She wanted him...

Nora Sutherlin is in hiding. On paper, she's following her master's orders - and her flesh is willing.

More deeply, more strongly than she'd wanted anyone

But her mind is wandering to a man from her past, whose hold on her heart is less bruising, but whose absence is no less painful. Instead of letting him make love to her, she'd let him go.

This is the story of a summer that proves that love hurts

::: FULL REVIEW NOW POSTED :::

OMG. OMG!!! So, I read this book right after The Siren and and holyyy hell, it was fucking BRILLIANT!!! Gah. Wow. Ok, I did love the first book but now I seriously GET why so many of you absolutely L.O.V.E. this series. I get it. The feels. THE FEELS!!! Holy intensity!!!! I have tears in my eyes, my heart is racing and full to bursting. Ahhhh!! Yes, a few scenes definitely had me going WhatTheFuckDidIJustRead?! but that's all part of the thrill. This may not be a romance series, but my gosh is there ever LOVE on such a strong level. And LAYERS. Layers upon layers to this intricate story. I'm in pure awe. This is 5 STARS!!!

Note: this is not a standalone, you must read The Siren (review: http://bit.ly/1I3176u) first. I'm going to keep this review pretty much spoiler-free so anyone can read it but naturally it'll make more sense after reading The Siren.

The first page of this book alone hooked me right into the story! Ha!! This book is just so bold and I love it!! I have so many quotes highlighted (they're all at the bottom of the review though).

I'd spent most of the first book eyeing Søren warily, but I did really start to warm up to him in the beginning of this book especially. Sadist or no, there was no doubt that he genuinely loved Nora. But juuuuuuust when I started to think that maybe I could join #TeamSøren, he did something to her that, in his defence, she totally was okay with, but made my insides shrivel up into a little ball while my poor mind was just like WTFJustHappened?! Did I really read that?!  So... that put me back on the fence with him. Ish. The thing is that I do really like him. He's an infinitely complex character that I truly believe is one of the good guys... but, I'm still rooting for Wesley (and I have from the start). Gah, I'm so rooting for Wesley even though a part of me fears it could never work out between him and Nora. Still, I harbor a secret hope!

There's a very fine line in my opinion between being a monster and being a sadist. Søren is a sadist -- he becomes sexually aroused by causing pain to others. Soren doesn't ever take what isn't willingly given to him, and he's extraordinarily careful to stay within the boundaries of his submissive's wishes. That is what separates him... but that damn line is just so fine that the whole thing relies purely on trust and even though I like him, it does make me a uncomfortable that he has to cause pain to get aroused.

The story in this book begins with Søren's position at the church coming under scrutiny as he's considered for a promotion and so, to avoid any questioning, he sends Nora away to the countryside to spend time at Griffin's mansion. And he also sends Michael with her (a young, troubled sub who we met in The Siren and who was such an amazing character!) to train him over the summer months.

I find the whole lack of jealousy between Søren and Nora fascinating. He'll literally tell her to go  sleep with someone else, but it won't bother him at all because he knows full well that she belongs to him and his heart belongs to her. It's this incredibly strong commitment mixed with equally strong detachment.

Haha I definitely went through a lot of ups and downs and conflicting emotions and questioning the characters and myself and how I felt about various things but ultimately I just LOVED the story!

Griffin was totally awesome! I liked him from the first book even though we'd just seen him briefly but he really shone here! I totally fell for his playful, informal nature. He was the charming, kinky bad boy of the Underground and the whole storyline with Michael totally made me swoooooon!! What intensity and beauty there was there!! And that scene at the end where Griffin had that big confrontation and all those things to you know who.... OMG!! Bad ass!!! I highlighted endlessly! It was GOLD.

This book had a ton of reveals about Nora and Søren's pasts. Holy crap is Søren history ever messed up. Like... shockingly, disturbingly, heart-breakingly so.  But learning it has made me understand him more. Oh and we got to see more of Kingsley (YAY!) and the little bits that we've seen have me desperate to know more about him. Like, the wrist thing? Ahhh, I can't wait for more of his character!

And you know I've been rooting for  Wes from the start but after that scene at 75%, I just.... OMG. Oh. Em. Gee. Gah. I know, I know, I know that Søren loves Nora too but the way Wesley loves her just tugs each and every one of my heart strings!!!!! I'm sorry #TeamSoren, I get that you all love him (and I like him too, I really do) but I'm #TeamWesley all the way!!! Especially after that scene. THAT SCENE!!!!! I mean really.... First -- PURE FUCKING AMAZING WRITING!!! Second -- holy intensity!!! Third -- I seriously can't handle those feels. I can't. Dammit. SO MANY FEELS!!!!! And just... I LOVE WESLEY!!!!!! *sob*

And I just want to point out that Wes is the only guy that Nora has actually shown real jealousy for. No one else in their world (including her) seems to even have the jealousy gene (heh) but even the mere suggestion of Wes being with someone else  made her heart hurt. There's something there, people!!

That being said, I'm kind of rooting for everyone honestly. I don't think there's a single character I've met yet that I didn't like so ... I'm rooting for everyone to find their happy ending :)

I want to note that I'm generally very wary of religion in books because so often it feels a little "preachy", but I really want to applaud this author for the way she has incorporated this huge religious aspect into this series in a way that only ever seems like she's showing us what the characters' beliefs are and that's it. I think she's handled it very tastefully and it's something I've been really impressed with overall.

This is such a richly layered story. Yes, it's extremely erotic but the beauty of it is that each sex scene only serves to support the story or drive it forward. And not only are these extremely graphic and sensual scenes extremely well written, but they always serve a purpose. In my opinion, this is erotica done right.

And I stand by what I said earlier that this is not a romance series but oh my holy heavens is there ever some of the deepest, strongest, most intense LOVE I've ever read. It's just gorgeous!

In so many ways this series is literally the opposite of what I'd usually read or even recommend on my blog but this seems to be the exception to every one of my rules because I am absolutely LOVING this story. If you have any worries holding you back from starting it, I'd honestly suggest not overthinking it. Just dive right in and let the story show you what it is. It might not be for you, but if you remain very open minded and accepting, you might fall in love with it too! I'd say it's definitely worth a shot!

I, for one, am beyond addicted to this series and will be starting the next book right away!

Rating: 5 STARS!! Contemporary erotica.

Omg. I cannot express how much I love this series. One of my all time forever favorites. And let me tell you, I'm not much of an erotica/spice/smut reader these days. But, oh the story - the story is so so so good. So needless to say, anytime Reisz is writing it, I'll be reading it -

╰⪼ It is so rare these days to find a book that not only entertains you and keeps you glued to the pages until the wee hours of the morning, but also makes you re-juggle every single preconception you might have about certain topics and opens your mind just a tiny bit more. I felt like a kid in a candy store while reading this book-again.

Reisz does such a freaking fantastic job of broadening the world and adding new characters - seriously, she just does it so effortlessly. One min you don't know who this new character is and the next it's hard to imagine that he wasn't always there. She, oh so organically folds them into the story and keeps you wanting more.

In the second installment in The Original Sinners- The Angel, we follow Michael, about a year after where The Siren leaves off along with everyone else of course. He's a gay teenager whose homophobic father brutally rejected him. Michael tried to commit suicide and was only saved because he was discovered in time. He is a talented artist, but he doesn’t have the breezy self-confidence of the others.

˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ This is such a richly layered story. Yes, it’s extremely erotic but the beauty of it is that each sex scene only serves to support the story or drive it forward. And not only are these extremely graphic and sensual scenes extremely well written, but they always serve a purpose. In my opinion, this is erotica done right.

This is not a romance series but oh my god is there ever some of the deepest, strongest, most intense LOVE I’ve ever read. Freaking beautiful!

FULL REVIEW NOW POSTED.

My review contains spoilers for The Siren so, if you haven’t read that, I suggest you read no further.

So, a highly anticipated sequel to The Siren and I’m happy to say that it doesn’t disappoint and really does even surpass its predecessor. All our favourite characters are back, embracing their kink, living unashamedly in their sexy underworld. I think this is more playful than The Siren, not as angsty, the characters are all, mostly, having fun. It’s a blast and it just blew me away.

We join Nora and Søren almost a year after the events of The Siren – she has returned to her sadist master. He owns her; body and soul, and they are deeply in love, deeply into S&M and blissfully happy. Her only sadness is the loss of Wesley.

Søren is being considered for a promotion to bishop, a position he doesn’t want because he knows it will probably end his relationship with Nora, and a reporter is sniffing around him looking for scandal so he decides to send Nora away for the summer and tells her to take Michael, the eponymous Angel, upstate to stay with Griffin Fiske.

Griffin – super rich trustfund baby, switch and playboy extraordinaire, ex-drug addict, rambunctious puppy of the kink scene and lovable rogue. He has a butler he calls Alfred who quite clearly hates his guts and has the best lines in the book and is looking forward to a summer of Nora submitting to him. Søren will happily share her but no one is allowed to beat her or hurt her in any way – that sadistic pleasure is reserved just for him.

Michael is sent to stay with them and Søren instructs Nora to train him as a submissive. Michae just about broke my heart. Only 17, he has already survived one suicide attempt when his parents realised what his sexual tendencies are – he’s deeply submissive and Søren, having saved his life, is determined that Michael will embrace his kink and can think of no one better than Nora, a world famous dominatrix, to train him. He thinks himself in love with Nora after the events of The Siren – he’s such an innocent, so ready to be taken advantage of. He will need someone as powerful as Nora to take control and care of him and guide him to more self-awareness and acceptance. This is truly a coming of age story for Michael and I very much enjoyed his journey and his growth.

So what follows for Nora is a summer of darkly delicious and deviant sex Chez Griff while Søren deals with his situation back at the church.

Søren was such a revelation for me in this book. After The Siren, I was fairly wary of him but after reading The Angel, I just adore him. He is a sadist of the highest order, only causing someone physical pain can arouse him and he and Nora indulge in some extreme edgeplay before she goes away that is most definitely not for the faint-hearted. We learn a whole lot more about his past, his family, his motivations – I defy you not to love him and his actions by the end of the book. He’s enigmatic, Machiavellian, a bone deep sadist and also pretty damn good at the day job, as it turns out. He’s a paradox – a sadist who can only achieve sexual arousal by inflicting pain and yet a pacifist, deeply concerned with the welfare of those closest to his heart and his flock.

