Breaking rules and breaking hearts.

Free-spirited Chloe lives life on the edge. Unlike her soon-to-be married sisters, she isn't ready to settle into a quiet life running their family's newly renovated inn. But soon her love of trouble — and trouble with love — draws the attention of the very stern, very sexy sheriff who'd like nothing better than to tame her wild ways.

Suddenly, Chloe can't take a misstep without the sheriff hot on her heels. His rugged swagger and his enigmatic smile are enough to make a girl beg to be handcuffed. For the first time, instead of avoiding the law, Chloe dreams of surrender. Can this rebel find a way to keep the peace with the straitlaced sheriff? Or will Chloe's colorful past keep her from a love that lasts... and the safe haven she truly wants in a town called Lucky Harbor?

5 + Stars!!! (Edited to Add: "My Chloe and Sawyer Song")

Also reviewed at: Lady Jayne's Reading Den

HEAD OVER HEELS?? HECK, I’M OVER THE MOON!!!

I loved this book so much that I read it twice in a row, since I wasn't ready to let Lucky Harbor go!

I've been thinking about this book a lot... about Chloe "The Wild One", who has trouble saying "I love you", and about Sawyer, the sexy, stoic and badass Sheriff, who is falling... Big. Time. I've also been listening to a lot of Ed Sheeran - Amazing Album! - and this song has become "My Chloe and Sawyer Song":

KISS ME by ED SHEERAN

In the third Lucky Harbor book, Head Over Heels, Chloe “The Wild One”, the youngest of the three half-sisters and daughters of the free-spirited Phoebe Traeger, and the only one raised by their nomadic mother, has a “Home” for the first time. She’s making a go at helping her sisters run the beach-side inn at Lucky Harbor that their mother left them upon her death. But Chloe has never felt truly settled and she is frustrated with her sisters for telling her that she needs to “settle down”.

Chloe “The Wild One” needs to run wild and dance...and wants to have sex without needing an inhaler.”

Chloe rides a Vespa and has a “See ya later, Authorities!”-attitude
‘She understood that, from the outside looking in, it might seem like she had a death wish, but she didn’t. It was just that when she was in the midst of an asthma attack, she often felt so close to death that she, well, dared it. But she just wanted to run or dance or laugh hard, or have sex without needing an inhaler and possibly an ambulance.”

Not exactly a common problem, but one that often had her straddling a fine line between socially acceptable behavior and the wild yearnings her mother had always encouraged. Her sisters wanted her to stop pushing those boundaries and settle down a little. And it was that which bothered Chloe more than anything. The message was simple: If she wanted to be accepted, she’d need to change. But dammit, she wanted to be accepted just as she was, imperfections and all.’

I really connected with Chloe, even though I was known to be a “goodie-two-shoes”, not a “wild one”. Because all of us yearn to be loved for who we are, imperfections and all, and Chloe is no different. But Chloe’s thoughts reminded me of a time when I had had a discussion with an ex-boyfriend about his materialistic attitude and snobbery towards certain people, and when I questioned him on it, he said, “Hey, this is just me. People should accept that.” Suffice it to say that he wasn’t “The One”, and I remember saying to him, once, “Yes, we all deserve to be loved for who we are, but we should NEVER use that as an excuse to be rude to people, to not seek to change, and to avoid growing and becoming the best “you” that you can be”.

So while Jill Shalvis’ books have been a great source of sexy fun for me, this book, in particular, was so much more. Through this theme in Chloe’s life, it had me thinking, again: Do we need to change to be loved? How does one balance being true to one’s self against the expectations of others? On the flipside, when is being “true to self” just really an excuse to not deal… to not grow? When is being “true to self” actually a prison rather than the freedom we think it is?

Hmm…it’s getting a bit too “deep” in here…Let’s move on to some man-candy! LOL

Aaahh…Sheriff Sawyer Thompson, the ruggedly gorgeous, big, badass, brooding and oh-so-serious Sheriff, with the implacable calm, tough exterior, melting chocolate eyes, and who moves with a fluid grace. I BLAME THANK Tammy (Ms Tom Selleck) for putting the image of the delectable Timothy Olyphant, in my head, as my Sawyer, through our discussions yesterday unrelated to this book. This made for EXTRA DELICIOUS reading!! He was the PERFECT image of Sawyer, for me. ^_^

Timothy Olyphant can’t be BIG as well as badass, you say? Hmm…^_^

I mean, he’s just so gosh-darned HAWT, no?

