FROM INTERNATIONAL BESTSELLING EROTIC ROMANCE AUTHOR SIERRA CARTWRIGHT
‘Even Racier Than Fifty Shades’ ~ Mail Online
‘Whenever I think that Sierra Cartwright has out done herself with a previous book, she proves me wrong time and time again. Thank you Ms. Cartwright for being talentedly blessed.’ ~ Blackraven's Reviews/p>
Book five in the Mastered series.
His heart wasn't in it... Dom Niles Malloy has locked his favourite flogger in a drawer and has all-but left the lifestyle, but then Brandy Hess shatters his solitude and shakes up his life, challenging him to fully live again.
What you see isn't what you get...
Though he was once a respected and well-known Dom, Niles Malloy rarely attends functions at the Den, and he has no interest in ever having another permanent relationship. He satisfies his occasional desire for kink by playing with subs who have no expectations.
Professional sub Brandy Hess has known Master Niles for years, and when he invites her to play with him, she accepts. But she's unprepared for the reaction she has to his intense brand of play. In their shared, emotionally intimate moments she sees the weariness in his features, and she has a dangerous and compelling urge to know him better.
Experience has taught her to never again settle for less than a man's complete commitment, yet when she runs into him outside their normal setting, neither can deny the potent and pulsing attraction. He's much, much deeper than she imagined, and she soon realises he's everything she wants and doesn't need in a man.
As she surrenders to him a second time, Brandy wonders if she's lost her sense of self-preservation. She's attracted to an enigma, a man with an edge, someone as remote as he is demanding, and her life will never be the same...
Sierra is a USA Today, International Best-Selling author who wrote her first book at age nine and hasn't stopped since. Sierra invites you to share the complex journey of love and desire, of surrender and commitment. Her own journey has taught her that trusting takes guts and courage, and her work is a celebration for everyone who is willing to take that risk.
When a submissive who is also wife and lover dies, how does a Dominant survive?
Master Niles is an experienced Dominant who is on auto pilot. He still scenes but it's all impersonal. He functions as a Top and doesn't need the D/s anymore. Brandy Hess is a submissive at the same club as Master Niles. They have crossed paths several times but never enjoyed a scene together. The timing is never right. This time, during a private party, a spark generates between the two.
The BDSM in this story is sweet and light. Ms. Cartwright is always a good read who creates BDSM scenes with steamy sensuality. The BDSM is realistic and gives interested kinky readers a good vicarious read. The plot of this story is sweet and simplistic. The world building is realistic with a contemporary vibe. The characters are really what make this story enjoyable.
Brandy is a woman with a soft heart. She adopts pets and humans who need help. Too bad the humans usually burn her. No good deed goes unpunished. The more endearing one is Niles who woos Brandy through her pets. It is sugary sweet and will make many a female sigh in desire.
The conflict in this story is a bit contrived but it's understandable. The issue I have with this story is how easily it is resolved. It felt too hurried. Still, it is a romance which means a happily ever after is required. It is a good, plausible ending.
This series is a great one to introduce erotic readers into the kinky side of life. Each one of these shows a human side to the lifestyle. It's not all pleasurable thorns with the roses; there are ups and downs. This book is perfect as a Gateway to BDSM selection.