Another of my favourites is back too – that wicked Frenchman Kingsley “have you ever had sex in the back of a Rolls Royce” Edge, flashing those gorgeous dark eyes, using his considerable wealth and influence and reducing women to submissive puddles when the words ‘Ma Cherie’ roll off his tongue. He has an important role to play here too. God, I am so in lust with him!

Wesley makes only small appearances but it turns out that he’s been rather economical with the truth in the past and we learn more about him and he will obviously have a much bigger role to play in The Prince. He’s still in love with Nora, no one else will do even though he does try, and Nora still loves him. He is her one regret and she misses him deeply.

This may not be classic romance but true and honest love is definitely to be found here in more places than one. These people are overtly sexual, unashamedly embracing their darker sides and Nora is, once again, a formidable, dangerous, beautiful central character. There are not many heroines written as strongly as her in erotic fiction. Once again, I found myself lost in Tiffany Reisz’s beautiful prose – she has a style that seems to transport you from reality, straight into her world and I just lost myself.

So, this is just a few more chapters in the lives of our kinksters – we learn a lot more about the central characters and are able to answer questions left unanswered by The Siren and truly get to understand their motivations better. We know them all so much better by the end and the ending is a shocker – how could you do it to us Queen Tiff?? It left me salivating for The Prince which I suspect will show a return to the darker side.

Another 5 star piece of erotica

This is how I see Nora

★★★★★ 5++++ MANY WATERS STARS!! ★★★★★

"This is going to be a long summer, isn't it?"
"Eight and a half inches long if you'll recall."

I usually don't do casting in my graphics but when it comes to the Original Sinners, one does not simply skip out on them. SO VOILA ABOVE MY CASTING ♥ Also, thanks Allison for the constant spamming of hot delish men pictures that allowed my imagination to explode in ecstasy as I read!

Now let's take a moment and appreciate how f*cking awesome Griffin is. Seriously, Tiffany Reisz continues to add more and more men to my list of people who I'd gladly have my way with six ways to Sunday. The moment his glorious entry was all "wearing nothing but a kilt and Doc Marten boots", I knew I'd be a complete goner with this man. And good lord, his humor is to dieeeee forrrrr!!

“Can I call you Mick? Michael's too formal. I'm not formal. You're lucky I've even got pants on today.”

"Is your butler's name really Alfred?"
"No, it's Jamison, I think. Can't remember. I changed it to Alfred years ago. My first crush on a dude was batman."

And holy baby jeebus that is Søren. My love for that Godlike man cannot get any deeper than I last met him. Is he a sadist that scares me? Yes. Does that completely turn me on? YES. Everytime Søren utters anything, I give my 300% attention to that man, his character truly does make heads turn and leaves you holding your breath. He exudes a persona that intimidates you but yet leaves you utterly captivated by him. And you can just feel the depth of his love for Nora everytime he speaks about her, DAMN YOU NORA YOU LUCKY BEECH.

“My confession begins,” Father S said, “as the confessions of many men begin– with three words.
“Father, forgive me?” Michael hazarded a guess.
“I met Eleanor.”

Again, I don't intend to reveal any spoilery plots on this book and series in my review but I can definitely say that each book seriously gets better than the last. A COMPLETE PAGE-TURNER. TR's writing screams perfection on every level!! Even with multiple perspectives going on in this book, what a seamless flow from one to another. Plus the chain effect of multiple events and how it all connects, it leaves me mindblown. I AM IN COMPLETE AWE WITH THIS LADY'S WRITING SKILLS.

What's even more perfect is we all get some backstory on most of them; Søren, Kingsley, Nora, Wes. Everyone gets an equal shine of the spotlight without focusing heavily on only one, it was brilliantly balanced out throughout the book. I love how we got to see things progressed for Michael and oh my, those MM/MMF scenes ;D I'd gladly have an encore of these anytime! MORE PLEASE.

“Let’s get on with it. Pick a position. Trust me, no matter how acrobatic, we can do it.”
“No wall sex though, please,” Griffin requested … “Nora’s a lot heavier than she looks.”

Seriously ladies, GRIFFIN IS ALL KINDS OF AWESOME.

But most of all...that ending there. OH MY GOD. THAT. ENDING. Off to the next one NOW!!!

Adult review for erotic content.

I think I'd rather be doing laundry than writing this review right now. I wish I were kidding. It's hard to write reviews for books when you want to emphasize what you did like while not completely avoiding what you didn't like.
"You told me about him. Good men don't hit women."
"Good men only hit the women who want to be hit."

Can we somehow put this on an advertisement poster for BDSM? Maybe if we did, the subject wouldn't freak people out so much.

So...book 2 was a little less depressing and a little more kinky. I probably prefer it that way if you want to know the truth. Kink I can handle. Somber moments in the middle of my erotica, not so much. Just the sight of a Megan Hart book can give me hives because I know I'm going to spend less time turned on and more time bummed out. Thankfully, I wasn't on the depression train for this book. Just a warning though if you haven't read my review for book 1 - if there is any possibility that you might be bothered by religion and sex crossing paths (not in a blatantly offensive way but more in the aspect of two worlds colliding), you might be better off steering clear.

*takes a second to stretch*

Uh...yeah. Still not sure I want to write this review. I already know that everyone's going to be all, "ahhhmaaazing" and 5 star The Angel because the book is an interesting and complex read. The writing is still exceptionally polished and the characters are all multi-faceted. I can find absolutely no fault in this area.

I'm sure my friends are going to give me the glare-down because I didn't rate the book 5 stars.

However, I have a horrible confession to make....

Yep. I said it. Which kind of sucks hard, considering that she is kind of a big character. If you want to know why I'll just leave it at "too personal." Sometimes, being able to relate to a character is not a good thing.

But I still love Wesley. And now I love Michael and Griffin (you will have to pry the image of Griffin in a kilt and docs out of my brain with a crowbar because that pretty picture ain't going anywhere). And I don't completely hate Soren (he appeared in a dream riding a unicorn - another great mental pic there). So it's all good.

The kink itself didn't push any boundaries of mine but I could see where there might be some comfort zone issues for someone who is new to the genre. If anything, I found myself assessing the characters and their interactions with each other more than I did their sexual preferences. When erotica is given more plot than play, I'm more likely to treat it like I would any other mainstream book, which means less allowances for fantasy sake. If characters act in such a way that I'd not like them in a real world setting, I'm more likely to take notice.

Overall feelings?
I like that there are more characters coming into the picture for me to bond with. At least this way, I can focus on the stories I am more interested in and push back small annoyances. The anticipation for book 3 will be great because it means even more Wesley time! Sure, I'll be continuing on with the series. Lastly, it was nice to see some offbeat and unexpected humor pop up in a few places.
"Noah's ark nursery decor. I'm not religious like you and the mistress, but if I'm not mistaken Noah's ark was about the destruction of the entire world, right?"
"Right," Michael agreed.
"Might as well decorate with the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse."
Shrugging, Michael looked at the walls now painted an elegant light blue.
"Kids like ponies."

5++++++++ Stars. I love everything about this book.

“Have you ever had sex in the back of a Rolls Royce?” No, my King. I would love my first time to be with you.

GAAAHHHH!! ! I love this man.

description

Lawd Jesus! This was really good. Tiffany is an exceptional story teller. I was hooked from the very first page and stayed up all night to finish this. There were twists and turns that i never saw coming. Kept me guessing and saying just one more page.... just one more page.

We get to know the characters more and deeper. Soren! Gaaaahh! This man is layers upon layers, a hot sadist with a heart of gold. Yes the two do mix and come in a neatly wrapped package with a bow in form of Soren.

“Rolls Royces don’t buy themselves, do they, Suzanne?” No they don’t Sir! GAAAAAHHH!

description

Nora my love! I am in love with this hot, smart, funny Woman. We get to know her more. Her past with Soren and Kingsley is so entertaining and interesting, I want to be Nora in my next life.

And Nora didn’t flirt with anybody. “Flirting’s for people who don’t mean it, Wes,” Nora had once said. “I seduce.” I hear you Mistress. Seduce me! Oh wait! I am already seduced.

description

Angel!! beautiful Michael, I am so happy we got his POV here. Gaaaahhh! What an amazing sweet character, Michael is the balance in this story, a pure being.

“If it’s an abomination, Dad, you’re just doing it wrong. Bear down hard, then release. It’ll fit better.” Michael nearly shouted the words. Squeeeee! Baby got balls.

description

Griffin – GAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!!

“Holy shit,” Griffin breathed, his dark eyes widening at the sight of Michael.
“Yeah,” Nora said, smiling back at Michael. “Number two—Michael is absolutely, completely, ridiculously beautiful.”

description

I have never been soooo aroused. The best part of this series is that, it does not depend on sex to make it stand out. The characters and their stories make the book so much more. The sex scenes are hot, like really hot. The religion theme is so well done and blends in with the rest without being too preachy or overwhelming. The taboo part! OMG! I love, love the boundaries this author pushes.

GAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!

Thank you again Jan for the hand holding.

RATING: 5+ "Many Waters..." Hearts!! :) <3

“Many waters cannot quench love, Nor will rivers overflow it.” Song of Solomon 8:7

The Angel is simply erotic romance at its finest. There is something sinfully beautiful about this masterful world Ms. Reisz has created, the characters that inhabit it, and their compelling stories. This book invoked raw emotions in me I can't explain even if I tried.

“Love is the open wound that you hope never heals.”

Nora, Søren and Kingsley are ever present in this book, but I want to talk about two characters that truly made me understand—even a pinch of—this world and lifestyle: Griffin and Michael. Griffin is hilarious, easy-going and protective to the core. Michael is a young man, broken by all the cruelties life has given, yet still not weak as he tries to understand and take control (relative to his desire to submit ;) of his life and his desires. His first step into the unknown and his utter determination to grasp the very thing that which makes him whole is awe-inspiring and relatable. And the two of them together are the epitome of a soul-deep friendship, new beginnings, and an everlasting, irrevocable love. I LOVED both of them so much, and LOVED their love for one another!

“I want to own you,”...
“You already do.”

The ending is surprising to say the least, and because of it, I concede; I am beginning to actually like and understand Søren.

"Winter," she finally said, "can be so beautiful and so cruel. Cruel and cold. And if you live in the presence of winter you never have summer." Nora stepped close to him and put her nose at his cheek. "You smell like summer. Like clean laundry hanging out in the sun. That’s an amazing smell too.”

Definitely my fave, as of yet, of the series!

