosive, but they manage to keep their true feelings at bay. Vaughn is ironic, Bailey is rude, but they will shortly discover how alike they are. I enjoyed so much their chemistry, like this volcano that couldn't erupt and when it had the opportunity it created a catastrophe.  Their scenes were so intense, so passionate, so well written that only leaves you thinking: " It was about time..."

description

I enjoyed seeing another side of Vaughn, one that was more relax, more vulnerable, more mundane. I liked that he was human after all, with fears, insecurities but also with a lot of qualities. Even if it took a while for him to realise, once he knew that Bailey was the one, the pursuing and way he got to her heart were amazing. I sincerely crushed hard on this man and I think pairing him with Bailey was a wonderful idea. I also loved Bailey as a heroine, mainly because I wanted to have her sincerity and with, alongside with that temper of her. I liked the way she reacted to Vaughn and the way the calculated and balanced Bailey was gone when he was near. I truly admire her for the hard work she put on running her own business, being independent and sticking up to her believes. What an amazing pair this guys do:)

As usual, Samantha introduced us to a big family that keeps on expanding, and I know for sure there will be a lot of surprises in stored for us. The plot was very dynamic, the scenes were incredibly well written, with humor, love, irony and suspense. I loved the way it evolved, the way a lot of aspects from the first book were presented, making this story almost like a standalone, with its own personality.

For me, this is a 5 star read, and looking forward to meeting Jack and Emery because I am sooo curious about what surprises Jack has for us. I am sure that he hides something, and I truly want an explanation regarding his behaviour. And besides that, it will be interesting to see how he will make Emery get out of her shell.

Better than THE ONE REAL THING (which I found a little generic).

EVERY LITTLE THING wasn't groundbreaking or anything--this is contemporary romance we're dealing with--but it felt less cookie cutter, and more importantly, while Vaughn and Bailey both had Secrets, they weren't secrets of the OTT, drama llama variety that Young frequently favors.

So HOORAY for that.

As far as foundations laid for forthcoming books, I am a little concerned about what the future holds for the one Devlin who might not be as bad as the others.

I mentioned the Kristen Ashley-feel I was getting in THE ONE REAL THING, but I'm 99.7% sure that no one but KA can believably pull off the sister-slept-with-your-husband-for-your-own-good scenario (or the your-bff-slept-with-your-wife-etc. version), and after Jack's apparent shenanigans in this book, I don't see how he could ever be satisfactorily redeemed, especially considering who Young appears to be laying groundwork for an HEA with . . .

BUT.

We're not there yet, so my misgivings have no bearing. YET.

Every Little Thing is the second book in Samantha Young's Hart's Boardwalk series and not a book I thought I was going to survive waiting for. The story follows Bailey, Hartwell's golden girl, as her life takes a change. She's used to being content but she wants more, and that more comes in the form of Vaughn Tremaine. As much as she wants to hate him she just can't seem to stop admiring him from afar. Even when he's an ass towards her in order to push her away she still wants to know more about him. But Vaughn doesn't think he deserves something as good as Bailey and he may finally hurt her enough to where she won't accept him in her life.

Bailey had me intrigued from when we were first introduced to her in The One Real Thing because she was such a happy character and that didn't change in her own book. I loved that she had this infectious happiness about her that made me smile while reading her story. I liked that she never really lost that spirit of hers, even when life wasn't going exactly how she wanted.

Vaughn wasn't a character I would file away as an asshole-hero but he definitely had moments that I wanted to slap him. Then the other side of my brain would wake up and say "Hero being a jerk? I want him" I don't know what it is about these men in books that make me want to jump their bones when in real life I would be kicking them but I'm not going to argue with my needy side. But he wasn't just a jerk, he had a lot of sweet moments that made me swoon even more and I actually loved him with Bailey.

Overall, this is a great addition to this series and now I will sit here and patiently wait for the next. Did you believe that? Because I didn't, I'm going to be freaking out until I can get my hands on the next story! I think I know who it's going to be about and I'm so damn curious I could hunt this author down and force her to tell me if I'm right or not.

Title: Every Little Thing
Series: Hart's Boardwalk #2
Author: Samantha Young
Release date: March 7, 2017
Cliffhanger: No
HEA

Well, I absolutely adore this series, but I'm sad to say that this second installment was a bit of a let down. Along with everyone else who read The One Real Thing, my anticipation was soaring for Bailey and Vaughn's book. These two were bursting with potential and I couldn't wait to see how their love/hate attraction played out. These two had a kind of chemistry that is addictive to watch. Their snarky bantering clearly concealed the kind of passion that would be explosive when it finally ignited.

If you haven't read book one, let me give you a little background. Bailey Hartwell's family founded the town and she's your quintessential small town girl. She was born and raised there, and proud of it. She co-owns a quaint Inn and she's one of the most fiercely loyal people you could have as a friend. But if you get on her bad side, she takes no prisoners. Let me tell you, this woman had me at hello. Her sarcastic and witty personality is blunt and 100% real. I knew that when she opened her mouth, I was almost guaranteed a laugh.

“You’re looking a little stressed there, Bailey. Anything I can do to help?”
“Sterilization,” I quipped.
“Huh?”
“My point exactly. Good-bye.” I wiggled my fingers at them, gesturing them to move along.

Vaughn is a fairly new member to town, he's the owner of a hotel and Bailey's only competition. From the moment he and Bailey met, he rubbed her the wrong way. He was pure high society, city boy. Unfortunately he gave her the impression that he was a snob that held himself high and mighty above everyone else. (Which is not the case.) He's rich, sexy, and oozing an air of charm and mystery that women gravitate toward. Though he's not lacking female companionship, Vaughn is strictly against relationships. But if there was one woman who would tempt him, it's the one infuriating woman who won't quit getting under his skin. For four years, they've resisted and taken part in thinly veiled flirtations. But after she ends her ten year long dead-end relationship with her boyfriend, there was no longer any safe boundaries holding him back. He was so screwed.

