This is the first book ive read by this author but it wont be the last! Brave New Omega is book 1 in the Wilder Omegas Omegaverse series and is part of a duet.

I loved the aspect of the girls being transported to another planet, it gave highlander and isekei manga vibes. The first story follows Katie the eldest, an ex military woman whos been used to taking care of everyone and putting herself second. When they arrive in the new world she's thrown in deep and has to come to terms with her new designation and world quickly as she tries to find a way home whilst avoiding the hot alphas that just want to take care of her.

The book was a medium burn, with most of the spice happening between 60-80% of the book but it was well worth the wait! As each character develops we learn more about them and their own traumas which they comfort eachother through, it makes it impossible NOT to gain feelings. If you asked me to pick I couldn't! Callum, Max and Loren are pack and they have finally found their omega.

After being left with that cliffhanger I can't wait to read the second book to see what happen!

Katie Wilder and her four sisters go on a hiking trip and accidentally travel to a whole new world—but alphas, betas, and omegas can’t possibly be real, right?

I got the chance to beta read this book, and I’m so so glad that I did! I couldn’t put it down. Katie is SO funny! Her inner monologue had me laughing out loud multiple times. Her bond with her sisters is so sweet, and I love how protective they are of each other.

And don’t get me started on the alphas. 👀 Usually when I read Omegaverse there’s at least one person in the pack that I don’t care for as much, but I love all three of these men. They all balance each other out so well!! And the way they care for Katie 🥹 there’s just the right amount of banter, angst, and longing, and when the spice hits 😮‍💨 it’s so worth it.

I love this story, and I’m dyinggg to get my hands on part two!!

Read this if you like:

Thank you so much to Ramona for providing an arc for an honest review. 💕

Genre: Adult Omegaverse
Spice: 2.5/5 🌶️
4.5 ⭐️ rounded up

Tropes & themes: MMFM, FMC is transported to a world in the Omegaverse, latent omega, scent match mates, veteran FMC, Professor MMC, physical disability rep, scent marking, primal play, good girl / good boy, eldest daughter struggles

Spoiler-free summary:
Katie was on a bonding trip with her sisters when they fell into rip in the universe, depositing them on a planet in the Omegaverse. Now she and her sisters have emerged as omegas, which are ultra rare and highly sought after. Katie finds her true mate alphas almost immediately, but resists their pull in order to find a way to send her and her sisters home. It’s her job to take care of them, and she’ll do anything to see them safely on Earth. Even if she’s been told Travelers never go home.

Thoughts:
I super love the concept of this omegaverse! There’s something really interesting about the FMC and her sisters being transported to whole new world where they’ve become omegas. I really like the way the author has explained everything and the setup of this omegaverse planet.

Katie, the FMC, is a really unique, badass omega. She’s an army veteran, athletic and feisty. But she’s also the eldest sister, and struggles with stepping back from her self-imposed duties to take her of herself. Which is why her woman to cared-for omega arc is so, so good.

I also enjoyed the MMCs, and am looking forward to seeing their relationships solidify and deepen in part two! There’s Callum, the emotionally damaged pack leader, Loren a sexy Professor, and Max, a hunky golden retriever. I love how they compliment Katie.

I definitely recommend this for omegaverse readers, and I think this is a GREAT option for new omegaverse readers because you can learn the ins and outs alongside Katie!

I was really hoping that this author would choose to break free of the OV biology rules, but alas she didn't.
Instead, she took a very well disciplined, very intelligent, very strong woman and had her succumb to Body Betrayal Syndrome within the first 12% of the book.
"I should stop him. I don’t know him. This is unacceptable behavior. But every part of my body seems to know him, seems to be making decisions for me. Decisions that involve dragging my nails up his back and shoulders to grab his wide lapels."

"I clench my thighs together, an overwhelming wave of desire rolling through me. This was assault, and my body needs to get on board and know the fucking difference."

"A fucking school girl whimper. I didn’t fucking cry when they dug out shards of glass with tweezers and only half the necessary lidocaine. I’m not going to whimper in a car accident. But I do. And a strange instinctive need to curl into Loren overwhelms me."

Man, did I have hopes HIGH hopes for this book and this world; however, the author took the easy way out for so many things. First, everyone spoke English. Second, cars and technology existed that was parallel to Earth (even though so many different realms feed into this one). Of course phones exist and they could be tracked. And cars drive the same as on Earth. Third, clothes are the same and so are textures.

