New Bloom by A.E. Gamrat is a Coming of Age book about a young girl facing real life struggles. I have read the second book before this one but I highly recommend that you read this one first. The second book will make a lot more sense and will enrich your enjoyment from this series. I enjoy this author's books so far. Her writing style is creative and easy flowing. She can take real life struggles and bring them to life. Her characters took me on an emotional roller coaster ride that I had a hard time putting down. She will pull you in right from the being of this book and keep you engaged until the last page. This about Gwen and her life. Gwen is just graduating from college and is about to learn about life. She has always followed her mother's rules which left her no time for boys. She has a perfectly planned out future but the problem is that she doesn't know how to let loose. She doesn't know how to have fun. As her future plans start falling apart, he walks into the flower shop. She is confused by the feelings he is making her feel, she has never felt them before. Is she ready for what life is about to throw at her? I loved Gwen's character. I didn't like how sheltered she was but it does make the story. To me she is a confused young adult that needs to learn what life is about. She just wants her independence from her mother, giving her a chance to live life. I didn't necessarily care for the mother in this story. Her character changed a lot in this story and I just wanted to yell at her a few times, asking her what she thought she was doing. The other characters in this book as supportive and real to life. They really do seem to care what happens to Gwen. I highly recommend this book. Find out what happens to Gwen as she learns what life is all about.

Overall, this is a well written story with interesting, and complex characters that had me wanting more. It took a couple chapters for me to get into the story, but once that happened the pages seem to flyby. I was really getting into the story with nothing really resolved when the story ended on a cliffhanger. I would much prefer seeing the complete story available or at least some warning this was a story in parts. I do want to find out what happens so will be looking for the follow up book.

I received a copy of this book from the author, my review has been voluntarily submitted.

I was completely new to A.E. Gamrat when I first picked up “New Bloom”. I saw the absolutely gorgeous cover and just had to know what the story was that laid on the pages between them. I am so glad that I picked it up. I do have to say, it was a bit slow on the uptake at first. Once I did get into the story however, I was hooked and very grateful that the second book, “Eternal Bloom” is already available to read.

In “New Bloom” we are first introduced to Gwen. We really get the feel for her as she starts life after college. Before I really get into where this is a coming of age story and how she finds herself and her place in life I want to touch on another part of the story that really hit home with me. Ok here’s the deal, Gwen is an only child, but she also struggles with a lot of issues that an oldest child often deals with. I saw this struggle because I am the oldest daughter of three. I also saw her side of being an only child as I have just one daughter. We often tend to expect a lot of our single children as parents. Especially, those of us who wanted more, but were not able to for some reason or another. It is a struggle that I have faced a lot in my lifetime. I am not making excuses for the character her mother is. (She is a wreck and not very good with the motherly instinct. I was really struggling to not scream out loud at this woman several times.) However, I know that this is my only chance, my only time to experience motherhood and all its firsts. I won’t get a redo, or another go around. I could see where her mother was struggling with that and projecting it on her daughter throughout both of these novels. This was just as much of a strong prevalent story line in the novels as the coming of age story that was portrayed with Gwen.

With that said, this really sets the tone for things. Gwen has been groomed her whole life to be the prefect daughter. Now that she has graduated college that expectation really hasn’t changed, and she is now moving home to help out with her parents flower shop. Gwen is trying hard to find her own voice and balance her relationships. She is struggling to figure out how to do all of these things and still be everything to everyone. Then a new relationship is added to the mix when the mysterious and handsome Kame walks into the flower shop and her life one day. Something isn’t quite what it seems about him though… Watch out for that cliffhanger. Like I said though the second book, “Eternal Bloom”, is available now.

