This steamy, one bed romantic comedy will bring all the laughs while making your cheeks blush at the same time. Sometimes the quietest are the most . . . vocal . . .

Word to the wise, never become roommates with a girl you’ve been pining over for the better part of a year.

You’re probably wondering why I would do such a thing? Well, I didn’t.

It was my teammates.

The moment they found out Blakely White was single, they took it upon themselves to play cupid and instruct me on how I should win her over.

Don't wear a shirt around her.
Make her dinner.
Lightly touch her shoulder when you say goodbye.

I'm so flustered, so overwhelmed, so madly in love with this woman who barely notices me, that I lose control of the situation and make one huge mistake: I offer to be her fake date for a wedding so she can make her ex jealous.

That means, for one whole night I get a free pass with her. I get to hold her, dance with her, kiss her…stare at her from across the room like she’s my entire world because she has been for months now.

But when the night comes to an end, I’m faced with two options: bring her back to my bedroom and show her how I really feel, or let her walk away, succumbing to the fact that I very well might not be her type.

When I was in high school I occasionally read books but was consumed by other teenage things so I didn't take the time to appreciate a good book on a cloudy day, wrapped up in a blanket on the couch. It wasn't until I received a Kindle for Christmas one year that my world completely flipped upside down. When looking for books I came across the Contemporary Romance genre and was sold and I haven't turned back since.

You can either find my head buried in my Kindle, listening to inspiring heart ripping music or typing away on the computer twisting and turning the lives of my characters while driving my readers crazy with anticipation.

I currently reside in beautiful Colorado Springs where the sun is always shining and there is a trail waiting to be hiked on every corner. I share a lovely and warm home with the love of my life and my five, four-legged children.

Oh my god oh my god oh my god. I have had tears in my eyes for like the last 15% of this book. Wow talk about heart warming ending that played with my emotions.

Y’all, I was in the worst of reading slumps & decided to start this book & I should’ve just KNOWN meghan Quinn would come through & get me right out of it. I was immediately hooked and couldn’t put it down!!! I alternated between reading the ebook & the audio arc & it was just phenomenal. The fact that we get a FULL CAST WITH SOME AMAZING NARRATORS makes me so happy.

Halsey was such a freaking cinnamon roll, but also happened to be a broken MC (who is grieving the loss of his twin brother) & I loved everything about him. It’s the multi-year pining for ME!!! We start off the book with him seeing/meeting Blakely for the first time & I feel like it was love ar first sight for him. But OPE WE HIT A ROAD BLOCK when he finds out that Blakely has a boyfriend ://// then fast forward to the here & now, Blakely & her bf have broken up and she needs a place to stay. Halsey’s teammates step in to help rectify his long term crush by offering up Halsey’s place for Blakely to stay at temporarily. And then the fun begins!!!!! A bunch of wingmen to the rescue (well at least they try lmao). My favorite thing EVER was seeing Halsey go from a shy, stumbling-over-his-words, man to a confident alpha in the sheets who has the DIRTIEST MOUTH IVE EVER SEEN heheh. I WAS SWOONING LEFT & RIGHT. Blakely was such a wonderful character & she was so fun!! We get to see her blossom & how much she learns when she is surrounded by a man who actually notices the little things & makes her feel loved. I really grew to love her towards the later half of the book when you really see her true character & big ole heart.

His teammates/friends are the most amazing group of men & they are a big reason why I felt so many emotions. Ugh they make my heart so HAPPY! The text threads had me dying of laughter but also the end 😭😭😭😭 pls I am still not recovered from it.

ALSO, NO THIRD ACT BREAKUP!!!!! IM SCREAMING FROM THE ROOFTOPS!!!!! I LOVED THIS BOOK SO DAMN MUCH AHHHH!!!!