I even loved Soren after this book and I NEVER would have guessed that was possible!!!He was the only character that I truly disliked after the first book! But now what can I say about him???He was so freaking sweet and caring. He has offered to give up the priesthood for Nora and be there for her but it wasn’t enough for her and now we know why it wasn’t enough..
Nora is devoted to him and that will never change...

description

There is a reporter Sussane who try to expose Søren and his horrific past and fetishes..
To avoid being an even bigger liability,Nora goes into hiding and takes the young Michael with her to Griffin Fiske's estate...

So the three have a lovely summer holiday in which Nora undertakes to train Michael...

description description

I love both guys!!They are cute!Griffin is such a fun character and Michael is a sweetheart with a beautiful soul and like most teenagers he doesn’t know what to do with the fantasies that plague him...

"I want to own you" Griffin whispered into Michael's ear. Michael smiled and for the first time in his life knew exactly what to say and how to say it. "You already do"

description

Nora misses Søren and secretly misses Wesley..

We also see a little more of Kingsley. He is very intriguing!I have had a hard time trying to figure out Kingsley. He had a huge secret exposed in this book..But we will learn more for him in the next book!
(I can't wait to learn more about him!! :)) )

Nora is still Nora and I love her! She's hilarious and sexy as hell!!

This book was just plain amazing!!It's absolutely one of my favourite books!!!

** 4-4,5 “Jeg elsker dig, du er mit hjerte” STARS **

“No safe word can protect the heart.”

Once again, I am lost in Tiffany Reisz’s dangerously dark and confusingly erotic world. I’ve been having dreams about this book since I finished it 2 days ago and find myself thinking about the characters in the middle of the day, out of nowhere. This woman has become one of my favorite authors EVER so quickly, and has practically ruined me for all the other erotica books out there with her master writing skills.

From the moment you read the first sentence on the first page, you get sucked into the story and all you can do is try to connect the dots…the tiny details here and there, seemingly unimportant but rather crucial for the backbone of the story. Some of the clues I could catch, some of them I could notice only when the mystery was already uncovered, but I was left in awe every single time .

Let’s start with the highlight of the book: Griffin Fiske’s butler, Alfred. Yes, he was my favorite thing about this book! No, I’m serious you guys, don’t laugh!!

“Alfred, are you looking up my skirt?”

“Master Griffin, I would marry my own mother for the excuse to stab my eyes out with her brooches rather than see anything under your kilt.”

See? He’s freakin' hilarious! The love between him and his “master” is palpable…LOL.

Speaking of Griffin FiskeHOW GODDAMN PERFECT IS THAT GUY, RIGHT?! If I wasn’t already undeniably in love with Father Søren, I’d shamelessly fall in love with this man in a heartbeat! His sense of humor, his authority, his bravery and honesty…it’s all so mesmerizing. Oh and let’s not forget that he likes to strut around the house in his boxers!

Most importantly though, I loved the way he silently and slowly fell in love with a certain broken Angel… I loved how fiercely he could love someone and how willing he was to fight for that person. When Nora asks him, “That bad, huh?” and he replies, looking adoringly at the person he loves, “Yeah…that bad.” , my heart filled with something warm and heavy for him! ♥

Let's move on to Kingsley Edge… THE ANSWER TO MY PRAYERS! Thank God for his presence in this story! There’s a reason for my sudden fascination with this sexy Frenchman and it’s not just because he asks questions like “Have you ever had sex in the back of a Rolls Royce?” to everyone who get inside his…well, Rolls Royce, and because everytime he says “ma chérie” my panties melt and disappear. No, it has another, much deeper reason behind it.

“I've wondered a time or two if I love le prêtre more than you do, chérie. Now I know I do.”

And Father Marcus Lennox Stearns... My Søren. After this book, I know I’ve made the right choice to see the light inside him, ignoring the darker and scarier exterior. He has reasons. He has scars, so deep. Take off your glasses of judgement and look at him with naked eyes. You’ll see his inner beauty, I know you will...

Wesley Railey was absent for most of the book, but he had a VERY important part in the story. I just want to say, I admire his naivety and his big heart, but I am absolutely disappointed with him. The cruel and hurtful words he used while talking to Søren… So judgemental and prejudiced. And rather ironic too, wouldn’t you agree? He insists on always seeing the good and pure in Nora, but refuses to try to understand Søren. He is 20 years old now, but he was acting like a 12-year-old who stumped his feet because he lost his favorite toy.

And lastly…Nora Sutherlin. The woman that I absolutely loathed while reading The Siren, not because of her wicked ways, but because of her selfishness. The woman that has loved a man that needs to hurt her, nearly twenty years. The woman that kept dreaming of a boy with big brown eyes with flecks of gold in them in every chapter of this book. The woman that repeated 105 times that she is still in love with her Priest and that she will always come back to him. The woman that climaxed with another man, but with the name of that boy who played Battleship with her, on her lips.

You see, I don’t believe someone can be in love with two different people at the same time. Especially after my boyfriend of 2,5 years told me “he carried a heart with two women’s names engraved on it” after getting caught cheating on me. I didn’t believe that boy could love me and someone else both then and I still don’t.

So yeah… I don’t understand Nora Sutherlin. But…

…so I’ve decided to let go of my sharp hatred and fury towards her. In my mind, she is a woman that has fallen out of love with a man that, at some point, became just too much to handle, and she found love again in the arms of an innocent. I believe she is ready to give herself “heart, body and soul” to the boy that gave her the pajama pants with little penguins on it, but just isn’t ready to let go of her 18 years of submission and sacrifice.

Winter can be so beautiful and so cruel. Cruel and cold. And if you live in the presence of winter you never have summer. You smell like summer. Like clean laundry hanging out in the sun. That’s an amazing smell too.”

Nora has been living in winter for years. She needs to try summer now. And as much as it breaks my heart, I get it. I even wish she never gets bored of summer. I wish she never craves winter again.

Winter is better off without her anyway.

“Eleanor, if you have any mercy in that dark heart of yours, when you leave right now, you will walk and not run.”

(...)And Nora didn't walk and she didn't crawl and she didn't fly.

She ran.

6 hilariously kinky STARS!

“Hey, bad girl,” came the deep, sexy voice of The Griffin himself. “Can’t believe the Pope let you out of the Vatican.”

**Buddy-Re-Read December 2014 with my girls Jasmine, Supreet and Eda...well sort of...for some reason we got a little lost and read it at different paces. Uppps. Anyway, I tweaked my original review a little, added some graphics and thoughts. Enjoy. ;D

“Come on in. Let's get this orgy started.”

And we have the winner for this month’s stay up all night and read until your eyes cross contest. I can’t put this series down and I damn well don’t want to.
In my opinion you have to be fairly open minded to read these books, even by erotica and dark read standards. (**little sidenote after the re-read...I think I read a few more dark reads since I first wrote this...it's not that shocking in hindsight. LOL) But once you commit to the characters and the world they live in there is no going back. I’m certain I will never pick up a BDSM book and read it without comparing it with a Tiffany Reisz book. (**now that on the other hand is spot on)

As it turns out there is a difference between SSC and RACK. ;)

Besides being very naughty, well written and addictive, The Angel was also very educational and insightful. A lot of the unanswered questions from The Siren and some huge gaps in the timeline get filled in and man is that some story telling. Tiffany Reisz sure knows what she’s doing.

“Bless me, Father, for I have sinned. It has been…”

One of my first concerns was what happened with Zach and do we see him again. I have to confess my priorities can be a bit controversial, but that’s just how I live my life. So, to appease all minds...we get some -very little but still- Zach. That alone in my book deserves 6 Stars. As I said, warped priorities.

“No safe word can protect the heart.”

To the story. The Angel picks up where The Siren ends...well, just one minor thing, a year has passed. Nora is finally back with the sadistic blond hunk of a man. No complains there.

Wes is somewhere else. Major plus! I like Wes well enough but I don’t like him enough to care what happens to him either way.

Clue in a possible promotion for our favourite priest, a nosy reporter who by the way made me nervous like no one else in this book and a little Angel in search for love and acceptance. And of course Griffin, Nora and Michael penned up in a mansion over the summer. Recipe for a masterpiece.

And I'm doing happy dances around the house...

”I’ve hurt people. I’ve hurt them badly. I’ve left permanent
scars on some clients. Some outer scars. Some inner. But all
that pain I’ve inflicted…it was all consensual. I’ve never hurt anyone without their permission. All I’m saying, Ms. Kanter, is…” Sutherlin leaned forward and pressed the lightest, softest, most terrifying kiss onto Suzanne’s lips before pulling back an inch and whispering, “There’s a first time for everything.”

Nora continues to be the strongest and most fearless book heroine I’ve seen in a long time. The way she plays with all of the chess pieces (aka the men in her life) and as seen above some of the women, is downright enviable.

King is still such an enigma here. A few glimpses here and there, but nothing concrete. You just get the feeling that he will be just as amazing a character as Søren is.

Speaking of our favourite priest. We get a far better understanding about him in this second book. Quite a few questions about his upbringing and past are addressed. Some of it is quite shocking and heartbreaking, but one thing is for sure, he truly deserves his larger than life reputation. ;D

Michael and Griffin. *sighs*
“I’m so in love with him I can’t even think straight. Which is fine since obviously I’m not straight. And neither is he.”

What a wonderful little story and all kinds of yummy too. Oh, Ms. Reisz!
Michael is such a precious little thing and thank god jailbait is finally legal...for the squeemish among you. ;P

Griffin is the most beautiful character. He is wild and funny and just as unappoligetic as dear Nora.

Nothing else needs to be said. Well...ok, maybe this needs to be mentioned:

“There’s something wrong with your back” …
“There is?”
Griffin grinned at him. “My welts aren’t on it.”

And then there is the Butler of course. Never forget the Butler...he is hilarious.

Thank you for your time. On to the next one.

**and the re-read continues ;D

“Love is an open wound that you hope never heals.”

First read: 9 Nov 2016 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Re-read: 14 Nov 2019 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Re-reading The Angel felt like Heaven! Seriously, this series is my all-time favorite, and reading it for the second time, I'm loving it even more. Should I now say it's my double favorite? *grinning* Anyway, my review might be slightly spoilerish (I get carried away when I am over-excited) so read at your own risk. And of course, be prepared for fangirling and a lot of swooning.

description

Father S had met his eyes and Michael saw the hint of a smile in them, a secret smile and the passing shadow of a green-eyed girl who could make any man lose his religion.