First of all, I love the cover. It’s so eye catching and beautiful!
New Bloom is the debut novel by A.E Gamrat. It is a sweet, emotive, coming of age story with a touch of romance.
Gwen has had her life mapped out for her by her parents. Her sheltered existence hasn’t really allowed her to experience the things that other people her age have. She doesn’t like to make waves, so she goes along with it all. She has a lot of expectation and responsibility to burden. Her mother is pretty hard, distant and controlling- which places a strain on their relationship.
Even though she’d attended college, working in her parent’s flower shop is her past present and future. Again, she wasn’t going to rock the boat.
Then Kame comes into her life and has her questioning everything….
What happens? You will have to read the book to discover all the details for yourself. No spoilers from me….
I did have some trouble connecting with Gwen to begin with, and the story was a little slow to get going. But over all it was a nice read!

Thank you, Ms. Gamrat!

An enjoyable short start to what sounds like an interesting series. I’m not sure what to completely think of this story yet as there’s too many unanswered questions.
Some of the characters are a little over the top. I was hoping to maybe get Kame’s POV to learn more about his character as well. The story was just lacking a little depth and interaction with the characters and their relationship.
Overall it wasn’t bad and held my interest I’d be interested to see what happens next as the book just kind of ended in a cliff hanger.

I received an ARC for an honest review. This is a debut novel for this author, and I must say, that this was not a disappointment at all. This is a contemporary romance. This is Gwen’s story about how she has been expected her whole life to do whatever her parents told her to do, whether she is happy about this or not. When Kane comes into her life she begins to question life as she knows it, and to realise that enough is enough!
I found this story a tad slow to begin with, but in my opinion this author has done an amazing job in writing this storyline, and she has the ability to have the reader engrossed throughout. Be warned that this book does end in a cliffhanger, and I for one, am looking forward to reading the next book

~~I received this in exchange for my honest opinion~~

New Bloom is a finding yourself book. Gwen has followed the rules all her life, one day, she just stops. but those changes have consequences.

This is the first book that I have read by A.E. and it isn't going to be the last. A.E. writes beautifully. She leaves you needing more. The book flows really well. Characters are really well developed, and you get sucked in. You will not be disappointed in this book at all.

a great read about not letting others control your life. Gwen returns home from college in the hopes of getting some experience at her parents business. But when she returns, her mother is even stricter than before. Gwen tries to carry on but soon tensions rise as she tries to be her own person despite her mothers reign over everything. when events escalate, will Gwen be able to fight for what she wants or get trampled by her mothers expectations?
a great read. well developed plot. A.E Gamrat use of small events spiralling things out of control create wonderful twists and turns in the plot. well developed characters such as Gwen with her strengths to try despite the odds and also her vulnerabilities of anxiety and rage. the sense of living life to the full and trying new things was beautifully written in a sense of adventure with its trepidations but would also be life changing. a brilliant supporting cast of sweet people such as Lena and how family isn't always related and also with her hilarious and easy going nature the novel needed. also Greg was written to perfection as a loving and caring and supportive father figure to Gwen. i also loved the use of colour in the flowers which was full fo stunning visual detail in the small busy shop environment. Gwens passion for flowers and being a florist was beautifully written with her love and enjoyment for it shining through. the settings of Cliffords were great with welcoming atmosphere and sense of community. the only issue i would raise is that it felt a little slow to start with long sentences which could have been reduced. The mother figure was extremely relatable with her manipulative nature and cold heart, but at times felt a little bit melodramatic and could be toned down a little. Overall, a great read and I would give it four stars.

New Bloom (Bloom Duet) by A.E. Gamrat was a coming of age story that will grip your feels and take you on a emotional rollercoaster.

My first read by this author, I didn't know what I was getting into, as I don't really read these types of books. But it's always good to get out of your comfort zone. I will say this book wasn't what I was expecting, and I do have some mixed feelings about it.

Let's start with some aesthetics, the writing was smooth, clean, and easy to follow. The detail was rich and painted a vivid picture of the world that A.E. Gamrat has created for us. I felt like I could jump in and be apart of the story. I loved how the tone shifts matched the scenes and added to that emotional kick that this story will give you.

