Twenty-six-year-old Abraham O’Donnell is the CFO of Steel Inc. After working tirelessly for over a year, he takes a week off to enjoy the sand, surf, and bikini-clad women of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. After all, he's earned it. When a brief interlude with a flight attendant in her hotel room goes awry, Abe heads to a rental home with a private beach. While floating naked in the pool, he learns a guest house on the property is also occupied. So much for rest and relaxation. Ever the gentleman, Abe tries to make the most of his misfortune and offers to make the beauties staying on the property some dinner.
It's senior year and Nikolette (Nikki) Bassett is a few days late for her last college Spring Break with her four best girlfriends. When she arrives, all these ladies can talk about is the guy next door. And once Nikki gets a look at him, she knows what they mean. Fresh from an afternoon of surfing, Nikki can hardly believe her eyes when Abe approaches. The sexual tension and banter between the two of them leads to steamy hot sex on the Atlantic shore. It's only a Spring Break fling, and both Abe and Nikki know better than to make it out to be more than that. Or do they?
Abe’s calm demeanor changes once he has a taste of Nikki. That night, no location is safe. He takes her on the beach and ravages her in his bed. But despite their mind-blowing sex, Abe's taste for ultimate control in the bedroom makes Nikki uneasy. Nikki's just getting over a heartbreak and she can't afford to let Abe in. So, she pushes aside her budding feelings and leaves Florida and Abe behind without a backwards glance.
Not used to being dumped and afraid to admit how much it hurts, Abe cuts his losses and heads back to Steel Inc., resuming his role at the top, pouring his heart and soul into his work. But Nikki Moore won't be forgotten so easily. Her taste, scent, voice, the noises she made when he brought her to ecstasy, the way she tasted on his tongue, and felt under his touch haunts him. Always fighting for control, Abe tries to push Nikki far into the back of his mind, as he fucks the rented women he had grown accustom to.
But Karma is a bitch, and Abe blames her for Nikki leaving him the way she did. So when Nikki shows up unexpectedly, Abe welcomes Karma with open arms.
Control has left the building and safety of one's heart is no longer strong enough to stop what happens next.
ABE, is the first in the TIES OF STEEL series from bestselling erotica author MJ Fields. It is a spin-off of the bestselling MEN OF STEEL series featuring the Steel brothers: Jase, Cyrus, Zandor and Xavier.
MJ Fields is a USA Today bestselling author of contemporary romance novels. She lives in New York with her daughter Miss A, smoochie faced Newfie, Theo and the newest member to the 'fields crew, rescue diva / holy terror Eleanor. When she’s not locked away in the cave, she enjoys doing home improvement projects, spending time with her family, attending live music and sporting events, the theatre, singing off key, dancing to her own beat, listening to audio books, and reading of course.
The beginning of this book was pretty good. Abe is vacationing in Florida at a private home, at least that is what he thought until he finds out he will be sharing it with a group of girls who are vacationing there as well. When the last girl to arrive shows up, he becomes completely attracted to her. They decide to hook up and not reveal their names, so he calls her Four, and she calls him Neptune. But after a smoking hot night together, Abe wants more. He's hoping to get her name the next day when she wakes up. But when he awakes, she is gone.
Nikki is back home after vacationing with her friends in Florida. She loved spending the night with the man she knows as Neptune, but became overwhelmed by her feelings. She thought that she may feel heartbroken if she stayed any longer when time finally came for them to part ways. Now, she is trying to move on and has an assignment as a journalist to keep her occupied. She is to interview Abe O’Donnell, who is the CFO of Steel Inc. She is completely blown away to find out that Abe, is her sexy one night stand from Florida.