Oh, and of course the dumb nicknames: Tough Girl, Love, sunshine, Oh my Omega, sweetheart.
The author doesn't understand the basic writing rules when it comes to words of endearment.
Even though the book and the direction the author chose to take the alternate realm is mediocre, I would have rated this three stars; however, because the author chose to have a very real military person turn into a whimpering girl, one star was deducted.

Brave New omega Part one by Ramona Maxine
Out September 12th, 2024

Imagine this: you’re just out hiking with your sisters, vibing with nature, and suddenly—BAM—you’re catapulted into a whole new world where humans are divided into Alphas, Betas, and Omegas. Plot twist: you and your sisters are Omegas, and in this world, they’re ultra rare..

Katie Wilder, our fierce MC, is not having it. She’s all about getting her sisters back to Earth and isn’t exactly thrilled about her new role.
Throw in some super hot Alphas who are ready to make her their central gem, and you’ve got drama, tension, and a whole lot of chemistry.

The book’s omegaverse setup is brilliantly explained—perfect if you’re new to the genre. It really explains what the designations are and the different traits between alpha beta and omega.

Let’s talk about the Alphas: Max is giving major “golden retriever” vibes, while Loren is the sweet but dirty Professor.
Callum is the emotionally damaged pack leader and will probably be my favorite after book 2!
The broken boy that plays hard to get has always been my type.

Fair warning: the cliffhanger is real and it’ll leave you craving the next installment like yesterday!

First I love a good OV book and being the oldest sister of 4 and 4 brothers this really checked all the boxes and opened up a world and has great character development. I can’t wait for book 2 and to see where each of her sisters end up and watching their stories unfold. A great first book. Katie, and her alphas are relatable and real and I’m here for it, even if I have to wait to get my HEA

The number one genre that I read is Omegaverse. I have read so many Omegaverse series that I don’t think I could count the number that I have read. I enjoy almost all of them and the authors that write them. But what I can honestly say is that I have never read one quite like Brave New Omega Part One. I loved the new angle on the Omegaverse story. In most Omegaverses, the characters are either born into a world where Alphas, Betas, and Omegas are the norm or they live in secret in on Earth. But this story changes that and gives us regular human characters that are transported against their will to another world where, unlike theirs, Alphas, Betas, and Omegas are normal. They are forced to learn all about a world that is very similar to their own except for a very major thing.

I loved the Wilder sisters. I appreciate how different they all are from each other and how close they are. I loved Katie so much. As a disabled veteran myself, I definitely related to her and how she reacted to her new situation. She is tough and stubborn and not very submissive because she has had to be. She is the oldest and feels like it’s her responsibility to take care of her sisters. I see so much of myself in her. I really can’t wait to see what happens next with her. And I personally really hope that the NC college that she went to with the brick is the right one because I will just love her even more. 😉

The guys all have my heart. Loren is so sweet and wonderful. His respect for Katie is so amazing. I loved Max’s playful flirting. He’s the big, bad fighter, but such a goof. And I even loved grumpy Callum. He has been hurt and he’s cautious. The relationship between the guys and their relationship with Katie had me flying through this book.

I really loved this book. If there is one thing I have an issue with, it is the fact that I have to wait for the next book to have my questions answered. I can’t wait for the next one. This one had a good amount of spice in the second half and ends on a cliffhanger. I will be watching for book 2 because I need to know what comes next.

Let me say this was the first book I have read by this author, and it will not be my last. I was hooked from the start. I was unable to put it down and read it one sitting (till around 3 am mind you)/
Tropes & themes you’ll find throughout this book: Omegaverse, newly awakened omega, first heat, scent matches, veteran FMC with disability, Professor in the pack, scent marking, primal play, praise kinks, eldest sibling struggles

We meet Katie and her sister who are on their annual bonding trip in Seattle when they fell into a tear in the universe. The tear deposits them on another planet in what feels like another universe. This new planet happens to be an Omegaverse. Katie and her sisters have been designated as unbonded omegas. Omegas of course are ultra rare and highly sought after. Katie is panicking and running from the hospital when she runs into an alpha. This alpha is her scent match. The run in does not come without hiccups. After some paperwork is filed, Katie goes to live with the Alpha and his pack as per the planet’s custom. Katie is struggling to adjust to new rules, hormones, designation and growing attraction to the pack of alphas. The alphas recognize her as their scent mate and set out to woo her. Katie is determined to make it back to Earth, but she is running out of time as her first heat is approaching and fast.

