In the heart of Nashville's mystic backroads, Sunny Fields, a proud ranch inheritor, crosses paths with Grant Tomlin on a stormy night. What begins as an act of shelter soon ignites a passionate connection between them. However, their love is tested by the flames of jealousy when Sunny's farmhand, Eric, discovers their bond, threatening to tear them apart.
Unbeknownst to them, Sunny's ancestral ties hold supernatural powers, embodied by her grandfather's fabled sweet tea recipe. This elixir of hidden truths and spectral energies becomes a catalyst, unraveling many secrets.
"Backroads & Sweet Tea" weaves a tale where fate intertwines with the ethereal. Love and betrayal entangle amidst the shadows, drawing readers into a world where the ordinary and extraordinary collide, and the mystic enchantment of Nashville's backroads sets the stage.
Backroads & Sweet Tea was a short story that fits the bill of “well that escalated quickly”. I think the story was pretty good, I wish it were longer. I love when this author writes about supernatural beings and we got a slight glimpse of that in this story.
I loved this little short story. The way they came together. The way everything played out. The acceptance of it all. The beautifully HEA. I’d love more from them it on the farm.
I really enjoyed this novella. The very detailed descriptions of the scenery and of the characters thoughts and emotions were so vivid. The way in which Sunny and Grant crossed paths and clicked so easily was a little scary to me in the beginning because you just never know a strangers true intentions. However, Grant proved to be a good man. A man with a past, but a man seeking a better future, and a man capable of treating a woman the way she deserves. The farm hand Eric definitely got what he deserved thanks to grandpa. If only I could get my hands on some of tnat sweet tea........
What I loved the most about this book was the picturesque writing. I could vividly see the ranch, sunsets, horizon and everything else the author described. I could smell the smells and feel the peace the ranch provided. It was the perfect place for Grant to clear his head. The romance that developed felt so natural. (I hated that first night episode though, fictional or not). The love Sunny had for her grandfather was truly felt while the supernatural aspect spoke of his love for her. This was a great short, lazy and peaceful country read.
Ugh Eric was such a nuisance. He acted so much like a female. Grant must a been good bad boy cause he didn’t give off those vibes. I loved Sunny personality. She was a peaceful soul. Happy they both got their HEA with a little surprise. For this to be a short novella with 67 pages it took me entirely too long to finish. It wasn’t bad but just wasn’t for me. I actually love Kyeate books. This is just not one of faves by her.
I love when country meets hood and they embark on an unsuspecting journey of love. It always makes for one of the sweetest love stories, and although short and quick paced, those are still all the feels you encounter with Sunny & Grant. I never wanted this book to end.
Was not expecting the undercurrent of paranormal... thought this was gon' be a cute country romance. I found the writing to be slightly purple and overwritten but wasn't enough of a bother to stop reading. If I am reading and I think, 'nobody talks like that', it takes me out of the story. Was an OK read- a good romantic palate cleanser.

Short, paranormal ish and spicy I like it. Fiction is funny because stranger danger doesn’t exist.. Sunny saw Grant and that was it I’m not even mad at her. Eric was just evil and I’m glad he got what he deserved. The ending was the cherry on top well done Kyeate
I really enjoyed this short read. I read it in one setting. For as much happened, it was very detailed to be 65 pages. So glad that Grant saved her in more ways than one, it definitely was love at first sight. Thanks PopPop, IYKYK.
