Praise for Fern Michaels
“Blends suspense, mystery and heartwarming charm.” —Woman’s World on Safe and Sound
Fern Michaels isn’t a person. I’m not sure she’s an entity either since an entity is something with separate existence. Fern Michaels® is what I DO. Me, Mary Ruth Kuczkir. Growing up in Hastings, Pennsylvania, I was called Ruth. I became Mary when I entered the business world where first names were the order of the day. To this day, family and friends call me Dink, a name my father gave me when I was born because according to him I was ‘a dinky little thing’ weighing in at four and a half pounds. However, I answer to Fern since people are more comfortable with a name they can pronounce.
As they say, the past is prologue. I grew up, got a job, got married, had five kids. When my youngest went off to Kindergarten, my husband told me to get off my ass and get a job. Those were his exact words. I didn’t know how to do anything except be a wife and mother. I was also a voracious reader having cut my teeth on The Bobbsey Twins, Nancy Drew, The Hardy Boys, Cherry Ames and the like. The library was a magical place for me. It still is to this day. Rather than face the outside world with no skills, I decided to write a book. For some reason that didn’t intimidate me. As my husband said at the time, stupid is as stupid does. Guess what, I don’t have that husband any more. Guess what else! I wrote 99 books, most of them New York Times Best Sellers.
Moving right along here . . . Several years ago I left Ballantine Books, parted company with my agent, sold my house in New Jersey that I had lived in all my married life and in 1993 moved to South Carolina. I figured if I was going to go through trauma let it be all at one time. It was a breeze. The kids were all on their own at that point. The dump was a 300 year old plantation house that is listed in the National Registry that I remodeled. Today it is beyond belief as are the gardens and the equally old Angel Oaks that drip Spanish moss. Unfortunately, I could not get my ghost to relocate. This ghost has been documented by previous owners. Mary Margaret as we call her, is “a friendly”. She is also mischievous. It took me two weeks to figure out that she didn’t like my coffee cups. They would slide off the table or counter or else they’d break in the dishwasher. I bought red checkered ones. All are intact as of this writing. She moves pillows from one room to the other and she stops all the clocks in the house at 9:10 in the a.m. at least once a week. When the Azaleas are in bloom, and only then, I find blooms on my night stand. I have this glorious front porch and during the warm months I see my swing moving early in the morning when the air is still and again late in the day. She doesn’t spook the dogs. I always know when she’s around because the five of them line up and look like they’re at a tennis match. As of this writing we’re co-habiting nicely.
Most writers love what they do and I’m no exception. I love it when I get a germ of an idea and get it down on paper. I love breathing life into my characters. I love writing about women who persevere and prevail because that’s what I had to do to get to this point in time. It’s another way of saying it doesn’t matter where you’ve been, what matters is where you’re going and how you get there. The day I finally prevailed was the day I was inducted into the New Jersey Literary Hall of Fame. For me it was an awesome day and there are no words to describe it. I’ve been telling stories and scribbling for 37 years. I hope I can continue for another 37 years. It wasn’t easy during some of those years. As I said, I had to persevere. My old Polish grandmother said something to me when I was little that I never forgot. She said when God is good to you, you have to give back. For a while I didn’t know how to do that. When I finally figured it out I set up The Fern Michaels® Foundation.
The Sisterhood is a group of people who have come together to right wrongs when the legal or justice system fails. This is book #35 in the series and I’ve only read the previous one, Tick Tock (Aug 2022). There are a lot of characters and names to keep track but some background is given to understand the connections between members of the Sisterhood. This adventure introduces Zoe Danfield, a VP of a large construction corporation. When structures are collapsing that her company has built, Zoe suspects problems within her company and turns to best friend Izzie. She in turn introduces Zoe to the Sisterhood. The Sisterhood has connections with authorities, government agencies and common people who owe them their allegiance. And they have almost unlimited resources to bring about their own brand of justice.
The story flows at a fast pace and over a short period of time. There is some repetition as Zoe’s is introduced to members and her situation is explained again and again. But once the ball is rolling, it is a fun ride with lots of players in motion. People who will love this most are ones who have read more of the series and want updates on the characters and understand their connections. I’ve enjoyed the two I’ve read but it hasn’t inspired me to go back and read the rest of the series. Thank you to Kensington Books and Zebra for the ARC via NetGalley and I am leaving a voluntary review. (3.5 Stars)
The Sisterhood has done it again. Zoe suspects her company is responsible for inferior building materials resulting in the deadly collapse of multiple buildings around the world, but no one is connecting the dots. People have been injured or died. She mentions this to her friend Izzy who sets the Sisterhood on the trail to track down the responsible person(s) and make sure justice is served as only The Sisterhood can. Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for this advanced review copy. In return, I am submitting my unbiased and voluntary review. All opinions and thoughts are my own.