Like I said before, the first part of the book was rather good. I enjoyed the flirting and sexiness of it all. There were a few things in the dialogue that did make me cringe a bit, because it wasn't all that sensual. But I did enjoy the chemistry that these characters seemed to share. As the book progressed, the more that connection seemed to diminish. I was struggling to stay connected to these characters. I didn't like certain things Nikki did or the decisions she made, and came off quite annoying during many scenes. Abe was hot one moment, and then kind of a moody ass the other. He was supposed to be a Dom, but I felt that it was never fully explored in this book. Sure, he was controlling in the bedroom and gave a few commands here and there, but it wasn't enough for me. It at times even felt a bit awkward.
Overall, it was an alright book. It wasn't amazing and it wasn't horrible. I really enjoyed the start of the book, but unfortunately it kind of lost me as it went on. Some parts seemed to drag on, and others were rushed. I wanted a stronger connection between the characters. I could definitely feel their lust for each other, but not so much their love. Some parts of the book was a bit predictable, but I did enjoy some of the suspense in this. The characters, sometimes I liked, then other times I got frustrated and pissed off with. The ending left me wanting so much more. It was kind of abrupt. It almost felt like their story wasn't done just yet. In the end, I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it either. It was just okay for me. I think I am going to be giving this author another try.
a) The heroine was beyond childish, juvenile, puerile(yes I am aware they all mean the same thing, she was that bad), annoying and kinda pathetic at some point.
b) The supposed Alpha Dom was a fucking prick. He expected her to trust him completely the day she met him. And he was angry when she got spooked with his domineering ways and left after having knowing him for less than 24 hours and slept with him once.
c) The plot was all over the place after the initial meet. Rushed in places and dragged way too much in others. Neither of them could make up their minds. Pulled the love card waaay too soon.
d) I wasn't aware that this was a spin-off. I realized it soon enough when a whole horde of people were introduced and I lost complete track of who was with who. Very confusing if it was meant to be a standalone.
e)Some of the sex scenes were hot. Not all, just some.
I loved the way Abe: Four in Hand started and how Abe and Nikolette met each other. I’m not a fan of the way Nikolette left Abe. There was a connection and lust between Abe and Nikolette, and it seemed like Nikolette finally moved on from her ex, but she still left Abe. Her leaving really hurt Abe and it made him more closed off. He really wanted Nikolette and thought she could be the one. I understood Abe’s reaction when he saw Nikolette again. Nikolette is very determined to get what she needs and she doesn’t give up without a fight. Abe eventually forgives Nikolette, because his love for her is stronger than the hurt.
There was some light BDSM. Abe needs it and he needs control in the bedroom. He pushed Nikolette maybe a little too much, but he was clear from the start what he wanted from Nikolette. Abe is smart, driven and closed off. He’s close to his family and the Steel family. He loves his work and he works long hours. I liked Abe more than Nikolette.
Nikolette is sweet, closed off, insecure, talented and loving. She’s almost done with college and she wants to proof herself. Nikolette frustrated me many times. She keeps pushing Abe away and I didn’t understand why. There was a lot of push and pull. Abe and Nikolette only become a couple near the end.
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of Abe from the author. I must say, I didn't know what to expect going into this book. It's my first novel by MJ Fields, but others have raved about her for months (I just don't have time for reading as much as I used to), but this book .... THIS BOOK ... it was FANTASTIC.
Abe is sexy, brooding, hot, sensual, alpha, dominant and loving ... he's the complete package of what you want ANY book boyfriend to be!!
The writing was wonderful, the plot was intriguing, the development was exceptional and the sex was smoking!!!!
Do yourself a huge favor ... PRE-ORDER THIS BOOK ... READ THIS BOOK ... LOVE THIS BOOK.
Thanks for trusting me with your baby and I'm not expecting an ARC of ANYTHING you write in the future. MJ Fields, welcome to my list of "I'll read her grocery list if she'll let me" authors!!! You're in great company.
I received an advanced review copy of this book from the author for a honest review.
2.5 stars
I was so looking forward to Abe's story. But he turned out to be a modern day Jekyll and Hyde wrapped up playing the role of a Dom. He is Jekyll around his family and friends. Joking and fun loving. But he wears the Hyde/Dom hat with Nikki. Arrogant, lacks empathy, demanding, condescending and an ass.