I enjoy reading omegaverses and this one is not a disappointment. The author does a great job with the world building and explaining things. Since Katie is new to the planet, as she learns things, so do we which makes following along helpful. I adore Katie. She is very relatable as a FMC. She’s an army veteran, athletic and feisty. She is the exact opposite of everything an omega is supposed to be and I love that she doesn’t lose that part of herself in this new world. Karie is also the eldest sister and feels like it is her place and duty to care for her 4 younger sisters. Katie struggles to balance this desire and I love that the pack helps her achieve that balance.

4/5 ⭐️ 2.5/5 🌶️

NOTE: it ends on a cliffhanger

I really want to say how much I loved the epigraph at the start of this book. ‘To all the first born daughters who spent their childhoods being responsible for everyone else - may you have all the love and adventure your heart desires.’ This really hit home for me, and I felt it down to my soul. And what a perfect way to start a book!

This was a really great read from the start to the finish. I’ve read quite a few omegaverse books and I liked the authors take on this one. We follow Katie and her sisters as they fall through their world to the world of Amaata, where everything is similar, but the biggest difference is, this world has designations. Alphas, betas and omegas.

The world building in this book was really easy to follow and wasn’t too overbearing. I liked that it had similarities to Earth with the differences being easily comprehensible. The relationship between Katie and her sisters was something I really related to. Her feeling like she needed to protect them and manage their hardships on her shoulders, it was written really well.

Her relationships with the MC’s was well paced and felt realistic. I loved seeing how her first two MC’s tried to win her over and I fell in love with them and their different personalities. Her third MC was a definite slow burn and we were left on a cliffhanger but damn am I excited to see how their relationship develops as the books continue on!!

I did find that it was slightly repetitive and could have possibly been shortened, but it wasn’t a turn off from reading it. Just something I noted. I look forward to the future books in this series!

I thought the concept on this omegaverse was different and something I’ve never read before! I loved how different it was. This book was interesting and the way that it turned from being in a normal world but then traveling to a omegaverse world. I thought the set up for the world was good and I liked the detail into explaining things.

The FMC Kate is an interesting character. Very unique and the eldest of the sisters that also travel to another world with her. I really enjoyed the MMC’s and the way they are taken with Katie and how she isn’t the normal omega. However I will say sometimes the FMC did bug me a little bit but I think it’s just because I wanted her to accept that she is loved and doesn’t always have to look after her sisters. I really love how the MMC’s seem to compliment Katie, each in a different way making the perfect pack.

I will say at first I kinda had a hard time getting into the book. It did take me a couple days before I finally got past the funk and once I did I really enjoyed this book.

Overall, I’d say I really enjoyed this story of Katie’s although that cliffhanger got me! I am excited for book two and can’t wait to see where Katie’s journey goes. I do recommend this book to any omegaverse lovers looking for a unique and fun take on a book. Very cute start! Can’t wait for the second!

For a moment I thought every book in this series would feature another Wilder sister, but I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that this first book ended in a cliffhanger, where I suspect the second book will also be part of Katie’s story. Yes, pleasantly surprised, because it didn’t feel right to let Katie’s story be done so quickly.

I really loved the concept of this series, with five sisters stumbling upon a portal to another world where they suddenly have to find a way to settle in as omegas who never heard about the concept at all. Add to that the fact that omegas are rare in this world, and that no one is used to one with a backbone, you get some interesting interactions between people from both worlds.

I do feel like the storyline doesn’t always flow at the same pace though, and I have to admit Katie’s stubbornness started to get on my nerves at a certain point. Perhaps it hit me even harder because I really like the guys she was matched with and I was practically screaming at my kindle to just give them a chance. So yes, I’m happy there will be a second book, and I hope it will be one where Katie finally settles and dares to give the men a chance. I’m also fascinated by this world and I hope future books will explore a lot more of it.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5

Katie is the alpha of her sisters. She was put in charge of their safekeeping after they lost both their parents. After leaving the military due to an injury, her sisters and her travel together leading to a portal to an alien world where they are suddenly classified as omegas. Desperate to keep her sisters safe, Katie fights against their new normal while fighting her instinctual attraction to Cal, Loren, and Max. Who are also trying to allow her to acclimate while wanting to show her everything she could have with them. All incredibly kind and patient (in their own ways, one less obviously so), Katie starts to wonder what she is running away from and why…

Lots of action! I loved the system and the way Ramona introduced it all. Simply cannot relate to Katie and how long she fought against it… just saying. But I CAN relate to being the caretaker and wanting everything that’s best for her sisters after all the trauma they’d endured.