We get Michael's POV in this book *happy dance* I can't tell you how much I adore this Angel. The most precious character ever. And kinky as hell. Don't let his innocence fool you. He's a junior kinkster indeed. I love the easy banter between him and Nora and how he's not afraid to be himself around her. And how Søren is more a father to him than Michael's real father ever was.

A good morning so far—she’d been fucked by her favorite man, hugged by her favorite boy and silently adored by her favorite angel.

Nora and Søren are happily back together and all is well in Paradies... Well, except not everything. There's always a snake, right? Troubles are brewing, so Søren sends Nora and Michael to Griffin. And OMG Griff is so gorgeous. I adore him too!

And coming down the main spiral staircase taking two steps at a time and wearing nothing but a black kilt and Doc Marten boots was the lunatic laird of the manor himself.

Yeah, that's Griffin. One-quarter Scottish and all crazy. And also the most spoiled trust fund baby ever. But I love how he genuinely cares about people around him. He's all humor and party on the outside but he can be so sweet and caring too. And his 69 jokes are pure gold. I'm so in love or in lust or whatever.

“Number two—Michael is absolutely, completely, ridiculously beautiful.”
“Nora…” Griffin said in a distressed voice. “I think I’m in love.”
“You’re in heat, Griff. Big difference. Oh, and number three…Søren says you can’t fuck him.”

Can I get all swoony again? Griffin and Michael together! They are the most adorable, precious couple. I just love them so much. They are perfect for each other. How Griff is making Michael feel more confident about himself and how Griffin became a better person for Michael. And wings tattoos *le sigh*

“Gorgeous, Mick. They’re gorgeous.” Griffin squeezed Michael’s fingers. “Just like you.”

***********************************
“I want to own you,” Griffin whispered into Michael’s ear.
Michael smiled, and for the first time in his life knew exactly what to say and how to say it. “You already do.”

Nora is still pinning after Wes. *roll eyes* I never truly understood their relationship. They are so ill-suited for each other and they are the only ones who doesn't see that. I have a feeling Nora never really thought through what she would have to give up to be with Wes.

In the meantime, Søren is dealing with a noisy reporter who is digging into his past and trying to expose his secrets. I have a feeling he had a time of his life playing cat and mouse with that annoying woman. She really had no idea what has she gotten herself into.

“It was Christ’s way to welcome sinners and tax collectors and other nefarious characters into His company and His Kingdom. On His especially compassionate and generous days, he would even speak to reporters.”

And I finally got more Kingsley in this book! Still not enough but at least I know what is waiting for me in the following books.

Nora grinned. Who was Kingsley? Kingsley Edge, the King of Kink in New York City. Half-French, all pervert.

***********************************
He looked like a man who’d seen so much blood he had the Grim Reaper on speed dial.

And we heard the most famous question of the series for the first time.

“Have you ever had sex in the back of a Rolls Royce?”

Yes, it's this series' fault for my obsession with Rolls Royces.

“God, they were sexy as hell, weren’t they?”
“Seriously,” Michael agreed as he looked over Nora’s shoulder at the black-and-white photograph. In the picture, he saw an eighteen-year-old Father S sitting casually in an armchair in a dark suit, tidy and pin neat. At his feet sat another boy, only a year younger, with longer dark hair and his Catholic school uniform artfully rumpled with the jacket abandoned, the tie loose and the collar open.

I'm so ready for teenage Søren and Kingsley in the next book.

"All summer long Griffin would top her. All summer long, she would top Michael. She'd have the best of both worlds and no vanilla sex at all."

♦ 5 STARS ♦

Although I already loved The Siren, the first part of the Original Sinners series, but I liked this second part of the series even more!! This series is so unique, captivating and powerfully written that it easily deserves to be on favorite series-list. And Tiffany Reisz has easily become on of my all time favorite writers. There just isn't anything out there that even resembles the original storylines of this series in the slightest. Therefore, this series is an absolute MUST READ.

REVIEW MIGHT CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T THE SIREN YET

At the end of The Siren, Nora has made the decision to go back to Søren. She made Wesley leave her house and she hasn't heard from him in almost a year. But she's happy being back with Søren, the man who has been equally infatuated with her since she was fifteen years old, as she is with him.

"My confessions begin," Father S said,"as the confessions of many men begin - with three words."

"Father forgive me?" Michael hazarded a guess. Father S sighed.

"I met Eleanor."

Søren faces the potential of being promoted to bishop. He knows there will be a lot of extra attention to his personal life and he wants to avoiding, at all costs, that anyone would find out about his relationship with Nora. So Søren decides it's best to send Nora away for the summer. That way, he can concentrate on the intrusive reporter that's determined to unravel all of his well kept secrets, without having to worry about Nora getting involved. Instead, Nora will be spending the summer months, together with "The Angel" Michael, in the presence of an old friend...

"And coming down the main staircase taking two steps at a time and wearing nothing but a kilt and Doc Marten boots was the lunatic laird of the Manor himself. Griffin Fiske..."

"This is going to be a long summer, isn't it?"
"Eight and a half inches long if you'll recall."

Griffin Fiske is the enigmatic playboy and rich kid owner of the mansion Nora and Michael will be staying it. He's easygoing, funny and surprisingly caring and I liked him from the start. His fun personality was a nice and welcome distraction along the more heavy, dramatic moments throughout the story. Nora and Griffin have known each other for a long time and they have a a strong friendship.

During the summer Nora will teach Michael how to become a good submissive. Originally she's the one who will top Michael while Griffin tops her. But at the same time, Michael and Griffin start growing closer to each other too. From the moment they met, they both felt attracted to each other but neither of them was ready to admit their true feelings. As the summer progresses however, they both find it harder and harder to hide what they're feeling.

I loved Griffin and Michael together! Although Griffin is a lot more experienced in the BDSM lifestyle than Michael, neither of them had ever been in a real relationship. They both have a lot to learn but they obviously care about each other a lot and they're both willing to make an effort for each other.

As for Nora, she finds herself often still thinking about Wesley, her former assistant, roommate and best friend. She finds herself comparing the two of them and it's obvious, the two of them could not be more different.

"Winter," she finally said, "can be so beautiful and so cruel. Cruel and cold. And if you live in the presence of winter, you never have summer." Nora stepped close to him and put her nose at his cheeck. "You smell like summer. Like clean laundry hanging out in the sun. That's an amazing smell too."

Søren is like winter.
Wesley is like summer.

Both of them have their own special meaning to Nora. And while she's used to pain and love going hand in hand with Søren, she's starting to realize that maybe these two things don't necessarily have to go together.

"Would she ever know what love without pain felt like? Did such a thing even exist?"

When the summer is over, will she return to Søren, the one who has taught her everything and who has owned her heart since the moment she first met him...

"Jeg elsker dig. Du er mit hjerte."
I love you. You are my heart.

Or will she give the lightness of summer and Wesley and a chance...

SPOILERS - do not read this if you have not read the previous books

Wasn’t sure anything could TOP The Siren… I was wrong. This book blew me away. This author is fantastic. She seriously has done her homework on the Catholic Church. As I speak, listening to the Radio, somebody else is on talking about the Magdelene Launderies, the Church, Catholicism. Will you “get” this book if you are not a Catholic? Yes, I definitely think so. The author is so talented that she can transcend any faith/persuasion.

I was intrigued by SØREN in the first book. Did I like him? Not really. Did I want him? Most definitely.
We meet all the characters again and are introduced to some more. Nora, she is the best. Absolutely love her. I want to be her.

NORA

GRIFFIN

What a hoot he was …

MICHAEL

Michael, Michael, Michael – tortured soul ….

Loved their story …

“… last minute he gets nailed on a thirty year old abuse accusation. So instead of becoming bishop, he’s getting sent to wherever they send the sex offenders.”
“They send the sex offenders to another church full of children usually.”

So, so true, Suzanne. The amount of cases that have been exposed, especially in Ireland about Priests being moved from Parish to fucking Parish!

There was so much going on in this book. It seemed at the end of every chapter a new revelation was there for us to consider.

We are introduced to Suzanne, a reporter, who has demons of her own. She hates the Catholic Church and for very good reasons.

Some Catholics, especially the older generation, considered suicide the most dire of all sins.

I thinks the times are a changing in that regard. At least now they are buried in consecrated ground.

This review is probably going to be all over the place because the story was all over the place, in a totally good way. We went from NORA to SØREN to MICHAEL to GRIFFIN, a brief glimpse into the life of WES, Nora’s mother, KINGSLEY, even get to catch up with ZACH.

“Jesus H. Christ.” Nora groaned. “Why priests can’t keep their holy cocks inside their goddamn pants is beyond me.”

I know one priest who I would have no problem with taking his cock out of his pants …

As I said, I did not really like SØREN in the first book…. Yes, he was sexy, gorgeous, etc. but just could not warm to him. No problem with him in this book. His character and personality was built up very well by the author. Jesus, what a lonely life it is for a priest. Seriously the Catholic Church needs to rethink its fucking laws on “celibacy”. Before I got married, I had to do a “pre-marriage course” – cannot even remember what it was about. Probably telling us that sex was for procreation and nothing more or some sort of shite like that. Funny thing is that the course was given by a married couple and a PRIEST. What in God’s Holy Name would he know about marriage? Seriously….. it is still the same 20 or so years later. I see it in the notice board at Church – “Those of you who are getting married in the future must do a Pre-Marriage course. Please contact XXXX for details”

A celibate priest doing marriage counseling? Suzanne shook her head. What on earth could a catholic priest know about sex or marriage or romantic relationships of any kind?

SØREN

SØREN in his clerical garb.
SØREN playing soccer (or football as I call it)
SØREN on a Motorcycle
SØREN just SØREN … no words for him!

But how could a Catholic priest be so … She couldn’t even find the right word. Attractive? Beautiful? Desirable?

“You called me Father comfortably, not Pastor or Reverend. And you have a distinctly Catholic look in your eyes”
“What Catholic look?”
“Guilt.”

Catholic guilt – does it ever leave you I wonder?

Sorry, to get back to the plot. Suzanne receives a fax with SØREN’s name on it with *conflict of interest written on it…. She is intrigued. Her brother, Adam, has recently died and she has absolutely no love of the Catholic Church. SØREN’S name is being put forward as the next Bishop. Does he want the job? Not really. Does Nora want him to become Bishop. Not really. Do the people of his Parish want him to leave? Not really. Suzanne decides he needs to be investigated…. She automatically assumes that the conflict of interest is something to do with Paedophilia – is she correct?