Chloe puts Sheriff Sawyer Thompson through the wringer LOL

Chloe drives this dedicated Sheriff up the wall… and drives him to some wild thoughts, too. She pushes Sawyer’s buttons, as she brings out his wild side that he’s fought so long to subdue. They shared a passionate kiss…kisses… that both tried to forget, but couldn’t.
‘He looked down into her eyes. “What are you up to?”

“No good.”

He shook his head and ran a finger along her temple and down her jaw. A little startled by the power of his touch, she covered his hand with hers and held it in place against her. Something flashed in his eyes, an aching hunger that held her captive.

Because it matched hers. She was shocked at the strength of it, at how difficult it suddenly was to breathe. But she wasn’t shocked when he nudged her backward until she bumped against the door. His mouth skimmed her jaw, then her throat, his teeth grazing her skin as he pressed a thigh between hers.

Heat skittered along her belly, then directly south.

“Sawyer.”

In answer, he brought his head up and kissed her. Deep, hungry, tasting her in a purposely slow, thorough manner before pulling back to once again look into her eyes.

Oh, God. “Sawyer, what are we doing?” she whispered.

He shook his head. “No fucking clue.”

She let out a low laugh. “Maybe we should do it some more.

OMG… THAT KISS!!!!
(Thank you to Buggy for reminding me of it! ^_^)

SAWYER AND CHLOE BURN UP THE PAGES TOGETHER!!!

I LOVE Sawyer! I mean, all the Lucky Harbor heroes are delicious, but Sawyer truly stole my heart. As well as my panties. ^_^ Sawyer is a caring and creative lover, as he and Chloe find ways to deal with her asthma issues during their lovemaking. *SHIVERS*

Yeah, Sawyer puts a huge smile on Chloe’s face… and MINE! ^_^

I LOVED how Jill Shalvis developed Sawyer and Chloe’s relationship! Yes, they were HOT for each other, despite themselves, but what I loved most about them was how SWEET and CUTE they were together. Sawyer would totally hate me describing him, and them, as “sweet” or "cute" *LOL*... but they were! HE was! I loved their conversations as they got to know each other, loved their cuddling and playing (the paint scene! *giggles*), and loved the scenes when they were “there” for each other... Just…AWWW!!!
‘Chloe sat, too, and slipped her arm around him, resting her head on his shoulder. She didn’t speak, she just gave him a moment. Which was another surprise. She was always in such perpetual motion, always working so hard at driving him up the wall. Or hell, maybe it wasn’t hard work at all, maybe it came easy to her.

But now, right this very minute, she was here. For him. Soft and warm and caring. What the hell was she doing here anyway? And why did it feel so damn right?’
*SIGHS*

I LOVE spending time at Lucky Harbor. Jill Shalvis makes the beautiful, small beachside setting of Lucky Harbor come alive, and I loved seeing Maddie and Jax, and Tara and Ford settled into their relationships, and the ever developing relationships between the three sisters. I also loved Lance, Chloe’s best friend, who has Cystic Fibrosis. *sniffles*

THIS WAS SUCH A WONDERFUL READ! JUST AWESOME! I LOVED IT!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, JILL SHALVIS!!! NO WONDER IT’S NOW ON THE NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLERS LIST!!!

Wait… wait up. MORE sexy Sawyer images, you say? ALRIGHT THEN! ^_^

*GULP*

*SWOONS* Sawyer… I can’t breathe when you look at me that way!
‘“Chloe?”

“Yeah?”

“I’d be worth the inhaler,” he said, then forced himself to walk away into the night.’

5 stars – Contemporary Romance

Wow! I absolutely loved this!

I’ve enjoyed the previous Lucky Harbor stories, but Chloe and Sawyer are my favorite couple of the series. Chloe is a quirky, softhearted free spirit, but Lucky Harbor, her sisters, and Sawyer make her inner wanderer yearn to put down roots. Sawyer is a stern, protective, by-the-book sheriff and a reformed bad boy who’s still 100% hot, sexy, rugged, alpha male. YUM! These two set the pages on fire! The outdoor shower and painting scenes were fun and smokin’ hot! Whew! Yowza!

It’s entertaining, sweet, steamy, and one of my favorite contemporary romances of the year. 5 stars!

Here’s my Sheriff Sawyer:

Once again Jill Shalvis has made magic happen in Lucky Harbor, in an absolutely delightful, sexy, and heartwarming addition to the series. She’s given us a beautiful love story and truly incredible characters who jump off the page, becoming honest-to-God living, breathing, feeling people who I can’t help but adore.

