Our lives aren’t beautiful or glamorous. They’re dirty and fucked up.
We live the nightmares people live in fear of.
We live on the edge of the law wondering when it will finally catch up with us or who will bury us before that happens.
But its the outlaw life we chose. It was a choice we all made, and I wouldn’t fuckin’ take it back. Not ever.
Until she walked into my life and made me second guess everything, I have ever known.
She is an angel, and I am tainted in darkness.
She is pure perfection, and I am stained and bloodied.
I want her, but I know I will never have her.

I just hope that I can come to terms with the fact that she belongs to someone else, and there is nothing I can ever do about it.

Three times best selling author Dawn Robertson was born and raised in Connecticut before relocating to Florida in 2013. The same year first novel, Hers debuted as an Amazon Best Seller. Replicating that success with two additional novels in the following years.

The Indie publishing world has grown to love her raw writing style depicting strong
women in real life situations, topping the charts in erotica, romance, and romance-suspense. Robertson has even insinuated that the female characters in her book mirror her real life. But, that I'll leave to speculation.

When Dawn Robertson is not writing she is a full-time Real Estate professional in Florida, and mother of three amazing children.

I have been waiting for this book forever! Well worth the wait though!! Dawn is an amazing writer and I fell in love with her writing with the Hers series! The characters from Hers make appearances in Ryker. Steamy and heart stopping. I loved every second of this story and can't wait for Judge's book!!

Our lives aren’t beautiful or glamorous. They’re dirty and f*cked up.

REVIEW: 3.5 stars-RYKER is the first instalment in Dawn Robertson’s contemporary, adult HELL’S RENEGADES erotic, MC romance series focusing on the members of the motorcycle club Hell’s Renegades-a spin off from the author’s HERS series. This is Ian “Ryker” Rutledge, and Lyric’s story line which began in the aforementioned series. RYKER can be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading the previous series as there is quite a bit of history and a number of previous events that are referenced throughout.

WARNING: RYKER contains graphic MMF and MF sexual situations, strong language and text; violence; as well as questionable fidelity and cheating.

Told from dual first person points of view (Lyric and Ryker) RYKER follows the building relationship between Ryker and Lyric. Lyric is in a committed relationship with a man she does not love but that doesn’t stop her attraction to, and need for the man that has starred in her fantasies for close to a year. Enter Ian ‘Ryker’ Rutledge, Hell’s Renegades member, and the man with whom Lyric will fall in love. What ensues is the tempestuous relationship between Ryker and Lyric, and the potential fall out as the Hell’s Renegades MC heads to war with a rival gang.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including many from the HERS series regulars. The reader is reintroduced to Lyric’s half-sister Seven James-a former dominatrix, whose own lifestyle is measured by power and control.

RYKER is a gritty, no-nonsense look at the MC lifestyle. Dawn Robertson does not sugar-coat the behavior and habits of the men and women associated with the fictionalized motorcycle club convention and decorum- a brash, blatant and raw group of riders who take more than they give. The character driven premise is edgy and erotic; the romance is destructive and intense; the characters are challenging and passionate. I will add I am not a fan of the cover representation-the model looks like a skater-boy rather than a hardened member of a motorcycle gang.

Wut??? I went from Prologue to Chapter 1 and swear that 60 pages of plot/build up are missing. Then Chapter 2 hits and recycle and repeat...I feel like I’m missing another 50 pages...What. The. Fuck?!?

Bikers in Manhattan. That should have been enough of a warning. But, really, the 3way @ 70% with OM/H/OW, after H/h get it on, is the unsexiest mmf I’ve ever read. Quite possibly the most unsexy sex scene I’ve ever read regardless of gender, alien species, were-animals, etc.

AND it didn’t include the h.
At 70 % of a novella.

Just...
***(o.O)***

I just keep telling myself “biker” and I like angsty shit, but this one was just so poorly put together #icanteven

Fast paced hot read!

What a good fast paced MC read. One thing I really liked is that if you’ve read this authors other work you will get to catch up with some very familiar characters from some of her other reads.
This book is the first book in the Hell’s Renegades series and it’s Lyric and Ryker’s book. These two are great characters and they have tons of chemistry. This is full of exciting moments and some very hot ones as well.. oh yeah...
Really excited for the next book, this is going to be a great series!

I’ve been waiting for this story for ages it seems, and I wasn’t disappointed! Ryker is the bad boy every girl lusts after but is unattainable because he doesn’t want to settle down. Lyric is a good girl experiencing life for what feels like the first time. The two are opposites that can’t seem to distract themselves from wanting the other. An agreement for one night no strings what should have gotten the other out of their systems turns into an insatiable hunger. This explosive relationship is bound to be one for the books with their undeniable need for one another. I love the explosive nature that these two have when together.