Vaughn couldn’t remember a time when he’d been so lost in a woman. He felt this unsettling hum beneath his skin. This urgency. This desperation to claim Bailey Hartwell as his own like he really was a prehistoric caveman.

At first, I was giddy with their interactions. However, after their one-night stand, things took a turn for the worse for me. Keep in mind, this is just my personal preference, and you may not find issue with it at all. Vaughn's cruel dismissal of Bailey after she let him in and gave him her trust pushed me over the edge. The way he intentionally hurt her angered me so badly, I was deep breathing and counting to ten to save my kindle from destruction. But I was willing to keep an open mind because if his secret past betrayal was enough, I would have let it go. Well, after waiting for much of the book for him to pull his head out of the sand and stand by the woman he loved, the explanation for his classic male commitment-phobe behavior just didn't cut it.

There were a couple of instances where I found the characters to act inconsistent with the personality that I've come to love. I've always admired Bailey's tough attitude, she isn't one who suffered fools. After Vaughn's cruel rejection (that shattered and humiliated her by the way) he left town, and when he returned, I was expecting a swift kick to his balls, maybe a body slam...a headlock. Something! Hey, don't put it past her, she's a ball buster, trust me. But what she really gave us was a regression to their love/hate bantering. There was no acknowledgement of what happened, it was as if now that she had seen what he could do in the sack, she was unable to see past her own lust for him.

The other thing that bothered me later was Vaughn's friendship with his disgusting friend Oliver. The man was human scum, he didn't even attempt to hide it. From the very beginning, I never understood his acceptance of him, it didn't add up to me. Vaughn has always been the sort of "white knight" in town. He has morals, and has proven his scorn for people who victimize others. Yes, Vaughn was a playboy himself, but to associate with someone whom he had no respect for? Nope, I didn't see it. In the end, there was a purpose for Oliver's introduction in this story, but it all felt too manufactured for my taste.

Now that I have that out of the way, I need to emphasize that in no way am I saying that this book is not worth your time. These characters had just as much of a draw that they did for me in the first book. The entire landscape of how Young connects the town members together is really incredible. To see how she weaves the intrigue and prickles your curiosity for every single one is noteworthy. I am dying- DYING for Jack, Emery, Ivy, and Dahlia's story. There were tons of laugh out loud moments that had me smiling uncontrollably. And in all honesty, as frustrated as I got with Vaughn, I couldn't set this book down.

I really struggled with my rating for a long time, but in the end I realized that this was just an okay read for me. Don't let that dissuade you from reading this however, if you're looking forward to reading it. It's more than likely that you won't have the same issues. There's a charm about this town that's undeniable, and my eagerness for the following in the series hasn't faded a bit.

4,5 stars! There is something in this series, that it's easy to fall in love with the atmosphere and heroes of this town. I definitely fell in love and I wouldn't mind to spend summer in such a place. Or just more time while reading the series.

About the plot: Vaughn Tremaine (36.) came to Hartwell to escape his life in Manhattan. He was only there to build a successful hotel, but somewhere along the way the ocean side town became his home. Great influence also had a certain sassy redhead that he liked, but wasn't going to have.

Bailey Hartwell (34.) loves her small inn, community and friends in her town. She is also very protective of it all. So when a wealthy businessman came to the Hartwell, she was less than welcoming. However, it seems that he settled here, and has no intention to stop annoying her.

“There was nothing calming about being this attracted to a man I wasn’t even sure I liked very much.”

My thoughts: It's not flowers and hearts kind of story where the characters fall in love, and together face the problems of life. They don't have easy path and first must fight with each other and their own desires to have some happy after. Because that, my friends is the enemies to lovers story.

The plot a little slowly getting started, but I already liked the characters from the first book, yes even arrogant Vaughn, and maybe just couldn't wait until it explodes between this two. And it exploded great.

“I bet you’ve thought about it. Fucking the hostile Princess of the Boardwalk into submission.”

I really wanted to know what the secret lies behind a cold and distant Vaughn. And Bailey, Bailey is a heroine, who is hard not to like. She is outspoken and has no filter. Their bickering were entertaining, but also sometimes give cold shivers.

As for the chills, I have to admit that I had them all the time during their interactions. Those pleasant and not so much. Just their chemistry worked for me. Not only in the sheets, there are really hot scenes, but also outside of it. You may think that there is lot of angst and frustrating behaviors, but for me it was a fantastic road to love, which had to happen.

“I love you, Bailey Hartwell, because you frustrate me, you annoy me, you bother me, you bewilder me, you make me laugh, you get under my skin, you take my breath away.”

What you just have to admit, is the author in excellent way presents secondary characters and creates around them secrets that you want to explore. Therefore, I have no doubt that I just have to read the next part of this series and just can not wait about who it will be. Although really, any of them promises in a fantastic way.

In summary I recommend this book and the series, to anyone who is looking for opposites attract - but don't want to admit it, kind of stories. Be ready for battle of wits, rejection and indecision, and then you'll be rewarded with sweet and burning hot moments. And of course, an amazing group of friends, which is simply worth exploring.

"We were two people who were attracted to each other and didn’t want to be."

Firstly I have to say that I enjoyed this a lot more than the first book! I fell in love with Bailey and Vaughn's story. Samantha Young delivers a lovely, steamy and passionate romance.

description

"Vaughn looked at me like he wanted me. I knew there was power in my smile but wow."

The constant push-pull between Bailey and Vaughn made the story entertaining! They were intense and passionate when they were together. I have to admit that I didn't like Bailey at first but when I continued reading I understood her and liked her more! Vaughn intrigued me a lot and I liked him a lot!