Isabelle “Izzy” Flanders and Yoko Akia need materials for their new project. Izzy contacts Zoe Danfield an old friend in the business. Zoe is coming to visit and Izzy feels Zoe is hiding something. Zoe has been moved to a lower position in her company after asking questions on quality of work. Zoe was almost pushed off the the subway platform recently. Seems when the sisterhood dig into Zoe's company, they are seeing red flags. Another great read from the sisterhood doing a good job of taking care of business.
I'm always hesitant reading a random book in a well-known or developed series, but I thought, here goes nothing! This one publishes on December 26th, so if you want to get a New Year's present for someone, this may be your choice!
We meet Zoe and Izzie, best friends, and they are struggling with some of Zoe's work issues. Zoe suspects illegal activity at the company she works for, and seeks the assistance or support from Izzie, but Izzie has other plans. She introduces Zoe to the "Sisterhood," a group of women who have come together through unfortunate circumstances and helped one another and solved the problems. Through the help of all the sisters and some other contacts they all know and trust, they are able to take down the two executives who are stealing and making buildings unsafe. Zoe finds love and gets married, and they all keep moving on to the next adventure.
It was an easy and short read. It reminded me of the The Hot Flash Club by Nancy Thayer, so that wasn't a new concept for me. It was difficult to not know all the characters and be met with them all at once. There were a lot of people to keep track of which was difficult for me. I'd say this one was a 4-star only because I felt a little left out of the hype and also felt there was some plot lacking. The plot that was in the book was too fast-paced for me. Overall good read though. I'd definitely try another Fern Michaels, and maybe even start the beginning of the series!
The Sisterhood still lives to stop bad, corrupt people usually men. This time a friend of Isabelle"Izzy" comes to her with concerns about the company she works for. The sisters step in and take control of the situation. The book was an easy read.
The Sisterhood is back at it again and I couldn’t be happier! These women have come back together to help yet another woman who had been wronged and is in trouble, and they do it as only they can.
This group of women truly believes and understands that you support and respect each other, you build other women up and help them when they’re in need, then you carry it forward. This time it’s one of Izzie’s old friends in trouble, and it involves international intrigue and adventure, so buckle up, because you never know what’s going to happen before someone hits Rock Bottom.
A Sisterhood with a vengeance that helps the helpless who has been deceived or wronged to get justice. It feels like James Bond 007 but without the brawl; it's a team of women with brains and some bankroll who goes all the way to help each other get the rightful justice the other deserves. This time, the victim is Zoe who has a flair for fashion but she's an engineer by profession. She detected some discrepancy with the building materials and started investigating which got her into some hot soup. With help from her best friend, Izzie and the Sisterhood, Zoe managed to find out the truth!
"My mother always warned me not to waste my time being unhappy when we have options. We can't make people make us happy. It's up to us. What do we want? What do we need? We are as important as anyone else."
This is my first-time reading Fern Michaels and I have been reminded of Diva Channel's drama TV series LOL! The way it was written definitely can be turned into TV or movie anytime! It was easily understood, and I could imagine the plots, the scheme of things and all the excitement that it brought along. Though this is book 35, it was well explained and informed that I didn't get lost or confused. So many things happened in a short time which made it the more engaging and exciting. It sure felt like Charlie's Angels but with a different spin.
Thanks to Netgalley and Kensington Books for this e-ARC 🙏🏻

Zoe is an engineer who noticed some things were a little off in her company who makes building materials rom concrete. She starts looking at some files at work and is suddenly sent back to New York from London and told the project she was working on was cancelled. She is also cut off from her access to many of the accounts at work.
Zoe meets up with a college friend, Izzy, who also has work issues but soon spills the beans about her concerns for her company. Zoe is introduced to Izzie's Sisterhood, a group of women who exact revenge for other women who are wronged. They come up with a plan to not only find out who is responsible for what turns out to be subpar concrete but to punish them for the harm they have caused.
It's hard to read a book that is 35 in a series without having read any of the other books. I was able to get a good handle on all the characters in The Sisterhood and I enjoy them but it all just seemed so easy for them to do what they did in about a week's time. I get that a private jet makes it easier to get around but there weren't any problems at all. Not that I expect this type of book to be realistic, but this was too far fetched for me even though again, I liked the characters.
The most current version of The Sisterhood series was yet another story about righting the wrongs. In this story Izzie's friend Zoe was having issues with her employer at REBAR. Her position was changing and she noticed some invoices that did not ring true. Zoe prided herself on being sure that the products provided for the projects were of the highest quality. Fortunately, the Sisterhood took on the task of investigating and discovering that two individuals at REBAR were providing substandard concrete products and pocketing the money by using a fake company. Once they uncovered who the perpetrators were, they exacted the type of justice that the Sisterhood is known for. Along the way, several of the employees were taken care of by providing them with better jobs. Adding to the story Zoe was being tailed by a person who was eventually linked to her friend in England. As it turned out, there was a misunderstanding, so eventually Zoe and Mason did connect again. Good story with a satisfying ending.
