In part two of the Corporate Hitman Trilogy, the story centers around SCRATCH.
SCRATCH knew exactly what he was in for when he sold his soul.
Pierce Eaglemohr's offer of freedom was nothing more than a pair of invisible handcuffs. Now SCRATCH is at the center of an FBI investigation and time is running out. The wall of lies is beginning to crumble.
It's the worst possible time for him to meet a woman and it's too bad that Monica Tidwell is the one woman with the power to destroy him.
History may try to repeat itself, but this time he's not alone. The Hitmen have his back.
Olivia Linden, a native New Yorker, was raised between Queens and San Antonio, TX. Her creative itch began when her elementary school principal posted one of her stories in the halls of her school. She was only eight at the time, but old enough to understand how integral writing would be to her future. From that moment on, reading and writing became her two greatest passions.
Olivia hasn’t stopped writing since she found her literary voice all those years ago. Jaded Hearts, her first published novel, mixes her big personality, with a sexy yet humorous tone. It is her philosophy that laughter is essential to making it through even the toughest situations.

This is the second of the trilogy - and you definitely need to read Glitch before reading Scratch.
The level of hotness is ramped up even further in this fast paced, multi-layered mystery. As the walls (figuratively speaking) start to crumble, the guys have to put their plans into actions. How they manage to maintain a veneer of near normality is impressive. And the complexity of bluff double bluff is great fun.
If you enjoy quick thinking from a mafia man turned accountant, and hot as hell up against the wall passion, then you are in for a great ride. I do hope that Jack's book is out very soon, as I need to know what happens next!
This is my first book ever by author Olivia Linden and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Scratch is book 2 in the corporate hit men series if you haven’t read book one you don’t need to but I suggest you do because the series is actually good.
Scratch: Never a man to be underestimated in fact he thrives off of it. Most saw him as flashy, a pretty boy but underneath lies a man with secrets and an underlying darkness. Women were a game for him apart of the job or a means to an end. The game changed and the rules changed when Agent Monica entered his life.
Monica: No-nonsense and very much so straight to the point. She is all woman in a male dominated field. Never one to put her heart on the line and definitely not one to mix business with pleasure. But you know what they say never say never.
Brought together to work on a case the lines get crossed and feelings get involved. Monica & Scratch have a lot more in common then they think. This book is suspense sprinkled with a little romance. My problem with most action/suspense books is that sometimes the romance aspect takes a huge backseat and there is no balance between them. I thought this was a well told story with some very steamy love scenes. I will say that this book is more so dealing with the business and cases then romance. Scratch is a man obsessed and tries to mask his frustrations with his playboy ways but Monica has a way of changing that. I did enjoy reading about these two budding relationship and the fact that we got to catch up with other characters from the previous book Glitch which after reading this I just had to read that one as well. I will say that I wanted a little more from the ending it left me with a few more questions than answers which I guess we will find out in the next book. Like I always mention, “judge this book for yourselves and not on one person’s opinion.”

Scratch is the second of the trio getting a book. In this book we have Scratch furthering the plan for the trio to escape from Eagle. The FBI sent two agents to examine accounts, and Scratch is buying time so they can get everything set up for their escape. While buying time, it's decided that he will distract Monica who is one of the agents investigating him. He actually gets caught in his own web though because soon he realizes his feelings for Monica are much deeper than he thought. I can't wait for Jacks book! Overall entertainment is three stars.
Scratch is the second book in the Corporate Hitman series... and it is absolutely not read alone material. In Glitch (the 1st book) you meet Glitch, Scratch, and Jack (focusing on Glitch/Liam). You learn how they've come to be working for Eagle... and you get the beginnings of how their setup is in the process of being dismantled/sabotaged. Scratch continues right were Glitch left off and puts you quickly into what could very well be the end of their work as "corporate hitmen", and possibly their lives. This time we focus on Scratch/Zio and get a closer look at the money guy... while Glitch (the hacker) and Jack (the muscle/fixer) are more in the background as support.
I found Scratch to be a really fast paced story. Each chapter seems either filled with suspense, action, or lust. No down time. One hot scene leads right into another exciting scene. I found myself rushing through the story... and I'm not really sure if that was me rushing, or if the book actually had a rushed feeling. I honestly don't think I could have slowed down if I wanted to. Now I'm kind of wishing the story had taken a little more time in it's telling. In the end... it really just left me wanting more. I suppose that's a good thing. :) I mean... look at that pic below... could you ever get enough of him?
I missed Glitch (I do have a think for the sexy geeks) but I have to say Scratch did win me over. Scratch/Zio was the player of the trio. He used sex as stress relief... and was a love her and leave her kind of guy. It's always fun to read as the ladies' man falls hard for that one amazing girl. Add in that we've got the bad boy falling for the FBI agent and you can't help but fall right into the story.
I can not wait for Jack's story. Like I said in my last review... I’m having a feeling like when we get to Jack’s book, he might win me over (strong silent loyal type). The end of Scratch already has me falling for Jack.
Book 2 of the Corporate Hitman Trilogy focuses on George Hines aka Scratch, the money man. With plans underway for him and his friends to reclaim their freedom, now is not the time to lose focus and fall in love. Especially since FBI agents are investigating Hawk Global, the company he works for. Scratch is a blue eyed well dress accountant by day and sexy tattooed bad boy by night. He gets a better look at Monica Tidwell in a meeting with his boss, Mr. Eaglemohr. She's the good cop of the routine who puts work first. Their attraction to one another is undeniable, but she doesn't instantly fall all over him like other women do.
The story flowed well. The beginning was a nice build up to a fast action, heart pumping, hot and sexy read. I liked the combination of romance and high stakes intrigue. I really loved the bad boy with the redeeming quality of being a real good man aspect of the story. So much so that I fell in love with the wickedly sexy man they call Scratch and I had to purposely put the book down to prolong my time with him. I am excited to read the final book in the trilogy. Olivia and LeTeisha did not disappoint with the 2nd book of their series. I highly recommend this 4.5 star read.