Meghan has done it again! This book was AMAZING. I’ve loved every book, but this is hands down my favorite book in the series so far. One of my favorite hockey romances I’ve ever read & believe me I’ve read a lot of them lol. When I tell you I was crying from laughing so hard, I mean it. It’s one reason I just love Meghan & her books so much. I can always count on her to make me laugh until my stomach hurts. But you also get so much romance, spice, & emotion. The ending to this story had me in tears but it was everything I could’ve asked for from Halsey’s story 🥹

This is book 4 in the Vancouver Agitators series following Halsey Holmes & Blakely White. Halsey is a star player for the Vancouver Agitators & Blakely works in the VIP Relations & Marketing Dept. for the Agitators. She is also Halsey’s best friend’s girlfriend’s best friend. He has had a crush on her since the moment he first met her. Unfortunately for him, she had a long term boyfriend so he knew he couldn’t make his move. Well things suddenly change when Halsey & his teammates learn Blakely is newly single & in need of a place to stay. So what happens when Halsey finds himself living with his dream girl but fully in the friendzone…

Halsey… oh my. The way he cared for Blakely & would literally do anything on earth just to make her happy? SWOON. Not to mention THE MOUTH on this man? Holy hell 🥵 I liked Blakely but ended up really loving her towards the end of the book when she really came through & was there for Halsey when he truly needed her. The connection between these two was undeniable & so beautiful.

I can’t wait for Posey’s book & also really hoping we get a book on OC even though he’s new?! I’m already invested in whatever is going on between him & Grace!

Thank you to Meghan & her team for allowing me to read & review early!

He's My Type was soooo good! This is Meghan Quinn's best book she's released in some time IMO. I always enjoy her books, but this one specifically made me laugh so hard, made me swoon, and also made me cry. I loved it!

Halsey is such an amazing hero. I adored him. I wish the end didn't feel quite as rushed (I would have loved an epilogue) and the P---Y names were a lot- A group text with Posey, Pacey, and Penny... not to mention another character named Perry. It took me out of the story trying to keep track of them all in some scenes, but other than that it was wonderful!

4.5 stars: extra points for the audiobook

It was definitely worth a credit! It’s all duet narration and has the narrators from the previous books (6 in total; 4 from the previous books)! Gah! It was so cool to hear their voices in their original characters’ roles 🥰, especially when they’re all in the same room or texting 🥰.

Halsey has been crushing on Blakely for over a year now. The problem? She’s in a serious relationship and loves her boyfriend 😏. So he’s never acted out on his feelings; he does wish from afar that she’d be his. Every time Blakely comes into the office (she works for the Vancouver Agitators), he can’t help but look at her with longing eyes.

And then Posey comes in one day and announces that Blakely is newly-single and Halsey needs to shoot his shot 👀.

Blakely and her ex were together for many years, but he took a job in Australia without consulting her so they ended things. She moves into a new place, but then there’s water leakage everywhere, so she needs to live somewhere temporarily while it gets fixed.

Enter Posey volunteering Halsey’s place for Blakely to stay in 👀, and Halsey can’t say no right? 😉

When Blakely gets a job proposal from none other than Huxley (A Not So Meet Cute), her best friend Penny (Three Little Words) gets in on the male-texting thread (previous Hs in it plus Posey and OC) to help Halsey win Blakely’s heart so that she doesn’t move.

Now if only Halsey can concentrate on shooting his shot and win Blakely’s heart, maybe he can finally be happy 😅.

Let the forced proximity begin 👀

What I liked/loved: possible spoilers
—Halsey reads books 👏🏻. Saaaaaame 💅🤣🤣🤣

—the amount of times I smiled/giggled 🤣. Oh LORDT 🤣😭 I was smiling through most of the book, especially when he came to the side characters 💀. The way so many people got invested in Halsey and Blakely’s love life 🤣💀.

— Blakely accidentally flashing Halsey 🤣. I could die from secondhand embarrassment 💀

—SHERMAN 🤣🤣 the pet plant 🤣. ERMAGOD💀. I was 💀. They treated it like a real pet 😭🤣 and then they get Sherman a companion, and I almost expired

—the inflatable/one bed debacle 💀. Scissors are always dangerous 🤣. RIP to Halsey’s ankle lol (he recovers)

—the 🔥. Uffff… the slow burn was burning 🥵. They don’t kiss until after the 50%, but by 61% they go full 🔥 and it’s 💦. These two make it look like it’s going outta style 🤣. I could only pray for Blakely’s hoo ha 🙏🏻. I need to gift her some ice 😅

—his diiiiirty talk 🥵. Oh. Sure. Halsey’s broody, but daaaaayum when it comes to him opening his mouth 🔥. He holds nothing back, and it’s duuuuurty 😉

— taking care of her first 🔥. Duuuuuh 🥵

—the office scene 😅😉. The commanding tone on him though 🫠🥵

—one bed, forced proximity done right 💅

—THE TEXTING THREADS 🤣🤣🤣🤣. This was one of my favorite parts in the book!!! I couldn’t get enough, especially when the guys ragged on each other 🤣poor OC 🤣 and threatening him because it seems like he’s flirting with Penny 👀 bahahaha. I especially love this because we had so many different voices, with the different characters from previous books… I loved this!