I got used to a certain level of writing from Sierra Cartwright, I love everything I've read by her. Totally love the Mastered Series. But this book, I just wasn't really sure about. It felt like I was reading a story that was just written because it had to be, not because it needed to be.
Brandy has been in past books, but I'm not sure she deserved this book, or maybe she didn't deserve the way this book was written. The whole book felt like filler to me.
The ending felt so rushed, Master Niles and Brandy went from Point A to Point B to Point G without more in between. While they spent a couple of good weekends together, there was still much more they needed to learn about each other before the plunge the book took at the end. But I do understand that this is a book and timelines have to be a bit more rushed than normal. I guess I just felt there could have been more discussion, or more time in just a relationship before the whole marriage thing came up. The book would have been fine ending with them just deciding to work on having a relationship.
But all in all, I enjoyed the times that Brandy and Master Niles were together, their scenes were well written. And I enjoyed the antics of the animals, and the gift of the plastic dog toy, foot, that Master Niles gave to MW.. that part of the story was just priceless.
Master Niles seemed like a very sweet and compassionate Dominant. And Brandy surprised me at being such a feisty submissive, to the point of really pushing some boundaries. I did like the characters and their connection, and for the most part I did feel that connection between them.
I'd say this book was a 3.7 star rating for me, so I'm rounding it up to a 4. I'm looking very forward to the next book and Master Damien's story!
Sierra Cartwright is the master of BDSM erotic romance, and For The Sub is no exception!
I quickly fell for both Brandy and Niles, who are each still getting over the pain of the past in different ways. Brandy has put all her love into a menagerie of rescue animals (who have some great personalities themselves!), while also working as a house submissive at the Den. Niles, meanwhile, has reverted into himself, detaching himself from intimacy after losing a wife who was not at all who she seemed. The only time he touches a woman now is during recorded scenes at the Den with actresses for his production company, and even then he follows a specific script. No emotions. No true desire.
All that changes, though, when Brandy approaches him one evening and invites him to scene with her. For the first time he feels a stirring of interest, a desire to do things he hasn’t done since his wife passed. And no matter how much he thinks he should, he can’t deny the passion that bursts to life between them.
I really enjoyed how Brandy wasn’t afraid to put herself out there, to be the one to initiate their first meet and invite him to a get together at her house to try and bring Niles out of his shell. She was patient, gentle, kind and just an all-round sweetheart, even as she battled self-doubt from her past relationship.
Niles is, of course, utterly delicious too. All big, confident, possessive alpha who’s dominant side would have any woman shivering with delight. He treated Brandy like a queen, using his wealth and position to bring her joy in various ways. But underneath that gruff exterior lies a sensitive man, one who has suffered the worst betrayal, and I understood why both he and Brandy were reluctant to deepen their relationship, despite them slotting perfectly into each other’s lives and it feeling oh-so-right every time they were together. Thankfully they both figure out that the past shouldn’t hold control over their future, especially when it involves the kind of exquisite escapades these two get up to…*fans self* Never has a HEA been so hot!
If you love incredibly well-written erotica blended perfectly with sweet grumpy/sunshine romance, then For The Sub is definitely for you!.