I wonder will Suzanne feature in future stories. There is definitely an attraction between them…. If I didn’t already love him at this stage what SØREN did for Suzanne at the end of the book was beautiful..

SØREN is a member of the Church of the Sacred Heart.
30 years ago you could not go into a house in Ireland without seeing a picture like this one hanging up in the kitchen – my mother still has her one over the fireplace….

“My confession begins,” Father S said, “as the confessions of many men begin - with three words”

“Father forgive me?” Michael hazarded a guess. Father S signed.

“I met Eleanor.”

THERE WAS SO MUCH GOING ON IN THIS BOOK THAT I COULD WRITE A BLOODY THESIS ON IT SO I BETTER JUST SHUT UP AND START THE NEXT ONE …. Twists and turns at every corner. I LOVED IT!

Original Sin

“I’ll come back,” she promised. “I’ll always come back to you.”
“I know,” he said with cold, calm arrogance.
“If I didn’t believe that, I wouldn’t let you go.”
“Believe it. It’s true.”
She took a step back.
Then another. “Always.”

“Eleanor, if you have any mercy in that dark heart of yours, when you leave right now, you will walk and not run.”

“I’d never run from you, remember? But I’ll always run back.”

She didn’t crawl and she didn’t fly.
She ran.
Down the hall she ran as if the hounds of hell nipped at her heels. She ran as if God himself had ordered her to. She ran as if her life depended on it and in that moment she might have sworn that it did.
She didn’t know why she ran.
She didn’t know who or what waited for her in the White Room.
She only knew she had to get there as fast as she could and whoever it was, he was worth
running to.

I said to myself when I finished this book that I would not start the next one for a few days. I just find them very intense reading…. Not sure if I can keep my promise. I am dying to find out what happens next.

All I can say at this late hour is "You lucky fucking bitch!"

Now that I've gotten some sleep... I can gather my thoughts on this one!!! What a fabulous story!!!
The Angel is a continuation of the story introduced in The Siren, a glimpse into what happens next in the life of Nora Sutherlin as well as a closer look into the past lives of Nora's men, the elusive Søren, Kingsley Edge, Griffin Fiske, Wes Railey and The Angel... Michael Dimir.

First and foremost is Father Marcus Lennox Stearns... Søren. The breathtakingly handsome and brilliant Catholic priest who also happens to be a sadist and The 8th Circle's lead and most feared Dominant. We get a much more in-depth look into Søren's past, and into the man himself. And oh my.... is he AMAZING!!!! He is sexy and alluring.. a sadist yes, but definitely worth the pain. He has a capacity to love that compares with no other. I have completely fallen in love with Søren!!!! I wouldn't have thought it possible... but getting to know him in this book has shed a completely different light on him for me!!!! I want more!!!!
Finally, I understand his love for Nora and his relationship with Kingsley.

"Eleanor, will you ever learn that when I say 'I love you' I mean it?" "Eventually maybe," she said.

"Nora reached out and touched the wound over Søren's heart. A superficial cut, it would heal in just days. The wounds underneath, however, were old and scarified and likely would never completely heal. Scar tissue, she'd once read, was the strongest of all tissues. Maybe Søren's heart was so strong because it was so scarred."

I also love the way the story unfolded. Centering around an investigation, one that threatens to destroy Søren's career as a priest, and Nora's reputation, the truth seeps out slowly and surely, and from none other than the mouths of the accused. I can't remember when I last read a book where I had an OMG moment at the end of almost EVERY chapter!!

And I cannot fail to mention my latest crush... Griffin Fucking Fiske!!!!! Incredibly hot, and gregarious, it is impossible to NOT fall in love with him!!!!!! And that vision of him in that kilt....throwing Nora over his shoulder...JESUS!!!! that one's going to stay with me for a while!!! It was also wonderful watching him fall in love with Mick!! Just perfect Tiff!!!! Loved every second of it!!!!

"And coming down the main spiral staircase taking two steps at a time and wearing nothing but a black kilt and Doc Marten boots was the lunatic laird of the manor himself."

 photo meninkilts-1.jpg

Nora's response: "This is going to be a long summer, isn't it?"
Griffin's response: "Eight and a half inches long, if you'll recall."

I loved Griffin's surly British butler, and Griffin's condescending remarks to him. Great witty banter! It was frequent and fabulous... "Pope Whatadick"!!! I LOVE IT!!!

There were also many incredibly touching moments, tearful moments, moments of Nora making peace with herself and her life choices. Her explanation of love, comparing her feelings between Søren and Wes with the difference between winter and summer was quite profound. I also love how she described their smells..

"Winter," she finally said, "can be beautiful and so cruel. Cruel and cold. And if you live in the presence of winter you never have summer." Nora stepped close to him and put her nose at his cheek. "You smell like summer. Like clean laundry hanging out in the sun. That's an amazing smell too."

All in all, I loved this book!!! No less than 5 STARS!!!!! I think Tiffany Reisz is a brilliant writer, and I will wait with bated breath for her next release....The Prince.... and we all know who that is going to be!!! SQUEEEEEEEE!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!!

Thanks Tiff for sharing your work with us!!!!!!!!

"Fetishes...they're the pet the pet that you feed or the beast that eats you."

To say that I loved this book would probably be an understatement. I fucking loved it! This series is captivating, dark, erotic, and completely addictive.

The Angel picks up 13 months where The Siren ended. After Nora's devastating decision with Wesley, she is now with Soren. The Angel gives us something that we didn't get much of in the previous book, some of Soren's history. Although he is still a very dark character, and still scares me a bit, particularly with his , I am starting to warm up to him more.

When Soren finds out that he is being considered as the possible replacement for the bishop and someone has broken into Kingsley's office and stole Nora's file, he knows the best thing for everyone is to send Nora away for a little while. The last thing they need is a closer look at their relationship, so he decides to send Nora away together with Michael to stay at the house of Griffin Fiske for the summer.

Michael, although now slightly older at 17, is still having a hard time dealing with the repercussions of his family finding out about his 'kinks'. Getting away from the brutality of his father and the lack of attention from his mother is exactly what he wants right now. Particularly for the chance to be 'trained' by the infamous Mistress Nora.

When he comes face to face with the gorgeous, tatted, and hillariously out-spoken Griffin, he is confused by his reaction to the man. Before long, Michael realizes that he is attracted to him and begins to want things he never before wanted.

Griffin was one of my favorite parts of this book. Besides him being sexy as hell, with tats and a Ducati, he has a wicked sense of humor.
"Alfred, I need ice and that vitamin K goop. Stat."
Michael heard the crackle of static.
"I loathe you, Master Griffin," came a British accent over the intercom.
"Thanks, Alfred."
"Is your butler's name really Alfred?"
"No, it's Jamison, I think. Can't remember. I changed it to Alfred years ago. My first crush on a dude was batman."

I loved the way that Griffin was with Michael. While he comes off as care-free and sarcastic, he was so caring and sweet when it came to Michael. Not to say that the steam was missing. Hell no! When they finally got together...

Their relationship is developing throughout the whole book, and it was my favorite part of The Angel.

***********************

"Tell me, have you ever had sex in the back of a Rolls Royce?"

Kingsley is pretty much the same mystery that he was in The Siren, though we do get to find out a bit more about his relationship with Soren.
************************
"Eleanor, if you have any mercy in that dark heart of yours, when you leave me right now, you will walk and not run."

After receiving an anonymous tip that there might be a conflict of interest in his consideration for bishop, a reporter begins to investigate the enigma that is Soren. Through the investigation we get to find out Soren's dark history. Finding out what we did, it really helps put many things in perspective, though it was devastating.

************************
Love is the open wound that you hope never heals.

Nora is still struggling with her decision of leaving Wesley. Even though Soren own her heart, she loves Wesley and can't seem to let him go.
Life with Soren was paradise, a dark, dangerous paradise but still, a perfect naked Eden.
"Almost perfect," she whispered to no one.

While Soren fulfills the dark edges, there is still a part of her that knows Wesley has something else to offer, something that Soren will never be able to.
"Winter, can be so beautiful and so cruel. Cruel and cold. And if you live in the presence of winter you never have summer." Nora stepped close to him and put her nose at his cheek. "You smell like summer. Like clean laundry hanging out in the sun. That's an amazing smell too."

****************************

Even though it has been 13 long months since he has last seen Nora, Wesley still struggles to move on and forget his love for her. He is the light to the dark that is Kingsley and Soren and the rest of Nora's world. He is so pure in his feelings, and ferocious in his love for her.
"No, she and I never had sex. That's true. But we had love, real love that didn't take anything out of us, that didn't bruise us or break us. I loved her without hurting her. You asked me if I, a virgin, could teach her what sex should be? No, of course ot. Hell no. But at least I can teach her what love should be like. And she knows it too.

To W.R. Many waters.

While there were many revelations, and questions that were answered, I still was left with as many questions as I received answers. I cannot wait to find out more about the mysterious Kingsley, and to see where the next book takes Nora and her relationship with Soren and Wes.

There aren't many series out there where I have much desire to re-read them. I mean, I know the story and how it ends. What's really to gain? What did I gain rereading The Angel? An even deeper, profound respect for this author. I recently tried to explain the TOS phenomenon to a friend and I compared it to an episode of "Friends," where there's not one or two MCs, but a conglomerate of characters, all adding their piece to the puzzle, making it perfectly balanced in the end. Typically, books with several characters tend to muck the story for me, almost confusing me, but Ms. Reisz carries her readers through their lives seamlessly. Each book moving us forward, all the while, giving us background at the same time. Happiness, sadness, pain, suffering, victory but never defeat.

The biggest highlight in this book for me.....drum roll please.

GRIFFIN! (and his antics with his butler- epic)

Jamison appeared in the doorway with a cooler.
"Thank you, Alfred," Griffin said, taking the supplies. "There's a thousand dollars in the cookie jar. Go buy yourself something pretty."
"I will purchase a firearm and shoot you with it," Griffin's butler said, bowing elegantly. "Master Griffin."
He left the room.

-or-

“Alfred, I need ice and that vitamin K goop. To the nursery. Stat."
"I loathe you, Master Griffin," came a British accent over the intercom.
"Thanks, Alfred," Griffin answered and came back to the bed.
"Is your butler's name really Alfred?"
"No. It's Jamison, I think. Can't remember. I changed it to Alfred years ago. My first crush on a dude was Batman.

