Ruth Cardello hit the NYTs and USA Today for the first time back in 2012. Millions of sales are evidence that her books are akin to potato chips, addictive from the first one. She has created a multi-series billionaire world with a combination of escapism and realism that has gained her a faithful following of readers.
What Kindle Reviewers write about her:
"Wow hot at every page. Heart stoping, fear raging, mind blowing wonderful."
"I'm a true fan of Ms. Cardello. I ran on to her first book a few years back and have been hooked ever since. I could go on and on about the story like of this book, but I'm not. All of her books are total page turners, unique, heart wrenching, and I love them all. There isn't two alike in the bunch and I feel like i know the characters personally. I personally read 97 authors books. And I buy every book they put out. This author is in my top 10. Great job and keep them coming."
"Love this series. Got me to start reading again. I look forward to the next book. Thank you for giving me the love of reading back."
Ruth Cardello was born the youngest of 11 children in a small city in northern Rhode Island. She spent her young adult years moving as far away as she could from her large extended family. She lived in Boston, Paris, Orlando, New York--then came full circle and moved back to New England. She now happily lives one town over from the one she was born in. For her, family trumped the warmer weather and international scene.
She was an educator for 20 years, the last 11 as a kindergarten teacher. When her school district began cutting jobs, Ruth turned a serious eye toward her second love- writing and has never been happier. When she's not writing, you can find her chasing her children around her small farm or connecting with her readers online.

After finishing the first book in this series I knew that I had to read the second one! I am very glad that I did! There was a little bit about Nicole in book 1, just enough to get you interested in her! This book definitely focuses on Nicole and Stephan, her brother's rival who makes a short appearance in book 1. After book one I assumed that I was really going to hate Stephan and for a while I did. That all changed as his character changed and you were able to really see more than one side of him. Nicole was easy to fall in love with...with all that she had been through it is almost impossible not to be holding your breath and hoping for a happy ending for her. Besides Nicole & Stephan the reader is really able to get to know Stephan's family...with its variety of characters, all of whom are focused in getting Nicole & Stephan their happy ending.
This book had me laughing, crying, and holding my breath waiting for something to happen! I give it 4-stars, because although I thought it was really good, I loved book 1 more! I definitely can't wait to see what book 3 has in store!
❤️❤️❤️❤️ 💋💋 Much as I liked this book , and the characters of Stephan and Nicole , I felt something was missing . A connection between the main two wasn’t there . They start as friends, then enemies, then friends again, then fall out ,then make up . But all the time a spark is missing.
Loved the plot and the Andrades family. Only a four stars this time I’m afraid .

My Thoughts Stephan is an ass, but he's a nice one. This book deals with misconceptions and reunions.
The chemistry between the characters is awesome! Stephen and Nicole are clearly destined to be together. Because they have to overcome their personal hurts and anger to find each other again, it is so much sweeter when they finally do it. Nicole felt abandoned by her family, and by Stephen a few years earlier, and is forced to find a way to handle those feelings when her father passes away. I loved the 'red bikini' scene! Stephen may have actually known about the women's secret (he confesses this fact later), but his reaction was great! Then, for him to use a form of this method on Nicole later was an excellent payback! Stephen is strong and proud. He has to overcome issues from his past and learns things aren't what he thought. Once he learns the truth, other things become clear to him. He realizes his love for Nicole and recognized he had made a huge mistake by hiring the hacker to sabotage her brother's China project servers. I liked how the two proud forces of Stephen and Dominic finally came together because of the love they have for Nicole, but also because they realize they need to rely on each other to find a solution that saves the servers.
First and foremost il start of by saying I read this book (Book 2 in the series) as a standalone, so unfortunately I cannot comment on the first book of the series, and perhaps some of the criticisms I make of the book may not apply had I read the first book. But personally I feel my criticisms stand, even if I had read the first book.
I had mixed feelings with this book. The plot had me intrigued, there's only been one other occasion in which Iv read a book somewhat like this and it turned out to be one of my favourites to date (Mischievous Mrs Maxfield on Wattpad I urge you to read it if you liked For Love or Legacy!)
