Genre: Contemporary, Cowboy & Western Series: The Quick and the Hot
Physical therapy assistant Lilly’s job is to keep rodeo star Juss Rossie off his injured leg and from using his bad shoulder to rope more buckle bunnies. Trouble is she wants--just for once in her life--to be one of those rodeo gals who gets the cowboy. Pushing him to the limits of his therapy will take some creative maneuvering, and she finds he responds in the yummiest ways.
Juss hates like hell to be laid up with injuries and off the back of a bull. But being at the mercy of therapist Lilly is torture--especially when she gets in the pool, on the mat, or crawls into bed with him. Can he recover from her mind-blowing advances without losing his heart?
A subdued woman finally taking the reigns and pursuing the man she feels would normally be out f her reach; and a womanising Rodeo cowboy, about to learn that healing can go deeper than just your physical injuries.
Juss is a gorgeous, self-assured Bull Rider, recovering from a bad fall and reeking havoc over medical staff at the rehabilitation centre where he currently resides, but one timid Physical Therapist may have cure to his ornery disposition and the secret to capturing his wondering heart.
Lilly is a sweetheart who won my vote when she decided to rope her very own cowboy; even if it was just for a few stolen trysts. While she was usually the woman who stood back and watched when others went after what they wanted, her determination to live on the wild side, and make memories to scratch off her bucket list, endeared her to my heart.
A fabulous story that will warm you from head to toe, and all the way back up again!
Lilly is a woman who is just doing her job and trying not to focus on the hot man she is suppose to help. Juss is a demanding patient who is testing her patience. She can't deny the attraction but she knows she shouldn't get involved with a client. However when she finally desires to go for it, it was HOT.
Juss is a man who just wants to get back on the bull. He doesn't like to be laid up and at the mercy of others. He likes to tease Lilly and is surprised at her forwardness. However its not going to turn it down.
The pool scene was one of the hottest I have read in a long time.
I received an ARC of this title from the author in exchange for an honest review and here it is: 2 stars.
Lilly is a physical therapy assistant in a private rehab facility that caters to the wealthy as well as many injured professional bull riders. As this story opens, Lilly is annoyed by the incessant bell-ringing of the patient in room four, Juss Rossie, PBR star, hot hunk with more buckle bunnies than you can count, and an attitude of privilege and superiority. His last 7-second ride on a rank bull ended with him getting bucked off, tearing his knee, dislocating his shoulder and tearing several ligaments. Lilly, while annoyed at this high maintenance patient is also attracted to and having sex dreams about him. When she takes him to the spa pool for his scheduled physical therapy session, the next thing that happens is Lilly begins to act on her sex fantasies and since neither has a condom handy, they satisfy each other in other ways. Afterwards, she briefly questions her own actions, the risks she's taking, and her professional ethics, but during their next session in the gym, it's yet another sexual encounter, and from this point on, that's pretty much what his therapy with Lilly consists of. At no point does anyone ever walk in on these two, or even question the amount of time she spends with Juss, and that's my main problem with this book.
Yes, Em Petrova can write hot and sexy scenes with the best of them, but as these two characters have sex in every possible position, at no point is there any backstory on Lilly or Juss, and while an emotional connection between the two is briefly mentioned, we certainly don't get to see it. Apparently in this rehab facility, there is no one monitoring the amount of time they spend together. Lilly doesn't seem to have a superior, which struck this reader as pretty odd, since she's only an assistant physical therapist. What we do get to see is one sex scene after another. Yes, there is a small amount of drama as Juss completes his rehab, but since there wasn't enough of a backstory to get the reader to care what happens to either of these characters afterwards, the story falls flat.
I'm not at all opposed to erotica, and I read a lot of erotic romance, but when there's little more to a book than one sex scene after another with only the barest thread of a plot linking these scenes together, it becomes both boring and tiresome, and I know this author is more than capable of coming up with a more detailed, deep and evocative story line. Sadly, this book doesn't have any of those qualities, which is the reason for only giving it a 2-star rating.
Temporarily sidelined with an injury, rodeo hunk Juss Rossie is the patient-from-hell at the small rehab hospital where he’s recovering. Even though she’d like to put a muzzle on him, physical therapist, Lily Hall can’t stop the naughty thoughts she has about Juss. But she knows she doesn’t have chance with him because she’s never been that girl…the one hot guys chase after, or the one bold enough to go after what she wants.
Or is she?
Irked by Juss’ teasings one day, Lily goes all IN during a therapy session and seduces him! No complaints from Juss though, he definitely misjudged his therapist with the whiskey-colored hair. With him suddenly insisting for more “therapy”, Lily fears losing her job, while at the same time wondering if she’s just another ‘buckle bunny’ for Juss…or is she something more?
Of course, two people who are emotionally retarded always have far too many unspoken words between them. An argument and abrupt departure from the hospital by Juss looks like the end of the road for these two. But then, an invitation to a charity gala shows up for Lily and she decides to attend, because like Juss…she thinks seeing him one more time will get him out of her system.
Oh, are they ever in for a surprise! Great ‘reunion’! Juss’ inner thoughts keep him off balance. Lily should get an award for being ‘Negative Nelly’! When the cards are on the table and it’s time for some old fashioned honesty, Juss rises to the occasion and shines!