Sweet Jesus, I forgot how much I loved Griffin until I reread this book! OMG the guy is so stinking endearingly cute. A filthy rich trust-fund kid, he grabbed my attention from the minute he waltzed down his mansion stairs in a Scottish kilt and Doc Maartens. Definitely a site to behold, I'm sure. But watching this Dom/man-whore fall head over heels for the stunningly beautiful was the highlight for me. Consummating that relationship even more so!

Each character has their flaws, their crosses to bear, yet their combined bond and support for each other is unbreakable. God help anyone who messes with one "of them."

When I first read this series a couple years ago, this was my least favorite book...relatively speaking since all four of them I rated five stars. Since then, I've delved into more MM reads and I found this book a lot more enjoyable.

I feel like reviewing any Original Sinners book is futal since the plot thickens with each book and any details are serious spoilers. Just know, there's a character for everyone to love in TOS. Ya like an intimidating, omnipresent, yet reserved persona in a hero? A sarcastic, smooth talking Frenchmen? A tough, snarky heroine? A sweet, virginal, beautiful yet scarred victim? A crazy, sarcastic, rich Bisexual Dom? You name it, TOS has it!

Moving on to my (third) read of The Prince (my FAVE). God, I'm such a Frenchman whore...

What can I say? Isn't Tiffany Reisz a genius?
And a tease.
I mean, switching the focus of the story every time things were getting insanely good and scorching hot. Evil.

The parallel story with Griffin

and Mick, sweet baby Jesus have mercy on us, all sinners.

Suzanne's part also, so good and thrilling!
On the other hand, Wes was a stone in my shoes. I can't get Nora's infatuation with him.

Tiffany Reisz, is the Queen of Kink.
I remember reading the Seven Day Loan in 2011. A very short story.
How this series became so big?
WTH?! Is she writing this series backwards? *open mouth*
AMAZING!

I have a love / hate relationship with Søren. That man both turns me on and makes me wet just like a Niagara falls but on the other side he is making me scare shitless. He is also a very complex man and it's really hard to understands him BUT in the end he did something for Nora and I'd never guessed that... He loves her so much and he gave something to her just to make her happy... And now God have mercy on my soul because of that gesture this sadistic son of a bitch owns my heart... ❤

“Many waters cannot quench love, Nor will rivers overflow it. Song of Solomon 8: 7.”

“4.5 best ending ever stars”
And Nora didn’t walk
and she didn’t crawl
and she didn’t fly.
She ran.
I waited for this very moment for past few days; you can imagine my level of happiness, that I’m writing this review after 45 hours of finishing it and I still have this big fat stupid grin plastered to my face, can’t seem to stop thinking and re-thinking this epic ending!
description
Another amazing book by Tiffany Reisz, this woman officially rocked my world! Beautiful young love, complicated characters, gut-wrenching revelations, incomplete romance-This story by far surpasses any stories I’ve read about love, life, friendship and sacrifice.

The characters TR creates are with absolute perfection and very realistic, you just wish to be like them, better yet to be with them. In any other world this story would be a scandalized tale of sinners, but we love them unconditionally and hope these damaged souls find their very own Angel

Kingsley
“Who is Kingsley? Kingsley Edge,
the King of Kink in New York City.
Half-French, all pervert.”
My favorite sexy Frenchman, he was enigmatic and distant but his love and commitment was simply heart touching! I seriously hope his true love comes back to him.

Griffin
“I’m sexual-harassment lawsuit waiting to happen.”
Griffin….*sighs* smart, sexy, amazing, funny, charming and AWESOME!! Loved his snarky remarks specially one’s about the pope *winks*
“You know I don't mind sloppy seconds.
And knowing Pope Whatadick,
he probably blesses his cum before he blows it”
I wish there was lot more to Griffin and his butler’s banters! It was FUCKING HILARIOUS!!!

“Master Griffin, I would marry my own mother for the excuse to stab
my eyes out with her brooches than to see anything under your kilt,”
"Thank you, Alfred," Griffin said, taking the supplies.

♥Michael & Griffin♥
“I want Griffin.”
“I want Griffin so much it hurts. I love him, Nora.”
description

Most cutest sweetest adorable couple among the kinksters!

“…Michael is absolutely, completely, ridiculously beautiful.”
“Nora...” Griffin said in a distressed voice. “I Think I’m in love.”

I’m in love with these two! Everything about them, their innocence, bonding, affection, sexual tension and mostly their love was to die for! This being my first M/M romance, I loved the hell out of them♥ Griffin was initially introduced as a playboy ex-drug addict dom who has never been in a real relationship but when he first lays his eyes on Michael he knew he wanted him so badly. Michael just like his name is a beautiful Angel, he learns to accept his desire and comes out of his shell to embrace the love he feels for Griffin.

Oh boy! Never knew guy on guy action could be so damn HAWT!! Everything about them is perfect, did I say how much I love them?! I’m in a sugar rush with all their sweetness!

Søren
description

I...ummm...I think...I Kinda...umm.. Love him. I Love Søren. There...I said it!!! It’s a Christmas miracle! Never knew I will stop hating him let alone adore him. Last 10% of the story really changed my mind towards him. I get why everyone loves him- he’s doesn’t mind Nora’s infidelity since he knows that he owns her and that she will ALWAYS comes back to him no matter how many sexual partners she had who worships the ground she walks on. That’s the power of his love, he may be a sadist but he’ll kill anyone who ever hurt her without her consent. Not only he’s kind, generous and super smart but dude does intimidate me at times!

Nora

Dear Nora,
Have you lost your fucking mind?!
I spent four days hating Soren, getting intimated by him all the time because that’s how you painted him bitch! Will you for love of the god make up your mind about your true feelings! Throughout Siren all I heard was Søren is dangerous, he’s a sadist, he hits you, humiliated you and that you left him for good blah blah blah… and you go running to him because that’s where you thought you belonged, almost stomping my heart in that process. I was so sick worried what how badly he’s going to hurt you and here the very first page I see you enjoying his holy cock inside you!

It’s a year since you are back with the pope and guess what I’m hearing? Søren is a devoted lover, amazing person, I would spend my eternity with him! I will die in my collar.” ooh! This is my favorite one “Søren’s the best man on the face of the earth,” now that sounds familiar, wait! I know where I heard that! You almost said the same thing about Wes
.

You are still awesome minus being emotionally stupid! Let me give you a piece of advice- KEEP YOUR SHIT TOGETHER Nora, I swear if you hurt my baby boy again...
description

Rating Clarification: only reason I couldn’t give perfect 5 stars because IMO Søren was introduced as different person here. I remember complaining about not knowing him in Siren but there he was pictured as a evil sadist and even with few flashbacks I saw him beating the shit out of her or being a manipulative bastard but here I didn’t see any mean streaks to him even his bloodplay felt romantic! No pain no belts no whips no slaps no humiliation but a perfect lover!
I’m glad I saw the sane side of Soren, understood his love, loyalty and kindness but I felt I was misguided!

Buddy read with insanely awesome Eda!♥ Sorry to torture you which all the teasers, but babe you really are a evil genius when it comes to the story-line *winks* love reading with you...muahhh!!

My Nora

My Soren

Can I possibly give MORE starts to this???

I loved, loved, LOVED this book.

Story picks up a year after the ending of The Siren (The Original Sinners, #1) by Tiffany Reisz . Nora moves on physically but her heart is still broken. She is in full denial and gets surprised when she finds tears in her eyes thinking about a certain Big Brown Eyes. This makes me wonder who exactly has the majority of her heart Soren or Wes?

Soren, Soren, Soren you beautiful Alexander Skarsgård look-alike

(No! Jamie & Sultan He is still ERIC! LOL). But since Nora compares him to "Eric" I will concede on this. It's safe to say Soren got under my skin and I no longer view him as a vile creature who violates Nora even after what he does to her ~13%. But hey with this series I learned to each their own. But learning Soren's history from his conception I gotta say he's TOO normal and good. Aside from heavy BDSM stuff and being a sadist he's a compassionate, intelligent, honorable, generous, and lovable man. And all THAT is SERIOUSLY messing with my head.

Kingsley... you bastard! or not... grr not enough information but a seriously interesting revelation of his friendship with Soren.

My favorite part/couple of the book... Our Angel and Griffin

My Michael

My Griffin

YEP, I actually cried happy tears in this heavy BDSM story thanks to those 2 crazy kinksters.

Preliminary review-This book is amazing. Just amazing. Tiffany Reisz is so damn smart. She makes you think. She makes you feel. She makes you question yourself and your beliefs. She's not afraid of the darknessthat resides in a character's soul and she's not afraid drag you along with her into that darkness.. Nothing is taboo with her, and she makes you feel like you should reconsider what you consider taboo. All of her characters are relatable. All are human, flawed and beautiful.

Søren, in the Siren, was not my favorite character. I like him much more now. I understand him better. We get to see the complexity of all of these wonderful characters. The addition of Michael is a beautiful one. There's a lot of character growth and definitely more sex. Reisz's characters have layers upon layers that are rarely seen in literature. She's a gifted writer. No one can write a Switch like Ms. Reisz, no one.

If you like BDSM, this series cannot be missed. It will be a classic one day. Of this, I'm sure.

As reviewed for Read Our Lips Blog: http://www.readourlipsblog.blogspot.m...

The Angel by Tiffany Reisz: Blew. Me. Away.  It's the kind of read you wish wouldn’t end with twists and turns you'd never anticipate, evoking emotions you never expected.

The Angel picks up a year later after the ending of The Siren. Nora is back together with Søren.  We get to see some play scenes between the two of them, which we fans have been waiting to see for so long.  Those two live up to the hype, let me tell you.  And finally!  We get to see some love and tenderness between these two!  Tiffany Reisz (TR or Mistress Tiff) made us wait a long time for that! But it was definitely worth the wait.

To protect everyone involved from a work issue that's dogging Søren, he sends Nora away and has her take Michael (the White Room Virgin from The Siren) with her to begin his training as a submissive.  Nora decides to go to upstate New York and visit Griffin.  We all remember Griffin from The Siren, right?  Sexy Dom with great muscles, hair, and smile?  Yum.  So it's just the three of them in Griffin's big house for the period of exile.

With Griffin topping Nora, who's topping Michael, this equals to so much sexiness, it makes you squirm in the best possible sense. The three of them together and all their debauchery for a summer were some of my favorite scenes.  At one point, Griffin is wearing a kilt and nothing else.  Be still my heart!

Add to the landscape, Suzanne, a reporter investigating Søren.  Suzanne has demons of her own – namely a brother who committed suicide, the biggest triggering factor having been molested by a priest in childhood.  Her faith is in question.  Suzanne has a very primal attraction to Søren.  She wants him.  With Nora gone for the Summer, Søren is short a play partner...