Chloe is the only one of Phoebe Traeger’s daughters who was actually raised by their quirky, free spirited mother, and Chloe has that same nature. Her sisters love her to death, but sometimes see her as a bit selfish, and definitely undependable, but I don’t see her that way at all. I see Chloe as a unique, loving woman who doesn’t fit the expectations of those around her, nor does she need to. She has her issues, but don't we all? Thankfully for her, Sawyer can see in Chloe what she can not – yes, she's flawed, but perfectly so.

With his troubled past and his need to make amends for crimes both real and imagined, Sawyer captured my heart. So strong, so honorable, and yet so very vulnerable in ways he’d never imagined, Sawyer is the kind of hero I’m drawn to, the kind I can’t help but love. And lucky for Sawyer, Chloe sees him for the man he truly is - yes, he's flawed, but perfectly so.

For me, the thing that makes Head Over Heels such a romantic love story is that both Sawyer and Chloe don’t believe that they can be loved… they truly, to the depths of their souls, believe themselves to be unlovable – and in Sawyer’s case, even worse – unworthy of love. Watching as they came to see themselves through the other person's eyes was just so beautiful, so... I can't even put it into words.

The bottom line – As I’ve said with each book in this series… don’t waste another moment thinking about reading this book… just do it. These are romantic, sexy, hopeful, uplifting stories about every day people who want what we all want; to live, laugh and love, and to find our own happily ever afters just like the ones waiting to be discovered in Lucky Harbor.

I'm out of there. DNF @39%

There's boring, and then there's boring .
There's no chemistry, and then there's no chemistry.
There are clichés, and then there are clichés .

There's telling, and then there's TELLING .

Someone saves me from this terrible writing.

There's diversity, and then there are these white washed books where the only minorities are cashiers or fucking criminals.

"What the hell was that?"
The suspect shook his head. "No Ingles."
No problemo. Sawyer had some Spanish. He could say "give me a beer", "throw down your weapon, asshole," and lucky for this idiot, he could also recite the Miranda rights."

What the HELL was THAT indeed.

It never stops to amaze me how much power a book has, how mere words can make you feel like your heart will blow into a million pieces. It's overwhelming, and definitely something I would have never believed possible before I started reading this much and discovering such amazing reads. I will admit a couple of years ago I was one of those people who read 1 or 2 books a YEAR. And yes, I did say 'A YEAR',lol. I guess it used to be mere entertainment before, something to do with too much free time, but it got to become SO MUCH more for me. And reads like this one are the ones which remind me why.

This installment is about the last single sister, Chloe, the wild-child. I will admit she was always my favorite, I loved that she was a bit too immature, free-spirited and wild, but most of all: funny as hell. So it completely amazed me that I enjoyed this book for all the opposite reasons. In this book we see a new Chloe, one who wants to grow up, and get a more deep-rooted life, one who realizes that to have a home and people who will always stand by her side, is possible. So yes, I really had an amazing time reading about this girl who makes the best of what she is given in life and always does so with a smile on her face and a completely positive attitude. Now let's get to the good stuff: OMG what a freaking amazing hero, really. What's not to adore about a HAWT, huge and bad-ass sheriff? Sawyer was everything I wanted him to be and more. Complex and so simple at the same time, bad-boy but sweet, and definitely, definitely ALL ALPHA.
“He was in uniform, gun at his hip, expression dialed to Dirty Harry, and just looking at him had something pinging low in Chloe’s belly.”

BE READY FOR A LOT OF SEXUAL TENSION, SEXY ENCOUNTERS AND LOVELY FAMILY MOMENTS. JUST A FREAKING AMAZING CHEMISTRY BETWEEN THE MAIN CHARACTERS. You'll love every second of it.
“She didn’t understand it, but everything about him reminded her that she was a woman.”

Important tidbit:We do get to read plenty about the previous couples, which was great because I adore them all and definitely needed to read way more about them all.

I just have to say that I adore this author. I can't wait to read more from her and I'll be eternally grateful with the person who recommended her to me, although I'm sorry I can't remember who it was and be able to ask her more recommendations like this one, lol.

There's something that is such a comfort in reading a Jill Shalvis book. Her stories are consistently great. They are funny, charming reads with just the right dose of emotion. No matter what series of hers I'm reading, I'm pretty much guaranteed to enjoy it immensely. The Lucky Harbor series is one of my very favorites!

