Just in time for summer: A Bite-Sized Romance!
Everything you crave--banter, steam, romance--all in one quick, fun, and delectable standalone. YOU AND ME is a delicious opposites attract story coming June 27th.

It all started in the pouring rain. His wet shirt plastered to his hard body. My drenched hair strewn across my face.
We bantered. He held the door. I found out his name.
And for a half a second, I fell hard.
Then the record stopped. Forget his quick wit, those biceps, and insanely disarming clear blue eyes. The sexy sonofabitch proved he’d be just another mistake.
But Jackson won’t give up that easily. He's determined to show me that opposites can not only attract, they can ignite.
Can he and I become an us? Or did any chance we had at a future already get washed away?

With the welcomed introduction of summer, so to comes the summer romances. Veronica Larsen's small but mighty, bite-sized rom-com is the perfect starter to whet every romance reader's appetite.

Caught out in the rain, Samantha and Jackson's accidental meeting is a soggy affair. The temperature soon rises when sparks start flying, but unfortunately for Jackson, a bad case of foot in mouth syndrome soon sees the Sparks fizzle out.

Much to my enjoyment of this sexy short, the non-stop banter and will they-won't they rapport made the fall all the more sweeter. I'm amazed how much the author managed to fit into these 50 pages. Not only was I taken with Samantha & Jackson's character, but of their roommates also. There's a story there and I for one can't wait for Veronica Larsen to tell it.

A short, sweet, and sexy romance to kick off the start of summer! Veronica Larsen is a new author for me and so when I read the synopsis of her newest release You and Me, I instantly knew that this book would be the perfect bite sized romance.

c8928129-376f-41b0-b644-48351515094f

You and Me was an adorably sweet, fun modern romance that incorporated layers of banter and steam to bring a smile to any romance fanatic. When Samantha moved to NYC, she never expected to see a hot sexy stranger offering to help her out while she was caught in the rain. Fates aligned and the sex gods must have heard her prayers. Right? Well, it turns out this sexy stranger is her neighbor and he didn’t make a great first impression when he kind of dismissed and looked down Samantha’s job as a midwife. But in Jackson’s point of view, he didn’t mean anything by it and didn’t know that Samantha was that hurt by his comment. And soon Jackson finds himself trying to get in the good graces of Samantha by sending flowers and trying to take her to lunch. While they are both sexually attracted to one another, it takes Jackson a few tries to crack through the armor of Samantha. Will Samantha and Jackson be able to start all over and go from bickering neighbors to possible lovers?

“I see something I want right now. Someone I want. Getting this woman to agree to one date can't be so hard. I've never taken the path of least resistance, not once in my life. Samantha's a challenge and I'm one persistent son of a bitch.”

e4ed2b35-8801-4df1-8222-a5c63800894f

Veronica Larsen has definitely kicked off summer with a fun, fresh, and sweet bite sized romance that will have me returning for more of these quick fast love stories. So if you are looking for a quick light read that will have you turning the pages so fast then look further than this adorable love story.

This Bite-Sized Romance was so much fun to read. It reminded me a little bit of the movie, "How to Lose A Guy in Ten Days," but only smaller.

Samantha is moving in with her sister, but is caught in a torrential downpour and locked out of the building. Coming to her rescue is the gorgeous Jackson, who also happens to be her neighbor.

While waiting on her sister to get home, Samantha waits in Jackson's apartment. As they start talking, she finds out that they are both in the healthcare field. He's a neurosurgeon and she's a midwife. Gorgeous, brain surgeon and her neighbor. She's hit the jackpot for sure. She's already daydreaming about their wedding right up until he dismisses her profession. Now she just wants to avoid him. Jackson didn't mean to upset her and tries to apologize. The sexual chemistry is there, they both know it, but she will not be bought off by flowers and food so easily. Samantha makes Jackson work for it, but that's okay because when he wants something he's determined to get it and he wants Samantha.

I can't wait to see what's in store for Jackson's brother Heath and Samantha's best friend, Grace.

4.5 stars...

Honestly, I wanted to give it 5 stars for this alone...
"Everything hurts. I'm pretty sure I'm dying."
"Well, the man cold is notoriously deadly."
We've all been around a man who sneezes once and has suddenly decided he can't go to work, lift a spoon, or pretty much do anything else without complaining of his "death-like" symptoms. And I always love novels that point this out <3

But anyways, about the actual story. This was super short read that was light and fun. A good read for when you want a break but don't want to invest in a longer story :)

4 to 4 1/2 stars

I needed a quick read that began with Y for one of my reading challenges that had to be finished before the month ended. I found this novella (that I acquired back in December of 2016) and decided to give it a whirl. It turned out to be an unexpected, funny, and pleasant surprise.

He's a sight for sore eyes. A lean, impressive tower of a man, with a face that could probably bring back my third-grade stutter.

Image result for I want him real bad gif

I can't help but stare. And seeing as he's staring right back, I figure he approves. His grin matches my own as he slows to a walk, and I desperately hope he isn't going to stop in front of me. But of course, that's exactly what he does. Staring is one thing, but I'm not mentally prepared to engage another human being in conversation. I need to wind up for stuff like this. I need at least a five minute warning.