The Sisterhood: a group of women from all walks of life bound by friendship and years of adventure. Armed with vast resources, top-notch expertise, and a loyal network of allies around the globe, the Sisterhood will not rest until every wrong is made right

The Sisterhood series has a huge following, and it's easy to see why. The tales of righting wrongs, and putting down bad guys are fun and fast=paced. Her fans will love this new entry. #RockBottom #NetGalley #SaltMarshAuthors
I am pretty sure Ive read most if not all of this series and loved enjoyed them all. Smart women taking charge and getting even. Who wouldn’t love that? When the team is working on a construction project and they connect with a friend to process the building supplies needed. Zoe seems so very different than her normal self confident self and they know something is wrong. Zoe knows something fishy is going on at her company and is scared. Too many of the products they’ve supplied are turning out to be faulty and costing so many lives. She’s started snooping and now is afraid for her own. Together, the wonderful team craft a plan that takes care of all who have been involved in the gets even with all involved in the wrong doing in the best and at times really fabulously creative smart ways. A fun easy read. Upgraded to 4 stars from what would have been 3.5 if half stars available.
I received a copy of this book from Netgalley.com in exchange for a fair and honest review.
The latest in the sisterhood series which I have not read but read this book without any problem, in fact I will be picking up the rest now to read. The Sisterhood is a community who helps and defends women wrongfully and hurt. The latest lady they help is brought in by Izzy and it is Zoe who has stumbled upon the dangerous and malicious act of mixing inappropriate concrete for a profit putting unsuspecting people in harms way. The ladies work together to lay out the plan and execute. It is a fun and well laid out book with the plan and a bit of suspense loaded in with the ladies making sure those responsible pay while the innocent are taking care of in terms of jobs.
Definitely worth the read and can be a fun weekend or summer read.
Thank you NetGalley, Kensington Books, Zebra and Fern Michaels
As I was reading Rock Bottom by Fern Michaels, the first book I've read in her Sisterhood series, all I could think was, "How is it that I have never heard of this series before?" I loved everything about it! The concept of women working together as vigilantes seeking justice on behalf of women who have been victimized and scapegoated, the 'Kingsmen' and 'Ocean's 8' vibe, and the almost sorority-like closeness of the characters, all spoke to me. Add to that the book is fast-paced and well-written, with characters travelling the globe and coming out of the woodwork to help out. I found the entire book delightful, entertaining, and ultimately satisfying. I will definitely be going back and reading the previous 34 (!) books. I feel very fortunate to have received an ARC of #RockBottom from #NetGalley.
The women and men of the Sisterhood are up to their usual business of righting wrongs and making sure the bad guys pay for their crimes. In this case, a friend of Izzie's suspects that her company is producing inferior concrete products that could easily cause buildings and other structures to fail. Zoe mentions her concern to Izzie, and before you know it, the Sisterhood starts the investigation.
As with the other books in the series, the plans manage to come together, no matter how far-fetched they seem. This team of mostly women pull off the most outrageous acts of deceit, all in the name of justice, and somehow, it all works out in the end.
Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.
The Sisterhood is called to action again when Zoe, a friend of Izzy's, discovers that the company she works for may be producing inferior foundation materials. After she asks questions, she gets moved to a new "position" and then she starts to feel that she is being followed.
Once Izzy finds out what is happening, she introduces Zoe to some of the members of the Sisterhood. It's been a while since I've read a book in this series, and it was amazing how quickly I remembered the characters. I love how they plot their "revenge" against the perpetrators and the fact that they look out for innocent people who are on the periphery who might suffer.
Thank you to NetGalley, Kensington Books and the author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.
**Was given an ARC by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review**
The Sisters are back with a new mission involving Izzie's old friend from college.
When Izzie contacts an old friend, Zoe, for help on a new project that Yoko is designing with her, Izzie notices that Zoe has something else going on. Zoe works as an engineer and stumbled upon some shady dealings in the company and she feels that her life is in danger.
Izzie immediately calls Myra and Annie and they introduce Zoe to the Sisterhood. Zoe agrees to help the women take down her boss and his shady company of selling cheap supplies to build buildings and bridges. Endangering others while collecting payments.
I always love reading about the Sisterhood. They are always a fun read.
In Rock Bottom, Zoe is an old friend of Izzy’s from college. Zoe has discovered that her company was making subpar building materials that have caused injures and deaths when buildings collapse. Zoe talks to Izzy about what she has discovered. Zoe feels she is not safe because she knows to much. Izzy introduces her to the Sisterhood to help research the company and bring them to justice. They find out how far the deception goes.