Scratch (book 2 of the Corporate Hitman series) picks up where Glitch (book 1) left off. Glitch, Scratch and Jack continue with their plans to escape the clutches of Eagle. FBI agents are sent to examine accounts at Hawk Global on a tip that the company is used illegal business tactics during a hostile takeover of a small security firm. The agents are specifically looking for files on TopSec account; a job Jack worked independently. Scratch tries to distract the agent assigned to work with him (Monica). Only problem with that is he gets caught in his own web. He is totally into her and falls hard and fast. She feels the same but is able to mast her interest better than he likes. Scratch has a total meltdown and destroys his office after a meeting with her. With all that's going on with Eagle trying to set them up for a fall the guys push their escape plan up and Scratch is the first to disappear with Monica and Araceli in tow. I'm anxiously awaiting Jack's story.
I wish I had never agreed to write a book review for Scratch . . . not because I dislike the book, and it's predecessor, Glitch, but because I find myself wishing I could read Jack before I write anything! I don't like writing review that contain spoilers and I'm going to have a booger of a time once again! The book is short, a very quick and consuming read.
The story is very dynamic and the characters are, well, characters. You'll have to read the book(s) and find out about them for yourself!
I highly recommend you pick up Scratch (and Glitch and wait impatiently for Jack) and read them for yourself. You won't be sorry. Scratch receives five, steaming hot cups of Room With Books coffee, and I can only hope Ms. Linden and Ms. Newton will join their ink for future stories!
*I received this book free in exchange for an honest review* I love these guys. Bad men turned good, forced to do bad things. The dirty work doesn't make the man. Scratch gives us a better look at George. Glitch and Araceli, Jack, they're here too, but you get an in depth look at Scratch. I loved this story. A man who's been screwed over his whole life, finally meets a woman that he can't forget. Too bad it's a Federal Agent looking to take him down. This picks up right where Glitch left off. But to be honest, it could very well stand alone. But, since Glitch was so good, I suggest reading that too! The end of this book will make your jaw drop. I'm certainly dying to get my hands on Jack's book!
The pace is starting to pick up in this series as the web of deceit starts to close around Glitch, Scratch and Jack. While they try and stay at least one step ahead, a curve ball is thrown as the FBI become involved.
Scratch should be concentrating on their escape plan and the plan to bring their boss down but FBI Agent Monica captures his attention. Both know that pursuing anything would be bad for them, but their sexual attraction makes it impossible to stay apart.
I found this a much stronger read as the authors have found their stride and the story is making more sense. The relationship build up between Scratch and Monica seemed to flow as integral part of the story rather than getting in the way. Jack is next and I can't wait for his story
This second novel in the Corporate Hitmen series really stepped up the game. The guys are now in the process of implementing their revenge and escape plans, which is certainly not the best time for Scratch to fall in love with an FBI agent. But oh my gosh, am I glad he does. We get a better look at how high the stakes are for these guys and how far they're going to have to go to get free of their nefarious boss, Eagle. And in the middle of it all sparks are flying between Scratch and Monica.
If you're looking for a wicked-sexy, fast-action novel, look no further. I guarantee you, Scratch will satisfy all your wildest desires.
Second in the series and all I can say is WOW!!! This book is taking this series further into what's going on... but will it stop here? That's one thing we will all have to wait and see! I have fallen in love with this series so far and can't wait to see what the further will hold for this author!
I LOVED THE FIRST BOOK SO HAD HIGH HOPES FOR THIS ONE. BOY DID IT GET BETTER. OUT OF THE SMALL GROUP OF FRIENDS SCRATCH WAS MY FAVOURITE SO COULDNT WAIT TO READ HIS STORY. WELL WRITTEN EXCITING FROM START TO FINISH. CANT WAIT FOR BOOK 3.
George “Scratch” Hines was a boring accountant. Well, that’s what the world saw him as. If you read the first in this series you know that couldn’t be further from the truth. Yes, he was a money man, but he definitely wasn’t you’re your average, polyester number cruncher. He was a corporate hitman and, along with his brothers by choice, was doing jobs for their ‘employer’. Shady business that needed to come to an end before the three men were no longer part of the equation.
“Never fight from a position of disadvantage until you know where you are, how many enemies, and what they wanted from you.”
When the FBI started sniffing around, and Agent Monica Tidwell entered his life, he had even more incentive to leave his ghost life behind.
I admit the first story had me intrigued, but this, this story pulled me completely and utterly in. I had a hard time connecting with characters Glitch and Araceli initially. Not because they weren’t worth getting to know but there weren’t enough hooks to let me know who they really were. It was all about the work. That is not happening here with Scratch and Monica, entirely the opposite in fact. Monica’s innermost thoughts, her fears and hopes, are revealed right alongside Scratch. Scratch’s vulnerability was a surprise but a most welcome one. While the story continues, this time out the focus is more on the bonds between the men and the women now in their lives.
“Yeah, well. I do worry. This love s**t seems to be going around like a virus, and you’re ripe to catch it…”
There is still drama and a whole lot of mystery and intrigue as the underlying story that connects them all continues. Human relationships, however, are now taking a front seat to the ‘job’.
“Look at me,” Scratch whispered again. “See me.”
A slower start in book one has led to an incredible second story in this series. Sexy, emotional and drama galore, I can’t wait for more in Jack’s story.
This is the story of Inzio Vikhrov AKA George "Scratch" Hines. Another employee of "Eagle's" Another recruit pulled from federal prison. He was sentenced on RICO charges.
He is part of the trio that works for "Eagle". He had no problem taking the deal that was presented to him to get out of prison. He had people to deal with, issues to clear up and he needed his freedom to do this,
Scratch is pushed into helping the "Alphabet crew"- (FBI). Eagle's company, Global Hawk. The FBI got insider information that laws wee being broken to obtain it's success. So Scratch needs to provide to documentation they are needing. It helps that Agent Monica Tidwell will be a point of contact.
I was immediately drawn into this story. Even though it still has IT/Tech talk, not as much since Scratch is the money man. Scratch has a lot of stress/anger to relieve. He turns to alcohol & sex. So when his sights turn to the sexy FBI agent, things get interesting. If you want to find out what happens, you'll have to read the book.