Florida... that was the fun reading portion of the book. Then Abe gets his feelings hurt and turns into Hyde.
I have several issues with his Dom character. He expects her to not question anything, give trust before earned, and fails to explain what he expects from her(until near the end of the book!). Nikki's character is young, sexually inexperienced and preparing for her adult life after college. It's normal when coming into a Dom/sub relationship that she would have concerns and questions but, whenever she leans in this direction he starts throwing out the "punishment" word. Great way to scare and cause confusion.
His two visitors while she is outside his home... I am definitely not going to get attached to a character that does this while fighting off feelings for another.
Meeting the parents... his behavior was obnoxious.
His treatment of her in the allley... I was shocked and appalled.
The epilogue... where was this Abe throughout the book?!?!?!
So you ask, is this a Dom/sub book??? I wouldn't say that it was. It was more of a power trip gain total domination kind of story.
I can see where the author was trying to go but, it was too harshly delivered, not enjoyable and didn't work for me.
“Baby, I am gonna come so hard I fear for your safety."
🤮
Listened via audio and I would not recommend. I repeatedly cringed at the bad southern accents, not to mention the silly southern stereotypes. It all made sense when I discovered the author is a New York native and likely has never met (let alone spoken with) anyone from the south.
Anywho, Nikki is a walking red flag. Pretty much a terrible human being, she manipulated Abe for an interview to get ahead in her career. Once I saw it that way, I could not see it any other way. Let’s not mention how unbelievably judgmental she is throughout the entire book.
Everything after 60% only further put me off the story and I mentally checked out. Nikki became a completely different person after going home, and I found her sudden shift in behavior when she returned confusing. I finished this for no other reason than the time I’d already invested in it, but I’ll likely stir clear of MJ Fields in the future.
You know how something is good. Like say...your birthday or Christmas. It's all great. You had fun. And now its over. Then........you get one more present in the mail and your birthday lasts just a little bit longer. A bonus birthday extension. That's what Abe is. I loved the Steel Brothers, but I thought it was over. Now we get a Bonus Steel Extension. Oh my....that sounds dirty doesn't it...Bonus Steel Extension. (insert giggle here)
Abe is the CFO of Steel Inc. He is a bit of an outsider since his last name is not Steel. He loves the brothers and the company, but he knows he isn't family. His own family is great if not a little depressing at the moment. Abe knows what he likes and how he likes it. He's comfortable with the man he is.
I sat in first class fighting my inner control freak. I was going to have a damn good time starting now.
Nikki has great friends and a great boyfriend. Ooops, not so great a boyfriend. She found him cheating on her. Time for a get away with her best friends to clear her head and relax on the beach.
I wasn't going to let the past hinder what I was to become. I am a strong woman. Beautiful in my own way. That had been what I had told myself...
As luck would have it, Abe and Nikki meet on the beach. Its all nicknames, surf, and sand. Until it gets a little too intense for Nikki.
You have me at a disadvantage; I'm not used to that.
Nikki bolts, but not for long. You knew they had to meet up again. I mean, it is a full length book.
Abe and Nikki are like magnets that keep changing polarity. They are so attracted to each other, but can't seem to stop pushing the other away. There are some real control issues for them. His iron control over himself. Her lack of control when it comes to who and when she trusts. Her parents control over her. Abe's need to control her and his need for her to let him.
I cherish the gift of your submission
You should have been willing to devote yourself to me. In this type of relationship my job is to set you free of mistrust and sexual restraints. Yours is to devote yourself to me fully...
I read an unedited copy and even the typos didn't take away from the story. Abe is a hottie. And I mean hottie. From his pool floating to his pantie ripping, he is an Alpha Male. Nikki doesn't know what she wants or needs even when its right in front of her. Another thing Abe can't control.
I loved all the Steel books and now we get some more of them and their buds. It's an MJ Fields Bonus Extension.