—the Cane brothers making an appearance 👏🏻 I love me some Huxley Cane 😉

— Blakely getting a job offer from Huxley 👀

—the side characters 🫶 and found family ❤️🫶

— the mild OMD 😈. This is when Halsey’s JP side really shined 😈. He also helps put her ex in his place 💅

—how protective and alpha Halsey can be 👀

—toys and more toys 🥵

— how real grief is depicted 😢. Everyone grieves differently, and this was showcased. Halsey’s a hard time dealing with the aftermath of his twin brother’s death, and this was absolutely heartbreaking ☹️. The anger, the impotency, the sadness are all true feelings people, experience, and Halsey‘s been bottling it all up for years 🫶

What I didn’t like/wanted more of: SPOILERS SPOILERS
—the lack of safety talk 😑. Listen. I know that this is fiction etc etc and maybe people don’t like the use of protection, but knowing he hasn’t exactly been celibate and he’s been with all these random women, I wanna know he’s clean 😑. She’s been with ONE guy for many years, how many has he been with? She doesn’t even ask?!?!? 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️

— if Halsey was pining for so long, or rather, was in “love” for so long, why was he sleeping around with randoms? Now, I understand that he doesn’t need to be celibate when she’s been in a committed, serious relationship for so long, but I was kind of bothered by this 😬🫣. Luckily, it only gets brought up a couple of times, but it cheapens the “love” he supposedly has always felt for her since he “saw” her for the first time 😬🤷🏻‍♀️ sigh. Maybe if we had been given an actual number of women he’s been with I’d feel better about this? MAAAAYBE 🫣

— I really wish we got more information about his mom, dad, and older brother. Although it was nice seeing Hayden again (Three Blind Dates and One Baby Daddy), I wish we had seen more of their reuniting. Also, I wish we found out what happened to his dad, what led to his attack, and if he ever rekindled any kind of relationship with his mom (who I HATED!)

— A better epilogue 😭

—therapy 🫶. I really wish Halsey had gotten some professional help or maybe show us he’s planning to? But then again, everyone grieves differently, and Therapy needs to be wanted, so I feel him on this ❤️

Overall, I really enjoyed it 🥰

⚠️safety squad⚠️
-no cheating/sharing/owd
-mild omd: the h’s ex wants her back. The H shuts that down quickly 💅
-loss of a sibling recounted
-death by drunk driving recounted
-mental health/mourning
-toxic mom
-biting/marking/dirty talk/spanking/praise kink/toys/anal play
-no condoms/on birth control/no safety talk though 😑
-HEA/epilogue (less a year later maybe?)

It took me three days to finish this book, whereas normally I could've read this length in one sitting. The story didn't pull me in, and it was not intriguing for me. There were good parts, and of course, humor is something Ms. Quinn's really crafted so well in her books. I had fun reading about the interaction between these men and their group convos and how they're always there for one another. However, there are also parts of the story that didn't sit well with me.

1. Halsey has been "pining" for Blakely for more than a year, actually since the first time he met her. It was probably love at first sight for him. 🤷‍♀️ But around this time, she's in a relationship, so Halsey tried to get over his "crush" on Blakely by sleeping with random women. Maybe I'm not supposed to get mad at him because, after all, she has a boyfriend, but him sleeping around cheapens the "pining" he has for her. I could probably get on with it if it had been few and far between, but the way it was described, it seemed like he did A LOT of it. So yeah, it left a bad taste.

2. Blakely was offered a once-in-a-lifetime job opportunity that could potentially improve her career. But the people who were supposed to support her dreams, whatever they were, decided to team up so that she wouldn't take this job. And for some reason, this annoyed the crap out of me. They were selfish in trying to prevent her from having a very nice job. Friends are supposed to have your back, even if it means at some point there's a possibility of separation from them.