"I've wanted you just like this. That smart mouth of yours sweet. That sexy body of yours mine to do with as I please."

This series just gets better and better! I can't wait for the next book!

“Not so smart for a smart guy.”

There are stories that are surprisingly hard to rate. While I loved a lot about this book there were some thing I just couldn't get on board with. Let me explain.

Bailey is Hartwell-royalty. She is a descendant of the original founders and well-liked all around. She owns the inn on the boardwalk and is "OK" with her life. Is she happy? That would be an exaggeration. Her boyfriend sports a serious case of commitment phobia which clashes with her yearning for a family. Temptation comes in the body of Vaughn Tremaine, a man she despises and it goes both ways. Or so she thinks.

I was as attractive as a limp noodle to him. And it shouldn’t bother me. The man was a jerk.

Vaughn's feelings for the princess of Hartwell are complicated. He wants her. Bad. But relationships don't work for him so he helps himself to a beautiful woman once in a while. It doesn't satisfy his raging need for the beautiful, vivacious redhead but it takes the edge off it. Too bad that he can't get Bailey out of his mind and it sure doesn't help that they have weirdly gentle encounters when they don't antagonize one another.

“No wonder you’re single.”
I gave him a look that would have made a lesser man’s balls jump back up inside him.
“You’re cold through and through. You haven’t got anything real to offer a woman. Nothing but money. And sooner or later they’ll realize not even money is worth a lifetime of nothing.”
It was harsh. It was horrible. And it was all about me, not him. Immediately I wanted to take the words back, but they were out there. Me and my stupid no brain-to-mouth filter. Like the ice I’d accused him of being, Vaughn’s expression turned an arctic level of cool.
“I’m single because I want to be, Miss Hartwell. Unlike you I’m strong enough to be alone rather than settle for mediocre. But then like attracts like, doesn’t it.”

*wince*

To say that Vaughn was an ambivalent character is an understatement. He is vulnerable and deep on one hand but also hard and sometimes cold on the outside. He definitely has a tendency to be a jerk. The things he did and said didn't always make sense to me. In once scene, after putting Bailey through an emotional wringer, he is taken aback that Bailey doesn't trust him, when only a couple weeks earlier they were making each other's life hard by being spiteful with one another. On the other hand he has very sweet moments and makes his girl feel special and protected.

“I’m sorry. I have a bad habit of being a bastard to you.”
Bailey’s eyebrows rose at his admission. And then something rueful and mischievous glinted in those beautiful eyes of hers.
“Maybe that’s because I have a bad habit of being a bitch to you.”

Bailey is a firecracker. With her the theme is "what you see is what you get". Censoring her thoughts doesn't work for her. She is confrontational and a straight talker and her nose is pretty much in everybody's business. And while this is true for most of the book she too had a couple of situations in which she acted a bit out of character and not the way I expected her to. The scene when Vaughn comes back from New York in particular. And again, while these are things that didn't add up in my book I still liked her as a person.

There was a lot to love about this story. Especially the detail of the small town descriptions made me feel like I belonged. As if I were right in the middle of it being another of the nosy towns people, watching Bailey and Vaughn standing off.
I loved the secondary characters and I definitely can't wait to get my hands on Emery's and Jack's story. I'd also like to know what happened to Daliah. I want to go back and read Jess' and Cooper's story. I fell in love with them although they were only side characters.

“I want you to watch out for Bailey. I know you do anyway, but I’m specifically talking about this Rex person.” He narrowed his eyes. “I don’t like the sound of him, Lawson.”
His friend took a slow, casual sip of his coffee and studied Vaughn until he was almost squirming.
“Well?” Vaughn snapped.
“I was just wondering.”
“What?”
“If it’s uncomfortable.”
“If what’s uncomfortable?”
“Having your head that far up your ass.”

Altogether this was an enjoyable read and it made me curious to learn more about the town and the people in it. Samantha Young's spellbinding writing held me interested throughout the story and despite all my reservations it did make for a captivating read.

Bailey Hartwell liked a little dirt in bed. No lily-white princess. Loyal. Fierce. Protective. Kind. Strong. Funny. Sassy. Sexy. And goddamn perfect for him in bed.

Bailey and Vaughn didn’t start on the right foot. They disliked each other from the first moment and they stayed that away for the couple of years after. Everything changes when Bailey’s 10 years relationship ends and some events put them together. That’s when they realize they may have more in common than they though… and they may not hate each other as much as they also thought.

I’m going to start by saying Samantha Young books. “On Dublin Street” it’s one of my favorite series and I’m starting to think this one will be as well. This was a very sweet book, well-written, engaging and although there was a bit of “back and forth” with the hero, which definitely annoyed me, it was a great reading. I’m definitely keeping up with this series.
If you’re looking for a steamy and engaging contemporary romance this one is definitely a good choice. (I would advise to start from the first book, although it’s not necessary.)

Characters Development: I really liked Bailey, she was strong and didn’t hold back, she said it exactly as she saw it and I do love that. And although sometimes she did say things she probably shouldn’t have, I love how patient and understanding she was with Vaughn on the moments he behaved like an asshole. Vaughn was sexy in that powerful guy in suit way and he definitely had some issues that made him closed off and behave like an idiot at times, but once he finally decided what he wanted, he was amazing!

3.5 Angst Filled Stars

Every Little Thing is a standalone and is part of the Hart’s Boardwalk series. Think small town with cute people. I really enjoyed Vaughan in Every Little Thing. We got a little glimpse of him and what’s not to love, he’s a business man from New Work and he owns hotels. I love me a successful Hero.

Bailey owns a little inn with her sister and Bailey works really hard to keep her place going. She’s a spitfire and independent woman. The tension between Vaughan and Bailey was crazy.