I was eagerly waiting for this book after meeting Abe in the Men of Steel series!
Abe is the CFO of Steel Industries and best friend of Jase Steel and cousin to Jase's wife Carly.
He is a take no prisoners type man in his professional life who works too hard. Deciding to take a vacation he heads to Florida and there he meets Nikki or Four as he calls her. They have some hot times together and she runs off.
Abe is an dominant alpha in out out of the bedroom and after Nikki takes off he doesn't know what to think. Angry he cuts vacation short and returns to work.
They meet again and sparks fly, not necessarily the good kind.
Will this dominant man and this no nonsense girl be able to start over? Why does Abe call her Four? Will she be able to handle all things Abe?
This is a fantastic book and if you like a hot alpha man challenged by a string woman then this is book for you!!
An extremely good D/s book. The characters were very real to me and get behind the 50 Shades stereotype. Good plot and subplots and a strong flow to the story.
LOVE Abe! If you have read the Men of Steel series then you already know to expect hot Alpha male with a voracious appetite for all things sexy. Abe did not disappoint in this regard. He takes a vacation from all the stress of his job and personal life and meets 4 women....number 4 being the one to drop kick her way into his life and turn it all on its ear.
Abe is a man used to being in control. Of everything. Nikki (Four) is used to being hurt and has trust issues with anything said and done to her by Abe. Every time Abe thinks they have turned a corner, Nikki runs, leaving him questioning his very decision to let her in.
This story was amazing, Nikki completely infuriating, and Abe as hot as any man MJ has ever written. I loved it, highly recommend it, and cannot wait for more #TeamSteel from MJ. ~Kellie
Wow, wow wow. I love MJ Fields, love, love her. I love the Steele men and have read all her books. Ms. Fields has a way of writing a story that is filled with so much passion, real life issues and gripping characters that have me so involved and engrossed in the story. I am a Jersey girl, so of course I love anything having to do with the shore. I love how Ms. Fields provides readers with details like my summers there. I have waited for Abe’s story for forever. Something about his character called to me, and I was so glad when I finally got my hands on it. Abe is not a long read, but there is so much that goes into this complicated, demanding and controlled character that I could not get enough of it. The story is told in alternating POV’s and what happens is hot but also touching and captivating.
Abe is the CFO is Steele Inc., and taking on a very challenging and demanding job that has him questioning what a woman would want with him and how it could affect the company. In order to not cross any lines, Abe hires escorts. Abe is stressed, over worked and in need of relaxation he decides to listen to his cousin and best friend Carly and take a vacation to Florida to relax. Abe is a very controlled man. He doesn’t just like to have control in the boardroom but also in the bedroom. While in Florida he meets “Four”, a woman that instantly calls to him. After one night he wakes up to a note from Four and nothing else. He ends his vacation and goes back to New Jersey thinking of the time he spent with Four.
Nikki (Four) is in Florida with friends after experiencing the betrayal of her boyfriend and friend. She is there to have a good time and forget about that pain. Nikki meets Neptune (Abe) and is immediately attracted to him. She believes he is want she needs to get over her heartbreak. Nikki gets more than she bargains from her night with Abe. She experiences things and feels things she has never felt before. Nikki submits to Abe and instead of spending more time with Abe she leaves. The last person Nikki never expected to see again is now standing in front of her and her work assignment.
Abe and Nikki’s story is one that is filled with fire, angst, danger and passion. Abe has always been looking for a woman that will submit to him in the bedroom, but she also needs to be an independent woman. When he gets to know Nikki, Abe realizes she is the woman he has been looking for. Nikki has been burned. She has trouble trusting men and more trouble understanding Abe’s desires. She constantly questions his intentions and is unable to fully submit to him. For all the times Nikki runs, Abe is right there behind her. Abe is possessive, alpha and in total control.
“Nikki, I don’t want to be just your surf instructor or the subject of an interview.”
“No?”
