The one woman Winter Tulane loved and lost is back, and he is determined to have her again, gracing his bed, filling his days and owning his heart. A joint tour with both 13 Shades of Red and her band, Strange Angels, is not the most optimal way to get her back, what with the actual working and pitfalls of the road to contend with, but Winter is determined to show her that what they had was good… and could be again.
Lola Cavendish harbors a secret she is desperate to keep from the one man she still wants and needs in her life. True, the joint tour with his band was her idea, but having an issue such as she does is not conducive to rekindling an affair. Taking drastic measures to ensure a reunion is the only way she can be certain she achieves her end game.
But the lives they both lead could stop a reunion before it starts. When past mistakes surface, it will take more than forgiveness to bring them together.

I enjoyed this story. I liked how this is a longer book then the last ones in the series. I wanted to have a longer connection to the characters. I really loved having Winters POV and story. He is simply amazing!!!
If you love paranormal books then this series is for you!
ARC provided by author for exchanged for an honest review.
I have been waiting for this book for what feels like forever and SA Price did not disappoint. This is the 2nd book in the 13 Shades of Red series. The story has everything I love, bands with hot men and kick ass women, paranormal activity, and lots of erotic love. Winter Tulane is miserable, has been ever since breaking up with the love of his life, Lola. He has been drowning his sorrows with countless groupies, but it does nothing to fill the void. What makes matters worse is he now has to do a tour with the band she fronts, Strange Angels. Having to work with her all the time, he decides he won't be happy until he has her back. He's committed to do whatever he has to to make her his again. Lola hasn't faired much better. Winter has always been the one, even though she had trouble seeing it when they were younger. This tour is proving to be difficult. She wants him back but a huge secret is in the way, one that may prove to be especially dangerous for Winter. For both their sakes, she needs to keep him at arms length until she can resolve this issue. Easier said than done. Winter also has a secret. He knows he needs to tell her, but at the same time, afraid to for fear of losing her. With them reconnecting, this is a whirlwind tour of music and love. The first book in this series is Giving up the Ghost, which is also fabulous and I HIGHLY recommend!!!! I fall more in love with these characters the more I read about them. THIS BOOK IS AN ABSOLUTE MUST READ!!!! I am a groupie in all sense of the imagination. A groupie of the bands, a groupie of the series, and more importantly, a groupie of SA Price.
This is Forever I fell in love with Winter in the first book in the series, Giving Up the Ghost. I couldn’t wait to find out more about this wild, mysterious, sexy rock star in This is Forever. This story will take you on a wild tour bus ride of emotions. You will be taken on a journey of trust, forgiveness and unwavering love. Winter is with the band Thirteen Shades of Red and Lola, the love from his past, is with the band Strange Angels. Now the two former lovers will have to figure out how to work together since their careers are taking off and they can’t jeopardize either of their bands success. The problem is they can’t look at each other without wanting to tear each other’s clothes off. He knows she has always been the one for him. She is everything he has ever wanted or will ever need in a woman. Winter knows he must tell Lola about his secret or he could lose her forever. What Winter does not know is that Lola has a secret of her own to share with him. These two will never be complete without one another. Winter and Lola’s story is one you honestly can’t miss. I could not put this book down. I had to find out what secrets they had and if their love was strong enough to overcome these obstacles. I have no doubt you will fall in love with these two. I have to say I did not want the book to end. The Thirteen Shades of Red Novels are Outstanding!!!
Winter Tulane is the sinfully hot bassist for Thirteen Shades of Red, obsessed with women and raspberry tootsie pops. On the outside, he has a reputation of bagging several women at once (sometimes 10 or more, it’s ridiculous!), but on the inside he’s miserable and lonely, and he’s only trying to replace HER. Lola. The love of his life, once upon a time. And now, with Shades being on their first arena tour with none other than Strange Angels, Lola’s band, he’s determined to make his move. It doesn’t take Winter long to figure out that Lola has changed, but why? What happened to her?