Suzanne gets to go a bit down the rabbit hole, but all under the guiding hand of Søren and of course Kingsley the Omnipotent.  Suzanne's investigating an anonymous tip she received about Søren, and through her digging we learn about Søren's beginnings.  I have to say, I like Søren a LOT more in this book, than I did in The Siren.

We get to see some of the bricks of his foundation and to say it's shocking is an understatement.   This is where TR shines.  She can take a book that is so enjoyable and sexy and bring an abysmal darkness into it.  All the while, she protects you from the deep despair that would normally accompany reading such a harsh subject matter.  Usually, it would be hard for me to move to a lighter scene after such darkness is exposed, but TR is just so good at weaving the human conditions which plagues us all.  Her writing makes you feel protected, I think much in the way Søren's subjects feel protected by him.  You may take the fall, but she'll give you a soft place to land.  I have no idea how she does it.  But it's one of the things that has always made her one of my favorite authors.

Notably missing is Wesley, but not for long.  I'm not going to spoil you on this one.  But just so you know,  I desperately covet Wes' combs.

The Angel is not to be missed.  TR is like one of those World Record setting Domino Toppling Players.  You know – the ones who set up tens of thousands of dominoes; up stairs, around corners, then back down stairs, and it all starts with one. . . little . . . push. The Angel is brilliantly woven, with wonderfully sweet moments as well as incredibly disturbing revelations.  While on this journey, I have no idea where TR’s taking me, but I love the hell outta the trip!  I have the feeling we've only just begun our Original Sinners journey and I eagerly await the next installment - The Prince.

What I liked about The Angel:

Reunion. I finally get the reunion between Søren and Nora that I wanted in The Siren.  Tenderness included.
Søren. I have now fallen prey to Søren's hotness.
Back story. We get more of Søren and Nora's back story. Together and Separate. Hold onto your hats!
Griffin. I adore him. Sexiness aside, his playful nature and huge heart would have even the coldest reader swooning.  He is a natural Dom, protective to the Nth degree and a smart-ass to boot.  Love, love, love Griffin!
Tattoo time and everything that went with it.  Everyone should get their tats from a purple-haired, Scottish chick named Spike.
Healing. Søren's assistance in helping Suzanne heal.
Wesley's talk with Søren. Boy's got cajones.
Nora's big heart. She may be a switch, but she's also a nurturer.
Michael, Nora's Angel. I love his sweetness, his bravery, his capacity for love.  His submission is beautiful.  He's very special and TR makes sure we know it.
The ending.  Here's how I feel about the ending-*twirly, whirly-gig, Lucy from Peanuts dance, ending in beautiful ballet on tip-toe, (I took tap and jazz, I don't know the names for these, sorry!) and Plié.*

5+++++ Stars! Love this book!

This is a fabulous series! If you have not yet read The Siren, read it NOW then read this one...

“description"/

A year after The Siren ends...
Nora and Søren are together, Søren ‘owns’ Nora once again. When they find out that Søren is being considered for a promotion as bishop and reporters start sniffing around, Søren sends Nora, along with Michael, away for the summer. They go to upstate NY to stay with Griffin Fiske. This reporter assumes the worst of Søren, that he is a pedophile priest, when she gets an anonymous fax singling him out. Once she gets to know the priest, her position on him changes a bit. I love how we got to get a look into Søren’s past in this book! Wow... learned so much about him! Things with his sister, shocked the hell out of me! I hate to say this... but I kind of liked Søren in this book...
Nora and Michael get to upstate NY to stay with Griff. Love when Griff first sees Michael
“There are three things you should probably know about him. First, Michael doesn’t talk.”

“Number two- Michael is absolutely, completely, ridiculously beautiful.”

“Nora....” Griffin said in a distressed voice. “I think I’m in love.”

“You’re in heat, Griff. Big difference. Oh, and number three... Soren says you can’t fuck him.”

Nora and Griff have fun, Nora trains Michael to be a submissive, and Michael and Griffin start to develop a relationship. A lot happens in this book, but I don’t want to spoil too much... READ IT!

“I have wonderful ideas. And terrible ideas. And terribly wonderful ideas.”

Nora Sutherland is still one of my most favorite heroines EVER! Love her! She is so funny and sassy
“Nora’s the strongest, smartest, toughest person I know. She rebuilt her life, re-created herself. She’s like her own sun, and we all just revolve around her.”

and Søren

Can’t tell you how much I loved these two! Griffin is so funny, sexy, protective and playful and Michael is really a sweet and beautiful person. I enjoyed watching their relationship develop in this story.

I was so happy to see Wesley in this book! Yay! We learned more about him as well... Even Wesley had a secret. Can’t wait to get more of him in The Prince!

This story has a dark side, but it is also funny, sexy, it has love, religion, sex, bdsm, it is controversial, sensual, passionate and so well written. It has some very sexy and erotic scenes. Tiffany Reisz is one talented author. Very rarely do I love a book as much as I loved The Siren, and end up enjoying the sequel even more! TEAM GRIFFIN!!! LOVE THIS MAN <3 <3 <3

5 +++ Controversial, Scorching, Addictive Stars!! It blew me away and I’m still recovering!!

“Fetishes…they’re the pet you feed or the beast that eats you.”
We’ll feed your beast until it’s tamed.”
-Nora Sutherlin

Check your morals and beliefs at the first page, because this book will have you looking deep inside yourself and leave you contemplating about everything you’ve read. If the unconventional is the solution in healing persons, who might otherwise not fare well with so-called accepted practices, what can it hurt, when they are hurting so much already?!?! Their normal might not be yours, but if it permits them to feel whole and ultimately endure, who are we to judge? If it hurts no one other than themselves, but that hurt has the power to heal, and they give themselves to someone unconditionally, one who can give them what them so desire…who are we to criticize?

I can't remember when a book turned my world upside down, had my heart in my throat, gave my brain a workout...oh wait…yes I can…that would have been The Siren!! Somehow though, this one knocked me for a bigger loop, sucked the life out of me! The Angel topped The Siren from the bottom. The second book had even more control and command over me than the first one did! I don’t even know if that makes any sense.

This book is like a Jack-in-the-Box…page, page, page…shocker…page, page, page…shocker, over and over. You crank the handle, then you wait with baited breath for the next revelation…you’re stunned, at times repulsed, horrified, but you have to continue reading. The story, the characters, their circumstances, how they deal and overcome, is fascinating, debatable and highly addictive!

The book is very erotic and some of that eroticism is questionable, especially when it comes to Michael. I’m on the fence about this with him, because of his age, and what he does, or, what is done to him. However, his alternative solution, should he not be allowed to do what he desires and what he NEEDS, would bring about the end of him, and I would rather he be allowed to live his “normal”, whether we agree with it or not.

Yes, there is blood play in this book and it didn’t appall me as much as I thought it would. It seemed incredibly painful, yet unbelievably intimate. I can’t believe I just said that! But, that’s how I feel. I’m just fascinated by this whole world and wouldn’t mind spending some time in this alternate universe. Does that make me a freak or weirdo (Michael’s words not mine)?? Maybe, I can't deny that I'm curious.

Soren is an imposing, arrogant, extraordinary presence! I was drawn to him once again, he holds all the power, but uses it very carefully. He’s also understanding and an honorable man. Yes, honorable, and extremely protective, giving and loving!! I find him to be one of the most intriguing and appealing characters I’ve ever read about.

Nora was Nora. Funny, sassy, flies by the seat of her pants and wants nothing more than to do right by Michael; albeit it will have you raising your eyebrows, as does her relationship with Griffin. They use each other sexually, like they’re having tea and cookies; it’s weird, but kind of funny! Griffin stole my heart in this book for all he is and what he does…I love him and have a new found respect for him!! Oh my, Kingsley, do tell, what goes through that mind of yours. I can’t wait to experience more of him. Wow, just thinking of what’s to come, has me drenched!! Wesley, I won’t say much about him…only that he’s delicious and his story is waiting to be told, let’s just leave it at that.

Tiffany Reisz wrote a FANTASTIC, well-written, well-thought out book. It is sensual, passionate, humorous, heart-wrenching, but also has some unbelievably heart-warming moments. It messes with your mind, what you want to detest, abhor, and despise…starts to make sense. The dialogue is amazing and deliciously witty!! Just a warning… this read is not for everyone, and you have to have an open mind, open heart and understand the book for what it is. If you can deal with some questionable issues, no correction, lots of questionable issues, then I HIGHLY recommend it, and then go ahead and become immersed, and lost in the intensity of Tiffany Reisz’s writing. It will mess with your psyche, play with your emotions and when you come out the other side of it, you won’t know which end is up!! One of the best, if not the best book I’ve read this year. Pretty amazing when The Siren held that spot until The Angel edged it out with its awesomeness!

I’m torn over the ending and my heart is heavy, but I truly believe that, (huge) It remains to be seen.

This amazing song, I'm not Jesus, is dedicated to all the Adams in the world, (huge)…your pain and suffering is unforgiveable!!

Do you remember?
Do you remember?

When your own world comes undone,
Let me be the one to say:
(Your god ain't looking down on me!)

"I'm not Jesus,
You can't run away!"

And the innocence you spoiled
Found a way to live.
(Your god ain't looking down on me!)

I'm not Jesus
I will not forgive!

I'm not Jesus,
I will not,
I'm not Jesus,
I will not forgive!

Oh, I will not forgive,
No, I will not forgive!

EDIT 12/28/13 from the Mistress herself: "Also in 2014, the first four books of The Original Sinners are being released with new covers with bonus short stories at the end. You'll finally be able to own "Gauze," "Griffin in Wonderland," "Midnight Mass," and "A Beautiful Thing" in print."

10+++++ Stars!!!!! Love this book even more than the first!

Wow. Just wow. I finally understand now. Why so many love Søren. How the chain of events are connected. How all these characters are connected. This book....just WOW. There are truly no words to describe just how mindblowing, sensational, EPIC, this book is. It is one of a kind and in its own class. To write a full-length review glorifying certain parts of the book would tarnish the perfection of the story, and for each positive brought forward, there will always be something more , something deeper , something unexplainable , something unreachable , that this review cannot possibly cover.

I am in shock.

I am in awe.

I am in pain.

I am in lust.

I am in love.

I am in awe.

I am in awe.

Beauty. Pain. Darkness. Light. Flaw. Perfection .