“I want to be your teacher in everything, you’ll experience from here on out and I want you to be my girl.”
Abe’s book is so captivating. Their chemistry and connection is felt in every page. Ms. Fields brings us the Steele men as well as their women and of course that means plenty of laughs of a lot of Jersey testosterone. Abe and Nikki will both have to face their fears if they want a future together. Can Nikki get over her trust issues and fully submit to Abe or will her fears cost her Abe? Can Abe show Nikki that all he wants is her trust or will Nikki’s constant mistrust push him away for good? Pick up this book and meet Abe and Nikki and check out the rest of Steele family.
hmmmm, This book was quiet...different. I liked it. It had a lot going on in it. But something about it left me wanting more, like left me feeling like it maybe was,.... unfinished, maybe another novella or something could be coming or maybe just rushed at the end??? I don't know, it wasn't the longest book ever, so sometimes that just tends to speed up the story.
Okay, so the story starts out in Florida on a little beach vacation. Abe is looking for a relaxing get-away since his family basically forced him to do it, and to hopefully get laid as much as possible. Nikki is having a girls retreat to try and heal a broken heart. When the two first see each other they are instantly attracted to one another. Of course, as these things go, soon they are rolling in the sheets, errrr, sand and then sheets, lol. But Abe is like nothing inexperienced Nikki has ever known before. So, when he starts making plans for the next three days, Nikki sort of freaks out and heads home in the middle of the night only leaving a note behind. Of course, as fate would have it, the two run back into each other the very next week at work. Things are uncomfortable at best, but Nikki now needs Abe. Her career depends on it. And as mad as Abe is at her, he can't seem to help himself when it comes to her.
I think the thing that I didn't get the most about the book was the D/s relationship. IMO, it never really seemed to be that type of relationship. Yes, plenty of times he told her he wanted to own her. There was a little bit of kink, and Abe could be bossy at times, but he just never seemed like a true dom. He lost his patience more than not. And most of the time he exclaimed how much he cared for Nikki but he seemed so frustrated all the time I often questioned his sincerity about it. Then, Nikki, OMG, I totally understand her being hesitant about getting into a relationship with him. He was so bossy and moody, and to never have been in a relationship like that before it could totally be daunting. I was proud of her for sticking to her guns. But then in the end she even admitted to
Overall, I still liked the book. There was plenty of suspense and I think this could have been elaborated further and made an even better book. The ending felt a little rushed, and I would like to see more into their future. Abe could be hot, and I like a man who feels the need to take charge. It was an interesting read, with lots of suspense, hot scenes and of course a HEA!!
To be honest I wasn’t sure what I was getting with this book. I loved other MJ Fields titles.
So getting a glimpse in to this world was pretty freaking cool if I am honest with you. I to feel like sometimes the character cross over could be smoother, only because I can’t remember how some of them connected to the other. Maybe I should have read the series in order I don’t know. But it still all worked well.
I loved Abe’s personality, his demeanour. He is everything you think of when you think Alpha male. There first encounter is kind of cool, I really enjoyed that whole scene. Even though Abe is 26 and Nikki is 22 he seems much older, whether that’s from experience or what not. His lifestyle isn’t hard core or anything overly out there.
I found Nikki to be a little immature, but still a strong female character. If some of the things happened to me that happened to her, I think I would have fallen apart so good on her. I think the only thing I didn’t like was the end, and how she didn’t stick to what she was doing. I don’t want to give anything away.. So over all enjoy Abe and glad I have more of the series to read.
I really liked the narration as well, I like the male narrator more, I usually do. But the dual narration is pretty awesome.
Abe is everything I love in a man...Sweet when he needs to be and dominating in all the right places.
Abe is the CFO of Steel Inc. and on a vacation he first meets Nikki, who he likes to call Four. They spend some time together while on vacation. He's not sure what he thinks of her at this point but never expects to see her again.
But as fate has they do meet again and sparks begin to fly and Abe teaches her just what he likes in the bedroom.
