James and Mandy Hardy have been through more than any one couple should have to survive, but they’ve made it to their first anniversary. To celebrate, James decides to take his wife on a trip to London and they’re both thrilled with the prospect of a weeklong getaway. The couple is happy and blissful, excursions to Stonehenge and wax museums filling their days as laughter and love overwhelm their hearts … that is until James runs into a former military buddy looking for a change. Jesse Tanner can’t figure out why James settled down – and appears happy with his choice – but he seems intrigued by the man’s dedication to his wife and accepts when James offers him a job. Back home things quickly spiral out of control when an overseas couple steals James and Mandy’s identities and Jesse seems more interested in partying than working – and he drags James along for the ride. The Hardy marriage is under extreme duress when Mandy begins worrying about holding James back and her husband inadvertently lets the past infringe on his future. When danger threatens Mandy – and Jesse’s personality takes a turn for the worse – James thinks he has things figured out. Unfortunately for him, it might already be too late to protect his wife and solve an international mystery in the making. James and Mandy made it through their first year, but if James can’t figure out what’s going on the Hardys won’t see a second anniversary.
An anniversary trip to England for Mandy and James becomes a party of three when Jesse appears. Jesse served with James and he's now working in London. He's dismissive of Mandy and she's not keen on him until he protects her from a mugger.
Before returning home James offers him a job at Hardy Brothers Security, Jesse appears disinterested but turns up days later to accept the offer.
Jesse has a seemingly one track mind, and wants James to go drinking and carousing round the bars just like they did before. James gives in unaware that Jesse's been manipulating Mandy.
As tension rises between husband and wife, a new problem appears, someone is trying to hack the couples bank accounts and then Mandy is in a car crash..
The situation is going to become more dangerous before the truth comes out.. but can James face the man who is threatening his wife and talk him down or will it all go horribly wrong?
As always, I loved loved LOVED this story! James surprises Mandy with a vacation to London, and it was so nice to see them happy after the angst of the last few books. When they returned, however, the couple definitely went through some tough times, which I really appreciated. I actually like seeing them go through rough patches because it keeps their relationship realistic and prevents things from getting too repetitive. The mystery was great as it always is, and I was glad to find that I was surprised by some of the villains' identities. Of course, Mandy and James really stole the show and it was great watching them work through some issues and come out stronger than ever. This is probably one of my top 5 favorite Hardy books!
Oh this series really get's me I love all of the Hardy siblings and their partners, but James and Mandy will always be my favourite and no matter what they love each other unconditionally forever. James and Mandy finally get their dream vacation to England it was an awesome adventure with only a dash of trouble but really what's a hardy brothers story without loads of trouble and more finds Mandy and James once they get home which sets the loving couple on a rocky deadly mudslide they may never recover from. This story has laughs, love, anger, drama, despair, identity theft, adventure and finding each other. Another awesome winner of a story for me.
I was super excited about finding another Hardy Brothers book...I truly enjoyed this one as it was not all sugar and roses between the main characters. That dose of reality was just the thing...there was one issue...somewhere between chapters 13-14 there seems to be a scene out of order or something...it confused me and I tried to figure it out, but just a need up glossing over it...otherwise, another great story!
Awesome story! Can't wait for the next. Great add to the series! Keeps getting better and better! These guys are hilarious, emotional and fun of twist and turns!