Now, why do I have mixed feels. Well, it has to do with how sheltered our MC is. It was borderline abuse, and as someone who grew up in a very rural town, I'm talking the middle of nowhere, about 200 people give or take. I know what it's like to be sheltered. But at the sametime I wasn't naive about. There is just so much information in the world, that the way our MC was present it, made me feel like she was locked in a box most of her life. That part of it was a little, unrealistic for me. So I did have a hard time connecting at first. But she did grow on me as the story went on. Now the mother... she had more mood swings, and character shifts then I could shake a stick at. I didn't care for her, and frankly the I didn't feel much for her, just for Gwen.

Overall this book is a engaging, entertaining read that will hook you. The overall plot, and storytelling is addictive and you can't help but keep reading. So please take my high recommendation and my stamp of approval that you will get lost in this tale about what it is to grow up and make those adult like decisions.

Happy Reading

New Bloom by A.E. Gamrat

4 Stars

I read the 2nd book Eternal Bloom before I read this one and just wanted to get the whole story. You can read the 2nd first, I didn't feel like I missed out of too much while reading it, but now that I've read them both I really would recommend reading them in order.

This book follows the story of Gwen, she just graduated college and has moved back home, her whole life has been about making her parents happy, not that she is totally miserable but she is not one for disappointing anyone and that is especially true with her relationship with her mother, which seems to have changed since she was away at college. Now back from College she is expected to help out at the family flower shop, whether this is in her plans for her future or not, it is what she will do.

I loved her best friend Lena, who is always there for Gwen especially when she needs her the most, she's fun and reading the parts of the story with her in it made me lol in spots. I also really enjoyed the mysterious Kame, their first meeting was great.

I felt so bad for Gwen through most of this story, and that mother!! Oh my goodness, I have raised 4 daughters and it wasn't always wine, roses and cupcakes around our house, but if I were to be compared to the mother in this book I would have won Mother of the year every year. Maybe I should have my girls read this story LOL

I enjoyed this story, and it does end in a cliffhanger so make sure you have Eternal Bloom ready to go when your finished. I can't wait to read more from this author.

New Bloom is about a young woman fresh out of college and heading home to work in her parents flower business. Gwen is a book girl who has been working for her parents since she could after school and summer vacations . When she heads back after college things seem to have changed . Her mother is more distant and more it seems selfish . When someone new comes into Gwen's life her mother doesn't approve and things go down hill from there. Will they be able to put the feeling behind them or will Gwen and her mother never speak again.
This was a sweet story of a young woman coming of age and wanting to have her independence but also the love of her parents . The characters are well written but it does take you a bit to actually warm up to Gwen . Sometimes she kind of comes of whiny but she does pull out of it . Lena is her fun loving best friend who is there for Gwen when she is thrown out of her house . They are fun to read when they are together you can feel the mischief rolling off Lena .
The story starts of slow and you have an urge to put it down but don't it does pick up . There is a cliff hanger at the end but book two is out so you can dive right into it after book one . The story line is good but there are a few spelling errors that could be corrected. Over all I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to reading the second book . So if you like sweet coming of age stories this will be the one for you .

New Bloom by A.E. Gamrat is the first book of her coming-of-age duet. I suggest you start with the first book before reading the Eternal Bloom as you absolutely need it to be able to follow the story line … I had a bit of struggle to get into the story at first as it was a bit slow to take off but once I took a step back and thought of my own youth … I got it!
New Bloom is Gwen’s journey into adulthood and I promise you, it is not an easy ride … the writer takes us on a rollercoaster that most of us can easily relate to … we all struggled with growing up and finding our place and our future and let’s not forget about relationships … how does one find the true one? Well … in Gwen’s case, Kane walks in through the door of her parents flower shop but can she trust that it is real? Can she find her way out of her confusion and sheltered life? At the beginning I was a bit annoyed with how sheltered and naïve and sort of submissive she was but I do understand that it was all needed for the story to take flight! I really did not like her mother and I really felt like yelling at her at times … I wonder if this is something that the parents of only children might behave like …
The story had quite a few great supporting characters that were very relatable and truly cared for Gwen and her life … It is a great story of growing up and finding one’s place and independence … definitely read the second book as well to find out how the story continues!

