Malcolm Smith

Malcolm Smith was born in London, England just as Europe was plunged into World War two. His earliest memories were made up of bomb shelters, blitzed buildings and bomb craters to the backdrop of the fear filled faces of parents.

He came to faith in Jesus Christ in his early teens and experienced a fullness of the Spirit almost immediately that was to change and redirect his life forever. He began to preach at age fourteen and has over the last decades preached throughout the world.

Malcolm Smith is not an evangelist but as he often describes himself, is an evangelist to the evangelized, teaching believers who they are in Christ, the beloved of God and His dwelling place through the Spirit.

He was pastor of a church in New York City where all that he was beginning to understand was put to the test of the broken lives that fill the streets of that city. It was during that time that he found himself traveling through the U.S. as a teacher and leader of the emerging renewal of the Spirit throughout all denominations in the 60's and 70's. These travels extended to almost every continent.

He now resides in Bandera, Texas with his wife Nancy who joins him in her ministry of prayer and healing gifts of the Spirit. On the Zoe Ranch he conducts retreats and a non-residential Bible School. He also travels throughout the U.S. conducting retreats and meetings in churches and organizations of all denominations.

Anyone who has had me for a teacher will recognize this book – I’ve read from it when teaching Blood Covenant and I just love it so much! Malcolm Smith has a revelation of God’s love unlike any other, and this book brings it out so clearly. He outlines everything we have received in our covenant with God by the blood of Jesus – this is a must read for every Christian!

It unlocks the familiar

This book is an excellent read for the mature believer and the new believer. It unlocks content that you feel that you know. The depth of the meaning of Holy Scripture is taught in relation to covenant. This also opens up the reader to the fact that there are other texts that are to be unlocked. Excellent read.

Smith does a fantastic job of tackling complex subject matter in a way that is easy to comprehend. His writing is filled with wisdom and can quite easily be related to. If you're someone who particularly knows about many different aspects of Christianity, but perhaps lack in seeing how everything ties together, this book is perfect for you. Additionally, I think this book is a great pick for non-believers - Smith highlights and provides context for many topics that are commonly misconstruded in today's era.

I didn't give this book five stars only because I felt that at times, the explanations were slightly repetitive.

This book is beautiful. It has caused me to think about biblical words I've heard my whole life (covenant, mercy, steadfast love) in a new light. I am in a covenant relationship with God, and Christ is my mediator. God has made an oath and he will be faithful to it (to me)! I can hardly believe all that God's word promises, but-- as Smith reminds me-- "faith is not a feeling; it is a choice against our feelings, sometimes against every feeling in our being, to believe the revelation of God in Jesus Christ" (pg 72).

"We do not pass exams in the laws of electricity to enjoy switching on the light, and we do not need to know how he does it to know that we are in Christ and he is in us" (pg 153). May the Holy Spirit reveal to us how "filled up" we are with "all the fullness of God!" (Eph 3:19).

Many times I had to put down the book to process what I was reading. Malcolm Smith discusses some deep truths that wrecked me on multiple occasions.
Since I started reading this book I have found myself coming more boldly and confidently before God, eager to talk to my creator who has so so so much more than I ever realized.

Smith's breakdown of how covenants work, the different types in the Bible and ultimately the blood covenant shows how God really thought of everything and how detailed He is. IT'S SO COOL!

The book left me with feelings of joy, hope & excitement and I know you will too if you read it.

This is one of the few books that I have highlighted areas to go back to later. This book has helped me gain an understanding and clarity about the Bible that I did not have before. The following words by Malcolm were totally about me before reading this book: "I have a belief system that was incoherent; each part stood by itself as an island in a sea called Christiantity; no part having any real relation to the other parts." This book is focused on the blood covenant and provides through scripture what needs to be clear in the heart of the believer's life.

God need's and loves friendship. Not people who will serve him.He established a convenant with man, sealing it with his name.A God who can not lie,if he breaks his word he will cease to exist as God.A friendship whereby its eestablished in truth and faihfullness, even when we are not faithfull breaking our own end of the bargain,he is faithfull in every circumstance and situation.God blessed ma with a convenant meaning i am now yours, not a contract that says this now yours...

So, so, so good! Have never been so in awe in my life by a book. SO powerful and easily deepens your faith. Recommend 1000% over!
Blood covenant takes you through the depths and lengths Jesus went through to save us, and just how powerful each step was. There’s depth and meaning in every detail, and when brought to light, simply leaves you feeling ALL the emotions. Your love grows, as does your faith as you begin to unpack all that He did for you!

By far the best book on Christianity that I've read. Anyone who wants to understand the Gospel at a much deeper level has to read this book. The socio-historical context of covenant relationships in Biblical times was expanded upon and explored throughout these pages and it's safe to say I'm walking away with a completely different view of the covenant relationship I am in with Jesus Christ.

Some good background of Jewish tradition relating to the Gospel and Old Testament, related to the blood covenant. Backed up by Scripture. Some explanations were a little ling, and so it read slower at time, thus the 4 stars.

I read this through by myself about one year ago. As I was reading, I on occasion thought 'so many others would benefit from this truth' and 'this would be a great book for a small group fellowship.' I finished reading this book for the second time March 2014. And this second time through, a weekly meeting and discussion of a chapter with two and then ending with one other...I noticed more so how disconnected we can become when we stop considering THE ONE...who wants to be in relationship with us...and wants us to have relationship with others. I expect I'll read this marked up book again, both alone and with others.

A few good points.

I did learn some background explaining Jewish tradition, relating to the Gospel. Also, that we need only to rest in God, and listen to him, especially when our sins or negative thoughts plague us. The more we focus on the bad, the more time and energy we give to it. There are many correlations from the Bible relating to what the author writes about. Good information. I rated the book as 4, since some of the information and passages I knew about it seemed long to me when making the point of the chapter.

Understanding our relationship with God.

Unfortunately the blood covenant is not taught as it should be in many churches. Understanding the blood covenant gives us a whole new understanding of our relationship with the Father, the Son and thr Holy Spirit. We become God's children and are covered by His unending love. Nothing can be better than that.

Plenty of scripture references throughout the book, which is great. I was very excited at the beginning of this book, but as I read through it, I kept wanting the author to go much deeper. Still worth the read and will keep it for future reference.