We all fell in love with the spitfire that is Lola Cavendish in Giving Up the Ghost, and I love her even more now. The lead singer of Strange Angels never got over Winter, he was her first, and she wants him back, but at this point it’s not happening. See, she has a little “problem” that is causing her to hurt the people she cares about and seem pretty crazy and bipolar. With the help of Xxieda, she’s hoping to get this problem under control so she can get her life back.
We also meet Natasha, who is Lola, stripped of all of her stage makeup and outfits, and who Winter really fell in love with. When Winter keeps showing up and not taking no for an answer, Lola/Nat finally gives in…a little. She can’t deny her feelings, but she wants to start out as friends, something they never were before, but she’s also afraid of letting herself go with him until she knows how well Xxieda’s temporary solution to her problem will hold up.
It doesn’t take either of them long to realize that they can’t take it slow or be “just friends”, but they also learn that each of them are hiding secrets. Both are afraid of what will happen when they let their secrets be known, but in order to move forward, that’s exactly what has to happen. What will happen when the truth comes out? Will their relationship survive this time? It’ll take trust, commitment, and the help of all of their old friends, plus some new ones…
Now, are you ready for the kicker? Take all of that (what some may call typical rocker romance) storyline up there and throw in a paranormal twist – possession, ghosts, demons, witches, other worlds – and THAT is why I love this series so much! It is a unique twist on a common story, with some extremely HOT scenes and dirty talk thrown in, and I couldn’t put it down. I love the connections I was able to build with the characters and I can’t wait to read more. Rust and Nyx have me intrigued…
First I must state that this book is part of a series, I picked it up because I saw it on a Facebook post and thought it sounded good. However, I didn't check to see if other books came before it and that took a bit away from my understanding of this book. You will definitely want to read the first two books in this series first.
The Contemporary Rock Star storyline is 5 star. I loved the edginess and realness of it. If this book was only that storyline, it would have been awesome. A wonderful story of an on again, off again love affair that finally found it's second chance to be something more. I loved the characters and the world created by the author.
The PNR storyline left something to be desired. It's possible that I may have gotten into this part of the story more if I had read the first books in the series, but I'm not sure. A lot was hinted at in the first half of the book, but you really didn't get hit with the PNR until the last 50%. I felt sort of blindsided by it at first, because I was lost in regards to the PNR through the beginning of the book. However, the PNR storyline in the last half was top rate. I loved the last half of this book.
However, my biggest issue with this book is the errors. I have 15+ years experience as a technical writer and errors really throw me. They kill the story for me at times. A few errors are unavoidable, no one is perfect, but this goes beyond that. Missing letters in words, missing words in sentences, incorrect word usage, incorrect tense. Several times I had to stop and re-read the sentence multiple times to understand what is trying to be said. As someone with a side-business as an editor/proofreader, this is a real struggle for me when reading a lot of self-pub or indie books. I understand that the hiring of someone can be cost preventative, but this book could have been SO much better with just a bit of input and a few corrections by a good editor.
So, did I enjoy the story, YES! Would I recommend it for the story, yes. I know I am interested in going back and reading the first few books in the series. I enjoyed the story enough to want to, even though I'm sure to struggle with similar errors.
To say that I had been waiting for this book is a complete understatement. I think that I had messaged the author quite a few times wanting to find out when the book was going to be released. Well I do have to say that the wait? COMPLETELY WORTH IT!!! If you follow me, then you know that I am a complete paranormal junkie, I love them all! When it comes to some of my favorite books? I do have to say that S.A. Price’s 13 Shades of Red series is one of my all-time favorites because even though the books are paranormal, they aren’t all about that. Read the books and you will know what I mean! ;) In this book we finally get to Winter’s story, and if you have read the previous books, you NEED to read this one. If you haven’t read the other books, what are you waiting for? I completely enjoyed Winter’s character because he is portrayed as, what I would consider, a normal rock star. He goes after women, uses them for what he wants and tosses them aside. But you can tell there is something special about him, not just his power, and it makes you cheer for him to find his happiness. Lola’s character is just as amazing because she knows the score with Winter. She still accepts him given his past and I thought that was really great on his part. You could tell the chemistry that was happening between the two of them, and I loved how they still resisted it. While I did like Lola’s character, there were some points of the book that I wanted to smack her; especially when it came to the secret that she was hiding. The story line itself was something that is completely different from the rock and roll books that are out now. So don’t read this book if you are expecting an instant undying love between the two characters. They have REAL issues that they deal with, and on top of that they each have their special “gifts” that they bring to the story as well. Overall, I would completely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a REAL read, and is looking for a book they can’t put down!