My sleepiness caused the delay of finishing this book. Had to set this aside so I could catch some sleep after a four-day company beach trip, and while this is a good book, I find it lacking in groveling, in angst, and in drama (yes, sometimes I crave drama, bite me). I was expecting more angst and groveling from Niles. I wanted Brandy to feel so sad that Niles couldn't love her the way he loved his late wife, Eleanor. She just left him while he tried contacting her (is this his way of groveling). Their love confession was so sudden, and my god, Niles, after three years of solitude, decided to remarry? Is he really serious about his feelings for Brandy? Or maybe he can't let her go because he's the best sub alive?
PART OF THE Mastered Anniversary series each can be read as standalone yet connecting once you start you won’t put this one down until the last page has been turned. Brandy has been hurt to deal with pain she puts so much into her animals working with the rescue’s animals also, works down at the Dee as a house submissive and just trying to get as much happiness from her animals who each of her animals have their very own personality. Niles sexy as all get out Dom who is trying to get over the death of his wife turns out he didn’t know the women he married at all, he’s a grump on most days rarely smiles, and only participate in any kind of connection when he records scenes for his production and once done the walks away with no other communication, emotion, hasn’t felt desire in a long time. Brandy takes a chance asking Mr. Ice Cold to scene with her one evening that one act woke up everything that has been dead so to speak wakes up and although he tells himself it is just a scene but his body, mind tells him it is so much more so he does what he do best deny, temper down the passion but for Brandy she took a chance doing her best to draw him out of his small little world he has created for himself. She shows him something he didn’t see in his first wife gentleness, patient with his grumpiness all while self-doubting herself at every turn but is it enough, will she bring him out of his shell, will he realize he hasn’t been really living just existing, does he want more or to try again, and can they find something more than their troubled past?
'For the Sub' is the fifth book in Sierra Cartwright's "Mastered: 10th Anniversary" series and it will completely mesmerize, captivate, and carry you away. Master Nile hasn't played at the BDSM club, the Den, since his wife passed away. What he thought they had was shattered when she died and he had closed himself off for protection. But, as friends often do, he was cajoled into attending the Masters Night event. Brandy is a club submissive who works at the Den. She had remembered Nile from the previous year when he intervened between her and another Dom who didn't respect her boundaries. When she noticed him alone out on the patio she thanked him for his actions and let him know she was available for the evening. In her mind, that is how she could thank him. Only a few know that Brandy has gone through an emotional bombshell that almost destroyed her. Now she keeps the real her under wraps so no one at the Den can elicit feelings from her. These two damaged individuals have unintentionally crossed a line with the other and allowed all the chemistry, passion, emotions, and feelings to come to the surface but will it give each of them what they're looking for emotionally? It's truly a kindle melting experience with several pulls at my heartstrings that shouldn't be missed.
For the Sub is the fifth book in the Mastered series and I was happy to read. It’s been a while since I have read a BDSM romance, and I have missed reading this genre.
This is Dom, Niles Malloy and Professional sub–Brandy Hess’s story. Niles invited Brandy to play with him at the kink club. The sexual tension between them was “intense”. Niles said he would never again have a permanent relationship with a sub. And Brandy wants complete commitment from a mate.
After their first session together, they can’t put a name to it, but they are both attracted to each other.
A very enjoyable book to read. I had a hard time putting this book down while life interfered with my reading, and I had to adult.
I read the first two books in this series and somehow skipped books three and four to now read For the Sub. Each of these books can easily be read as a standalone. Now I want to go back and read the books that I have missed. There is also a sixth book in this series, and I will be checking it out too! This was a 5-star read for me. Needless to say, I loved reading this book!
For The Sub : The 10th Anniversary Edition by Sierra Cartwright. Every fall Master Damien hosts a get together at the Den for his members. Brandy is one of the house submissives at Den and had been for years. At the last Ladies Night, Niles Malloy had come to Brandy's rescue and helped her out of an unwanted situation with a first-time visitor. This night Niles is sitting alone. The death of his wife some years ago had hit him hard and he mostly kept to himself. He had stayed away from the Den until Master Damien had talked Niles into joining this evening. Niles had seen Brandy at the Den for years and tonight they feel an attraction. These two are damaged from prior involvements, so maybe they can help each other heal.