This book was filled with angst. The whole time I was rooting for the couple to get it together. Vaughan and Bailey have feelings for each other, but Vaughan is very guarded. He sees how much his father loved his mother and doesn’t want to feel that hurt, should anything happen to his woman.

I really do love the fact Vaughan has such a good role model, but he was frustrating at times. I kind of wanted to tell him to leave Bailey alone if he didn’t want to offer her more. Vaughan may be hot and cold, but he is a good man.

Every Little Thing reads easier than The One Real Thing, but I did find that there was a lot of side story. You get a lot of meat on the other characters and how they interact with the main couple. I was rushing to read more of Vaughan and Bailey and when I did get them it was a little treat.

Overall, I enjoyed the book, but I’m not a huge fan of angst. I love it in moderation, but oh boy did Vaughn frustrate me. I still love Samantha Young and I’ll never stop reading her books.

We all remember Bailey and Vaughn. We already met and fell for them in the first book in this series. The One Real Thing
Bailey runs the Boardwalk's old Inn and Vaughn opened a new luxury hotel on the other end of the Boardwalk three years ago.
And they were always coexisting in town. Not friends, not liking each other much, but okay with each other. Because both don't want the horrible Devlin family to buy out all business and destroy their beloved Boardwalk.
But there's also this huge attraction on both sides. But Bailey has been with Tom for ten years, and Vaughn doesn't do relationships.
But now things with Tom are changing drastically!!!!
Could now be the time for Bailey and Vaughn? They're old enough to finally settle down.
But they can't be within two feet of each other without arguing and hurting each other with their words....

Will we get our happily ever after??
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT! ☺

FINALLY!
Finally it's Bailey's & Vaughn's turn to get their Happily Ever After!!!
And it was perfect!
They fight and argue and throw hurtful words at each other. But that's all some huge foreplay for them!

The man I thought I might have been waiting for my whole life.
All this time he'd been standing right in front of me, wearing a suit and a sexy-ass smirk.

They fell for each other a long time ago, but they don't want to admit it to themselves.
Which is mega-adorable for us to read!
One might think at age 34 an 36 people would be grown-up enough to get their love-life straightend out....but those two. They're both running scared!

But of course their budding romance is not the only trouble in town. The Devlins are still trying to buy every business - and they don't shy away from using illegal and scary and idiotic tactics to do that.
Then there's business. Family. Exes. Friends.
Lots of troubles for our darlings to overcome until they can ride off into their happily ever after sunset.

I love that this is a more mature series. Those couples are all in their thirties .... we don't have any immature 21-year-olds running around. Even though I'm already waiting for little Joey's book once he's all grown up!! ☺

I loved that we got to see all the other people in town again.
I complained about that a bit in the first book. We were introduced to so many people and so many future stories, which made that first book way too long. I still loved it, but I loved this one more. All those people are still in it, but now that we know and love them, we don't care that the book is pretty long - we don't ever want this series to end! ☺

I can't wait to see what the next book will bring us - there's Delilah & mysterious Michael and mega-shy Emery and former? bad-guy Jack Devlin!!!!
GIMMEE!!!!

EVERY LITTLE THING was such an adorable & funny & sexy & exciting lovestory! Run to your nearest amazon for your own Vaughn - this on is MINE!!!

Vaughan is just amazing

I was so looking forward to this book. Vaughan and Bailey came crashing together in the last book The Line Real Thing which was brilliant by the way. There sexual tension was crazy. I thought they hated each other after the way Bailey was with him but you could see that there was something behind the arguments the horrible comments. So as you can tell I was dyin for this book.

Bailey is a brilliant character she would do anything for anyone she was so caring independent and very loyal. Everyone on the Boardwalk luvd her. Hartwell meant everything to her she had grown up there with her family and the inn where she worked and owned had been her mum and dad's both her. Bailey owns the inn with her to siblings Vanessa and Charlie but Bailey is the one that ran and put her blood sweat and tears into the place. Her brother and sister didn't want the inn. So they left it to Bailey to run and make it her own and she had done an awesome job. Until things on the Boardwalk changed and this is where Vaughan Tremaine came in.

Vaughan is a very successful business man from New York . He as a few hotels dotted around and he as worked hard to make they what they are today. They are all high class establishment. So when he moved to Hartwell didn't expect to get the the welcoming he got. Bailey didn't play nice with Vaughan she didn't like the way he came to the Boardwalk with his fancy hotel he was a threat to get business and she didn't like that and with her being the princess of the Boardwalk people listened. So there relationship wasnt great she thought he seen her as a nobody in a lil town. But after 10 years they both started seeing each other a lil different after someone had betrayed Bailey and Vaughan was there to help.

These two characters were great I really liked them. They are two very different people but made a great couple. It took them forever to realize this and I was dyin to shout at both of them in parts. They just needed to get there act together and stop thinking about there pasts and look what was in front of them. They were so hot together once they would let there guards down a lil. There attraction just got stronger and stronger for each other. It was getting harder to keep there guards up. But there past would always come and spoil things for them.

I really enjoyed this book. Once I started I could put it down it was so good. The story is just brilliant and it kept me in my toes throughout the whole and still left me wanting more from the rest of the characters. I m dyin to know how the next book is about. As you can tell I luvd the characters. I find this author really knows how give me great strong sexy protective men and Vaughan is one of these. I thought Cooper was hot from the first book but Vaughan was just as good. It was great to see his character change. This series is great and I just know the rest is going to be just as good I really can't wait for more I highly recommend it xxx

EVERY LITTLE THING is the second book in the Hart’s Boardwalk series by Samantha Young. I used to enjoy Young’s writing before but I’ve come to realize that may her books are now missing that magical element that ON DUBLIN STREET had. I just can’t get into her characters anymore. She seems to have a thing for unlikeable characters because the opening scene is of the hero who has just finished sleeping with some no-name redhead but is thinking/looking at another woman. He then promptly goes back to the woman in his bed and tells her “it’s time to leave.” Ugh. Now unattractive.