3. I was honestly pissed when Halsey fumbled like an idiot around Blakely. I bet he doesn't act like this when he's with other women, yet because of his "crush," he keeps making a mess of himself when she's around. I just can't buy the shy type of guy when he's obviously game when it comes to other female species. 🤦‍♀️

4. Then, when they finally did the deed, the rest of the book became all about physical stuff. I would rather read them knowing one another now that they're comfortable with each other's company than to see them jump to bone town every minute. 😐

5. Therapy. Why didn't Halsey talk to someone? It was never mentioned in the book when he clearly needed it. The grief, anxiety, and broken family did something to him, yet he never even considered seeking out professional help on how to deal with these things. I was actually hoping that maybe, in the end, he'd do it, but it never happened. This guy had a lot of baggage. I would've wanted him to let go of his guilt and see that he deserves to be alive and to be around the people he cares about.

6. The romance. I don't know what it is; maybe there's something wrong with me, but I couldn't connect with the MCs. I find it unbelievable that Blakely moved on so easily and quickly and that she's having deep feelings for Halsey. She just got out of a long-term relationship, and not even a month after their breakup, somehow Halsey tilted her axis, and she's feeling these things that she never had for her ex. I mean, seriously? As for Halsey, this guy has been in denial for so long. One minute he'll say what he had for her was a crush, then the next minute he'll spew poetic stuff to say that he loves her and he knew she's it for him from the very beginning. I lost track of the number of times I scratched my head because this guy was so indecisive.

But while I had the issues above, there are things that I did come to like.

1. I did enjoy the guys friendship here. It was enjoyable to see them support one another, and they never shied away from expressing their emotions. They openly cry and even say "I love you" to each other; this would probably be seen as soft in other romance books, but that's not the case here, and I really loved it.

2. I also liked that Blakely took the job, and she negotiated for what she wanted. I'm glad she didn't let this offer pass her by and that she grabbed it. Though I'm not convinced by the romance here, I still liked the fact that she chose Halsey and decided to stay with him during the time he needed her the most. It was endearing to see how much she became invested in him and that she always tried to make him happy.

3. That Halsey is a book lover.

4. Though most of these attempts ended in disaster, it was still cute reading how he tries so much for Blakely. The efforts did pay off eventually, so I guess these failures didn't matter in the long run.

5. How Halsey tried to connect with his family, and he overcame his anxiety by calling them. Though his mom's a different case, I still admire the strength it takes for him to finally talk to them.

6. That he didn't wait to put a ring on her finger. He sure did move fast, because according to him, he had been waiting for much longer, so he doesn't want to waste any more time.

Overall, this was 50-50 with me. I enjoyed it but also got annoyed at some parts. This is still a good read and safe for me, at least.

If she mentions her ex-boyfriend one more time 💀 “Perry never let me order cheese pizza” literally no one cares
Also unnecessarily over-explained everything — just say you’re sitting on the couch, not the 42 reasons why you’re sitting on the couch

The first half of this book was hilarious and I was laughing and smiling a lot. The group text threads were very funny and very well done. Posey literally made this book and I would love to read a book just about him. This is my first book of the series so now I want to read more just for Posey.

The middle had tons of spice. The spicy scenes were a little much for my taste. I don’t know that butt stuff belongs in a romantic comedy like this, but maybe that’s just a personal preference. And all the spanking, like it seemed like overkill and the hickeys- none of that seemed to fit with Halsey’s personality or the book itself. This is the part that took it down from 5 stars for me personally.

Then the last part got very serious and had some very sad parts, but the ending was very heartwarming. I really felt the bond between all the characters. I definitely recommend giving this one a read.

Pre-release: This audiobook cast is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 my ears WILL be blessed. can't wait for this release

12/2/23: WOW 😭 God I love this series so much. Right Man, Right Time has been my favorite but this might’ve just taken top spot 😭👏🏻 if I could give it a standing ovation, I would. The cast was perfect for the audiobook, like so much so I want them all to go back in and do the first three books again with a full cast cause UGH that took this over the edge of perfect for me. And holy shit Halsey’s dirty talk???? Lord have mercy. His protectiveness over Blakely too? HOT. But also his grieving process and going through that? He’s just a great character. And Blakely is so sweet with him. The other guys too. The way everyone just loves on Halsey, it’s my fave. 🥹 next better be Posey’s book, and immediately gonna need one about OC too 👏🏻

i don't like it, I LOOOOOVE IT.

i haven't read this series before and now i need to go back and read them all because this was simply EVERYTHING. it was so funny, so cute, so heartwarming, so everything!!!