I have many good things to say about For Love or Legacy, I loved the characters, the plot, the humour and even the romance, in fact I loved it so much that I read the entire book in one night... Suffice to say I didn't sleep that night. ;)
I found Nicole to be charming, her innocence and naivety to the 'real' world made me feel rather protective over her, as if she was my daughter that I had to protect from the big bad world. Unfortunately Nicole wasn't spared from the evils and suffered through many different upsets along the story. I would like to add that I really wished that the author would have gone slightly deeper in to Nicole's troubled past. I would have liked to have seen a bit more of Nicole's feisty side when dealing with those issues.
Furthermore I L O V E D Jeff. For me I found myself wanting to give Jeff a big hug. His unorthodox attitude in relation to Nicole at first knocked me off a bit, however it took him one word before I was completely swooning at the prospect of a close friendship between the two. Throughout the story I found myself comparing Jeff to a eccentric fairy godmother. It was easy to imagine him and his sarcastic and witty behaviour 'bippity boppity boo'ing' Nicole all the way to the ball. All rounded I found him a very exhilarating change from the usual 'blonde loyal best friend' that commonly appears, acting as a support crutch for the main heroine.
My criticisms somewhat lie with Stephan, firstly I'd like to say that although I did love him very much I found sometimes his behaviour somewhat insufferable. Firstly he treats Nicole so horribly based on his mental assumption that Nicole had something to do with her brothers plans. I can somewhat understand that at first, But COME ON dude.... How long does it take you to understand that Nicole most definitely had nothing to do with her brother.
As time proceeds on, that small fact annoyed me to no ends. You're supposed to be this 'witty' genius whom salvaged a dying business, but you can't think rationally and see what's in plain sight?
Maddy was a character, she had me laughing and I found her attitude adorable. I loved the first scene (I don't want to spoil it for you...) in which she and Nicole are together in a limo. If you've read the book you will know what I'm talking about. That particular scene had me in stitches, tears and even cooing. It was one of my single favourite scenes.
Unfortunately I'm going to have to say this...
I loved the book very much, however by the end of the story Iv been left with this strange feeling, almost as if I don't know the characters enough. Some issues Nicole dealt with was briefly skimmed over and her relationship with her mother was left unsaid. I feel as though I didn't get to see Stephan in depth enough. I didn't get to see him chill back, relax and really open up with Nicole. I wanted to see more intimate heart to heart moments. I wanted to learn more about these characters that I'd come to love very much. I wanted to learn more about Nicole. I wanted to see her dealing with her issues. The good bits and even the hard bits. I loved the book however I'm being left, wether it's a good thing or a bad thing, with the feeling of not being satisfied. I just want MORE.
(Just like to say, I would honestly LOVE to read a book about Jeff. I loved him, his character and his humour.)
The story was good enough to finish cover to cover but it was not that memorable of a story. In fact, I had to sift through the book again just to write this review.
The writing was….acceptable. I have to admit that I am very particular about writing styles. I want the author to give the readers a chance to exercise their deductive reasoning skills. Even though this author did some spoon feeding, it wasn't bad enough for me DNF the story.
No. My problem lies with the main characters.
They were shown to have such a strong connection that, even after several years of separation, they were a hairsbreadth away from falling in love when they meet again. That doesn't sound bad when I put it that way. It does, however, when they only went on ONE date in the past.
Because the author failed to make a connection (with me at least) for the characters back then, it was hard for me to believe they had a connection now. It was just all laid out in black and white.
The had breakfast every morning together. They talked about their businesses. They are now friends.
Instead of the author showing you their attachment, she was telling you they were getting attached. How? Why? Because the narrator said so? So then, it must be true.
Okay enough bashing...on to the good stuff.
The secondary characters made it interesting for me. Like Jeff, Nicole's bad-ass driver. I found myself looking forward more to the conversations between Jeff and Nicole than between the two main characters. Then, I started to rewrite the story in my mind where these two hook up. (Sadly, it didn't happen that way).
Also, I found myself wanting to read more about Dominic (Nicole's estranged brother). This is my first book out of the series so I have no idea what he's all about but I think I'll pick up his story and see if that would capture my interest.