NEW BLOOM (Book 1) (Bloom Duet)
By: A.E. Gamrat
5 out of 5 stars

The story NEW BLOOM (Book 1) (Bloom Duet) by A.E. Gamrat is a new adult/college book. It is a story that hooks you in from the very beginning and I found myself not wanting to put it down until I had finished the last page. I loved reading about Gwen. She is a young woman who has just graduated college and believes that she has her future sorted out. She is a strong person who is not always the social butterfly. She enjoys staying home and watching a movie instead of a night out on the town. What happens when the future that Gwen has for herself suddenly changes and there is an appearance of a mysterious man who she feels connected to? Read this book to find out. I found myself empathizing with Gwen on the situation that she finds herself in. The conflict between herself and someone she loves is one that although she could see coming was still hard to take. Gwen is someone who wishes for approval and she doesn’t feel that she is being taken seriously as an adult. The feelings that she has for the mysterious man that has entered her life surprises her. She is also confused when a situation happens that cause questions to be raised. This is a story that had my emotions going up and down. It is a wonderfully written book that I would recommend reading. It is part of a two-story series and has a cliffhanger ending. I am looking forward to reading the next book.

New Bloom is the first book in a duo and does end in a cliffhanger. I highly suggest getting the second book and reading them back-to-back to have the best reading experience.

This book is about a young adult, Gwen, who has graduated college and is entering a new phase of her life. Gwen has always been focused and had a plan. She thought she knew how things were going to play out, but when she goes home to help out with the family business, things do not go well.

Gwen’s mother has become unbearable. No matter what Gwen does, her mother is full of criticism and reasons why Gwen is not living up to expectations. When Gwen looks to her father for help in dealing with her mother, she is disappointed that he doesn’t stand up for her as heartily as she expected.

The only saving grace in Gwen’s life is her best friend, Lena…until the new guy walks into the shop where Gwen works. But, when Gwen’s mother gets wind of the potential interest, she tries to run the guy off.

I really relate to Gwen and the strained relationship with her mother. There are times you wish Gwen would stand up for herself, and times that you want to slap the mom to knock some sense into her. The author did a wonderful job creating characters with real-to-life issues so it made you more emotionally invested in the story and how it turns out.

New Bloom by A.E. Gamrat
Four Stars

I’m not really sure how I felt about this book. I’m in-between liking it and not really interested. First let’s start with out lead female. Gwen seems to have it all together at first but you quickly see that she has some personal issues. She gives off this I’m ok vide and nothing can get to me but truly she is suffering. Now I understand her because in some aspects of my life I am like that as well. I didn’t know if she was a teenager or an adult with the way she carried herself and didn’t seen like she was mature. Kame is a mystery to me and I don’t know what to say about him except I hope he learns better communication skills. Disliked Gwen’s mom. Her dad was super flaky. The authors writing style was a little choppy but you can look past it. The conversations between the characters didn’t flow very smoothly and at times I didn’t know who was saying what to who. There wasn’t a clear plot to me. I’m hoping that the story is just taking off and that this was just a little background for what’s to come. I found myself continuing the story out of curiosity and to see how the author would develop the story. It almost feels like a coming into yourself story. Where the leads have to go desperate ways to strengthen themselves before they can be together.

New Bloom by A. E. Gamrat is the first book in the duet. Ms. Gamrat is a new author to me and I was intrigued by the cover and the title. New Bloom means to me as a fresh start. I see the roots growing as a child through the first 13 years of the child’s life. In the teen years the green start to take form and build up. This the important part of life. Parental impact is slowing becoming a thin line in which the teen is following the rules but trying to break free on their own. The bloom of the flowers is the adult years while in college. The young adult is trying to find their way in life. The more the young adult is productive the more blooms the plant will grow. In a nutshell this is the story of Gwen. She followed her mother’s rules. She just recently graduated from college and is coming home to learn about the florist shop of her parents. She is a ground young adult and has some blooms in her flower. Then in comes a customer, a male customer and in Gwen’s life she is feeling something she has never felt before. This is where Gwen can continue to grow blossoms or she can start to wilt away. Gwen is a strong woman, but is still a little scared because she does not want to fail. Will Gwen’s blossoms grow or will her life take a turn and start to wilt? You will have to be the judge of this and more.

