When Justine Crandall walks in on her husband of six years with another woman, she flees their home, declaring he'll never see her again. And her wish almost comes true when his car careens off a cliff in his pursuit of her. Hours later she finds herself in a hospital, faced with a terrible choice. Will she disconnect his life support because he was a liar and a cheat or because it's the humane thing to do? Or…should she keep faith that he'll revive from his coma? In the meantime, an old love reappears making the decision even more difficult, pitting her heart against her conscience. Justine finds that soon she must be with a man who truly loves her and puts her first, or honor her marriage vows.

I stayed up all night to finish this book. I'm just a total sucker for a romance novel. Especially ones that are as melodramatic as this one. I mean, come on. Her husband lays in a coma after she finds out he was cheating on her. And then a long lost love interest suddenly pops up and he's perfect. Next thing you know, the husband has been pretending to be in a coma the whole time for some insane reason. Either way, I enjoyed the story and I obviously couldn't put it down.
Justine Crandall adores her husband, Andrew but both spend a lot of time promoting their perspective businesses. Justine told her husband to rest at the cabin but decides to surprise him. She makes the trip in record time, as she opened the bedroom door, she noticed her husband naked on the bed and the shadow of a woman entering the bathroom. Realizing his unfaithfulness, she said a few choice words and rushed to the car speeding away. Andrew quickly dressed and followed her. Minutes later he lost control of the car, severed and rolled down an embankment.
Justine saved Andrew’s life but he would spend the next several months in a coma. Justine debated the suggestions from the doctor to unplug the life support against the pressure from Beverly (his mother) to spend every waking moment at the hospital. Justine’s plight was further complicated when her high school sweetheart returns to town. Dalton is a best selling author that comes to sign at her bookstore. He makes it clear that he is willing to wait until she is ready but he desperately wants to shower her with love. Will she rekindle the flame with Dalton before saying a final farewell to Andrew?
Once again, Francis Ray has produced believable characters that have depth. IN ANOTHER MAN’S BED has a new twist on a romantic tale that you won’t see coming. Treat yourself to a fast moving story involving lust, love, greed and forgiveness. Ray forced me to think about how far I would go for the sake of keeping a marriage together.
Justine catches her husband cheating on her at a vacation cabin in the hills. Furious, she tells him she's filing for divorce and drives away, with him right on her tail. He chases her down winding, steep roads, until finally, he crashes, and that is only the beginning.
Now, Justine is torn. Her husband lies in a coma, his condition and his good name protecting him from censure, while Justine plays the role of the grieved, loving wife. The doctors are trying to get her to sign the papers giving them permission to pull the plug, but she can't, not when she's not sure if she would be making the decision for the right reasons. She doesn't want him dead, just out of her life, and right now, she can't have either.
Alongside Justine, her best friend, Brianna, is having trouble of a different sort with men -- basically, she doesn't trust them anymore.
Overall, I liked this book. It had strong characters, emotionally compelling situations, and a sort of harsh reality to them. This is more slice of life than your typical romantic fantasy (in that the romance is fantastic, not that there is any magic involved). I did feel the book spun its wheels a bit in the middle, and I was never as taken with Brianne's plight as with Justine's, but overall I enjoyed it. Actually, I think it might have been a bad pairing, for a dual romance, because Justine's situation was just so much more complex and sad. The contast hurt the secondary story.
The story centered around Beverly, who's cheating husband was nearly killed in an auto accident after she caught him in the act and he sped off to catch her. As she plays the role of faithful wife while he fights for his life in the hospital, her high school love re-enters her life after his own relationship disaster. Will Beverly sacrifice her own happiness to stick by her no-good husband.
When Brianna, Beverly's best friend and attorney extraordinaire, moves back near Beverly to take over her father's law firm and support Beverly, she meets a annoyingly persistent man who she'd be attracted to if she hadn't just sworn off men. Will she allow herself to believe in love again?
The story was highly enjoyable, if somewhat predictable. The characters were very relatable and the story entertaining. This is the first book I've read by Francis Ray, but it won't be the last.
This is the first book of Francis Ray that I have read. It was very difficult for me to continue reading. I love giving opportunity and am glad that I did! I encourage readers to give her a chance to get to the punch! I literally put the book down two or three times. There were a few spots within the first five chapters that were a little uninteresting to me, but trust me when I say that those "uninteresting" things come into play by the end of the book!!! I have noticed, since I just read another work of hers, that this is how Francis Ray works. Her books may seem scattered, but it plays an important part in the way she develops the story and actually keep you on track with the story line. I will continue to read her books because she sparks an interest that I have never felt before while reading!!!
I enjoy Francis Ray's novels...what can I say. It was a sweet read. And you got two romances for the price of one. I really enjoyed both Patrick and Dalton, they were good, caring man, that knew how to love their women. Patrick and Brianna had that instant connection, even though she fought it to the end. I knew they would end up together. And Dalton and Justine, were meant to be together, unfortunately her mother got in the way of her daughters happiness along time ago, but she wasn't about to let her get in the way a second time. And that Andrew and Nina got just what they deserved and if I had been Andrew's wife I would have signed the papers to take him off the respirators along time a go.
All I can say is that I'm happy for both Justine and Brianna. They had a good ending. It was very predictable who Andrew cheated with, but I like how the pool of emotions Justine was going through was developed. Andrew and Beverly got what they deserved.
Francis Ray is a true story teller in this novel. When it first starts out, you are so certian that this women would leave her husband. I dont care if he was sick, because your happiness should be your first priority. But when I saw that this story was original and worth reading, I couldnt put it down. The ending is just as you would want it, but everything leading to the end is a pure mystery. Get your copy today. I am sure you will be very pleased and guessing the whole time.
This book was so good I read it in one day. I just could not put it down without finding out what happens in the next chapter. I highly recommend this book and I also highly recommend the author to write a second part. I will definitely look out for other books by this author! If you are checking the reviews prior to reading a book I would say "get this one". I like to read and I read many books and I really enjoyed this one!
There were way too many characters and storylines. Although I wanted to find out why the main character's husband cheated, I just couldn't muddle through all the other stories going on, so I gave up and didn't finish the book!
This was a really good read! It was a true page turner. I did not put it down until I finished. It brought to life the morals of a young woman trying to do what is right regardless of how wrong she was done.
this is a really good book. its said how things turned out. i guess that is what happens when you cheat. she was a very strong woman in this book. Francis Ray is a great author
i think this book is not interesting and should NOT be in the BPS libraries , but its funny though . i think alexandra and ranaizah would read this for laughs. Goo writer though .
The book was Amazing! I love how the main character Justine had a happy ending at the end. Bt suffwered soo much in the begining. I felt her pain and im Happy Dalton came back to her Rescue.
