As the team prepares to confront Quinnley about her secrets, she has one final trick up her sleeve: outing Dakota for who he truly is.
Will the mysterious man finally admit to his past and share his story? And will they ever learn the identity of their wealthy benefactor who brought them all together?
I planned to be married in my early 20’s. I planned to be done having children (2-3) by the time I reached my 30th birthday. I planned to be a High School English teacher (having been scared off of Astronomy and Psychology by those employed in the fields). I planned to lead a quiet life, avoiding attention as much as possible.
Life does not always go as planned.
So here’s what my bio ACTUALLY looks like.
After being scared away from teaching high school English by the politics of the educational system, I used my organizational skills to become an Executive Assistant. It was through this job that I found myself sitting at a trade show, attempting to sell folding bikes, and attracting the attention of a highly energetic window and sunroom salesman.
After a series of events that led to me taking a walk around the RV Show with this salesman, I confessed that I was a writer at heart and wished that I could become a published author. The salesman confidently told me that he would like to publish my book.
Fast forward a year and I was engaged to the Salesman who had helped me self publish my first short story, Crimson Mistress.
“This is all well and good” I told him. “But I will never be an entrepreneur like you. I just don’t have the mindset.”
Fast forward another three years and I was a stay at home mom with a preemie son. My Salesman, now husband, had helped me publish several more short stories and my first full length novel. But it didn’t seem to be enough. Something was missing - something that I had sought within the publishing world but couldn’t find. Support.
This is the fourth installment. Until now, my favorite had always been Jack. Now? I'm not too sure anymore. I loved Dakota's story. It's a nightmare coming to life. The whole thing is darker than the other three combined. It's sinister enough for fans of horror.
Dakota opens up the door to more questions and invites the readers to continue with the next. I'm curious to know where it will lead us. While we learn more about the characters, what their final goal will be is still a bit of a mystery.
This is the fourth story in the Rehab for Superheroes series and it is likely my favorite so far. As the name indicates, we learn (sort of) the origins of the mysterious Dakota. His story is a bit different from the others and actually may leave readers with even more questions than answers, but this installment definitely shows that we're gearing up for a very interesting story. My only question is how long do we have to wait for it?
This is my favorite installment yet! Dakota's backstory and the experiments he was subjected to were chilling! Of all the superheroes introduced, his powers were he most intriguing. And the way Dakota brought all out heroes together for a common cause (dealing with Michael) was well executed. The ending definitely leaves room for more story and I'd be thrilled if Ms. Andrews treats us to another installment.
UNIQUE AND INTRIGUING This is the latest stunning instalment by Andrews. She has excelled herself again with this story about Dakota. I don´t usually read this genre but Dakota and had me gripped. The well-drawn character of the creepy Dr Grey sent a chill down my spine. This is a definite must-read. If there are any TV producers out there, they should sit up and take notice. This series is made for TV. My only slight gripe is that it is a bit short, I was left hungry for more!
A long time ago I promised Ann Livi Andrews I would read another one of her books. It took me a lot longer to keep the promise than it should have done, so I read three of her books. The Rehab for Superheroes series is intriguing, engaging, and all the books move faster than me attempting to keep a promise.
What is a superhero story with a flair for the mystery man? And *Drum rolls* here he is! Dakota, the fourth episode of this amazing series brings in the mystery man to the light and unleashes even more mysteries.
This superhero has a dark secret. He is a ghost and he has a haunting past. He has blood on his hands and if you want to find out, you will have to walk along this dark story.
Dakota answers so many questions and leaves the reader with new set of questions of their own. As for the writing and story itself, it can suck you in through time and darkness and leave you falling in love with Dakota in the end. It is really awesome and I can't wait to read the next book in the series!
Mysterious and deadly dangerous games. Secrets and unknown agendas. Just another well written chapter sinking it's literary claws into the reader leaving you wanting more, more, more!