I persisted though, hoping that there would be so redeeming quality about Vaughn. When he encounters the heroine for the first time, he picks up her lingerie and teases her about it. Then he says something rude that she obviously is offended by. The next scene is from his POV where he thinks about apologizing but doesn’t. As you can tell, I’m over asshole heroes. I don’t like them in real life and I don’t like them in my books. Sadly, this isn’t the first hero that Young had written like this and I didn’t like that book either. So if this is something that will continue in the series, I’m out. Sorry but I just can’t deal.

Another thing that really annoyed me is the fact that all the hero’s POVs are written in third person while the heroine’s is in first. I know this author isn’t the first person to do this, but while other people have pulled it off, I just couldn’t get on board with it. It makes Bailey’s POVs seem so juvenile in comparison like she is a small child while Vaughn is much more mature and sophisticated.

Sadly, I didn’t enjoy this book. The backdrop of the beach would’ve been nice if it actually had more significance in the book. So I don’t think I will be continuing on with this series or this author.

There is not much more exciting as a reader and/or blogger than meeting a book you’ve been dying to read or an author whose work you’ve wanted to meet for a while. The giddy delight I get when I meet a new or new-to-me author’s words is BOOKWORM BLISS! That rush during that initial read is off-the-charts incredible! I finally popped my Samantha Young book cherry after embarrassingly hoarding her books for years…yes…YEARS!!! Oh what a beautiful and brilliant book Every Little Thing was from beginning to end!!!

Maybe because it’s because I grew up going to Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware beaches. Maybe it’s because the setting of this story at a Delaware beach hit home. I could picture myself walking the boardwalk in Every Little Thing because I’ve walked the boardwalks in Ocean City, Maryland, and Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. This story stirred my senses because I’m a beach lover who takes in everything while there. Through this book, I smelled the salty air, felt the waves crash into me, watched the tides of the ocean swing back and forth like a pendulum, and tasted the seafood fresh from the water.

I fell in INSTANT LOVE with Every Little Thing, an achingly addictive love story that held me hard, humoring me…heating my body…hijacking my heart…HIJACKING ME. The entertaining and enticing writing was delicious…a delight to devour. I devoured Every Little Thing as if it were my drug, so ALLURING, AMUSING, and ACHINGLY ADDICTIVE. This was a book that I could not stop breathing.

Bailey Hartwell, the fire-red haired beauty with green eyes and a sassy mouth, was THE BEST HEROINE! I LOVED HER!!! Hilarious and blunt as can be, this gal has no filter and oh was she refreshing and real! She is brazen and not afraid to call people or things out as she sees fit with her quick wit.

This feisty and fierce heroine is used to calling the shots, being in control…until Vaughn Tremaine moves into her beach town. Tall, dark, and handsome with grey eyes, Vaughn is pompous, an implant from New York, a successful business owner, a know-it-all. He lives for control too and can’t help but stir up the spicy red-haired siren.

For years, Bailey and Vaughn walk a fine line between friends and enemies, frenemies, with an emphasis on enemy. The banter between them was a fusion of heat and hate. This book BURNED with BANTER and BLED ANGST where I could not get enough!

“Always so complimentary, Tremaine. It’s a wonder you don’t have a trail of panting ladies following after you. Oh, wait a second. It’s not.”

“I’m single because I want to be, Miss Hartwell. Unlike you, I’m strong enough to be alone rather than settle for mediocre. But then like attracts like, doesn’t it.”

Bastard.

These two together, a lethal mix of fire and ice, were EVERYTHING! I LOVED the combustible connection between Bailey and Vaughn, enticing and emotionally-charged. Opposites who definitely attract.

Vaughn looked at me like he wanted me. I knew there was power in my smile but wow.

I giggled and glowed, and ached in need. Vaughn made me a wanton woman. Oh did I LOVE THIS ALPHA!!!

"I bet you've thought about it. F**king the hostile Princess of the Boardwalk into submission."

“You have no idea.”

His mouth slammed down on mine, his kiss hard, punishing, almost painful.

For once, the Princess of Hartwell wants to relinquish control to Ice Man, Vaughn.
That kiss is HOT!!! That kiss is years of pent-up passion that exploded, fast and furiously, where I could feel its impact through the pages. That kiss is molten lava, which melted me from head to toe. That kiss sparked a fire that never may be extinguished between Bailey and Vaughn.

I felt like he could see into my soul and that I could finally see into his.

The beauty in these words touched my soul where I SWOONED so much!!!

“I like you at a distance.”

The problem is...Vaughn doesn’t do relationships.

In that moment, I almost hated him.

Bailey wants the happily ever after with Vaughn. She may have finally found a man who’s her equal, who takes her fire and cools it off with ice.

“I’m not the one running scared now, princess.”

The push and pull…the back and forth…the hot and cold…this prince needs to get his act together and finally claim his princess before she flees like Cinderella at the ball.

Every Little Thing swept me up like an ocean breeze, where I felt the ocean air, and smelled the salty water. I was immersed into a small town of intimate characters who quickly captured my heart. This enchanting and entertaining story set in a small town awakens all of the senses in a love story brought to life. Samantha Young flawlessly transports you to a small beach town with characters that come to life, immersing you so deep that you'll blend right in with the locals, and your heart will belong to Hart's Inn.

Every Little Thing is a smoldering, scintillating, and sweet enemies-to-lovers romance that makes your heart dance and your soul swoon. I SMOLDERED and SWOONED while MY SOUL SOARED HIGH and my heart was hit like a big wave by this beach town romance. This story OWNED EVERY OUNCE OF ME! Every Little Thing DELIVERS BIG TIME!