I have been waiting for Chloe's and Sawyer's story since the beginning. I think we all had a pretty strong inkling in book one that they were going to be matched up, and the anticipation has been killing me! The wild girl and the straight-arrow cop is a classic pairing, and Jill Shalvis did a great job putting her own spin on it. These two are great together, and the paint scene, in particular, gave me a really good laugh;)

So, now each sister has her man, a beautiful B&B to run, and a quirky town to call home! The best news, to me, is that this series will continue with the next book, Lucky In Love. The bad news? Lucky In Love isn't released until May 2012. Sigh. Well, if nothing else, it gives us all plenty of time to reread the first three books in the series. And, really, why wouldn't you? Who couldn't use an extra dose of Jill Shalvis's comfort, charm, and fun??

What can I say except I've been waiting for this book a long time and it doesn't disappoint.

Chloe is the youngest among Tara and Maddie and unlike them she was raised by her unconventional mother Phoebe moving all over, never having any roots, not knowing her father or forming connections, so she is called the wild-child, reckless, fun and irresponsible but still lovable.

And ever since all three sisters inherited the B&B, Chloe is evolving a bit, getting used to accepting the idea of home and family but not completely. She loves taking risks in part due to her asthma which limits her life and the Sheriff Sawyer rubs her in all the wrong ways, he is completely opposite to her, rule-follower, serious and for some reason he totally does it for her, not that she is going to acknowledge that.

But what she doesn't know that Sawyer, now the sheriff has had a wild past himself which nearly destroyed him until he learned to control his impulses and Chloe reminds him all of that. He is too dedicated to his job and shares a weird relationship with his father.

Well, if opposites attract, these two are it, no matter how hard they try not to.
I loved Chloe and her impulsiveness, her kind heart which hid a lot of hurt, which Sawyer saw. Ahh...Sawyer he was one deliciously alpha hero, caring and so sexy and I so wish he was real!!!

That mud shower scene was so hot and so was the paint make-out session. These two were totally fun and you could slowly see the bond and love growing between them and as always I loved the three sisters and hearing about Maddie and Jax's wedding plans.

The relationship was lovely teamed with seeing the sisters grow closer.

Another awesome book from Jill Shalvis.

Favorite Quote:
“Chloe?”
“Yeah?”
“I’d be worth the inhaler,” he said, then forced himself to walk away into the night.

Sawyer,
I may not have asthma but you still make my breath hitch.

First things first, if you haven’t read this series already, then I highly suggest you do. Head Over Heels is book three, so go on and grab Simply Irresistible and The Sweetest Thing before you take a ride on the wild side!

Chloe Traeger is known as the “wild child”. Her impulsive antics and stellar personality gets her noticed. And sometimes, her impulsive and slightly law-breaking ways lands her in the hands of Sherriff Sawyer Thompson. Cue swoons. Because it’s a good place to be.

My, my Sawyer is a dream come true. With his cop mentality and barely restrained masculinity, there is no wonder why Chloe couldn’t fight her attraction for the roughened cop. He’s just too good to be true. The chemistry sizzles and Chloe finds herself using her inhaler more than once in the presence of Officer Hottie.

The free-spirited Chloe has spent numerous days in Lucky Harbor now. Though she still travels often, Lucky Harbor has become somewhat of a permanent home for her. She sees her two older sisters settling down and finding love and Chloe can’t help but wonder what will happen to her. “Settling down” isn’t quite in her repertoire, so she feels like she is at a loss. How can anyone as free as Chloe accept and love her for who she is?

Meanwhile, Sawyer has problems of his own. His issues involve his father who he doesn’t have a good relationship with. Believe it or not, but the straight arrow cop was once a hooligan who engaged in careless acts as a teenager. His father hasn’t forgotten that part of his life and reminds him each day as his health deteriorates and Sawyer tries to reach out a helping hand. Instead of accepting it, Nolan Thompson slaps it away, refusing any kind of help from his son. Sawyer regrets his actions, but can do nothing else but live with the choices he’s made.

What’s interesting is the fact that Sawyer and Chloe are polar opposites in everything they do. Sawyer is straight arrow whereas Chloe follows no lines at all. And if she does, she crosses them or blurs them completely. Their relationship has been developing from the first book and I thought Shalvis did a great job of slowly developing their romance. Sawyer isn’t one to simply allow anyone to walk into his life. He’s a guarded man who keeps his feelings to himself. But boy, he’s a potent one once he reveals those emotions.