For The Sub is book 5 of the Mastered Series. It's a steamy, erotic, BDSM, second-chance romance. Master Niles is a Dom who is somewhat broken after losing his wife. He does scenes but has closed himself off emotionally and is rather detached. Brandy is a submissive with a heart of gold and a love of animals. She also has her own baggage. When she and Niles are attending an event at the sex club, the Den (where she also works), she approaches Niles, who is alone on the patio. She offers herself to him as a thank you when he intervened previously to protect her from a Dom who was not respecting her boundaries, and he surprised himself and agreed. This couple did have amazing chemistry, and I did like that they were able to find solace in each other and begin to heal. It was a bit of an emotional roller-coaster at times. In some ways, the ending to the HEA felt a bit rushed to me. That being said, Sierra always provides a great steamy read, and this was no exception.

5 Star Review of Mastered: For The Sub (Mastered #5) by Sierra Cartwright
Whenever I pick up a book by Sierra Cartwright, I know that I am in for an entertaining, often steamy, beautifully written story that will draw me in and keep me captivated from the start. Throw in the fact that it also contains BDSM, and I am all in.
Master Niles Malloy is bogged down in grief after the death of his wife, hardly attending events at the Den. He is also determined that he will never have another permanent Dom/sub relationship. Brandy Hess is a professional sub and has know Master Niles for many years, she is a woman who will not settle for less than what she deserves, and I admired that about her.
However, circumstances put Niles and Brandy together and they embark on a journey of self-discovery. The chemistry between them is impossible to ignore as the connection between them intensifies., not only physically but emotionally and it is this that took this book to another level.
What I liked about For the Sub is that the tension in this story is utterly driven by one character and how his choices affect others. Niles is a man haunted by his past, and his inability to share or address change affects how he interacts with Brandy, a house submissive at the club they attend. Brandy is a professional, so her knowledge of what’s expected in a dom/sub lifestyle is refreshing. She’s a woman who knows what she wants. But when the man in question can’t admit what it is that he wants, how do you move forward instead of treading water? For the Sub has amazing sensual scenes, but it’s the moments when Brandy and Niles move from sensuality to feeling that make their journey magical.
The other great part of For the Sub is that neither Niles’ nor Brandy’s reactions seem out of character. He lingers over an old relationship to avoid hurt; she resists a new relationship to avoid hurt. Seeing them learn to overcome what’s holding each back made For the Sub a magnetic read.
For the sub is the fifth in the mastered series from Sierra. While I enjoyed it, its not my favourite personally for the reason at times it felt a little off between Brandy and Niles. Like their connection was flat/forced. Niles is a widower, after loosing his wife he's cut himself off from everything. However he's persuaded into attending an event and that's where he's approached by long time sub Brandy to scene. What neither expects is for their relationship to move past the den, but their seeing one another outside. Both have been hurt in the past, carrying emotional scars and burdens. But they make an effort and fight for what they've got. A good read, 4/5 stars.

Sierra Cartwright can be counted on for a deliciously decadent BDSM experience every time! Brandy and Niles discover an emotional connection while he dominates her. She’s the perfect sub: graceful, intelligent, and caring, but also amazingly responsive. Their story is poignant and powerful with both characters having heartbreak in past relationships. Niles finds it very difficult to trust, to allow himself to move on, but Brandy breaks through his reserve with her honesty and sweet personality. I loved their chemistry as Dom/ sub- they fit each other perfectly. This series is an exquisitely compelling journey!.

Dom Niles was devastated by his dead wife's deceit and betrayal and swears to never, ever allow a woman into his heart again. Submissive Brandy is a club sub at the Den and has somewhat the same outlook as Niles towards relationships, but one evening Brandy decides to ask him to scene with her. And he agrees. But after that evening and a few more evenings and weekends together, things change between them, but their old baggage hangs on. Sierra Cartwright has written two flawed, but compelling characters, there is a ton of sizzle, steam, drama, twists, turns, and more. This was so, so satisfying and I can't wait for the redo of In The Den.

I will start with the fact that I did like it. I am a fan of the entire series (even if bits are super basic and cheesy) and am glad that they gave Brandy her own standalone. But why is personality so different in this book than the rest of the series. She is supposed to be the perfect sub but she is constantly speaking out of turn, topping from the bottom, and defying him through the whole book and he just lets her. Now I am aware this sounds super sexist if taken out of context. Just confused why this feels essentially like an entirely new character.
This was an okay read compared to the rest of the series, but probably not a book I would read again. I liked the characters of Brandy and Niles, but they didn't seem to fit together. Niles has been hurt before and avoids commitment because of it. Brandy is working at the club and approaches Niles to scene, neither believing it will go any further. Except it does. Brandy doesn't want to get hurt. Niles doesn't want to commit. Meanwhile, they are spending nights together and attending events as a couple. Nice read, but needed more of an emotional connection.
Welcome back to The Den, where Dominant Niles finds himself bewitched by beautiful Brandy, a part time club submissive and budding graphic designer. Niles is widowed, and whatever has happened has left him bitter and avoiding relationships. Brandy brings a fresh honesty to his life that has been missing. Their very steamy journey together shows how well-matched they are in so many ways. I loved the characters in this story—I wished for more depth from Niles in leaving his past & pushing for his future. In all though, I enjoyed the way they fell for each other.
Brandy the lovely submissive was trying to show her gratitude toward Master Niles for his protection during one of the parties at the club. So, Brandy ask him for a scene play and from there, their budding relationship started. Both has baggage they have to work out so they can move to the next step of being lovers...submissive and dominant... the options are open for both parties. Join the story to see how they worked out. Enjoy 🥰.