I really enjoyed hanging out with Samantha (Freckles), Jackson (Dimples), and the rest of their crew.

Jackson and Samantha hit it off almost immediately, sharing a camaraderie and instant attraction that gets both their hopes up.

Unfortunately, Jackson shoves his foot in his mouth (and all the way down his throat) when he, unwittingly, mocks Samantha's profession (something she's super sensitive about for reasons).

My expression must belie what I'm thinking because Jackson smiles, relaxed, and asks, "You know what I mean, right?" Then pauses before adding, "What's your specialty? I caught sight of pink scrubs when you opened your bag. Are you in obstetrics, pediatrics, or what?"
"I'm a midwife," I say. Jackson's smirk slides from his face. "A holistic midwife, fresh out of the school of witchcraft and wizardry. But, I do prefer the term witch to paraprofessional. The latter is bad for business, you know what I mean?"
Cue awkward silence.

Jackson realizes pretty quickly that he's dropped the ball, but he's determined to go after Samantha because he senses that there's something special between them worth exploring.

And he's not one to give up without a fight:

Dear Freckles,
These [flowers] made me think of you.
In fact, I don't think I've stopped thinking of you.
I'm sorry I was a jerk. Let me make it up to you.
In desperate need of your one-liners,
Jackson (Dimples from down the hall).

Her response:

You tore beautiful flowers from Mother Earth and left their rotting corpses at my door. You're a monster.
May they rest in peace, along with my impression of you.

I laugh, not even knowing if it's a joke.
It has to be, right?

***

Long story short, she doesn't make things easy for him, but Jackson is up to the challenge, and I found myself laughing along the way...

Her bright face is the best thing I've seen all day. Even if her eyes are brimming with humor and only traces of sympathy. It doesn't matter. Suffering is just better when there's a witness.
"Is it the man cold?" She lowers her voice conspicuously. "It's the man cold, isn't it?"

Image result for sheldon I'm dying

"Everything hurts. I'm pretty sure I'm dying."
"Well, the man cold is notoriously deadly."
"You hexed me," I accuse, pulling the covers tighter around me, cocooning myself.
The corner of her lips pull up. "Do you want me to leave you here to die? Or do you want me to help?"

Despite the inevitable bumps on their journey to love (of course), these two made me grin with their banter and chemistry.

"You're one of those people who's just naturally good at everything, aren't you? I don't even hang out with people like that," I say. "I like my friends at a functional enough level of mediocre to where I don't feel incompetent."
He chuckles, somehow knowing I'm kidding without me having to so much as smile. I like this guy. He gets me.
"It's a good thing I don't want to be your friend, Samantha."
I snap my head up mid-chopping motion to look into his eyes. They're an electric hue of blue, like the hottest part of a flame, threatening to engulf me where I stand.

This story was super quick at only fifty pages, but it worked for me.

The author added an extra bonus scene at the end that felt just slightly different in tone than the rest of the tale for me, but it provided a small window into what the future of their relationship will be like and an extra helping of spice (for those who wanted and/or needed more).

This was my first read by Veronica Larsen, but I'm pretty sure it won't be my last.

4.5 sexy, perfect for summer stars!

OMG!!! I loved this! So much! I have only one problem, it's just not long enough!! I want more! I absolutely adored this super sexy, quick read!

As a huge fan of Veronica Larsen's books I was really excited to see her release these fun, bitesized romances. These short reads seem to be more and more popular at the minute and this one is definitely one of my favourites!

Samantha and Jackson are incredible! From the first meeting a fierce connection sparks that infiltrated me as the reader.
The chase that happens between these two is seriously seductive. Seriously HOT.

Know what I loved most about this? It thrilled my inner Greys Anatomy Geek. For a book to incorporate super sexy romance and a dirty, delicious Doctor I felt like I was in heaven!

As I said at the start of my review, my only problem was that was just not long enough. I NEED more of this delicious, sinful story. More of the fierce, funny banter that lights up this story. More of the red hot romance that sparks the hottest flame from these two. Just more!
I loved these characters, I loved this book, I loved Veronica's words and emotions that make up her books. I loved it ALL.

Hhmmm... It's kinda disappointing.
It has very good potentials to be much better actually ( ⋅́ ̯⋅̀ )
I mean, A sexy romance with a hot doctor as the hero?? Wow!!
What do we even call this genre? Medical romance?
I'm so obsessed with doctors.. Especially the hot ones like Jackson (◍>ᴗ<◍)
description

How can a man be that perfect?? Smart, handsome and hot all at the same time?

Since it's only a novella, I know the pace is very fast.
I like fast-paced books, so I think it shouldn't be a problem. But unfortunately, the ending is kinda in a rush?
I think I haven't even seen the climax but it suddenly reached the ending already...