HEAD OVER HEELS is my favourite book so far in the series. Sawyer and Chloe definitely became my top hero and heroine in Lucky Harbor, so topping them will be hard. However, that is not to say it’s impossible.

I couldn’t resist reading that extra tidbit at the end for the next Lucky Harbor book! Ty sounds like another one I could fall for. I’m pining for this next book already!

I can’t help but wonder who else will be getting a book in the series! Here are my guesses:
Cute Guy – I NEED to know who this man is.
Matt Bowers the Park Ranger – I loved this little walk on moments in HEAD OVER HEELS. Plus, the Park Ranger thing doesn’t seem so far off from Sawyer’s gig. Ergo, he must be a hottie.
Josh the Doctor – I can’t resist a man who can patch me up.

Jill Shalvis has done it yet again. With a cast of heartwarming and sometimes quirky characters, she has done a splendid job in bringing to life the story of my two favorite protagonists from the Lucky Harbor series. Jax Cullen and his toolbelt (yep, still talking about that one every chance I get), just might have to move over and make room for the big, brawny and hotter-than-sin-in-uniform, bad-boy turned Sheriff of Lucky Harbor Sawyer Thompson.

If the reaction of fellow readers of the Lucky Harbor series is anything to go by, the story of Chloe Traeger aka the wild one and the youngest of the siblings and the stoic Sawyer is the one story that has been anticipated by fans ever since the publication of the first book in the series. There is nothing like the sparks that fly between two direct opposites, who somehow eventually find that amongst the differences lie similarities between them which bind them together, especially with the hotter than fire sexual tension that ALWAYS seems a constant whenever they are together.

Sawyer is a man with a tainted past; a fact for which he has been trying to atone for, for a long time. Curbing the wild side which had gotten him into more trouble than he would rather remember, it is no wonder that Chloe with her free spirited nature clash more than once, with enough sparks flying between the two of them to singe a passerby. Sawyer might not like to admit the fact that when it comes to Chloe, his legendary cool is a distant memory, and for Chloe whose gypsy-style upbringing makes it hard for her to curb the wild streak which forever seems to land her in trouble with the sexy Sheriff, saying no is not even an option.

With her sisters Tara and Maddie, for the very first time ever, Chloe feels the stirrings of belonging and makes her long for the stability that comes with being rooted to one place. But her wild adventures makes her have to work hard to turn the image around, to win the trust of her sisters and in the process falls hard and fast for Sawyer who just makes her panties melt with one well placed scorching glance.

I loved every single thing about the 3rd book in the Lucky Harbor series. It was so much fun to see how Tara and Maddie are faring, especially Maddie who always seems to be caught in one clandestine position or the other with her fiance Jax. The most heartwarming factor of these novels of course is the relationship that seems to develop and foster right in front of your eyes when it comes to the three sisters who would never have come together if it wasn’t for their mother’s will.

Next comes my absolute favorite part of the novel to talk about. And you get 3 lucky guesses, which I am betting with everything I have that it wouldn’t be hard for anyone to guess. The uber sexy Sawyer of course who just manages to melt me on the spot with his gruff and tough nature beneath which lies a heart of gold that just made me fall head over heels in love with him right from the very beginning. And Jill has certainly achieved her goal of giving Gena the big, tough and stoic hero whom she asked for; because I for one loved every big, tough and stoic inch of him to pieces. I am telling you, there were moments in the novel that I thought if Sawyer were to get any more sexier, spontaneous human combustion wouldn’t remain a myth much longer!

Chloe is not one to be missed out on either. She is the type of heroine who would just melt your heart because she is this endearing mix of wildness together with a deep yearning in her heart to belong, to be needed and to feel. With Sawyer she finds that she feels much, much more than she has ever felt with anyone, that explosive orgasm in the shower one of the best parts of the novel. How Sawyer and Chloe take care of each other with those little things that mean so darn much; needless to say Jill completely won me over with their story.

Heartwarming, toe-curlingly sexy, endearing and a whole lot of fun in between, Head Over Heels is a must read for any fan of contemporary romance and of course for the fans of Lucky Harbor series.

Another fantastic installment in the Lucky Harbor Series and I Loved It!

Sheriff Sawyer Thompson - "one hell of an exterior; six feet three inches, built like a linebacker; mouth watering muscles; eyes the color of melting chocolate; mesmerizing; a smile that should be registered as a lethal weapon; an all around general air of badassness and everything about him reminded Chloe that she was a woman! Sex with him would be fireworks, thunderstorms! And they were one spark away from a fire that could burn them both to cinders"....