New Bloom is book one of a two book series. It is the story of Gwen and Kame, but mostly Gwen. She has always done the right thing. School, school and more school. Always following the rules. Working in her parents’ flower shop was all she wanted and all she knew. Going away to college didn’t change that. When Gwen finally wants to let loose a little, after graduating college, and to show her parents what she had learned, her mother steps in and tries to control everything.

“Taking control is in my blood, and sometimes I wish it would go away.”

From early in this book the mother character is one that I do not like. She’s over bearing, rude, mean and unloving. I wonder what happened in her life to make her this way. Of course maybe if she wasn’t like this then Gwen may not have become the person she is.

Kame is the mechanic with a dark secret past. When he sees Kame in the flower shop he appears cool, confidant and nonchalant. When in fact he is a shy quivering mess of a man. These two are so cute together. Until Kame has to go back to where it all started for him. His return is not guaranteed and his survival is even less.

New Bloom has a good story line and additional interesting characters that make it a book you can recommend to your friends.

New Bloom was the first book I read by Ae Gamrat, and it is book one, to be followed by Eternal Bloom. I was quickly sucked in, and really enjoyed the book. It is more than just a coming of age story, and contains many real life situations, easy to identify with. The characters are strong, and the relationships between their friends and family members are well written. I didn't want to put it down, but was mad with the cliff hanger ending. Even though I knew it was coming, I still had the wait until I got book 2 to get the happily ever after Gamrat promised. I highly recommend this book, and look forward to reading more from the author in the future.
The story follows Gwen, who moves back home after finishing college, and has to adjust to a new family dynamic. She returned to work at the family flower shop, alongside her mom and dad. She has such a close relationship with her dad, as they have so much in common. Her mom, on the other hand, is a tough pill to swallow. They butt heads constantly and her mom is hard to handle. I really didn't like her, shes rude and condescending, and I felt bad for Gwen. (her mom slightly justifies her behavior in book 2, but I still don't like her)

New Bloom by A.E. Gamrat is the first book in her Boom series, which includes Eternal bloom as well. Those that have read my review on Eternal Bloom will love this book because its full of the same rollercoasters of emotion and family issues as Eternal bloom the story takes place before that one giving the reader some great back story. Readers find Gwen just graduating from college and the real world hits her like a ton of bricks. The relationship between Gwen and her mother is tumultuous, with Gwen trying to live her own life all while attempting to keep her mother happy, and yet somehow Gwen is always in the wrong. Being pulled in some many directions leaves Gwen with her head spinning, even more so when a new love interest enters the picture. Life was never meant to be easy peasy, and Gwen is learning the hard way that she is going to have to grow up and go her way before she can be truly happy. Gamrat made a great follow up to her first book in this series, showing her reader a great view of the relationship between Gwen, her mother, and everything between them. I can't wait to see where she takes this series down the road, as I will be the first one to pick up the next in this series for sure.

Gwen is a recent college graduate who always knew that after she was done with school, she wanted to move home and help her parents run their flower shop. Ever since she was young, she has loved flowers and her parent’s shop gave her the perfect outlet for that passion and even drove her to study business in college to help with managing the shop. The practical application of that dream just isn’t turning out how she hoped. Her tenuous relationship with her mother makes everything difficult, especially when she meets the mysterious Kame. It is a rare thing when a book makes me cry, and “New Bloom” quite nearly had me there! Graduating college and following your dreams should be a happy and exciting time and Gwen isn’t getting any of that happiness or excitement. My heart went out to her as she is dealing with all these experiences, none of which I’ll be giving away, but let’s just say it made me inhale this story. A.E. Gamrat tells the story almost as if it is Gwen’s diary, giving us her deepest thoughts, fears and anxieties. It is beautifully sad yet hopeful, kind of like Gwen herself. I’m eager to read the next book in the series “Eternal Bloom” so I can find out what happens next, as “New Bloom” ends with a cliffhanger! With that, I give “New Bloom” four stars!