Every Little Thing is the best vacation without leaving your home! This romance was my beach escape in a book. Like the beach, Every Little Thing was my HAPPY PLACE, and it felt like heaven and home. I’m still dreaming of a little Delaware beach town called Hartwell where the waves are waiting and the characters are calling me home. Dreamy and delightful, enthralling, and exquisite, Every Little Thing is MAGIC, and I’m still melting from its spell.

[EN] They have hated each other for four years, ever since Vaughn decided to invade Bailey’s town with a fancy five-star hotel. But let’s be honest, it’s just not hatred between them because there’s also a lot of heat in there that has been hidden only because of Bailey’s boyfriend. But when Bailey catches her boyfriend cheating on her, Vaughn decides to show her how the fire between them, is actually a lot more than that.

Thank you Berkley Romance for providing an ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

On the previous book of The Hart's Boardwalk series (The One Real Thing), there are two characters that stood out for me: Vaughn Tremaine and Bailey Hartwell. These two don't get along well but the tension they created was palpable and it made me more curious so bad.

Bailey Hartwell is a fiery, passionate, independent and kindhearted woman. Everyone knows her because her ancestors are founders of their small town and she owns the Hartwell's Inn. She's warm to everyone except for Vaughn Tremaine, the cold, rich, arrogant and sexy owner of Paradise Sands Hotel. She is against him from the beginning as he expands his business from New York to her beloved town. However, Vaughn wasn't fazed by her snarky comments about him. He finds this carefree woman interesting and can't help being attracted to her.

I knew their story will be more interesting. They're undeniably attracted with each other, the constant push-pull and banters heightened their chemistry which made their romance steamier. At some point these two frustrated me and despite of it, I love their character developments. It's great they worked on their personal and trust issues. It's nice to see Bailey loosen up to Vaughn and gave him a chance. He's a lovely and devoted man.

Overall, I enjoyed it so much and I'm looking forward to read the upcoming books in this series. Samantha Young delivers another romantic and passionate story. Crossing my fingers the next one will be Jack and Emery's story.

4.5 stars!

I loved the first book in this series, The One Real Thing. Not only was it a wonderful story, but I fell in love with the town of Hartwell and its residents and I have been so excited to dive back into this world – this time for the story of Bailey and Vaughn (this book can also easily be read as a standalone).

Bailey Hartwell is all kinds of awesome. She runs her family’s popular, much-loved inn on Hart’s Boardwalk, and has a close circle of friends that she loves dearly. She is bold and confident, she speaks her mind (which I love!), she has a huge heart, and is fiercely protective of her friends and her town.

Vaughn Tremaine is a wealthy businessman who moved to Hartwell from New York City. He is a hotel magnate, and from the moment he came to town with plans to build a hotel on the boardwalk, he and Bailey have been enemies. She didn’t want him in her town, he came in and built his hotel anyway. It’s been three years and they still can’t hold a civil conversation – antagonising each other at every available opportunity.

When Bailey’s life takes an unexpected turn, it becomes a huge wake up call for her and she finally takes a close look at Vaughn – at her reaction to him, and his to her – and she realises that there is more to their epic cold war than she realised.

We were two people who were attracted to each other and didn’t want to be.
Of course there was going to be hostility.
And here I thought he was just a dick.

OMG, I love this relationship! The enemies-to-lovers trope is a favourite of mine and this one is fantastic! Full of chemistry, banter, and heated glares, I could feel everything that was building between them. The book is written in dual POV so we know exactly what both of them are feeling, and I love that Bailey is the one to step up and finally make a move on the man that intrigues her and makes her burn like no other.

“Take me into my room, Vaughn. Take control so I don’t have to. I want you to. I want you to lay me down on that bed and take what you want. You want to right?” I looked deep into his hard eyes and shivered at the heat I found in them. “I bet you’ve thought about it. Fucking the hostile Princess of the Boardwalk into submission.”

And Vauhgn! Who would have thought the smooth, controlled and seemingly cold businessman was actually so freaking hot!!! He brings that control into the bedroom, but when he gets revved up, watch out! The man is all passion and fire, and the sexy time is absolutely steaming!

Hot as fuck.
Bailey Harwell liked a little dirt in bed.
No lily-white princess.
Loyal. Fierce. Protective. Kind. Strong. Funny. Sassy. Sexy. And goddamn perfect for him in bed.

But despite their red-hot passion for each other, their story is not an easy one. There are personal issues which stop them from throwing themselves all-in and there is some back and forth, but it’s written really well, and their history of more than three years of animosity laced with sexual tension only adds to intensity of everything that is happening between them. It’s a deliciously angsty ride as we watch Bailey and Vaughn fight the inevitable, but the culmination of all of that build-up is well worth the wait. Their love story is beautifully romantic, epically swoony and super hot!

“I didn’t want to want you.”
“I didn’t want to want you, either, but I did.” Vaughn stepped closer to me. “you are everything I’ve never known, I fell in love with you a long time ago, princess. I’ve tried to fight it, but I can’t, and I don’t want to anymore.”

And once they make the decision to be together, there is no stupid and no unnecessary drama pulling them apart. They are committed and functional, and very much in love, and I love that!

The rest of the Boardwalk crew are a big part of the story, as are Bailey and Vaughn’s families, and I loved the introduction of new characters, we well as catching up with those that we have already met. I especially loved how everybody was all involved in Bailey and Vaughn’s business as they all watched the drama unfold.

“I was wondering.”
“What?”
“If it’s uncomfortable.”
“If what’s uncomfortable?”
“Having your head that far up your ass.”
“You’re a real comedian today, Lawson.”
“You’re making it easy for me.”

There’s also the ongoing saga of the Devlin family and their plans to get a hold of the Boardwalk. It impacts on both Bailey and Vaughn, and creates a nice sense of tension, and I like the over-arching storyline that it brings to the series – as well as the hints of things to come.