MJ Fields writing never fails to amaze me. Absolutely love ever one of her books.
I have been reading alot of MJ Fields books and they are all amazingly well written with a great storyline! This is Abe’s story, he is Steels CFO, a hard worker. Finally he takes time for himself. He meets a beautiful young lady with her three college friends. She was the last to arrive. When Abe meets her they are attracted to each other. They are on no personal information. He calls her four. They spend a few days having the best sex she has ever had, then one morning cuts her trip short. Leaving Abe, a gorgeous dominant alpha male upset. He returns to New Jersey to his job. I loved how surprised and upset he was at discovering four from Florida is Miss Nicolette Basset. Her college major is journalism and she was given an internship at a newspaper. Her job is to interview the handsome, rich bachelor Abe O’Donell. This storyline is so well written, I enjoyed it so much. There’s a lot going on in the story, with her apartment building to her boss at the newspaper. Abe’s father owns a bar and his mother has Progressive Multiple Sclerosis and dementia 😔 His father visits her and of course Abe. It was such a personal side of this storyline because I have MS. Anyway, it was an intense romance, with everything good and juicy in a book from MJ Fields ❤️🔥 I am trying my best to listen and read her books!

I’m a big fan of MJ Fields and was excited to read this spin off series from Men of Steel. The Steel brothers are just fantastic and reading about these other characters is a lot of fun. Abe was a big part of the other series and I enjoyed reading about the man behind the Steel brothers. As is the norm for Ms Fields, Abe: Four in Hand was a spectacularly written tale of discovery and determination and the alpha male show of strength and protectiveness.
Abe O’Donnell is the CFO of Steel Incorporated and he takes his job extremely seriously. At only twenty-six, Abe hasn’t taken a vacation since college and is well overdue. His plan was to visit Ford Lauderdale, relax, surf, drink and find many female beach bunnies to warm his bed. Being the CFO, sleeping with women has been a complicated process, it’s caused security issues in the past and now Abe checks for any connections beforehand.
He’s rented a house on a private beach and after surfing jumps in the pool to wash off the salt. Stripping down to his skin and swimming freely, Abe hears voices close by and discovers he isn’t along. Three girls are standing next to the pool and checking out his package. Apparently his house isn’t as private as it’s supposed to be. Turning on the infamous charm of Abe O’Donnell, he offers to cook for the girls the next night. They tell him another friend is arriving, so there will be four going to dinner.
Nikolette Bassett is twenty-two and is trying to escape the heartache and betrayal of her boyfriend, Steve. The night she arrived, her best friends tell her about the guy next door, his package and the charming dinner invitation. It’s only been five months since her break-up and her friends nudge Nikki to hook-up with Abe.
Heading down to the beach for a walk, she finds a very handsome surfer and he was heading straight for her. Abe realises she must be number four from next door and without proper introductions, he calls her Four and she calls him Neptune. All very thrilling and mysterious they flirt and a connection is undeniable.
Now home, Abe heads into the office and the Steel brothers tell him as the only eligible bachelor remaining in their group he has to take an interview with a magazine. The reporter walks in and when she sits down, Abe is shocked to find it’s Four sitting in front of him.
He’s not happy and refuses to partake in the interview, but Nikki is determined to complete her assignment and takes matters into her own hands. Will Abe give the interview? Will they get together now they know their true identities?
Nikki gets into so much trouble, Abe turns protector and Nikki has to ask herself if she can submit to Abe and his desires. Can she find the strength to open her body and soul to new possibilities with Abe or run for the hills?
Another fabulously addictive read and I cannot wait for more, especially Sabato what a mysterious man. Intrigue, family loyalty and heartache, lust, pushing limits and hot sizzling scenes are all contained within Abe: Four in Hand. All romance readers need to grab this series even if you haven’t read Men of Steel yet.
I was provide a copy of the book by the Author for an honest review.