FIRST OF ALL, WHAT DO I ALWAYS SAY? IT'S ALWAYSSSSS THE QUIET ONES. halsey had absolutely no right to be a closeted freak with a dirty mouth. like sir.

she works in the marketing department on his team and he's a ho9ckey player who's been crushing on her since literally, day one. now that she's blessedly single, his friends graciously volunteer his spare bedroom since she needs a place to stay. thus ensues allll the roommates, forced proximity, tension, awkward moments, etc. that made this book SO GOOD.

just a 10/10.

Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Trope: one bed
Angst: 😱😱😱1\2
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I don't even know where to start with this book. It was absolutely fantastic and by far, my favorite of the series! A great storyline that moved quickly and was both laugh out loud funny as well as deeply emotional.

We are blessed with a hero that is far outside the norm of most romances I read and I was totally here for it! He was sweet, sensitive, super thoughtful, and a total simp for the girl he has been obsessed over. He sees an opening and is totally shooting his shot. But don't fear that his being a simp means he's not manly, lol. He's still super growly, possessive, and protective of her and once they get together, she sees a completely different side of him in the bedroom. I HAVE to mention the smexy times! This is a bit of a slow burn, but when they start, holy cow, my kindle almost couldn't take it. SUPER 🔥🔥🔥.

It really is a wonderful story and I thought Meghan did a fantastic job discussing the death of a sibling and the devastation it can cause to a family. Well done, but definitely triggering if that's something you've been through.

Overall, A wonderful read that I'd highly recommend!

I wanted to love this SOSOSO bad!! I’ve been looking forward to Halsey’s book since book 1 but it didn’t give what I wanted it to give.

‼️ SPOILERS ‼️

He’s Not My Type follows Halsey and Blakely. Halsey plays for the Vancouver Agitators hockey team while Blakely works for the team. They met one year ago and Halsey immediately knows she’s the one for him. Unfortunately for Halsey she has a boyfriend so his feelings have to stay hidden. Their story picks up a year later when Blakey and her boyfriend break up. Halsey’s friend group (and teammates) decide he has to make a move NOW! Luckily for them Blakely is in need of a place to live and Halsey just happens to have a spare room. She accepts until she makes a decision on taking a new job and moving. With her decision looming over their heads, Halsey and his friends alongside Penny (Blakely’s best friend) come up an ongoing plan to make Blakely fall hard for Halsey so she won’t want to move.

I liked a lot of scenes throughout this.
Their first meeting with a flustered Halsey?Adorable. 🥰
The protective/possessive side with her landlord and ex bf? 🥵🥵
The jealousy scene? 🔥🔥
How he WANTS to go shopping with her bc it will make her happy? 🫶🏻🫶🏻☺️
Their first date was so cute!
The moments where he would just look at her and just not believe this was real life. *swoon* 😍

“How can I be this lucky? How is this actually happening right now? This woman who has had my heart, my mind, my fucking soul since the moment I met her, how did I possibly get her to fall for me? I’ll never know, but I’ll spend the rest of my life making sure she will always be mine.”

My issues with this book stem from something that’s very double standard of me but
(1) I wish he was celibate during the year he was pining after her. I know she was in a relationship but in my head he couldn’t have been pining after her that bad if he was able to be with others. I like my fictional men to be down so bad that they can’t even LOOK at another woman. And it’s made worse when it’s mentioned how he thought of Blakely every time.. 🤮🤢
(2) Piggyback off of #1… how does someone that is SO confident in the bedroom be so hopeless when it comes to a girl? Obviously he’s picked up women so WHY is it so difficult with Blakely?
(3) Everyone trying to trick her into not taking a job that sounded fabulous and would be such a good move career wise was icky and so selfish!! I’m glad it didn’t turn into some big drama and she worked it out on her own but still!
(4) HALSEY NEEDS THERAPY!!! Not one mention of him seeing someone to help with his grief. Throughout the series we see how Halsey is not coping with the loss of his brother and getting Blakely to be his will just magically cure that? No. Having friends and a partner to talking about the bad & good days/memories is wonderful but for them to take all of the weight there? I absolutely LOVE that he found someone that he is comfortable opening up to but still… he needs a therapist. A relationship and sex is not going to help work through his grief and it’s not fair to Blakely to have to be put in that situation.