I loved this book. It’s a fantastic blend of humour, drama, angst, and sexy, intense romance. Bailey and Vaughn’s story sucked me in from the very start and I was hooked all the way through. There are hints given to future books, and both Emery and Dahlia’s stories look like they’re going to be amazing! I cannot wait for more!

I stared up at him. “I love you more than I’ve ever loved anyone. It scares the living daylights out of me.”
He grinned. Huge. A boyish, wicked grin that made me feel like my heart might burst out of my chest. “Welcome to my world.”

*swoon*

Reading a Samantha Young book is always such a pleasant experience. She has yet to disappoint me, and with Every Little Thing, she was written another strong romance novel with some fantastic characters. I love that I can always count on her to deliver a swoony read.

I have been waiting for Bailey and Vaughn’s story ever since we met them and their antagonistic chemistry in The One Real Thing. I just knew that their story would be explosive and it certainly was. I really adored both Bailey and Vaughn as characters here. Bailey, especially, was the perfect blend of feisty and vulnerable. I loved how passionate and driven she was about her inn. And her absolute loyalty to her friends was the sweetest. While Bailey was vivacious, Vaughn was more on the quiet, stoic side. We get to see a lot of him here, and being inside his mind was quite the experience. He was a lot more emotional than I expected, and I liked that a lot. He had his moments where I wanted to slap some senses into him, but for the most part, Vaughn was a spectacularly sexy hero, who sure knew how to make a girl weak in the knees.

The antagonistic chemistry between Bailey and Vaughn was terrific as expected. I will say that their relationship was a bit on the bumpy side at first, but it wasn’t the annoying kind because these two had to grow to trust each other. Their romance was slow, but oh my goodness did it have a lot of achy tension that had my heart racing. I loved watching them become comfortable and finding solace with one another. As much I love the steamy scenes in any romance novel, it’s always the emotional connection that hooks me into the story and Bailey and Vaughn form a strong one with a ton of depth. I couldn’t help but be invested in this ship.

I also loved the beachy setting of Hartwell. There’s just something about small town romances that I find very cozy. This series also has a terrific secondary cast, and I especially enjoyed all the female friendships – these girls know how to have fun and to be there for each other. It was also exciting to see sneak-peeks at the next couples. I am seriously hoping that Emery and Jack aren’t just a couple that I ship, but that Samantha Young will actually write their story. I NEED it to happen.

Samantha Young is a favorite author of mine, and she has yet to disappoint with her books. Fans of romances with a large cast, sexy romances and a lot of feels should definitely consider reading Every Little Thing. Trust me, it’s an enthralling read in every way.

I am hopelessly charmed by Samantha Young’s delightful town of Hartwell. Its idyllic setting and charismatic residents make for a wonderful accoutrement to a series that continues to enamour with every novel read.

Bailey Hartwell’s ancestry is woven into the fabric of the town. She’s fiercely protective of its heritage and the people in it. As the owner of the local Inn her competition and adversary is wealthy hotelier, Vaughn Tremaine. Their well-documented disdain for another stems from Bailey’s distrust in him and his intentions. As much as Vaughn may feign interest, he’s irritated that he can’t quite the feisty Inn keeper off his mind.

What could have been a straight forward enemies to lovers story is further characterised by a personal journey they both take. It’s fair to say there were some frustrating decisions made on both ends, but I felt it added to the angst in their story.

As it seems to be the trend in this series Samantha sets the scene for the supporting characters to receive the Hartwell treatment. I have my fingers and toes crossed for Emery and Jack. I’m already in love with Emery and I all but smell a redemptive story for Jack.

I've been looking forward to Bailey and Vaughn's story since The One Real Thing. They have this tangible chemistry wrapped in animosity that was enjoyable to watch. So my expectations were set very high.

For the most part, my expectations were met. I enjoyed their hateful banter and the fact they're obviously hot for each other. But their romance was uneven for me. They spent so much time sniping and hating each other throughout the book that the romance kinda fell by the wayside for me. One of the reasons why I feel like the romance lacked was the fact that Bailey had a lot of shit to deal with. From her crazy sister to her inn and the Devlins...and oh, throw in some ex in there too. It was too much. Vaughn also has his hands full. And while the last few chapters did deliver on the sweet romance side it felt a little bit too late. It was still good but I wish there had been more of it.

Despite that, I find myself falling more and more in love with the people of Hartwell. I'm so curious about Jack Devlin. I hope we'll get his story. And oh, Bailey's bestie too. I can already feel the angst on that one.

While romance fell short for me, I still enjoyed reading this book. Samantha Young has a way of pulling you into her world and never letting you go. This series has already captured my attention and I won't stop until I've read every single story of this series.

I have another cover on my paperback it's also beautiful but I like this one more! Glad I could finally read this paperback, thank heavens for weekends!

I enjoyed this one so much! As all my friends know I love enemies to lovers stories so much!

Samantha Young had me captivated from the start and I felt all the feelings Bailey and Vaughn felt!

The dislike I felt for Vanessa Baileys sis wasn't small. Damn even know I get irritated with thinking about her..

Vaughn and Bailey danced a lot around each other but their journey was worth it all!

For me I wanted more Stu closure..

Very excited to read about Dahlia and Emery!

One little disliking is that Vaughns part is in third person, this was also the case with Cooper.. But since Bailey was more up front it was easier to overlook it.

"You are a big fish in a small pond."

"I'm a fucking shark in the ocean."

After meeting Bailey and Vaughn in the first book, I couldn't wait to get to their story. Bailey is so in your face and Vaughn is so reserved that I just knew there would be fireworks and indeed, there were.