Whew...I just didn't want to put this one down and this possibly is my favorite from this series!

Free Spirited Chloe...must she change everything about who she is to be accepted and loved?

I loved the sensual sexiness between these two and the witty dialogue kept me smiling.

A very hot, sexy romance, at times funny and laced with the poignant realities of life and the challenges faced when dealing with a chronic illness.

Loved it and now anxiously waiting on the next installment!

★★★★½ Loved this book! It was just what I was in the mood for – light (with a little depth) and funny. I love a small-town sheriff with a badge, and this one fit the bill. Actually, Sawyer fit everything nicely, especially his uniform pants. Ms. Shalvis writes such real characters. Loved the bantering between these two – who still knew where they ultimately wanted to go and also knew they shouldn’t. I have to say my favorite part was the

This was a lovely story about Chloe, "The Wild One" and Sawyer! The town Sheriff.

And who knew that "I researched Asthma online" would be one of the most romantic heart-warming sentences I could read in a book!

A beautiful story, with a touch more "drama" than the first two books, but given that Sawyer is the sheriff, it fits!

I have loved reading the stories of these 3 sisters, and them finding each other and the love they can have as a family, as well as finding their perfect men!

But, given that I am unreasonably bothered by details not matching, and this may well not bother anyone else ever, but it does me, I knocked half a star off for a couple of things! For example, in book one Maddie is described as having blonde hair, in this book, brown. Also in book one, Sawyer is described as "Their secret weapon" by Ford when they were kids, as he had older brothers, and hence was used to fighting them, and so, could fight back! No mention of Sawyer having any siblings at all in this book. As I say, is nothing really, but I cannot help it, details not matching up like that bug me!

4.5/5 - Review posted: Happily Ever After - Reads

Chloe snorted, and Sawyer’s eyes cut to hers. “Like you’d want to be called sweet,” he said.

“Not me,” she said. “But then again, I’m not even halfway close to being sweet.”

And truthfully, neither was he, she thought. He was big and bad and alpha and gorgeous and smart and brave and loyal…

But not sweet. Hell no.

First I have to start by saying I have a new book boyfriend crush, and his name is Sawyer. He’s been in the background during the first 2 books in this series as we watched his best friends, Jax and Ford, fall in love, and Sawyer found himself still single yet drawn to Chloe, the half-sister of Maddie and Tara, the women his best friends fell for. Chloe is a bit of a wild child, not in a bad way, but she has a hard time settling down, having grown up in a van traveling around with her mom. She is also very resistant to letting Maddie and Tara in, she’s convinced that people will just come and go, and getting attached or even worse, loving someone, will only lead to disappointment and heartbreak. But the sisters are all now committed to making their inn a success and Chloe finds herself wanting to stick around more and more and starts having plans of her own in Lucky Harbor.

Chloe and Sawyer have had some friction from the start - fun friction! Chloe pushes the edge of actually breaking the law in some cases and Sawyer is always the one to stop her from crossing that line (usually), or makes sure she doesn’t put herself in more danger than necessary. But what I enjoyed most about this book is that it’s really the story of Sawyer and Chloe finding their way to each other. There’s a bit of suspense surrounding one of Sawyer’s cases that involves his childhood friend who now hates Sawyer with a passion. But this is just a small thread in a book that’s all about Chloe battling her past and emotions and letting herself feel and be loved. Sawyer's also fighting with things from his past and has tried to be the perfect sheriff to make up for the mistakes he made as a teen.

Sawyer is the kind of hero that I absolutely love reading about. He had a bit of a troubled past, causing problems as a teen and on one horrible night was involved in a crash that killed his 2 friends and ended a friendship with another. It was a wake-up call for him, and with no support from his dad, he turned his life around and now as the town sheriff, he tries so hard to be the perfect person for Lucky Harbor. He goes above and beyond in his job and it’s wearing him down. He tries to be everything to everyone and he stops having fun and doesn’t have a reason to enjoy life, until Chloe comes around. He’s a strong, silent hero that is always there for his friends and family, even when said family doesn’t want him there, and on top of all that, he’s damn sexy. How can you not love a guy like this?

Chloe stood there, her back to their little circle, lit by the glow of the flames as she squinted to see into the woods. She was waiting, the concern etched on her face.

For him.

That was different. He’s always been the one to look after people and wasn’t used to it going the other way. And yet he could see it plain as day. Tough as she was, she let her emotions show, every single one of them.