I was given this book as an ARC by the author. All I can say is THANK YOU! It seems like I waited "FOREVER" to get this next journey in the 13 Shades of Red series.
SA Price seems to just pull me in every time. I seem to hate characters in one book and then fall in love with and understand them more in the next. If you haven't read the first in this series Giving Up the Ghost you are missing out and you need it to keep going further in this story with This is Forever.
Winter is a man that never seems to be happy and as you learn more about him in this book you just want to do everything in your power to make it all go away. Then there is his love interest Lola. Lola was someone that I fell in love with from the beginning. In book one you couldn't help but love this girl. She had her issues like everyone but she was one tough woman and didn't deal with anyone crap. The relationship between them is trying to grow but with secrets in their lives it is holding them back.
I loved the way SA Price develops her characters. You get to know everything about them and it makes you feel like you are a part of this amazing journey that they are going on.
I can't recommend this book enough. It is an amazing story full of love, demons and so much more. So do yourself a favor and go get yours now. You won't regret it!!
4 star review of This Is Forever (13 Shades of Red #2) by S.A. Price Although not a genre that I read often, I have to say that I enjoyed this book. Winter Tulane is a troubled man who wants desperately to win back the one woman he loves who got away, Lola Cavendish. When their respective bands begin a joint tour he schemes to get her back into his life. However he hasn’t counted on Lola’s determination to keep him at arm’s length and although she wants him desperately, she cannot allow herself to give in to her feelings. Winter has buried himself in a lifestyle of destruction, with lots of booze and meaningless sex with the band’s groupies. But he knows what he wants and is determined to win Lola back. But will they be able to get past their history and move forward together? Winter senses the changes in Loa, but he has no idea what has caused them. Will the secrets that they both are keeping destroy their chance at happiness? I enjoyed the interaction of Winter and Lola’s characters. The chemistry between these two was amazing, hot and erotic and the paranormal twist that was woven throughout the story kept me reading to see what was going to happen next. I also liked touching base and catching up with the other members of the band. I look forward to reading more from S.A. Price and to be honest I am rather anxious to see what happens to the other members of the band.
I have been waiting for the second book in the shades series for it seems like forever. Ok not forever but for awhile . Let's just say Winter and Lola's story lives up to what you expect Stella to write . Winter has been in love with Lola forever . He has been pining for her since that fateful night . As they work together on a tour . With both their bands the feeling come back as they reconnect and find that love . But they both have secrets that need to come to light before they can be together . I bought this book as soon as it went live and sat down and read it in 4 hrs , that's now engrossed I was . From the very first word to the very last . Stella takes through the trials and tribulations of being a rock star and the women who love them. The ups and downs and groupies are all there. The story of love and forgiveness is well written . Stella leaves you wanting more . I wish I could give this book more then five stars. So if you want to have a Long Hard Winter . Read this book, you won't be disappointed at all . So check out the whole shades series . Keep them coming Stella
LOVE LOVE LOVE this book. I got this book as an ARC from the author. So in the first book of 13 Shades of Red I did not like Winter at all, however, I loved Lola the minute I met her. So I went into this wondering if I was going to like it and boy did I ever. S.A. Price has written a true love story. I may not have liked Winter when I first met him but I love him now. His love for Lola and her love for him is just such an amazing all consuming love (but in a good way not that creepy stalker way) that you cant help but love the book. Add in some sexy demons, fantastic dirty talk, steamy scenes guaranteed to make you warm under the collar, and an evil entity determined to wreck havoc and you have this wonderful book. I could keep gushing but I won't, pick up a copy when you can and see for yourself. I promise you that you won't regret it!