But it was still an enjoyable read ( ˊᵕˋ ) ♥

For something really short, this novella was really satisfyingly good. It was quite a nice surprise. I gravitate towards shorter reads when it's a hellish workweek so I get to finish something in one go. This was nicely done indeed with the quick banter and comfortable chemistry between the two main characters. I'm not sure if this would've been more effective if stretched into a longer story. I guess how compact it was added to the charm.

4 stars. I really liked this "bite sized" romance! This is a novella and I never give novellas 4 stars because I always want more, but this was perfect the way it was. This is a really sweet and sexy read about Samantha and Jackson. Samantha just graduated from her training to become a holistic midwife and is moving to the city to live with her younger sister. She arrives in a rainstorm and her flighty sister is not home, leaving her and her luggage locked out of the building getting soaked. Luckily, Jackson, a neurosurgeon, arrives to let himself into the building where he also lives. They feel an immediate connection and attraction when they end up spending time together waiting for Samantha's sister to arrive. But things come to a screeching halt when Jackson puts his foot in his mouth by making insensitive comments about holistic medicine only to find out about Samantha's profession. He feels bad about it immediately, but Samantha thinks he's a jerk and leaves. He pursues her, realizes he was wrong about holistic medicine, and he gets a chance to make it up to her later.

I really liked Jackson and Samantha. They were both real people to me, with quirks and insecurities included. I really felt their connection too. The writing was really good. This was a quick, easy read, but it had all the emotions I needed to feel a connection, like in longer books. This was my first book by Veronica Larsen, but it definitely won't be my last!

You and Me by Veronica Larsen was a first for me by this author and wow I must say I'm impressed. You and Me is a short story but is packed with a lot of character development in a short amount of space. The only problem with this book is it left me wanting more. More of Samantha and Jackson.

Samantha moves into her sister’s apartment and on the first day runs into the very hot brain surgeon and neighbor Jackson. They don't hit it off right away but after some determination from Jackson, Samantha soon can't say no to the drool worthy neighbor.

Don't let You and Me fool you it packs a big bite for such a small package. The book contains everything you need in a short story. Banter, check. Hot sexy scenes, check. Romance, check. It's got it all. If you're in the mood for something sexy and sweet then You and Me is the book for you!!! I was given this ARC for my honest opinion.

Super short, super cute, super sexy.

Veronica Larsen once again captivated me with her brilliance in story-telling and comedic timing. I loved both characters immediately. Their banter made me giggle and their connection made me swoon.

Samantha and Jackson were adorable in every way. Though the story was short, I felt both were developed better than some authors can manage in a full-length novel. It's impressive. These characters could be friends, people I know in the real world.

But even more brilliant is the way she involved the side characters. I wanted to know more of their stories, too! I have a feeling Heath and Grace have a bite-sized romance coming soon. I also hope we get more of the quirky Delilah.

I highly recommend this story when you only have an hour or so to spare. It'll suck you in and you'll be finished and satisfied at the end!

You and Me by Veronica Larsen is the first in her bite-sized romance series. A quick and fun romance where opposites attract and heat up the pages.

I loved the characters of Samantha and Jackson. They have great chemistry, witty banter, and watching Jackson chase after Samantha (after putting his foot in his mouth) and win her love was endearing and romantic. The secondary characters of Heath, Delilah, and Grace were great as well.

This was a great short story and I can't wait to read more by Ms. Larsen. I definitely recommend. It's exactly the entertaining and light read I needed for my summer.

A quick easy bite sized quick fix read. I enjoy this one a lot, though I really wish this is a full length novel as I felt half the book was missing after I finished it.

The H is adorably cute with his single minded pursuit of our h.Our h is equally sassy and adorable when she came up with different ways to deter our very determined H.

I also enjoy the supporting casts and looking forward to reading more of them.

The very major issue I have here is like I said it feels incomplete. They got together for their hfn ending real quick and I guess I was surprised at how quickly that happened then ended.

Definitely a bite sized romance

I liked it.

Short and sweet, like a truffle delicacy, You and Me contains enough to leave the reader satisfied.

Told in dual pov's with humour, great characters, intimacy, leading to a hea.

I haven't read anything from this author before and this little treat is a great sampler of Veronica Larsen's writing.

Cute, short story.
This is a perfect summer read - it's great for the beach or pool and PERFECT to read while doing cardio (which is what I did).
This is short, but readers get a FULL story about Samantha and Jackson. You get an understanding about each character, some background, some current, and you LIKE them!
They're funny - great banter! And I forgot to mention some hot times :)

This is how a novella is done! It's short but still has a full story and great characters with plenty of chemistry. It was funny, sweet, and sexy; everything that I love in a book. Now I can't wait to read the next bite-sized romance from Veronica Larsen. I highly recommend You and Me if you're ever in the need for a quick read!

*3.5 ⭐️- To call this a quick read is an understatement. I finished this “bite-sized” romance in a sitting, which was partly due to the length, but also a testament to an entertaining read. I was a bit skeptical at first, but this slowly revealed itself to be more than a corny over-sexed romance - it actually had substance. I appreciated the sarcasm and banter between the characters. It was a good way to introduce myself to this author, and a great way to fast-track my reading challenge ;)