Ok I enjoyed book 1, but I LOVED book 2. I don’t know if I was just in a different head space or what. But it left me emotional; I had tears throughout this book.
Kim Bubbs did a good job narrating book 1 but I think she did an even better job with book 2. I felt the emotions; I loved all of the different voices.
This book is the story of Nicole Corisi & Stephan Andrade. In book 1 we meet Dominic Corisi, Nicole’s brother and Stephan Dominic’s long-time rival. We also know that after the death of Dom and Nicole’s father who wasn’t a nice man. That he made stipulations on Nicole’s inheritance.
So to get what Nicole wants and deserves, she goes to Stephan with a plan only things do not go as planned. I lovvvved the character growth of Nicole, I think she was too afraid to be who she really is. And it took a little pushing for her to see she is her own person and she can do what she wants.
She did have some help from Stephan’s family. I think I loved that best. For someone like Nicole who felt alone or abandoned most of the time. Having this big family want her, and need her. It was so foreign to her but I love how she jumped head first with them.
I was not a big fan of Stephan for a lot of this story, but he does redeem himself at the hotel. And I can then see why Nicole was so in love with him. He became human.
*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion and I am allowed to have it.*
This is Book #2 in the Legacy series and it opens with the hero, Stephan Andrade, preparing to fly to China to try and undercut Dominic Corisi’s big software deal. Stephan is bent on getting revenge against Dominic for “stealing” his father’s company years ago and that need for vindication blinds him to what is right before his eyes—the love of his life, Nicole. The heroine, Nicole Corisi, comes to see Stephan seeking his help to break her father’s will that puts her estranged brother, Dominic, in charge of the company for a year. From the get go, it’s obvious there are sparks and a strong attraction between Nicole and Stephan and I was surprised to learn they share a romantic history.
Having read the first book, I was expecting the fast-paced, red-hot romance of Dominic and Abby to be mirrored in this book by Stephan and Nicole, but that wasn’t the case. This is a really sweet romance in which the building relationship between the hero and heroine is the main focus of the story. For the better part of the novel, we experience the journey towards Nicole and Stephan’s physical relationship, which I thought took a little too long to develop given the fact that they were living together, but I loved every scene Stephan and Nicole were in together. Theirs is a romance that tugs at your heart strings and makes you want to cheer when they finally work through their problems and get together.
Again Ruth has created some wonderful secondary characters and I enjoyed them all from the enormous Andrade clan to Jeff, Nicole’s limo driver, who is a great confidant for her and especially Maddy, Stephan’s cousin, the well-meaning matchmaker; she is just too funny!
Stephan, the hero, was pure fun to read about from the beginning. He is definitely an alpha male who can be harsh, driven and unbending, but beneath the surface there is no doubt that he is also capable of tenderness, caring and love. He is a very complex man who almost let his need for revenge destroy who he really is, but he pulled himself back from the abyss in the nick of time thanks to Nicole’s love. We learn why Stephan hates Dominic so much and though he thinks it’s justified, there’s a nice twist to that plot line that I didn’t expect and really liked.
I absolutely loved and rooted for Nicole, the heroine, who is a wounded soul desperately craving love and family. I was so happy when she learned to be strong and stand on her own two feet and I was thrilled to see her grow as the book progressed and in the end receive the family and love she so richly deserved. We learn the main reason she was so angry with Dominic, which wasn’t the reason I thought it would be after I read book #1, and I must say that I had to take Nicole’s side on this issue—I was surprised to learn what Dominic had done to make her so angry, and he was wrong for doing it!
For Love Or Legacy is a truly romantic read with compelling characters, tricky conflict and a satisfying resolution to Nicole’s quest for family and love. As the book ends, we see how Jake, Dom’s business partner, will be the focus of the third novel in an intriguing way I never expected. Keep writing Ruth; I can’t wait for book #3 next year!