Thank you NetGalley, Kensington Books, Zebra and Fern Michaels for the ARC for my review.
Another excellent book in the Sisterhood series. I really enjoyed all the Sisterhood books I have read and this is no exception. This time, the Sisterhood team up to help Zoe Danfield, an old college roommate of Izzie, that has encountered possible sub standard foundation materials. The plot to get justice for not only Zoe but the countless potential victims involves quite an intricate plan. And the various innocent people unwittingly involved in the schemes just adds to the ways to avoid them being collateral damage.
I highly recommend this book as well as the entire series. The women of the Sisterhood are remarkable characters with backstories of survival.
This is the 27th book in this series and I am enjoying them as f it was the beginning of the series. this series has grown in the depth of its plot and the dimensions of its characters. by now you know all of their background stories. The Sisterhood whose mantra is w hatever it takes seek justice against construction companies s putting cheaper shoddy materials in building bridges, hotels and in this case school and lining their own pockets with the money saved There was a tremendous amount of research and statistics from building collapses world wide. The idea of correcting an injustice is still such a great feeling!
This book was just as good as the first one. I love this series of bad ass women who right wrongs. This one was in some ways just as good and personal as Alexis and the sisterhood right the wrong that was done to her Book 6 Lethal Justice. These characters jump off the page and you feel like you know them. You root for the sisterhood to help these victims and get vengeance on their behalf. I recommend reading at a minimum the first 7 to find out each of the original sister's of the sister goods own stories. But I believe reading all 35 in order provides the best picture of all the regular characters needed to plan out and serve justice to those that need it.
This was a very good book like all of Fern Michaels book areas like. Usually there are some heart pounding parts in the Sisterhood Series. That was not the case in Rock Bottom (Sisterhood Book 35). There's reason were some surprises along the way, and I would way of definitely read this book but don't expect the usual hi jinx that were in all the rest of the books in this series. I still gave the book five stars because as with all of Ms. Michael's books, it was a very enjoyable story and also great catching up with all characters we have come to love.
This was my first book in the Sisterhood series. A group of friends and colleagues who have developed a network to arrange justice. This is a strong story that can be read as a stand alone. When Zoe visits Izzy an old college friend she finds herself telling her story of being concerned about her job change at a large construction corporation. She finds Izzy has many influential friends who will help her uncover the truth. A very quick entertaining read that you will throughly enjoy. Thank you NetGalley and (publisher) for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.
While the story is good, the author is getting a little sloppy
The story was not bad, and for me to put it that way when I really like the series says a lot. My biggest issue is that the author made an error that is too easy to catch. In the story, Annie owns a Gulf Stream jet. The author identifies the time to fly from the Cayman Islands to Santo Domingo as taking four hours. There is no way that a Gulf Stream jet is going to take four hours to fly that short a distance. I will be the first to say that reading stories, you have to suspend reality. But suspending reality also means you have to take care on when you do that.
How exciting a new sisterhood book! Love the series so stopped everything to read this one right away. This time only a select few help Zoe, Izzie's friend. But as always the research and outcome are a good story. How can greed come before safety? And how would you feel if you found corruption in the workplace? I thought it was a good idea for the book to start with a quick overview for the reader that hasn't followed the series. Also a good refresher for the devote reader. Can you imagine the smell of that rotten cabbage? Loved it!
Yet another book about the vigilantes and their form of “justice.” I was so excited to see another book about the sisterhood, but this one lacked the same excitement and fun that I have come to appreciate in this series. It fell a bit flat for me. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the story and will continue reading about the adventures of the sisters.
This book can be read alone but it would be best to at least read the first few of the series to fully understand how and why the sisterhood was formed.
This is a Mystery Suspense, and this is the 35th book in the Sisterhood series. I have read some of the other books in the Sisterhood series before picking up this book, and I do think you can read this book as a standalone without any problems. I really enjoyed the characters in this book. I found this book to be a fun fast paced read with suspense and mystery. I really enjoyed reading this book. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.
I love reading all of Fern Michael's books especially the sisterhood series. We usually get two a year do I look forward to them, I always pre-order and as soon as I receive the download to my kindle I try to read it straight thru. This book was good but not as great as some of the others. I felt like I was on book one because the first few chapters was going back to the beginning of each character. Once they had there mission everything moved so fast that there was no problem to overcome and I was hoping for a little more action that we look forward to. These are revenge books after all.
This book is one in a series of books known as the Sisterhood. I did not finish this book. Several of the key details important to the series and formation of the group from the first few books are told completely differently. I get that the information in kept concise and it's just background info about the group and it's members, but at least keep the founding details the same. For right now I have set it aside, I may go back to it later, but it is a really tough read to complete at this time.