He wasn’t good at that and didn’t want to be. He hadn’t managed to stay alive on the job by being an open book. Anything he felt, he kept to himself. And actually, sometimes he wasn’t sure he even had any emotions to hide.

But all he had to do was look at Chloe and know that he did. He had way too many feelings. It’d been a damn long time since he’d let anything penetrate, but she’d gotten through. In fact, what he felt for her had invaded his life.

Chloe has been struggling to fit in to the family her sisters are trying to make in Lucky Harbor. She’s always been a wanderer and actually having roots somewhere and staying for the long haul is a horribly scary prospect for her and she fights it initially. She helps out at the inn, still travels as she builds up her spa business, but she starts to have these crazy plans, crazy for her, of opening up a spa at the inn and making a long term commitment. The sisters aren’t too sure at first, they’re not convinced that Chloe will really stick around, but she sets out to prove that this is something she can commit to. It’s really the start of her looking at her life differently and she begins to let people in a little bit more when she had been so used to keeping everyone at arms length.

Chloe is sarcastic, uses humor to lighten any situation and she had me laughing through the whole book. She brings fun and energy into Sawyer’s life and together they were such an enjoyable, sexy couple to read about. Chloe battles with severe asthma, and one of the sweetest scenes was when they were in bed and Sawyer tells her that he researched asthma and learned about ways they could still be together without compromising her health and breathing. It was beyond sweet and it was nice to see that her asthma isn’t something that’s pushed aside in the story, it’s a big issue for Chloe and with Sawyer’s help, she’s able to enjoy moments that she had never thought possible.

He raised a challenging brow. He was sprawled beneath her wearing only his uniform trousers, his body warm and strong, his every muscle taut. God, so many muscles. Even his feet were sexy. Lord, she had it bad. “I could look at you all day,” she whispered.

A flicker of surprise came into his eyes and then heat. “Look all you want,” he said. “But first let me-“ He let go of the headboard to adjust himself with a grimace.

“Yeah, those pants do look pretty uncomfortable.” Batting his hand away, she popped open the button herself.

“Careful,” he said when she reached for the zipper.

“Easy, Sheriff. This won’t hurt a bit.”

One thing that the story kept counting down to was Chloe actually saying out loud “I love you” to someone…anyone really. She has a hard time expressing her emotions and one passage that really stood out to me was when she talked about why saying those words is hard for her. And you know that when she says them, be it to Sawyer or her sisters, it was going to have not only a big impact on Chloe, but to those around her.

Jill Shalvis writes couples so well, and the humor and love between Sawyer and Chloe grabbed me from the beginning, but I also love the way the sisters are written. They have some touching and hilarious scenes, and even as they get closer as the book goes on, Chloe doesn’t lose that sarcastic edge. While we can see that Chloe is changing, wanting things that she’s never wanted before with regards to her family and the inn, she’s still Chloe deep down and doesn’t think twice about giving a wet willy to someone or driving her drunk sisters up to the mud springs for a little midnight dip.

This is a wonderful addition to the Lucky Harbor series and while I’m sad to see the sisters stories come to an end, I’m so happy that Shalvis is keeping the small town series going with more books coming next year. There are a few characters that show up in HEAD OVER HEELS that I’d love to know more about. Amy, who works at Eat Me, the local diner and “Cute Guy”…who wouldn’t be curious about a guy who’s only known in the town as “Cute Guy”?! This book is going on the keeper shelf and I already can’t wait to reread and enjoy it again.

I thought the first in the series was really good and gave it 4.5 stars. I also liked the second one but not quite as much as the first so it got awarded 4 stars but I have to say this one was the best and totally deserves the 5 star rating.

I loved both of the main characters - both of them was desperately screaming out for someone to love them and accept them for who they were. In the beginning Chloe was worried that Sawyer was too much of a 'straight laced' person and could never accept her wild impulsive personality but as it turned out deep down he was exactly the same and had been a tearaway in his youth.

Out of all the 3 men Sawyer had me drooling the most. Once you got past his outer protective barrier he was everything you would want in a man and definately suited to a woman like Chloe. I was really pleased to see both of them get their HEA and looking forward to hearing more about them in the next installment which is due out next year. Once it's release date arrives it will definately be on my priority wish list!

I also loved reading about Lance and it was quite a sad story but he was like Chloe in that he faced life head on. I was really really glad to see him find someone who could love him and choose to be with him despite the fact that due to his health he didn't have the usual alpha/muscular physique and he had a death sentance hanging over his head.

Can't wait for Lucky in Lovewhich is due to be released May next year.

