I really enjoyed this story - even more than I thought that I would. Elle didn't realize how controlling and manipulative Jack and his family were in the beginning of their relationship. They all wanted the perfect "wife" for Jack in the public's eyes, but Elle left and never wishes to return to Jack or his life. With political ties that run deep and dangerous, Elle does her best to fly under the radar and keep out of Jack's line of sight. She's probably at the lowest and most vulnerable point in her life when she meets Max - a professional QB and media magnet. While burned by love once, he's drawn to Elle and does his best to push himself into her life. She does her best to keep him at a distance and out of her heart. She knows that if she gets too close, Jack and his political team could destroy Max and his public image. Max is undeterred - and so the story goes. Max and Elle are both damaged and grieving in different ways due to events in both of their lives. While they do heal each other in some ways. We are shown the different avenues each takes as a form of therapy to work through their issues independently. The grief is not brushed over, and the healing takes time. I was grateful that the author showed this to us. So many times it is glossed over or inferred. I commend her for the way this book was written. Max's character takes this into consideration more than the average hero in most books and refuses to get too physical with Elle until she's actually ready - mind, heart and soul. Despite the desire leaping off of the pages, he didn't want her to regret it or take the chance that it would push her away. This only made him more endearing and lovable in my book. When Max showed his vulnerability and shed tears, I nearly cried myself. There comes a point where Jack decides he want Elle back and all hell breaks loose. We get the front page view of what life was like with Jack, and it's not one that I would wish on anyone. All in all, this was a truly touching read and I would recommend it. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This story was about an NFL player named Max who was cheated and blindsided by his wife who left him for someone else. And Elle a woman trying to break away from her powerful ex who never appreciated, cared or loved her properly. Max and Elle meet by chance and have an instant connection but Elle fights it because she is dealing with so many things in her life.
Max was so determined to fight his way into her life and so her what she was missing in her life. But Elle continued to hide her past and when it is exposed he feels hurt and lied to again by someone he was starting over with. But Max proves how great of a person he is cause even when he is hurt and thinking the worst he still stands up for Elle and protects her from Jack her ex. But once they talk and clear the air between them they grow into a beautiful couple that open up and grow together in love. They feel each other's pain and continue to support each other. It was a great story full of love and family and friends.
"In Too Deep" by KC Ann Wright is the story of Max, a pro football quarterback, and Elle, an elementary school teacher. Max and Elle both are dealing with trust issues. They have experienced some really difficult times in their life.
I love KC Ann Wright's books. You get romance and lots of twists and turns. She does a wonderful job of incorporating difficult issues without losing the focus on the romance. This is a winner. I couldn't put it down until I finished. FYI, contains mature content.
This book speaks on so many levels not sure if the author meant for it to or not. I almost never enjoy a book that has a focus around politics but I really enjoyed this one. It made me believe that the calculation and lengths that occurred in the life of this politician was truly what people can go through not just politics but in upper class to how calculated everything in their lives must be to achieve what they set there goals toward, how they can't let go, how family plays a part whether knowingly or purposely. How after a bad relationship and betrayal you can find love again and realize what it should really be like to have a partner in a relationship. Great read.
I liked this book a lot! I really liked the relationship between Elle and Max. Max is definitely NOT the stereotypical football player, and he was just so sweet. Elle was definitely a complex character. She has a lot in her past that she is still working through when she and Max meet. I loved her with his family, and that letter was so touching. I liked the pacing of this book right up until the end, but the ending of the drama was pretty anti-climactic. Otherwise, a very enjoyable story!
This book is awesome. As far as I'm concerned this book has everything you could want. I read this book in one day. I hated when I had to stop and do something. I received this as a gift for an honest review and I'm so glad I did.
I just loved this book. To have a man love you so much he does what Max did. I really enjoyed this book. I highly recommend it. Very well written and true to life. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I got this book and I could don't put it down . I cried and I felt their emotions in him and her. I commend the author for writing a book that is not raunchy but a true love story even when obstacles were coming their way..