Graduating college and knowing how the next chapter of your life will play out is a big deal, right? How

much more could someone ask for?

Gwen has always followed every rule her mother gave her. With her future planned for her, she never

really had the time for fun or boys. Never really learned how to let loose, go with the flow.

What happens when all the plans she thought were laid out for her are pulled out from under her feet?

Add in the mysterious man that pops into the flower shop stirring emotions she has never had before,

and she is in for the ride of her sheltered life.

Growing up is hard, and Gwen’s in for a growing experience she never planned on.

New Bloom is book 1 in a series from author A.E Gamrat. This was the first time I have read from this author. I highly recommend this book as well as book 2.

New Bloom by A. E. Gamrat is the first book in the story of Gwen. Gwen is a young woman that recently graduated college and pretty much had her life planned out for her. However like all things plans can change and when they do Gwen is set adrift in a world that she is ill prepared to face. Add in a tall, dark stranger and Gwen is going to have to learn to stand on her own and to make a future for herself instead of following the path laid before her. Can she face the challenges ahead? Will she survive her coming of age? You’ll have to read to this story to find the answer to these and many other questions.
I enjoyed this book. It was very different than a lot of the romance stories I have read and that honestly made this that much more interesting to me. The plot is well developed and the characters, both primary and secondary, really help to make this story come alive. The romance is much more in the background with this story which is kind of understandable since this is in essence a coming of age story. This book is filled with so much emotion in places that I honestly felt for Gwen several times. This book is definitely worth a four star rating.

New Bloom, Book 1 in the Bloom Duet Series by A. E. Gamrat
4 out of 5 Stars

This is a fantastic book. This coming of age/romance novel has just about a little of everything to make the perfect book for this genre. Our main character is Gwen. She is freshly graduated from college and is trying to sort out what she wants to do with her life. I love how the author has brought to life the struggle that some girls face with a tough mother/daughter relationship. Gwen realizes that she has lived a very sheltered life, partly because of the choices of her mother, and when she begins to see the slivers of the outside world, they do not see eye to eye on how she could continue. Gwen is trying to figure out how to stand on her own two feet and stand up for what she wants. When tragedy in her household strikes, all of that is put on hold.

This Author did fabulous job of bringing to life the struggles of being a young adult and the emotions you feel during that time. I appreciate the effort that it took to bring such detail to life. I highly recommend this book and I cannot wait for book 2.

New Bloom by A.E Gamrat is a great young adult story, this story brings the elements of life and no matter how hard you try to plan your life you will always be surprised how you eventually end up.

The story revolves around Gwen and her life after graduating from College, she has always followed the rules and her mother’s wishes which has left her little time to truly enjoy her life to the full. She has had her life planned out but has never really enjoyed experiences as she has always been focused on the end goal.

So when she starts living life she becomes confused and uncomfortable to the point that she feels she is losing control and sight of her goals which throws her into turmoil.

I enjoyed the style of writing and the fast pace nature of the story, I felt that it took a while to get into the book at the beginning but once I started to get invested into the story it was brilliant. I loved the two characters and the contrast between them, Gwen being very naive and sheltered to Kame blowing her world and throwing into a whirlwind of what she believed she was destined for.

New Bloom is by A.E Gamrat, this story looks at the coming of age story. This is the first book in a two-part series. I was not too sure to start with but the further I got into the story the more I enjoyed it, this story pulls at the heartstrings a few times.
This story looks at a young lady named Gwen. Gwen has always done everything she can to please her parents her mother more so than her father. Gwen has been away at College studying to one day take over the family business because this is the path that was paved for her. So when Gewn has graduated and heads home to her parents she believes things will be great a little strained but manageable. Little did Gwen know her life was about to change in ways she never saw coming. This story just ends with a little bit of a cliffhanger and I so can't wait to read book two so I can find out what happens with Gwen and her family. Don't take my word about a cliffhanger grab a copy and see for your self. Then we can both read book at the same time. Happy Reading.