Juss, a PBR bull rider, is injured riding a bull he's ridden before. He can't believe he's injured, but can't wait to get back to his rodeo life. What he didn't expect, was to find Lilly. Lilly is one of the physical therapist "assigned" to help Juss recover. Lilly is the only one he wants though, so he's cranky and not exactly nice to the other therapists.
Lilly doesn't put up with any of his poor behavior, but she also has fantasies involving Juss that are not very professional! She loves her job and doesn't want to lose it to a fling with Juss....only she can't seem to keep her hands off him. A couple of days before leaving the clinic, Juss says some hurtful things to Lilly and she takes off.
Juss sends Lilly an invitation to a Ball in hopes that she'll forgive him and be together. Will they find their HEA???
This was a great, easy, sexy read! If you love Cowboys, this is definitely the novel for you! It is a stand alone novel.
Slick Rider - Lilly and Juss' story was a lot different from book one. Juss is a wounded rodeo cowboy spending time in a rehab facility. He is a die hard ladies man and makes no apologies for it. Lilly is his physical therapist and she wants him bad. So she decides to take what she wants. Ive never been a huge fan of aggressive women characters, I prefer them on the meeker/milder side. Juss started off pretty abrasive as the 'button pusher' of the facility who thought everyone should come running at his every whim and got worse as the story progressed. I really had trouble connecting with both of these characters. I liked the story a lot, I just had a hard time with the two personalities of both Lilly and Juss. After Juss was discharged from the facility, near the end of the book, it seemed to turn around but there wasnt much time left for the story line to redeem itself. I liked the first book better than I did this one.
Once again, Em Petrova doesn't disappoint with her sexy cowboys.
Juss & Lilly worry that each may not be enough for each other but are willing to see how far a little chemistry helps things along. I enjoyed the taboo-ness of their sexual interaction. It gave the novella a sense of fun and excitement. I liked the interaction Lilly and Juss had with his friends. However, I wish it was longer and more in-depth.
I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for my review, and look forward to more of her work in Book 3.
Another great read with Book 2 of this series. Juss is injured from being thrown from a bull. Lilly is his P.T. aide and he'll settle for no one but her to help him. Things heat up fast as they both think it's just a passing fancy. When it's time for him to leave the facility, things have heated up higher than they expected. He has to leave and she has to stay. Loved how this story got even hotter in the end. This book was given to me for an honest review.
Definitely a hot, sexy ride. If detailed sex scenes are not your cup of tea, take a pass on this book. The bull rider and the PT Asst. find out just how overwhelming their attraction is during his convalescent stay. Lily decides to take the bull by the horns so to speak, and indulge her fantasies with Juss.
This is a very quick read, but long enough for Lily and Juss to figure out they both want more that a casual fling. It would have been nice to see how their relationship progressed.
Another sexy short from Miss Petrova. What happens when a rehabiliation assistant meets a cowboy..... Out of this world chemistry thats what. Great characters and a well written story with added steam. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. I received this book for an honest review

A hot quick read with an injured bull rider Juss and physical therapy assistant Lilly with instant chemistry and sparks flying. Juss is one of those guys that made Lilly's job of keeping it professional hard. Why fight it when she wants to give in so bad? Taking her patient to a whole new level of "physical" therapy. Not an in depth storyline but you definitely feel the heat!! Received an ARC copy from author for a honest review.
Injured rodeo star Juss may be use to being the one in control, but Lilly is about to take him for the ride of his life. As his new physical therapist, Juss should be off limits to her, yet Lily knows she can't escape their attraction!
Juss and Lilly sizzle and burn fast but also have an emotional connection that can't be denied
Quick and hot! Definitely, but it also is a great story. Hot and sexy rodeo star and his physical therapist might be a little taboo, especially when it happens in the pool, on the mats, and in his bed, but I loved it. There are three books in this series, but each is completely different. I received this book from the author in return for an honest review, and I do recommend it.
Another steamy read from Em Petrova. This is the second in the series. Juss makes sure that Lilly is his personal physical therapist, and sparks fly between them. Wrong words spoken and both are left hurting. Juss realizes his mistake and tries to win her back in a big way. I recommend this quick read.

Fast paced read full of attraction that leads to love. Lilly and Juss have steamy chemistry but come from two different worlds. This was and enjoyable read. Don't miss out!
Another quick and steamy read in this series. Juss the cowboy comes off his bull and is sent to rehab where he meets Lilly the physical therapy assistant who tortures him in more ways than one. The chemistry between them has sparks flying. Can she remain professional? Or will they have their HEA?
Quick hot & steamy read. Juss & Lilly find each other when he goes into rehab after getting thrown from a bull. The chemistry between them is instant and hot! Glad they were able to figure out a way to be together after he gets out of rehab.
This book was sent to me by EM Petrova for an honest ARC. I enjoyed reading Juss and Lilly story. It was very entertaining and kept me entertained. I hope to see more of Juss and Lilly in future books.
"Slick Rider" (The Quick and the Hot Book 2) by Em Petrova is a hot read. I loved reading about Juss and Lilly. This story is smoking hot, filled with passion, hot cowboy, happy endings, and more. Highly recommend to all fans of romance.
These are meant to be short, hot reads and it delivers the heat. I liked how she stepped out of her comfort zone to take a chance on some fun with him. She doesn't want to have regrets. Neither of them expect to develop real feelings.