"All morning she’d pretended to herself that they wouldn’t say goodbye."
I have so much been looking forward to the update on this book as it was one of my favorites when the original series came out. Niles and Brandy's love story always touched my heart. This update gave me all the original feels plus more. Their story is beautiful and wonderful, everything a good romance should be. They are so perfect together. You truly want them to work out. No spoilers, please, read the book without knowing more than the blurb. You'll love it.
Brandi approaches Master Niles at The Den, expressing interest in a scene. Both know that they should keep things surface level, but the fall is fast and immediate. However, Brandi has reason to protect her heart, and Niles has swore to never fall in love again. The chemistry between these two is beyond combustible, especially in the bedroom but also as a pseudo-couple. And I loved the secondary characters in this story - Aunt Mame is a hoot, and Brandi’s menagerie are a delight. A great read with heat and heart.
I’ve spent the last 2 months reading pretty much all day nursing a broken wrist and this was a good book even though BDSM is not my thing. This is the fifth book in the Mastered Anniversary series although each book is a stand alone. The story stars Niles and Brandy. These books definitely are BDSM orientated. For me, I didn’t realize. I was so taken with the cover but I will say, it was a compelling read even though I am not big on those reads.

One of my favorites. Brandy one of the club subs at the Den is always picking up strays. Despite being warned by Gregario she falls for Master Nils. After inviting him to her place for a barbeque and spending an entire weekend with him she breaks it. She feels she's not in his league. But she can't forget him and loses her job at the Den because she is moping around without him. Master Nils is doing the same thing. But he has a solution.
For The Sub was a fantastic BDSM read by Sierra Cartwright. Master Niles suffered a horrible loss after the loss of wife and her secrets that came out. He hasn't participated in the lifestyle since and he has refused to take another submissive. But Brandy is nothing like his late wife Eleanor. Despite the warnings Brandy falls for Master Niles. He knows she belongs to him but is Niles finally ready to let the past go?
This series keeps getting better! I fell in love with Niles, the moody Master that hasn’t engaged life after the woeful way his wife passed. I absolutely love Brandy for her approach to break down Nile’s fortress around his heart. Their scenes are hot and heavy, but Nile’s aloofness is deserving of a “Gibb-slap” more than once. Will Brandy walking away, be the catalyst? You have to read to find out and will love every page!
Nile has not been to the Den since his wife's passing. His friends convince him to attend the Master's Night. Brandy is a submissive that remembers Nile when he intervened on her part. They spend time together and there is chemistry between them. Can they help the other heal from past hurts? This is a wonderful story with plenty of feelings.

This was Niles and Brandy’s story. Though he was once a respected and well-known Dom, Niles Malloy rarely attends functions at the Den, and has no interest in ever having another permanent relationship…until her. Professional sub Brandy Hess has known Master Niles for years, and when he invites her to play with him, she accepts. How will this end? An intriguing, fun read. And voluntarily leaving this review.
I loved re-reading this story with the added content. I couldn't put it down. I loved how Niles and Brandy. It was hours of enjoyment and heartbreak. It was a great read for a rainy day. They had known each other for years but it is only recently that they have decided to play together. They both had to heal from their pain of the past. Will they make something more lasting?

Brandy and Niles, sub and Dom, hook up (is that the right term?), passion and pain follow. Brandy is a wonderful lady, taking care of some crazy pets, strong, funny oh and not prepared to risk emotional pain. Niles is a hard, tough Dom though his inner dialogue indicates feelings and even jealousy when it comes to Brandy. Lots of passion, intense scenes, and towards the end lots of tears are shed. Overall, enjoyed their story.