GREAT ROMANCE READ!!!

New Bloom by A.E. Gamrat is a romance that you can sink your teeth into. This is a two book series so make sure you read them in order, it will make all the events in the story come together.
This is about a young girl who is fresh out of college and has returned home to work in the family business. In college Gwyn was not the party girl type, she had rather stay in and read a good book or watch tv, but her roommate and friend has decided she needs to get out and mingle. Gwyn has done everything her mother taught her to do and hasn’t strayed from mom’s rules very much at all. I found that this book has a little of it all, romance, sadness, anger but there is also happiness, goodness and making up even when your mom drives her crazy.
Then when he arrives on the scene it is instant attraction. How will Gwynn handle this new experience and what will mom think?
This is my second book by A.E. Gamrat and I enjoyed reading both of them. Her writing style is so natural you feel as though you are there. I can’t wait to seen what is next in this series.

New Bloom by A.E. Gamrat is book one of a two book series. This book does end on a cliffhanger.

Gwen has always followed every rule her mother made. She even had her entire life post graduation planned. Because of that, she didn’t really have time for going out and having fun and even less time for boys. She dealt with it because in the end she was working toward her goal. Unfortunately not all plans laid are forever and Gwen is facing her future being pulled out from under her. To add to the strangeness of the situation, a man she’s never met stirs feelings in her that she is very unfamiliar with.

This book was such a good read, I read it in one sitting. Gwen’s mom makes me so mad though. I just don’t understand how she can act like that toward her own daughter. It makes me feel like there is an underlying story we haven’t been told yet. Gwen is dealing with so much but she is a strong character. So far she’s been able to deal with everything she has faced and that’s inspiring. I really can’t wait to read the second book!

New Bloom by A.E. Gamrat
Four Stars

New Bloom is the first book in the New Bloom series by A.E. Gamrat. This series is the first books I have read by this author, and I’m looking forward to reading more. This is a coming of age book with a bunch of angst thrown in. Gwen is a strong female character, who is having problems seeing eye to eye with her mother. In the first book we get the background on Gwen and her mother's relationship. Wen Gwen finishes college and comes back to live with her parent and fun their family owned flower show. However when Gwen meets a man that her mother doesn’t approve of the emotions start flowing. Kame is a new fling in her life, but her mother definitely doesn’t approve. Kame has secrets in his past that he needs to deal with and he is not the best communicator, so we will have to read to find out how this story develops. You definitely won’t be disappointed if you pick up this book. I highly recommend this book and series.

I have again delved into the created world of another new author. I have to say that I quite enjoyed this book. The author has a great writing style that keeps you glued to the pages. I really didn't want to put the book down.

This first book introduces you to Gwen and her friends and family. I really enjoyed this first book as I felt that I could really relate with Gwen. It was a very great start to the build up that I
was sure to come. The author has just enough intensity to the plot that you can really find the
characters relate able. I definitely found the dynamic between Gwen and Kame to be unique as well as how her relationship with her mother progressed and sort of declined. There is just so much realism to the whole situation that I found myself feeling the emotions as if I were Gwen. I really look forward to reading more from this author and the second part of this duet.

I really enjoyed this author’s debut novel! I am a fan of coming of age novels and this one was one of the best that I have read. I liked the easy going writing style of the author, the book was really easy to read and follow and the pace was good. I really liked Gwen and I felt for her as she tried to navigate her life forward with her less than helpful Mother in the picture. I thought the she really was a king, caring and genuine person. Even though it probably wasn’t what she wanted deep down she always helped out her parent’s in the flower shop. I loved it when she and Kame first met, I finally felt like it was something she could have full control of in her life! He was such a lovely person too!
I am definitely looking forward to reading the next book in this series and seeing what is going to happen for Gwen!