For Love or Legacy by Ruth Cardello Book 2 of the Legacy Collection In book 1 of this series, Maid for the Billionaire, we meet the characters in this book. Stephan Andrade is out to ruin Dominic Corisi and after failing to win the China contract he decides to use Nicole Corisi in his revenge scheme. He considers her guilty for ruining his family's business years ago. And yet he's never gotten over his attraction to her. He decides he can agree to her offer and use her for revenge against her brother while he uses her body to get her out of his system for good.
Nicole is desperate after her father leaves Dominic in control of the family business in his will. After all, it was Dominic who tried to ruin it in the first place after he left home fifteen years ago and abandoned her. The one loop hole in the will lies in the hands of Stephan. A series of circumstances change everything. Busy body relatives are determined to bring the old Stephan back with Nicole's help.
Revenge has changed both Dominic and Stephan. Abby has brought joy back into Dominic's life but having his nemesis use his sister stirs up his anger. Stephan is not the same man he was seven years ago either, and yet when Nicole is near...something deep inside him stirs to life.
These first two books were really good and I can't wait until the third one is released this summer. There is definitely romance but you also see what revenge does and how far it will bring a good man to do the unthinkable.
ชอบแนวคิดที่เล่มนี้พูดเป็นนัยๆ ว่าความสำเร็จที่แท้จริงนั้นไม่ใช่เงิน หรือฐานะบริษัท แต่คือครอบครัวที่อบอุ่นและการได้ทำอะไรเพื่อสังคม เพื่อคนอื่นต่างหาก แล้วก็ชอบประโยคที่ว่า "The great part about getting older is you realize that you don't have to impress anyone else. I'm happy with things just the way they are."
I wasn't sure I was going to like Nicole and Stephen at first but honestly Stephen's family won me over. They didn't let Stephen or Nicole hide behind old hurts, and when things got tough they stepped in for the pair. Seeing Dominic (Nicole's brother, from the previous book) also change and accept was a great continuation to the series. I love the idea that the siblings have finally found a family. I wish we'd seen more of Nicole's acceptance of her mother but that's a small complaint.
Sweet story and I look forward to read the rest in this series. Maybe a pinch too much inner dialogues but still good. No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings. Good dialogues The characters is developed in to different personalities that has me both sympathies and be mad at them. Very realistic in a fictional way. This is slow burning and sweet and I like it.
For Love or Legacy is Book 2 in the Legacy Collection by Ruth Cardello, featuring an enemies to lovers/second chance romance for Nicole Corisi and Stephan Andrade. He broke her heart years ago, but when she needs help breaking the conditions of her father’s will, Stephan is the only person Nicole can think of that can help her. The problem? Stephen and her brother Dominic are mortal enemies, and Stephen will do anything to get the ultimate revenge on him. Will love make a difference in the plan?
This book was definitely an entertaining read, but mostly because of the Andrade family who were a riot! I love Maddy and her meddling ways— so funny! Stephan came off as a self-centered jerk for much of the book, though he does come around. There are some surprising twists that offer new perspectives. Nicole and Stephan definitely had great chemistry thanks to the red bikini 😆— what a great scene! I love that this book also had some business intrigue/suspense, emphasizing a link between the books.
I received an ARC for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I enjoyed the overlapping of this story with the previous one. I absolutely loved that we got Nicole and Stephan's backstory without any flashbacks, just a few memories. But the real gem was Jeff and of course the Andrade family.
I have to admit I was lukewarm concerning this story, the reason for the three stars, I just could not warm up to both of the leads to this romance. For Love or Legacy by Ruth Cardello is book 2 in the Legacy Collection Series.
The Heroine, Nicole Corisi, is the sister of Dominic Corisi whom we met in book 1, Maid for the Billionaire. Nicole is a wealthy woman who will lose her inheritance if she doesn't find a way around the terms of her father's will. She finds the solution by partnering up with her estranged brother's rival to do it. As a pretense of an engagement becomes painfully real, Nicole will have to choose between Stephan or her brother whom he is driven to destroy. Stephan Andrade has been planning his revenge ever since Dominic Corisi unscrupulously took over his father's company. With Corisi Enterprises gambling its reputation on the success of a new software network for China, Stephan finally has his chance to take back his legacy. Dominic's younger sister, Nicole, asking for help provides him with an opportunity to exact his revenge on a personal level.