HOLY SMOKING HOT I just finish reading this book, and I love it, love the characters, and love how the book turn out to be. I had read the Man Of Steel series and I love them all, and I am so glad that we finally get to read the story of Abe, Carly cousin and Jase best friend, and I love to hear his story, I am gone keep this short since I don't want to give anything away.
The story begging with Abe taking a vacation, he is on a rental house in Florida on a private beach, or he though it was a private beach, when he got in the pool naked and his next door neighbor came out to get in the pool, after few exchange of words he invited them to have dinner with him, that's when one of the girl say it will be dinner for four, he was about to ask when the girl say that their friend will arrive later that night, the next day when he got out of the water he seen her standing their and he name her Four, after one Hot night of Sex Abe woke up to an empty bed, he decide to cut his trip short, when he got back to Steel inc company, the guys told him about him being interview that's when their was a knock at the door of his office, telling him about the reporter, what he was not expecting was for the reporter to be Four, Nikolette (Nikki), Nikki never though or imagine that she would ever see Abe again, but she was wrong cause he was sitting right in front of her, and what they both where not expecting was for their life to turn up side down.
I love the way how Abe and Nikki are with each other, love Abe attitude and the way he is, love it how he gets what he wants, love the way how Nikki is with him and love her attitude, love it how she follow what she wants, and how she don't give up, and O.M.G. the Sex Scene Are Just Way To HOT.
I really love and enjoy reading this book, Author M.J. Fields THANK YOU once again for introducing me to this awesome amazing characters, and this Wonderful hot book love it.
Being in control may lead others to believe you are uncaring. That is NOT true! Control can in fact mean you need a certain order to your life so you can deal with all the emotions you are feeling. By controlling these emotions and compartmentalizing them, you are then able to deal with them in an orderly fashion and still retain your perspective and sanity.
This is Abe. In control, totally efficient, always busy and handling the mess at Steel Industries. His love life? Very controlled. Now that he is the CFO of an international company, he has to be extra careful as to who he lets into his life. This is why he makes do with escorts as a stress reliever and does not really date anyone.
That is just fine until Nikki comes into his life. Just one look... that is all it took! The attraction, the chemistry, the safety in the closeness, the sense of being at peace and complete for once in his life makes him realize he has finally found "the one".
Nikki is totally inexperienced. She is so young and just trying to finish her last year of college. She is also trying to move on from a devastating first relationship where her boyfriend cheated on her with her best friend. Can anything be more traumatizing to a young woman?
Nikki and Abe combust in these pages, leaving cinders along the way. Abe can be such an impatient caveman sometimes; and Nikki wants to be self-sufficient and independent. Their love affair is described easily as the highest highs of sensuality and the lowest of lows in the battle to finally merge these two stubborn souls into one.
I have only praise for MJ Fields. Her writing only gets better. Behind the rawness of the Jersey Shore characters she brings us, there is a depth of sensitivity, respect, and desire to venerate the women in their lives. These women are protected and nurtured with kindness and love because the tough men feel so deeply for them. Here is hoping there are more of these men out there ( I know of a few) like these characters, to take care of our daughters.
ABE; Four In Hand (Ties of Steel Book 1) by MJ Field ARC Review Released: October 28, 2014
My rating: 4.5 of 5 ⭐️
*****
A deliciously wicked spin off from the fabulous Men Of Steel Series by MJ Fields.
Unlike his friends and colleagues, the Steel brothers, Abe seems to be a more controlled and contained man. Not quite as combustive and slightly more refined, Abe has found a good balance in his life between personal and business, and knows very well how to maintain it. With very tight control and firmly set boundaries.
Still smarting from a recent betrayal and the resulting hurt, Nikki is still finding her way. Having grown up in a loving but very protective family, she is looking for her own legs in this world. A little insecure, but eager to taste what is up for offer, she is up for a challenge, but finds herself second guessing when she meets one in Abe.
