Back in middle school, she gave me a cookie. No other girl had given me a cookie before. Hickeys, phone numbers, semi-dirty messages—those were the kinds of things I was used to getting from girls. It intrigued me, the home-baked cookie thing. We’re not in middle school anymore … but she still gives me cookies. (“Anonymously” … she thinks.) I had to trick her into kissing me. But she wanted to do it, I could tell. Pretty much. She just didn’t “want” to want to do it. Maybe because she had a boyfriend … and I was known at our school as a “heartbreaker.” Or so I heard. But I had no plans to break that girl’s heart. I planned to give her mine. This is my story. Who am I? I’m hockey playing, Ally lovin’, high school bad boy (what???), Griffin Piper. This is a standalone novel 40,000 words (160 printed pages) This is Griffin’s version of Melanie Marks’ book, His Kiss. No other book needs to be read before this book. However, for the most enjoyment you may want to read HIS KISS and HIGH SCHOOL BOYS before reading this. (It's definitely not mandatory though, just a suggestion.)

This is the summary from the book's description page:

"I get it—you won’t change your life for me.” My eyes clung to hers. “But, Heaven, I wouldn’t mind changing my life for you.”
Soooo sweeeeeet 😍
I'd finished Her Kiss first, because obviously Griffin is so sweet and adorable and hot at the same time. But it's kinda made me sad reading about his family, he deserves better. Absolutely love this story 😊
well I have to say although I was not a huge fan of this book, I thought it was pretty good, :). This is basically the same book as His Kiss, but in Griffin's perspective. it's was great to see everything from another pov. it helps answer questions that you might have wondered. the only thing that annoyed me was the repetitive description he used to describe Ally. what I mean is that every time she was around her either said, "she looked at me like I'm her hero" "There were stars in her eyes" "She looked scared, and frightened" "She ran away ever time she saw me" (Not quotes from the book) I just would have been annoyed if I were him, just saying..... I think the book was well thought out, but there isn't anything more that you will really gain out of reading this. just a good read. would I recommend this book? sure would I read it again? maybe Star count.... 4 stars: For being a good entertaining read that answered the questions I wanted answered.
His Kiss was my favorite Melanie Marks book (especially when read with More His Kiss from the back of High School Boys) and Griffin is my favorite male character by Melanie Marks so Her Kiss was a real treat for me. I'm not sure how enjoyable it would be for someone who hasn't read His Kiss or hasn't embraced Melanie Marks's style of writing but it was great for someone who has. Finding out what Griffin was going through all that time was like a massive Sundae, super indulgent but oh so satisfying. I don't mean to make it sound like it was all butterflies and mush. It wasn't, but it was a good look at Griffin, parts of his life, the way he thought and how he felt about Ally from the first time she gave him a baked good.
All of the hints about Griffin's home life and past have me curious so I'll be reading Griffin when it comes out too.
Update: This series of books didn't age all that well.
Griffin wasn't quite as swoon-worthy in "Her Kiss". Maybe because we get to see his coping skills aren't really coping skills (not going to go into details since it just feels too spoiler-ish). I wish he would have been willing to wait and deal with the issues in his life just a little differently. But he never did give up on his desire for Ally or his willingness to deserve her so that was definitely a plus.
Did I love it as much as "His Kiss"? No. But I LOVED "HIS KISS". LOVED, LOVED, LOVED IT! It is still one of favorite re-reads for a PG swoon-worthy read.
Did I love it? Yes.
Will I read Griffin when it is released? Most definitely. Hopefully, we'll find out some of the issues he was dealing with that "Griffin" really didn't want to go into during "Her Kiss".
I've read a lot of Melanie Marks books and I think i like this one the best!!! Sometimes, the girls in the books seem a little whinny and over reacting so it was nice to get a (sorta) down to earth guy. Even though his problems are rather vague in the book, you can still connect with him and understand how he feel. Really Really liked his take and his (sorta) BFF Mason was hilarious too (but maybe its because i read his book.hmmm....) only complaint? Too short!! (Jk but not really) It was standard book length, but I wanted more!! more info, more back story!! So in conclusion, even though it tended to get a little repetitive, it was still a success.
His Kiss saya baca sekitar 2 tahun lalu. Hampir lupa ceritanya gimana. Sayangnya susah banget nyarinya. Apalagi ceritanya muncul pihak ketiga. Agak bikin gak tertarik.
PG13 - No violence, no sex, some descriptive kissing. Lots of the phrase, "let me shove my tongue down her throat," or variations of that theme. A lot of referencing under-aged drinking. I thought it was super-repetitive, but maybe the character from the other books in the series isn't as deep and interesting as I thought? Or maybe the author needed to fill another book? I am plowing through and reading the next book *Griffin* because I have faith in the relationship between Ally and Griff.
This was basically His Kiss but from his point of view. There were some bits that felt contrived, and a pretty inappropriate relationship that I didn't think was dealt with very realistically. I don't think I liked it as much as I thought I would. But it was ok.
I liked it, I read Her Kiss awhile back and I just loved Griffin and Ally. They're so cute together and it's just a sweet little read. Would recommend Her Kiss in both versions, but I would say read this book after you've read Her kiss in Ally's P.O.V. It gets confusing if you haven't.
I don't always want to read he said/she said versions of books, but since they were such different characters, I decided to try it. I enjoyed his point of view, and appreciated his recognition of her character and quality of life.
I really enjoyed reading Griffin's point of view. It was so sweet. I am really loving this series. He has loved her from afar for years and it was precious hearing it from him.
4.25 Stars - I really enjoyed His Kiss and it was nice to see Griffin's pov. I know it's not the author's style to write about a PG rating but I wish it was more like R. Okay, I'd even take a PG-13