Essentially, Bailey and Vaughn love to hate each other and badger each other every chance they get. Things start to change after Bailey walks in on her boyfriend of ten years having sex with a colleague's much younger girlfriend.

A few other things happen and Vaughn just happens to be there...like the stalker he is. But being there for Bailey helps turn things around. That and deciding to do what she wants leads Bailey to take what she wants and boy, is it steamy!

However, Vaughn has some issues...no surprise there, and feels that if Bailey is with him, he will only hurt her. So he shuts down, and shuts down hard. Definitely not what Bailey needed.

description

There's some situations to cause the other to be jealous and some issues with Bailey's sugar daddy lovin' sister, Vanessa, that have to be dealt with. Luckily, Vaughn really pulls through.

I loved Vaughn's relationship with his father and how they helped each other and I was happy that Vaughn was able to man up.

I loved how...and where...it ended and then the epilogue was even sweeter.

I enjoyed getting updates on the other couple and the other characters. What I didn't enjoy was Jack...OMG, seriously? Not sure that I can be okay with that but I was right about who I thought he would end up with (or who it is seeming to be at the moment!).

And there's a new sheriff in town, Jeff King, sooo...maybe he will be the man for Cat? ;)

But....but!!, I cannot wait for Dahlia's book. That surprise encounter has heartbreak written all over it! I hope their book is next!

Vaughn and Bailey

5 STARS!

☾Ahh so cute! Ever since I read On Dublin Street by Samantha Young, I have been hooked on her books! While this is completely different than that book, her writing still gives me the same feeling.

☾Bailey is a really kickass character! She's beloved by her small town, currently with her boyfriend of 10 years (hoping I'm remembering correctly), and owns a popular inn that she loves with everything she has. After her boyfriend cheats on her, she finds herself captured with the towns playboy businessman, Vaughn Tremaine. In all honestly I wasn't a fan of his name at first but it somehow fits his personality!¿

☾Vaughn is your typical rich playboy, but the side that we don't see from him is his vulnerable side. This only comes out with Bailey, the girl he's crushed on forever! Due to his past, he feels he can't give Bailey why he deserves and therefore pushes her away.

☾This book is really just 70% foreplay 10% Evil sister rivalry and 20% Vaughn unable to get his shit together. I'm not complaining though :)

3.5 Stars
Bailey and Vaughn’s story was great! I already knew they had amazing chemistry from book 1 and in Every Little Thing it just multiplied. The enemies vibe they had going on gave me some awesome banter which was the perfect build up to the explosion of the two them in bed together. They had a difficult time finally getting their act together and just communicate which is also why I struggled a bit with the story. Them not talking and being apart dragged on for too long.
Luckily it didn’t ruin my enjoyment too much because the other characters from Hart’s Boardwalk were just as good. I couldn’t ask for a better ensemble. Dahlia’s book is next in the series and based on what happened in ELT I can’t wait to find out more about her and Michael.

3.5 Enemies-to-lovers Stars!

I went into Every Little Thing rather blind by not reading the first book in the Hart's Boardwalk series. That being said, this can be read as a standalone novel, though I'd have enjoyed getting the entire background of the town and cast of characters. Obviously our two main characters, Bailey and Vaughn are introduced in that first book, or rather their rather tumultuous hatred for each other... An enemies-to-lovers romance, Every Little Thing captivated both romance, friendship, family, and coastal small town quaintness.

Vaughn Tremaine is a wealthy hotelier in small town Hartwell, Delaware. Having built one of the few newer construction buildings within the city limits was a feat within itself, especially coming up again the Princess of Hartwell, Bailey Hartwell. Her family owns the quaint inn on the boardwalk and their start was rocky at best. She hated Vaughn, the wolf in Armani, and all his arrogance and money but his hotel was built nonetheless. Ah, but still no love-loss between them.

“Just because you can be a bitch, Bailey, doesn’t mean you’re not an interesting one.”

“I’m only a bitch to people who are assholes.” She downed the rest of her wine. She didn’t ask for more, however. Instead she placed the glass out of her way and leaned back on the palms of her hands.

"As always you flatter me.”

“Why are you an asshole, Tremaine?”

I love that push and pull angsty feeling of an enemies-to-lovers trope. Bailey is all town sweetheart, quick to lend a hand or volunteer for charities. Vaughn, on the other hand, is more uptight, aloof- a stick prominently shoved up his arse on most occasions. But with all their banter, the chemistry between the two of them is palpable. And once Bailey is back on the market, Vaughn finds himself interested. If only he did relationships. He does not...

An enjoyable, easy-reading romance, Every Little Thing has piqued my interest for the entire cast of characters in the Hart's Boardwalk series. It's a town full of loyalty, pride, and gossip. And I can't wait to see who falls in love next...

Every Little Thing was romantic, enjoyable and with a very delectable Alpha-Male hero that will make you crazy with lust.

Bailey is the sassy redhead who owns the Inn in town, and Vaughn is the sexy hotelier who just moved into town after opening his first hotel in the boardwalk. Bailey and Vaughn didn't get off to a great start when they first met, because Bailey is very protective of keeping the legacy of the town intact, and Vaughn was a thread with his new five star hotel.

These two characters were explosive together. They loved and hated each other with the same intensity. When Bailey discovered that her boyfriend of ten years have been cheating on her, and another jerk millionaire is trying to steal her Inn from under her, she is feeling vulnerable and lost, bringing her guard down she realizes that Vaughn is not as bad as she thinks.

Vaughn will turn from villain to hero overnight, but is he ready to admit to his real feelings for Bailey?

Every Little Thing is the first book I read from this series. While I enjoyed the plot and it's characters, it did feel like there was something missing, or maybe it just felt like I already have read something like this before. Regardless of the lack of uniqueness, this is a very talented author and the book did keep my interest throughout. I would recommend this book to anybody looking a romantic weekend read.