Yes you should read this!!! One of two in a duology hopefully coming later this year but let her take the time she needs!!!! Very honored to have been a beta and arc reader.

While on a Wilder Sister bonding trip, Katie and her four younger sisters traveled to a foreign world, one with Alpha, Beta, and Omega designations. It's a world of packs with rare Omegas as their center, and Katie and her sisters have all been revealed as Omegas. Katie isn't interested in the new world. As the protector in the family, she has one mission - safely return her sisters to Earth. When Katie is matched to a Pack, she finds herself torn. She is attracted to her Alphas, but she has no choice. She must get her sisters back home.

I had high hopes for this story. The premise was great. However, Katie was not. I loved the idea of a proficient military female, however, I wasn't prepared for her to be so close-minded. She was so single-minded and refused to see other possibilities. She ignored her wants and didn't listen to what her sisters were saying. I didn't find her likable and that put a damper on the entire story. It lessened my enthusiasm for the entire series. I was disappointed to find out her story was a duet instead of a standalone because I am hopeful the other sisters will be more likable to me.

I received this book in "trade" for an honest review.

First off... I so hope this book gets another round of edits before it's published, because phew! The spelling errors, wrong words, missed space between the end of a sentence and the beginning of another, missed punctuation, switching from past to present tense in one sentence, etc.

Okay, now onto the actual book... I don't know what I think of Katie, tbh. She frustrated me deeply and I wanted to shake sense into her, but I also got that she's floundering in a world that is totally new to her. I hope in book 2, she learns to trust herself and others. She needs to learn that she CAN be vulnerable and lean on others. The girl needs therapy.

Loren!! My love 💙 His character was just amazing. I was like "ugh not a blonde", but he ended up being my favorite haha. Though I do love Max, too!

I'm looking forward to seeing Callum grow in part 2. Crossing my fingers that I can snag an ARC of that one, too.

I was lucky enough to get an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Holy smokes! This book was a wild ride of emotions and angst! But omg it was SO GOOD.

Seriously, I fricken love the portal/falling through time or dimensions trope and this was done so so so well!

The FMC was ridiculously strong in body and will, especially since she was a captain in the army. But I think she hasn’t figured out how to stop being in the army, she def needs some therapy and to actually listen to her sisters. If she had it would have solved a lot of the angst.

I adore the MMC’s, strong, sweet, caring but not overbearing. They just wanted to show her they were worth it and to convince her that if she stayed she would be happy. Again if she had some therapy I think alllll the angst would have been dealt with much easier lol

Absolutely fantastic book. I’m ridiculously excited for book 2. I will be anxiously awaiting it in my own nest of blankets and pillows.

My rating is based entirely on my enjoyment. The writing and world building were great. All the characters were fleshed out, had a unique voice, and felt real.

My issue was I simply could not stand being in Katie's head - and that's where most of the book is. I am not an eldest daughter and do not have her drive for control and to make sure everything is right for her younger sisters. I HATE when characters are put into a completely foreign situation and #1) deny their new reality and #2) act like they know better than the people of that place. And that's what Katie did. I do think her feelings were fair, but *I* do not want to read over 300 pages of a character doing that. Also, what did she need to get back to Earth for??? All her family is with her in this new place!

I know this will absolutely work as a duet and am looking forward to getting the rest of the sister's stories.

This was a new take on the omegaverse that I thoroughly enjoyed. There was a good amount of character and world building. I feel this is definitely a series that once completed will make the first one more enjoyable as there seems to be a building overall story arc. I am looking forward to the future books in the series. My only issue with this story is the way that Alphas have “no control” over themselves around omegas especially unbounded ones. I feel like this is so overused and makes it so the Omegas are scared and forced into relationships faster than they should. It gives excuses to the Alpha characters in this genre to have no accountability for their actions and so there is less character building and virtually any Alpha can be the villain with no rhyme or reason.

I loved this new take on the Omegaverse genre. 5 sisters accidentally teleported from modern day earth to a new world that's omegaverse and they're all rare omegas?