Wow! I loved giving up the ghost but this blows it out the water! I've never been one for paranormal books but read giving up the ghost after seeing a teaser for this is forever. If you thought Rhys was hot think again, Winter is scorching and Lola/Nat is one kick ass leading lady. I loved this story and again loved how the paranormal stuff enhanced it rather than distracting from it. This is a story of undying and pure love wrapped up in all the hotness that is 13 shades of red and everything that goes with them. For me it's a must read and I'll be waiting patiently for the next book 'make damn sure'. Of course this is only my opinion but I highly recommend you read it to make your own.
This Is Forever by S. A. Price is the second book in the 13 Shades of Red series. I loved the insider's view of the lifestyle of rock stars on the road - wild, groupies and hot sex.
I was great to finally get more in depth with Winter Tulane, the hot sexy bassist with 13 Shades of Red, and Lola Cavendish, the lead for Strange Angels. Is Winter and Lola's love strong enough to withstand secrets and obstacles? Read the book to find out.
I could not put this faced-paced paranormal romance down. I can't wait to read the next book in 13 Shades of Red.
I received an Advanced Reader copy from the author, in exchange for an honest review!
The story of Winter and Lola was absolutely amazing! The band members of 13 Shades of Red and Strange Angels are becoming some of my favorite characters!
After the glimpse of both characters in previous books I was really looking forward to this book and I was definitely not disappointed. Winter and Lola are both stubborn and trying to keep from getting hurt again. Learning to love and trust again is extremely complicated throw in feathers, collectors, and demons and your in for one wild ride!
It just gets better and better. I fell completely in love with Winter and Lola. Their story was full of heartache but also redemption. I cannot wait for Nyx's story next. This series is just sex on a stick hot!!
This series is one of my all time favorites . Stella's writing style is wonderful. She really knows how to keep you engrossed in it . Winter and Lola's story was a great read . I can't wait for the next one .
What a great series. This series follows the members of a band, 13 Shades of Red as we get to know each character while they are on tour. This is Forever features Winter and Lola/Natasha. Lola is actually a part of Strange Angels, another band in Price’s world. Winter’s paranormal orientation is mentioned a few times in Giving up The Ghost, and we learn a little more about him throughout this book as well as why Lola is going through the troubles she is experiencing.
This book has more paranormal elements than Giving up the Ghost, which I like. I’ve noticed that with each book in the series, the amount of paranormal elements increases. Since I prefer Paranormal to Romance, this is definitely a good thing for me.
This is Forever is really a sweet book. Winter’s dedication to winning back Lola’s affection makes me wish someone felt that strongly about me. He makes a few mistakes along the way, but he really does have a genuine heart. The sex in this book is mostly romantic. It’s very steamy and sexy but without being vulgar or harsh. It’s definitely sex about love and not just sex for the sake of having sex. Most of it anyway.
We are introduced to 2 new characters in This is Forever. They are my favorite characters thus far. Stoli and Gatsby are 2 “collectors”. They are friends with Winter. They seem like really cool chicks and have great personalities. They sound pretty hot too. I would definitely like to see more of them in the future.
My only complaint about This is Forever is that I don’t feel like we are given enough detail as to how Winter or Lola got into their current situations. We are told what happens, but I would like to have seen the actual scenes that occurred.
As with most books, the main characters could save themselves both a lot of heartache if they would just communicate. They are both so worried about the other finding out what’s going on, they don’t realize how much easier things would be if they were just up front with one another. But, as usual, we probably wouldn’t have as much of a story if they did that in the beginning, so I can’t complain too much about it!
I absolutely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys paranormal with romance that isn’t all about big ass Alpha males dominating their woman. The guys in this series are real. They are normal sized guys that wouldn’t squish you when you lay down with them in the biblical sense. I will continue to read this series, and probably every book by these authors.
I started with this book. I was on my way to Atlanta and realized that this was the perfect time to try audible. I had this book for a while and was dying to get to it. I don't recommend driving with listening to this. I drove off the highway several time when I got to vested in what was going on!!! You can read this series out of order but you miss out on a lot. I love how all the stories fit together! It is what makes it my favorite series (and bands) by her! I will preface this for people that have never used audible: When you go to read the book...it will be that guys/girls voice in your head instead of your own!