Well-done doesn't even begin to describe your marvelous writing talents Tiffany Reisz.

Tiffany Reisz is a Goddess with a pen!
5+ Brilliant Stars!

The Original Sinners series by Tiffany Reisz has completely consumed me. This is hands down one of the best series I have had the pleasure of reading. Reisz is brilliant in her writing and capturing the distinct personalities of each of her characters. She writes characters that are multi-layered, that will find their way into your heart and mind. They are dark, funny, witty, charming, promiscuous, damaged, sexy, shy, and just an absolutely delicious cast to read. It seems Reisz has come up with her own formula and is very clever in her execution.

For those that are new to this series, and haven’t read the first book ,The Siren, you must start there, this book is not stand alone. Also, take everything you believe about sex, love, promiscuity, religion and BDSM, particularly S&M, and put it away. If you are not willing to open your mind to a darker story and withhold judgment then this series isn’t for you.

This story begins a little over a year after The Siren, and life is good for Nora and Soren that is until trouble shows up at Sacred Heart in the form of reporter named Suzanne. Soren is being considered for a promotion to bishop, and Suzanne has received an anonymous fax suggesting a conflict of interest involving the good priest. Of course her first thoughts are that Soren is a pedophile. Soren decides to send Nora and 17 year old Michael to Upstate New York to stay with her friend Griffin until things cool down with the nosey reporter. Soren suggests that Nora take this time to train young Michael as a submissive. This sets in motion a crazy fun ride with Griffin and Nora at the helm. Griffin is the carefree, fun loving, playboy , and was such a fun character to get to know, I just adored him. Nora is magnificent as usual, funny, charming, insightful, and very sweet with those she cares for. Soren, I have a love/hate relationship with, I hate I love him! Then there’s Michael, he’s so sweet, and has such battered self-esteem and self worth.

Nora hasn’t spent any time away from Soren since she went back to him a little over a year ago. Now in Upstate New York with her friends, her thoughts start to stray back to a young man that she has loved , and has been her best friend. A young man she pushed away so she wouldn’t keep hurting him. I loved this part of the story, there was a moment my heart was just soaring!

A lot of information from Soren and Nora’s past come out in this book, matter of fact, there’s something revealed about everyone in this story, some of it is dark, and there are some surprises as well. One thing I have noticed in this series, is that characters all come from a damaged past, but that is not why they like the kink they do, they do because it’s just part of their make up, who they are. They would be kinky even without the scars from their past.

I loved the first book so much and loved this one just as much. The Siren was a bit darker, but The Angel still has the dark element, but is also more flirty and humorous.
I actually laughed a lot with this book, and enjoyed every page. This series has landed on my very favorites shelf, and one I could read over and over. The Original Sinners and Tiffany Reisz go beyond stars for me. I give my 5 stars, but it was so much more. Fans of the series will not be disappointed!

Many Thanks to Harlequin and Netgalley for the advance copy.

Review contains spoilers for The Siren

5 Sinning Stars

The Angel begins about a year after Nora returns to Soren. Their year back together has been perfect, but problems arise when Soren is being vetted to become Bishop. Soren concerned about people discovering his relationship with Nora determines its necessary to send her away. Michael is 17 now and in need of training so its the perfect opportunity for them to get away together and work on his training. So where should these two go….enter Griffin.

Since his attempted suicide his parents have treated Michael horribly. He doesn’t belong anywhere and is unsure of himself. While at Griffin’s Michael learns more about who he is and what he wants.

I am in complete shock after finishing this book. Why you ask…well, I am in awe of Tiffany’s writing and story telling.

I have no clue how she is capable of putting all this together where there is no down time in the book, and I am dying to turn the page to learn more. Its so impressive how every little details works together to mean something.

This series is like nothing I have ever read. There is no “filler” in her stories and they have completely consumed me, to the point I think about the characters in real life. This story is not just Nora and Soren, or Nora and King, or Nora and Michael…all of the characters are equally important to me which is so odd when we are used to reading books with two or three main characters.

I think everyone with an open mind should read this series, there is nothing to compare it to its in a league of its own. So excited to be moving on to The Prince!!

“Fetishes… they’re the pet you feed or the beast that eats you.”

How to even find the words to do this series justice?

Raw, dark and real, The Original Sinners is a must read for everyone. Tiffany Reisz draws you in with her captivating story, complex characters and out-of-the-blue turns.
“My confession begins,” Father S said, “as the confessions of many men begin– with three words.”
“Father, forgive me?” Michael hazarded a guess.
“I met Eleanor.”

The Angel picks up about a year after Nora makes the decision to go back to Søren. It’s been a blissful year for her, but with Søren being made one of the contenders to become bishop, she must go away and keep a low profile. However, she won’t be alone. Michael “The Angel” will be joining her and staying at Griffin’s mansion.
Once Suzanne Kanter gets an anonymous tip to look into a priest, old memories come to haunt her and she knows she’ll do everything she can to crucify Father Stearns (no pun intended). And she’ll be damned if anything like what happened to her brother happens again.

I’m always afraid to start these books. I know that I’m going to be put through the emotional shredder and have one hell of a book hangover. But what I love about this series is that it puts you through hell and makes you enjoy every second of it. It’s rough and raw but there’s always a certain lightheartedness to the story.
There are books that you love and you rave about, but after a while you forget certain details or all the feelings you felt while you were reading it begin to dull. This is not the case with The Original Sinners. I can still feel all the love, surprise, heartache… everything. And I know I always will.

The characters are so complex that you can’t help wanting to know more and getting emotionally invested. Just when you think you’ve solved the mystery that is Nora or Søren, you get slammed in the face with something new.
“Why did you leave him?”
“Winter,” she finally said, “can be so beautiful and so cruel. Cruel and cold. And if you live in the presence of winter you never have summer.”

Nora is as wonderful as ever. It’s truly a joy reading about her. She has so much pain but still manages to keep me smiling.
Michael and Griffin were great additions to the book. They had a beautiful relationship and you can’t help but me moved by it.
“I want to own you" Griffin whispered into Michael's ear. Michael smiled and for the first time in his life knew exactly what to say and how to say it. "You already do.”

Søren is as much as an enigma as ever. I don’t think I’ll ever solve the puzzle that is Søren, and with some of the secrets that came out in The Angel I’m not sure I want to.

Scar tissue, she’d once read, was the strongest of all tissue. Maybe Søren’s heart was so strong because it was so scarred.

But I still love him. Forget Wesley, Søren is mine.
Mwahahahahahahahahahaha nobody else can have him.

Except, maybe, Nora… maybe.

I didn’t really like Suzanne but I’m biased. As Nora said, why couldn’t she have been ugly? I’m just hoping she doesn’t make a reappearance.
Father Stearns and Nora Sutherlin had something, a connection, an intimacy… something deep and unexplainable, something untouchable, unreachable.

In short, if you haven’t read this yet then get started!
“You still love him, don’t you?”
“Many waters…”
“I never saw you cry over him, that year you were here. Not one tear.”
“Some hurts are too deep for tears.”

Michael "The Angel"

Søren

Nora

Griffin

Well, another book that is only 3 stars that I paid $6.99+tax on. Which I am not thrilled about.

But the strangest thing is that I MAY DO IT AGAIN!!

So... now that I've adjusted my expectations and realized that this series is NOT about romance and TRUE LOVE and all that wonderful warm fuzzies I like to escape to in my reading, I'm less critical about the *everyone sleeps with everyone else* bit.

Why 3 stars then?

BECAUSE:

1) I dislike Nora.

When a reader dislikes the MC the series is based off of THE MC, it's hard to give any book in the series anything more than 3 stars. Why do I dislike her? She's a DISLOYAL IMMATURE SEDUCER and MANIPULATOR.

Doesn't mean she's a bad person. She's a perfectly fine person who gives her money to good causes, cares about all the men and women she f*cks. All that good stuff. In fact, she reminds me of a friend of mine who's probably slept with 100+ men, don't recall 90% of their names, "loves" maybe 3-4 of them, and she's a good friend, caring person, wonderful all round.

BUT. She's not HURTING anyone.

Nora DOES hurt people. She hurts Soren and she hurts Wesley and she hurts Kingsley by extension bc of her hold over Soren. I really hate that about her!

2)...well, actually Nora is enough to account for the 2 star drop. Everything else is related to her actions that I dislike.

Soren is devoted enough to her to resist temptation and set her free when he realizes that she loves Wesley. Nora doesn't love either S or W enough to choose and STICK WITH HER CHOICE!! I absolutely abhor triangles. I HATE THEM. They are the anti-love story for me. Anything related to a woman stuck between 2 men or a man stuck between 2 women or a man stuck between 2 men, etc. I can't stand them! It's not true love to me when there's uncertainty and lack of conviction. And I absolutely hate that about Nora.

What I liked was the love story between Michael and Griffin. I also liked getting to know Soren: a sadist who is a good man, a great priest, a devoted lover. I want to know more about Kingsley. I may fork over another load of cash to read a book if it's JUST about Kingsley and Soren. I want them to get together and kick Nora to the curb!

I don't ever want to read about her again!!

(but that's not realistic in this series, so I will have to weigh my next book, if I read any more of this, carefully)

First read: February 2015 - 5 STARS!
Re-read: November 2019 - 4 STARS!
There was something to be said for fighting for the one you loved.
This installment of The Original Sinners is a pretty good example of why I try to avoid re-reads. But don't worry, I didn't hate it by any means. Reisz's brilliance got the opportunity to shine on multiple occassions . . .
"Fetishes . . . they're the pet you feed or the beast that eats you."
. . . and I ate it up!

Griffin and Michael were by far my favorite part of the re-read because they provided the only romance; their wonderful chemistry and connection bled from the pages.
"Love is the wound that you hope never heals."
Nora was still Nora. 😍 And the reader is given a few bread crumbs of insight into her relationship with Søren.
"Winter," she finally said, "can be so beautiful and so cruel. Cruel and cold. And if you live in the presence of winter you never have summer."
Also, I liked that Søren got more page time in this book and that another layer was added to his character in the form of a sarcastic streak.
"Priests are required to be chaste. Not blind."
I think the reason I had to lower my rating came down to this: shocking revelations are never as good the second time around. And without the shock factor, I have to admit I found the revelations to be very OTT and bordering on sensationalist.

But hey, if literary kink is your thing, this series is not to be missed!

This was a 5-way buddy read with the fabulous MONIQUE, URSY, LEILA, and WHITNEY. Thank you so much ladies!