Meghan Quinn's latest addition to the Vancouver Agitators series, "He's Not My Type," is an absolute gem! From the first page to the last, this roommates-to-lovers sports romance had me hooked, blending laughter, romance, and emotional depth seamlessly. 🌟

Halsey Holmes, the star player for the Vancouver Agitators, finds himself in an unexpected situation when his teammates decide to play matchmaker, revealing his secret crush on Blakely White, who recently became single. The story unfolds with hilarious advice, awkward encounters, and a fake date proposition that turns the tables on their relationship dynamics. 😂💔

Meghan Quinn, has once again showcased her exceptional talent in crafting characters that are not only relatable but also incredibly endearing. Halsey's genuine care for Blakely and his determination to win her heart will make you swoon. 😍

Blakely, working in VIP Relations & Marketing for the Agitators, adds a refreshing dynamic to the story. As the layers of her character unfold, readers witness a beautiful transformation, making her not just Halsey's dream girl but also a strong, supportive partner. 👫💖

The chemistry between Halsey and Blakely is undeniable and beautifully portrayed. The way their connection evolves from roommates to something deeper is both heartwarming and, at times, heart-wrenching. The emotional rollercoaster is expertly balanced, keeping readers engaged and invested in their journey. 🎢😢

As the fourth installment in the Vancouver Agitators series, this book stands out as my favorite. The humor, romance, and a hint of spice make it a captivating read. The ending, though emotional, left me with a sense of fulfillment. 📖👏

This one took my breath away from laughing, swooning and getting hit in the feels and I eagerly await the next installment in the Vancouver Agitators series. 🌟🏒

Hilariously funny, sweetly romantic, and super steamy!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 🖤💙❤️💜💚
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌍🌏
Character development: 🙂🥰☺️😎😂
Narrator(s): 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration type: Duet Narration - ✨Full Cast ✨

The heroine: Blakely - she is best friends with Penny from Those Three Little Words. She is outgoing and sometimes loud. She stands up for what she believes in and is loyal to her friends. She works in VIP sales and marketing for the Vancouver Agitators hockey team.

The Hero: Halsey Holmes - he plays Professional hockey for the Vancouver Agitators. His five best friends are also on the team. He lost his twin brother Holden a few years ago and has been a bit of a hermit ever since. He does go to Banff with his friends in the off-season as usual, though his friends are worried about him because all he does is read. He doesn’t talk much either.

The Story: Halsey is interested in Blakely from the first time he sees her. He thinks she is the most beautiful woman he has ever seen, and she is the first person to make him feel anything since his brother died. Unfortunately, he finds out she has a boyfriend right when he was about to ask her out. He has been crushing on Blakely ever since.

Blakely and her boyfriend broke up after he got a job in Australia and expected her to move away with him. Her job was and life in Vancouver and she didn’t want to move away with him. When her new apartment floods, she has to find a new apartment temporarily. Halsey’s friends offer up his spare room for her. Halsey has no reason to say no, especially when each of his friends chime in on the offer. So, Blakely moves in the next day. Since Blakely recently ended a long-term relationship, she isn’t interested in starting anything new, she plans to be just friends with Halsey.

I liked that this book has a cross-over with A not so meet cute, which is from the Cane Brothers series, also by Meghan Quinn. I listened to that audiobook recently and remembered Huxley Cane well. Blakely meets with him, and he offers her a job for which she might have to move to California. There weren’t any intimate scenes until more than halfway through the book, but once they finally hooked up, it was so hot!

This one was also so funny, I was laughing until tears were in my eyes, and I was wheezing like I was having an asthma attack. I swear every book in this series gets funnier and funnier. These characters are terrific and a laugh riot. When Halsey’s friends and Penny start offering him advice on how to get Blakely to fall in love with him, I was rolling every time they had a text conversation.