The attraction between them is instant and mutual, the feelings that develop are unexpected throwing both for a bit of a loop. For Nikki it means a retreating in fear of being hurt again and for Abe impatience when he can't seem to control the situation to fit his needs. Trust is the highest commodity in this relationship and neither Abe nor Nikki are comfortable handing it out easily. This is when lack of maturity for both rears its head and their behavior becomes reactive at times, rather than insightful. And they are forced to fight for this unexpected, at times unwelcome, but always undeniable connection of love in its truest form.
I loved the character growth in this story. From what started out as a scorching hot vacation fling, to a secure and loving couple, MJ Fields describes the intense struggle to maintain their own identity while finding their place with the other. A surprising and multi-layered read!
✨Delicious cocktail of heat, passion, control and a hint of suspense.✨
Finally, Abe's story is here! And oh my, it was so worth the wait!!! Cyrus has been my favorite Man of Steel until now but now I'm just not sure, Abe may have him beaten!
Abe O'Donnell has been working hard for years, first with college and then after as the CFO of Steel, Inc. Now that all the Steel men are settling down he feels he can finally take a vacation. Abe being who he is, always in control of all things in his life, he only plans on taking a week of at the beach in Florida. Thinking himself completely alone at a private beach house, he decides to go skinny dipping and is rather shocked to learn his "private" pool and beach are shared with the three (soon to be four) young women renting the house nearby. When he meets number four he falls rather hard but she gets scared and leaves in the middle of the night.
Nikolette Bassett (Four) has gotten an internship for The Shore, a newspaper in Abe's hometown (although she has no idea he lives there or even who the man was she met in Florida). Her first assignment sends her to Steel, Inc. to do an article on Abe O'Donnell, most eligible bachelor. Imagine her surprise when the subject of her interview turns out to be Neptune, the man she ran from in Florida.
This is their story and it's a fantastic story. But it's one you will want to read on your own, so I will say no more, except that it is definitely VERY HOT!!!!
We see love able all American Abe O who spin off book from the Steel brothers has a dirty side too him too. He goes to Florida for vacation from big hot CEO life at Steel Inc. But what he gets is hot and young Nikki Bassett. The no stings escort fetish man wants more with this woman. After one awesome night on vacation she spokes and he wake up to a cold bed. Not usually his style.
But inexperienced Nikki trying to take on a man fields of sports journalism is thrust into article about the shore hot bachelor which is none other Mr. Abe himself. He pissed and bitter more than ever when his fiends spring on this interview then he finds himself in front of a women who left his bed cold.
But Nikki fights him tooth and nail to get this interview. She also fights Abe but there chemistry from the start. Abe just like the Steel boys who also make appearance thought this book has protective side. He wants to help Nikki succeed but keep her safe. When she in danger her does everything to keep her safe. But at what cost to the both will this relationship be?
We meet a broken Man who has control issues and inexperienced heartbroken girl. Can the make it work? In MJ fields normal writing we get naughty steamy but we also find men who are dreamy with the bedroom skills but also their heart. Abe Is no exception. We she his love for his friends, for family and for Nikki.

I loved this book! I love this author and Abe was always a favorite of mine from the Men of Steel series because he was such a mystery in a sense. This book was sizzling hot! It is scorching and should come with a warning that kindle may burst into flames. This book will take you on an emotional roller coaster that will make you want to smile, frown, cry a tear or two, get angry, and laugh.
This is Abe and Nikki's story. When Abe meets Nikki, he knows he has to have her. When Nikki meets, Abe, she doesn't know if it is lust or hate. When these two collide, the sparks will fly. But when Nikki runs, will Abe be able to catch her? Will Nikki learn to trust Gabe? Will Gabe be able to break down her walls? Will Gabe and Nikki get their happy ending?
I loved Abe. I loved him from the Men of Steel series so when I found out we would finally get his story, I was so freaking excited. Gabe did not let me down either. He was alpha, bossy, possessive, sweet, kind, love, and an animal between the sheets. I loved he and Nikki together. It was amazing watching him fall in love and understand what the Steel men went through.