I wish this had been my intro until the OV genre because it has everything you could want for a beginning to a series and into the OV world as a whole. This is a low-medium burn and the chemistry between Katie Wilder and her new pack is off the charts!

I loved the entire book. From Katie's big sis protectiveness, to each guy's unique personality, and even all the cute domestic stuff while Katie tries to adjust to this new world.

This is so well written! The spice is NICE and the dialog is popping.

A must-read for newbies and seasoned readers of omegaverse alike!

Can't wait for part 2!

This was a great lead into the series and the omega verse trope, the main female characters are pulled into an alternate world where alpha/beta/omega designations define your life and because they are new in this world you learn the differences with them instead of the assumption that you already know the trope.
I found the pressure of being the oldest sister and keeping the family close very relatable, being that older siblings tend to end up being the babysitter or caregiver for younger siblings. I did find the main female character to be overly difficult with her situation but not as to be impossible to see her view points. I am looking forward to part 2!

I was REALLY close to giving this 4 stars (I'm kinda picky with my 5 stars). I think it had awesome potential with the storyline! I love the idea of the sisters falling/passing from earth to this new world that was A/B/O centered and they had no clue. In fact I'd say that the first bit of the book was great!

Katie and her sisters wake up in a hospital, surrounded by people who now tell them they are omegas and over the next few days they are informed of this whole new world of designations and what that means. Although Katie is an omega, she is strong and incredibly protective of her sisters (almost alpha-like) but of course is the first to meet her mates.

With 3 stars I wanted to point out that I DID like the book. I will read book 2 when it comes out!

This book only get 4⭐️ because ms. Ramona Maxine has left off on A horrible cliffhanger and I have to know what happens next.

This easily could be one of those books where I binge read the entirety of the series in less than a week. I loved Loren and Callum relationship and how they loved each other and how fiercely Max loves all of them.

Katie is so strong but also so stubborn. I admire that about her but I swear to god if Roark made her bond to him I’m gonna be pissed.

I need the next part like I need air to breathe please and thank you.

I really liked this book, I loved the premise behind it, and it's goes great with omegaverse. I was intriued how this was going to play out, but it didn't disappoint, yes we ended with a cliffy, but I know it's going to be sooooo worth it. Kate is a mega controlling, and she means well, but as the oldest, it kinda comes with the territory. For her to show as an omega is like a kick to the teeth.
I honestly love how the story shaped the characters and the development of Kate was so strong. I highly recommend this.

it was ok.

Yeah just Ok… however I think the author ( so many waste time on repeat internal prattling dialog. I mean how many times do we have to full space with her needing to state she needs to go back to an unfulfilled life and home? 🤔 enough already. I swear this is such a great genre, and we have so few who do it well. This one was not in the “do it well” category.
Unfortunately!!!

Women for yah… we just don’t trust universal process, especially when it’s wholesome.

I really really enjoyed this take on omegaverse. It's not like any that I have read before. The whole premise is Katie and her sisters have been whisked into an alternate reality where they are omegas. Omegas are rare and sought after, but Katie just wants to get her sister back home. I loved that the conflict here was really within Katie herself - does she really want to go home because staying would be giving up or does she want to settle into this new life that she has found herself thrust into?

I made the mistake of starting this book before bed, and I ended up staying up way too late reading (a mark of a great book). It had me hooked from the beginning.

I love Katie’s character. She feels so authentic and the choices she makes throughout the book make sense for her situation and character. Loren, Max, and Callum are well developed with their own personalities.

The world building is top notch and I love how in depth it is. I cannot wait for part 2 to see how Katie’s story ends and I’m excited for her sister’s books.

I love this fresh take on OV. What would you do if you suddenly became an omega? What if it only happened after being dropped into another world? How would you deal with alpha holes when you were a military officer?
Katie has to deal with this plus trying to protect her 4 sisters. Can she get home? Will she want to?
This story hooked me and I can’t wait for part two to come out. I need to know how Katie’s story ends.

Thoroughly enjoyed reading this book! I love that there is a portal and the five sisters go through it together. They didn't know of course and try to find their way back. Katie is fighting tooth and nail at wanting to go back but is life really great when you find a way? Could perhaps this way of life be better? She is treated well and there's three guys hoping she will be theirs. She is a match of course and the guys are incredibly hot. What's a girl to do?

I requested to be an ARC reader because my best friend was a beta reader for this book and she couldn’t stop raving about it, and now I absolutely understand why 😩
