This book is worth reading just for the advice on Google Ad words keyword tool alone.
The writing style is also fun. Consider - " Typos and bad grammar will sink your Kindle book faster than a rabid wombat gnawing a hole in your kiddy pool."
Skimps on the post-launch stuff, but otherwise not too shabby
In the home stretch, the author suddenly announces he's holding his tips on book promotion for a future title. It might've been better not to mention it all, but "Write Short Kindle Books" still has a lot to offer.
This book has tips, but overall it's like the author read this book to make this book - not a lot of amazing stuff in it. It has a lot of common sense strategies and things I've read elsewhere. In a word, this book was "meh."
A short book about writing short books! It was exactly what I expected: brief, rapid-fire pointers on writing Kindle eBooks. It contained the obligatory self-promotion and cross-selling I've found to be common in these books, but that's not necessarily bad. One cross-selling link may actually become a future purchase for me. It's worth what I paid for it (which wasn't much; it was an impulse buy) and if it helps me make some money publishing short books, I can say I got paid for buying Meunier's eBook.
As someone who has two non-fiction manuscripts in progress and a novel I found this book very helpful. He not only outlines the structure, royalty payments, and the benefits of publishing shorter non-fiction pieces, but he has links to other helpful books and products. Reading this makes me sure I'm on the right track as I prepare to e-publish on Kindle.
As a writer of non-fiction and having published kindle books, I find the whole idea of writing and releasing short books more often very interesting and attractive. This book is filled with usable information whether you’ve already published or are about to publish your first book. Having already published, I found truth in the authors words. Interested in writing short books for kindle (and paperback) I learned from the author.
This book is a quick read—an example of a short kindle book—and full of helpful information given in a friendly voice.
Some of the links provided are outdated or no longer work —at least that’s what I found—but you can find this author online.
As I write my next self-published book, I've been debating on high-volume publishing with shorter books vs longer books. I've read a few books on the benefits of being a high-volume indie author, but something clicked for me with this book and sold me on the idea. If you're thinking about self-publishing or are already in the space, this is definitely worth the read for non-fiction authors.
The only thing this book is missing, which I feel a lot of books are missing that are written for non-fiction authors is writing to market. There is a wide range of books for fiction authors on this subject, but not so much for non-fiction authors.
This a good roundabout approach to the process. It's not the first book of its type that I've read, but it's the experiences behind the conversation that sets it apart from the ones up to bat for the first time in this subject. It may be seen as a thorough briefing on approaching what to do when it comes to writing nonfiction online. It's plenty helpful and lends a sober common sense to the answers you may not have previously considered. I recommend reading this for just the adrenaline and new ideas that it sparks. And I'll read again soon!
Having a handful of unfinished book projects that have turned into beasts myself, the concept of writing shorter books makes sense. The author did a nice job of outlining the process and providing pro tips. Definitely a book I would recommend to others.
Gread read for those thinking about writing their own e-booms. From picking out a subject to writing out your description for Amazon, this book covers it all. I have read a bunch of different books on the subject but this book seems to ,at it all out the best!
If you've ever harboured dreams of being an author, this pleasantly bite-sized work will be of value to you. Handy tips and tricks abound, all with the aim of setting you on your way. Give it a try!
Very interesting book, I liked it a lot. It makes a short and yet great introduction to the world of self publishing. A valuable resource, it delivered a lot of value for me!
Detailed, straight to the point and not lacking in author personality. Also, I enjoyed the author bio. He enjoys writing about nerdy stuff. Gives me hope that I can profit from writing about what I love.
This book made me think of splitting up my book into multiple small books and then selling what would have been one book, as a box set book. Gotta play the game 😁😅😂
Friendly and easy to understand, Nathan does a great job of getting the fridge door open so the goodies are easy to get to. If you're thinking of writing an indie book, this info is must have.
Wish I would of read this before publishing my first book lol
Seriously, Wish I would of read this before publishing my first book. Lots of good information and helpful tips that I'll definitely use in my next project.
I really enjoyed this book. I am working on a large book, but after reading this book, I will be creating a series. The tips throughout the book were short and to the point. I really like this. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
This was a well written book about self publishing that had a lot of valuable information. Especially when he talked about how to write your first short draft and then put it aside for awhile.
A great how to and why to overview. Some good tips here... well worth the read. A nice emphasis on delivering quality not just get rich quick. Refreshing!
Showed steps and alternatives to help establish your name and work on Amazon. Helps you organize materials that you already have into a series of publications.