This is a story about second chances. Reconnecting with the one youve always loved and realizing you don't want to live without each other. What began as a whirlwind romance when they were younger, turned into something much more fulfilling now that they were older.
I loved so many things about this book. The names..the band's themselves...Stoli and Gatsby...the sex scenes and the scenarios themselves ( especially the bathroom sink scene). The paranormal aspects of the story make the story. It's an amazing steamy read that you can really feel and I loved it! The series is completely amazing!!
They met in school and their attraction was instant but life just keeps getting in the way for Winter Tulane and Natasha Cavendish.
Winter is the bass guitarist for 13 Shades and Natasha is better known as Lola the lead singer of Strange Angels. The last time they were together it didn't end well for either of them and has since changed the course of both their lives.
About to reunite on tour Winter is determined to make Natasha his once and for all, no more letting their stupidity get in the way. Will Natasha feel the same as Winter and when the two finally come together will they be willing to sacrifice everything to be together or will the demons they now hide get in the way and cost them their forever.
Great story, Winter and Natasha's story is a fabulous addition to the 13 Shades series.
Winter Tulane has come to terms with the fact that he made a horrible mistake when he accused Lola of sleeping with Rhys. Now that the two bands are on tour together, he is determined to get her back, but can she handle the changes he has endured since their separation? Lola has dealt with some supernatural changes as well, and she cannot bring herself to endanger Winter and the band. Having X ward her seems to be the best solution to the problem. Now that they are back together, can Winter and Lola truly connect again?
Audio Review: The song. There is a song that was written for the book and Joshua Macrae actually put it to music. This is one of the most dedicated and talented voice actors to grace audio readers ears. Let him entertain you.
If you're looking for a book with heart and soul, this is the story for you!
** I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review **
I LOVED THIS BOOK!!! This is the best of the series so far in my opinion...although they are all good...and I recommend starting with book 1...Winter and Lola are meant to be!
Winter has wanted Lola back for a long time..they were high school sweethearts... but the life of a rocker is not easy, and things dont always go as they should...Well both Winter and Natasha have supernatural secrets and getting back together without sharing these secrets is not going to go as planned...When Natasha learns that Winter is a demon and why she runs away, but this put her at risk and the entity that is in her will not stay a bay...She almost dies trying to become whole, but it all turns out ok, Winter and Natasha are now one..
GREAT LISTEN!! I TOTALLY RECOMMEND! WELL WORTH YOUR TIME AND A CREDIT!!!
I love this series and Winter and Lola's story didn't disappoint. You can just tell how much love they have for each other but there are otherworldly beings that make them take it slow. Lola has to worry about Shesha taking over her body and Winter has to figure out how to tell Lola he traded himself to a demon. They are touring together and having lots of fun relearning each other's bodies and how much they've always loved each other. These two are amazing together. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a steamy romance.
Another great installment in the 13 Shades series! S.A. Price knows how to ROCK paranormal! The guys in the band each have a secret within the paranormal world, but it isn't the usual in your face aspect of the story. I love how the author adds the paranormal aspect without it being such a focus of the story. Letting the plot/lives of the characters speak to the reader as they wish to. Absolutely love this series.
I have never been a fan of the rock star series that are out there, but this one grabbed me and did not let go! A must for the rock and roll reader!
Rock and roll with a dash of paranormal. This is Winter and Nat’s second chance romance. When we met Winter in the first book he is something of a man whore. In this book we find out why and meet the woman who can make him a one woman man. Nat has secrets but it is no secret that she has never stopped loving Winter. This is the chance Winter has been praying for. This is a smoking hot tale of a reunion of rock and roll proportions.
If you thought Giving Up The Ghost was hot..... then This Is Forever is going to scorch your brain. The authors give you TWO bands to deal with, learn the characters, melt with them, and gasp out loud.
Winter & Lola scorch their fans and when they are together they melt whatever is in their way. Can they get past the secrets that they both hold to make their love work again? Or will they not be able to hold on again?
Love the series and the paranormal aspect of it. Demons, witches and people talking to the dead!! The 13 Shades of Red series is my one of my favorites by SA Price.