This audiobook was told in dual points of view via duet narration and was narrated by Connor Crais and Erin Mallon. These are two of my favorite narrators. Connor Crais has a deep, sexy voice and Erin Mallon has a clear, feminine voice. Both are very pleasant. Additionally, there were a bunch of other narrators for the supporting characters. Teddy Hamilton, Jason Clarke, J.F. Harding, and Kelsey Navarro-Foster all do a terrific job as well.

This book was not it
It has so many good reviews and the rating is so high that I thought I would for sure love it. But I had to force myself to read this, I ended up skimming most of it. The writing was just overall bad. The texting took up way too many pages and wasn’t really necessary. A main contributing factor to why I didn’t like this were the conversations; I hate books where conversations are written in a way people don’t actually talk and this was that.

Ughhh Meghan Quinn could write anything and I'll still love it. I'm not usually a huge fan of long romance books, and this was pushing 500 pages but I loved every bit of it. Her timeline of the book is laid out so well and I never get bored. It is the perfect slow burn with just the right amount of tension. ALSO no third-act break-up scene which is always a plus.

The end was a bit heavy; it hurt the heart, but Meghan Quinn literally created the best 'found family' with this hockey team. The spice was also HIGH. Holy. Definitely the spiciest one she's written.

The book was also PACKED with the best tropes - hockey, opposites attract, roommates, forced proximity, and one bed!!! I also adore every character in this world and love how we see Huxley in this one quite a bit. Interconnected couple series are generally my favourite and I NEED Posey's book now.

Oh gosh, I was really not prepared for the way I loved this book. Halsey is now at the very top of my book boyfriend list where he will forever remain. He is not only the best MMC of this series, but one of the best men that MQ has ever written. He has my heart in his hands just as he does Blakely's!

Honestly, I started out with some mixed reactions: was it all hilarious? Yes. Did I love Blakely? Of course. But I was really nervous that this would end up being another JP and Kelsey situation (IYKYK) but THANKFULLY at around 44% it took a turn for the best, and the emotions were just top notch writing. That's not to say that the first third of the book was bad, because it wasn't. I just wish that Blakely had opened her eyes a bit sooner to the possibilities with Halsey, but once she did, she was such a goner. I honestly loved how their relationship evolved and how every side of Halsey -- the shy, quiet book nerd and the domineering, dirty talking alpha were all loved and appreciated.

If you've read the other books in the series, then you know that Halsey had his life changed irrevocably when his twin brother died. Since then he's been a shell of who he once was, but as soon as he meets Blakely, she awakens something in him again. Even though she had a boyfriend when they first met, he got a spark of life back, and when they went from virtual strangers, to roommates to lovers in the blink of an eye, you saw his transformation so beautifully. I loved how dedicated he was from Blakely from the start: he's not a manho so he wasn't using other women to fill his infatuation with, but instead patiently waited for her to come to him. And although their situation may have been a bit unorthodox and it took Blakely a little longer than I would have liked for her to really see him, once she did they just had the most beautiful relationship. I LOVED how she quieted his fears and insecurities, and they talked things through like actual adults. PLUS -- NO THIRD ACT BREAKUP. Ugh, that gets my kitty purring so hard.

As for the heat in this book, MQ took it to a whole other notch, because OH MY FUCK, it was HOOOOT. I knew Halsey was going to be kinky, but I didn't think he would be like he was, but I'm all here for it.🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵

The ending made me really cry, and not just for what Halsey went through, but knowing first hand how awful parents can be the main voice in your head and overcoming that is such a battle -- but the bromances between Halsey and the rest of the guys, especially Eli, had me straight up bawling. I'm all here for men being free with their emotions, and these hunky ass hockey players do it so well!

I know i talked mostly about Halsey, but Blakely was fantastic too! She was perfect for her boo, and I loved that she not only brought him back to life, but brought out a whole other side to him too. She was so funny and sweet, and I just adored her. I could have done without all the mentions of her ex, but she was still so amazing.

I love this series so much and I cannot wait for the last hockey man to fall! And maybe even a certain newbie too? Ugh, MQ can do no wrong! Go one click this as soon as you can!