I found the attraction between Nicole and Stephan forced, I did not feel it at all. I find the author credit at writing a interesting story with some memberable characters, but I just did not as I said before warm up to Nicole and Stephan, their story or their love. I just did not care if they ended up together. Towards the end of the story I just wanted the book to end.....Their passion was almost non existent. Oh they thought about it, they dreamed about it, but that was it. When they finally got down, to me it was just ok. Nothing to write home about. So bottom line is this is an ok read. Read it to continue with the series or not, each book in the series has it own leads and happy ending. Sensual level is a lukewarm 4.
This is the second book in the Legacy collection series. I’m very glad I found this series because I am enjoying it immensely. For Love or Legacy is another riveting love story.
This is another fast-paced read, keeping me turning the pages as fast as possible. The characters are complex and the plot intriguing. I thoroughly enjoy Ms. Cardello’s writing style. She gives enough description to paint the picture, but now enough to slow the pacing.
Stephan Andrade is a complex character with many layers to his personality. He does have a vengeful side that threatens to overpower his good characteristics, but his backstory did make me empathetic to him. Under his touch exterior, he has a generous heart and the ability to love deeply.
The heroine, Nicole Corisi, is also a complex character with a mix of innocence and worldliness that helped me bond with her immediately. While she wants to be the CEO of her father’s company, she does have insecurities about her ability to lead. No wonder she has them, considering the neglect she experienced as a child, always seeking the approval of an uncaring father.
I like all of the secondary characters in this series, and it was fun catching up on the previous characters’ lives as well. If you are looking for a great billionaire series without any BDSM elements, yet still has plenty of hot love scenes with an enthralling story, then you will love the Legacy Collection. Happy reading!
4.25 out of 5. As the second in a series, this novel continues the story of two families--actually two very dominant billionaires--whose obsession with winning has almost dealt them out of the "game" of love. This novel picks up right where book one leaves off, but the emphasis is on the troubled relationship--seven years' duration--between Stephan Andrade and Nicole Corisi, sister of the hero in book one. Both are driven, one by the absolute need to smash his rival for very deeply personal reasons, and the other by a sense that she has ended up with millions in the bank but without family or friends. Even Stephan, a man who was the love of her life, has denied her aide at a critical time in her life. This novel is a look into the deep dregs of two lives that have been upended by fear, anger, and the wounds that come from people who betray one's trust. It is a really great piece of writing and a novel that keeps the reader riveted from page one. This author was unknown to me before I encountered this series, but she is on my "keep on buying her books" list for sure.
Many words could describe this book: Romantic, witty, fun, engaging…. But the description I really want to use is; un-put-down-able! This is a love story that had me hooked from start to finish. Ruth Cardello has a real gift for knowing just what the romance reader craves and delivering in spades! Her first book in the Legacy Collection, Maid for the Billionaire, was brilliant; this book surpassed that brilliance in ways that leave me in awe. Nicole and Stephan are the kind of characters that define a great romance; they are larger than life but they are also so human and flawed, that one believes in them and roots for them. The supporting characters are charming and intriguing and leave the reader wanting to know their back stories too. All in all, I strongly recommend this book and cannot wait to read the next gem in this series!
Ruth Cardello gave us an awesome first book in the Legacy Collection with MAID FOR THE BILLIONNAIRE... Hard to believe it but she topped herself with this book.. Ruth is a master of the multi-family saga... the interaction and warmth..love and even hate... She creates characters that come to life.. and you really believe in them..delightful humor.. gut-wrenching drama... Her stories have it all.I can truly recommend this book
This was book 2 in the legacy series, and it was every bit as good as the first one. Ruth brings such depth to her characters and plots. Stephan and Nicole meet again when she goes to him for help. Now add in the rest of his family the Andrades, and Nicole's brother Dom Corisi, and things get really confused for the couple. Can love be reclaimed again? Read and find out, it is a true 5-star read.
Another great book Ruth. I enjoyed it very much and I would recommend it to all my romance book friends. It was a great read and I enjoyed Nicole and Stephan story very much