Amazing first book to the series. I was a little confused because this is the first book I’ve read by Ms. Robertson and there were characters in backstory from her previous books. But this in no way impacted my review and I could get the just of backstory of the secondary characters. I absolutely loved Ryker and Lyric’s chemistry. And does it make me a bad person to say I love it when they fought, because when they made up it was hot, hot!!! I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

I would suggest reading Hers first before starting this spin-off. I was so confused at times, but that's because I didn't know the history between the H and h. There were other characters that intrigued me also, like Seven and Star, Chrome and Judge. I think I will go backwards then come back to Ryker. I did like most of what I read thought. Some parts seemed a little rushed and the story was also short. I guess I will mark this as a to be continued.

OMG! Ryker was a total amazing read. So worth the wait of this story. Dawn did a wonderful job with Ryker and Lyric. To learn more about Hell's Renegades MC and some of the club members makes you wanting to learn more and more about each of them. I would love for them to have their own books which I know one is coming out soon. The sex scenes are HOT HOT HOT!!!

A long time coming and worth the wait. Ryker is the first in a new series from Dawn but some familiar faces make appearances and they just add the greatness. A quick read with lots of drama, violence and sex. Lyric is an easy to like heroine with an inner strength to be admired. I enjoyed seeing Ryker and Lyric fight their chemistry when ultimately they are perfect for one another. Can't wait for more in the Hell's Renegades series!

OMG Dawn Robertson has been one of my favorites to read since I found Hers in the Summer of 2014. I fell in love with her writing and quickly devoured the Her's Series. Ryker was addicting. Ryker is hot. I want more Ryker. Dawn Robertson wrote the characters perfectly, her storyline and everything fit so well together into the story... Wonder if there will be more Ryker in the future because I must know what happened to the Hell's Renegades, Ryker, Lyric, and everybody else I have become addicted to.
If you want a good MC read look no further, you will enjoy this one.

Noooooooooooo.....
Just say it ain’t so.....
Noooooooooooo.....

How just how can it end like that?
I need more like STAT...

Let me start off by saying Dawn Robertson, I absolutely love the names Lyric and Seven. Very unique and I feel there names totally fit there personalities.

Next, I love me some MC books and Ryker definitely didn’t disappoint. It was bad@ss, had just the right amount of drama with twists and turns that I didn’t necessarily see coming. Throw in some angst and romance and lust oh and don’t leave out one particular scene that was totally too hot for me to handle makes this one read you should definitely pick up. (I can’t go into detail about that one scene without ruining it for you but once you read it you should know what I’m talking about)

Lyric meets Ryker when he rescues her after she was kidnapped. An infatuation of Ryker begins and she can’t get him out of her mind. Ryker is just as infatuated with Lyric but doesn’t think he is good enough for her. The two go there separate ways but ultimately end up being a part of each other’s lives again. They have one hot night together and from that point on there relationship goes on a whirlwind rollercoaster ride with lots of up and downs and in betweens. I loved watching the two grow and struggle together.

Ultimately i enjoyed reading Ryker. The beginning was a little rough getting into in the beginning only because I felt like parts of the story happened before the beginning of the book (like in previous books by the Author) but once some blanks were filled in later in the book it was all brought back together.

And let me just repeat the ending literally killed me....like seriously I wanted to scream how could it end here...definitely need the next book STAT.

I'm a big fan of MC novels. HUGE fan, actually. I love them and the story line to this book really caught my attention. However, I couldn't help but be a little disappointed.

Don't get me wrong, the story was good and has potential to be incredible, but I felt it jumped around, A LOT, and the first several chapters of the book, I was really confused, wondering if I had missed a book, or a prequel series, or something. It took me a while to get into it. Maybe it was just the author's writing style I wasn't used to, I'm not sure.

I also felt like the characters could have been more complex than they were. The two main characters obviously have a backstory and we didn't really get to know much of it. This was also one of the stories that jumped perspective a lot, that made it a little more difficult to read.

Again, I really do like the idea of the story. A girl with a past who falls in love with a rough biker who feels like he doesn't deserve happiness because of the things he's done. But I feel like everything happened way too quickly. It was like some of the problems didn't last as long as they should have or were quickly wrapped up without much detail. I still have so many questions about some of the things that were resolved and that normally isn't the case. Again, it could just be the author's writing style, but it just felt a little incomplete.

There were some formatting errors as well, starting a new paragraph when there didn't need to be one, etc.

Despite there being a massive cliffhanger, I regret to say that I'm not so antsy about reading the next book.

3/5 stars.

This book has a lot of potential-it’s hard to write a great MC book with a unique plot. Lyric and Ryker are immediately attracted to one another, but have to wait to act on it because she is with another man. When Ryker saves Lyric, they feel the connection even deeper. As the two fall in love, fight their chemistry, and find a way to be together, the MC Ryker belongs to is at war with a rival gang.
The writing was well done, but there was just so much going on that included outside supporting characters. I know this was to set it up as a series, but it did get a bit confusing at times. Also, a lot of characters were reintroduced from other series this author has.
This definitely has potential to be a higher rated book, but I’m going to go ahead and read her other novels and come back to it. I believe that will alleviate some time I spent reading about characters that had their own little story within the book. - By Victoria