**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions **

2.5? not gonna lie i’m kind of embarrassed to have read this🙈 i’ve liked the other books in this series so i was excited for this one, but it just didn’t hit. halsey’s story is actually really sad, so it was interesting to read that part, but the beginning of halsey and blakley’s relationship was painfully awkward and cringey, and the dirty talk was just wayyy too much yikes

2.5⭐️

Now I love some Meghan - i've read almost every single one but the last few have just been such a flop for me. I wish she would go back to the formula of her earlier books.

- Definitely flew through the book which I always love about this author.
- You get what you typically do from any MQ book, laughter, immaturity, corniness, and a couple "hot" scenes (before it turns OD into straight cringe

- I loved the first half, Halsey was so my type. Quiet, assured humble. You could tell he was going to turn semi Alpha in the bedroom but she took it to an entirely different personality change. It was so over done I was actually cringing.
- Blakely was fine .

The thing MQ is doing more in her books is trying to make these inner monologues so profound but we're missing so much banter between the MCs. We don't need pages and pages of them dissecting the scene that JUST HAPPENED. Something willl happen then it will be an entire CHAPTER of them talking to their friends about what happened and we're forced to read it again. Just for like word count? idk. She didn't used to do this as much in earlier books but it's becoming more and more prevalent.

Now that I'm reviewing I'm realizing I kinda hate this book 😂. Halsey had a good personality and was a really cute MC and no third act breakup so we love that

The first quarter of this book is chaos. Good chaos with meddling friends and text threads TRYING to help a dude out. The middle of the book shows Blakely and Halsey trying to maneuver a roommate relationship with her being completely clueless and him trying not to act like a complete simp.

And then we get to chapter 16. Ladies (and gentleman), heed my warning, this is where they combust and the sweet Halsey goes out the window and bedroom Halsey enters the chat and comes in like a wrecking ball.

Now, if you’ve followed the Agitators series (which you don’t have to, but they are all good) you know that Halsey is grieving the loss of his twin brother. He’s kept a lot of this pent up grief inside and as his relationship with Blakely progresses he feels the need to sort out this grief and I’m not going to give away what happens at the end of this story but I’m pretty sure I stopped breathing for the last couple of chapters.

It just keeps getting worse.

And what's with the characters' names?
Pacey, Winnie, Horsnby, Penny, Ollie, Halsey, Blakely, Perry, Posey

It's freaking confusing 😵‍💫

I enjoyed this and I loved the comedy and the parts in it that dealt with grief. For me that hadn’t read any books in this series the first couple of chapters did a great job of introducing the characters and let’s just say I need to read Silas’s book asap. The romance was so much fun because of the meddling friend group.

Halsey the mmc has had a crush on Blakely(f) for a long time. When Blakely and her longer term boyfriend break up and she needs a place to stay Halsey’s group of friends come up with plans and instruct him on what to do to do they can end up together. When Blakely moves in then starts the scheming and the closer friendship and I it was really good. The group text messages were silly but so fun. Halsey was such a sweet caring man, even with his grief he was so in tune with Blakely. Also a man that loves to read, sign me up please! I loved the found family/friendship aspect of this book. Halsey biology family may not have there him but he had a huge support in all his friends. Definitely read this if you love heartwarming and spicy romcoms. Thank you Good Girls Pr for the arc for an honest review.

Tropes/themes:

Halsey Holmes has my entire heart. I am now unsure as to who my favourite Meghan Quinn man is because Halsey just came in and ruined me.

This was a hockey romance, he falls first, roommates, one bed, dabble of fake dating in there too kind of romance. He is the quiet, reader who keeps to himself after he suffered a great loss. And she comes in and makes him feel this light, this happiness and calm for the first time in years.

The spice was SPICING! 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
His mouth. The toys. The tension! Oh I was eating that up. It was also HILARIOUS! The banter between the team mates was amazing. Posey 😂 gosh I adore that goof ball. So good.

But I also cried. I had tears down my cheeks near the end of the book. This was such a great book, I am so obsessed with this series.

might make me a pariah after saying this, but I'm not a big fan of dual pov. I like my men mysterious and getting their povs usually just lessen their coolness in my head. they have to be extremely likable (grumpy/funny/evil/mean/hostile/rude/vicious/entertaining) for me to enjoy the men's pov.

the one in this one was way too normal, would much prefer we only getting the story told from the girl's view