I actually enjoyed this book a bit more than the first, Glitch, as it didn't continue the story during the same timeline as the first book. It actually takes place after the first book.
Scratch is a bit of a ladies man. He takes no prisoners and can't see himself ever settling down.
In comes Monica Tidwell, a hard nosed FBI officer intent on uncovering whatever it is the hitman are hiding.
Scratch is thrown to the lions by his boss, Eagle. He has no choice but to try and cover up the mess just waiting to be found. Can he seriously expect to throw the wool over the FBI's eyes?
Monica is not a person who gives up easily, but Scratch is very good at what he does. These two are evenly matched, so who can triumph? Or will they both suffer the same fate?
I love how this story starts leading towards something new for all of the Hitmen. I can't wait to read the final part, Jack, to see what fate has in store for them.
In this second book of the Corporate Hitman Series, we focus on Scratch, formerly known as Inzio. Thanks to Glitch, Jack, and Araceli, they know they're in trouble and work on trying to take down Eagle. Especially after the FBI is brought in on some charge about strong arming a takeover by Eagle's company. Scratch is assigned to be the point man and cooperate with the FBI. He falls for Monica, one of the agents assigned. Will this be his undoing? Does he get a chance to find love? What happens when the boys have to make their escapes? Where do they go? What do they do? I cannot wait to see the ending results in part 3 of this series when it focuses on Jack's story. This has been an incredible series.

Fun, engaging, and a great story line that will have you wanting to read straight through without stopping. The only small irritant is the small amount of typos. But you'll these three guys.