Lots of swooning.

I didn’t even write reviews for Simply Irresistible and The Sweetest Thing as all I wanted to do was keep reading. That’s how smitten with Jill Shalvis’ writing I am.

Head Over Heels is my favourite so far, I floved Sawyer and Chloe and I’m off to continue my binge. See you on the other side (at the rate I’m going, tomorrow).

Is there enough room in Lucky Harbor for so many dreamy heroes? Well, at least one of them needs to relocate to my town. lol

Third in the Lucky Harbor series and as awesome as the first two. Chloe is the wild child of the bunch and has avoided commitment and relationships. Unfortunately, in Lucky Harbor, she can't avoid Sawyer, the local law enforcement. I wasn't sure how much I'd like Chloe with her carefree and wild ways. But I did like her. A lot. But I loved Sawyer even more. I didn't think it could get better than Jax and Ford but Sawyer is tied in first place with Jax and Ford a very close 2nd.

Loved this book. Love this series so much. Chloe and Sawyer were hot and funny and poignant. I didn't want the book to end. Jill writes the best characters ever, always hooking me from the first page and keeping me there right up til the end.

Always moving from place to place, Chloe is surprised to find that she's actually starting to feel ties to the quaint town of Lucky Harbor. It's only been a short time since she's made the decision to take on the bed and breakfast with her sisters, and what started out as an awkward relationship, is quickly turning into one that she can't live without. She still finds herself getting into sticky situations that find her face to face with the big bad (and incredibly sexy) town sheriff, Sawyer. What she doesn't expect is to find herself being drawn to him in a way that she can't explain.

Lucky Harbor loves Sawyer and are incredibly protective of him and his less than stellar past. Sawyer has never been able to get past his rocky teen years where he caused quite a bit of trouble. What's even more ironic is he finds himself incredibly attracted to the town's current trouble-maker, Chloe. Chloe makes Sawyer feel things he hasn't before, but will he be able to let go completely with her.

These books just keep getting better and better! Out of the three I've read so far, this one is my favorite.

I love the individual characteristics of each sister. Ms. Shalvis does an excellent job of giving each sister her own identity and it's impossible not to love them all. When reading each story, I found it so easy to identify with each of them. Being a southern belle myself, I found so many similarities between myself and Tara, but when reading more about Chloe, she was the girl I wish I was more like. I love her care-free earthy vibe and I envied her mellow take on everything. Even though, Chloe has been diagnosed with asthma, and it frequently gets in the way of her personal life, she never lets it define who she is and in fact, puts herself in many situations to prove that it will not get the best of her. The big hold your breath moment of the book was waiting for Chloe to say those three little words to not only Sawyer, but to her sisters as well. I will simply say, that it was well worth the wait!! When reading about Chloe, you know she never says anything she doesn't mean.

I am officially packing my bags and moving to Lucky Harbor. Something must be in that northwestern air, because this town breeds some of the finest men I've ever read about. Sawyer's masculinity exploded off the pages and you could just feel the sheer size of him based off of Chloe's explicit descriptions throughout the novel. Big, hard, tough, etc. WooHoo I'm fanning myself just typing about him. Of course, the author makes him even more desirable with his consistent acts of kindness and heroism through the community. PLUS, as if you could resist him, he also is somewhat of a tortured soul. His love scenes with Chloe made me feel like I had asthma, too! He is incredibly irresistible and one of my favorite heroes EVER!!!!

I cannot say enough good things about this book, and I am highly anticipating the next in this delightful series!!! Five stars!!

I was very sceptical at first. I was so afraid that Chloe's story would suck golf balls, being that she was the wild child (emphasize on the child part).

I was worried that my Sawyer would be blinded by all the flaming red hair on a hot bod that he'd overlook Chloe's irresponsible and childish antics. As I recalled correctly, she was very wild in book #1 and #2.

But after a few chapters in, Chloe showed her matured self off hence I decided that you are worthy of my ever brooding Sawyer after all. So I approved.

With the last of Phoebe's daughters being paired off, I hope the next three women in the series would be as interesting (in a flaky way) as Maddie, Tara and Chloe. No worries with the men cause we all knew for a fact that the Lucky Harbor men are all muscledly cute gentlemen (emphasize on the muscled).

Same.damn.story. Exactly the same damn story. Over and over again. Why can't Jill Shalvis craft a more compelling obstacle? What is with all the jokes being taken from bumper stickers and t-shirts? Why are some of the same sentences repeated throughout all three books? It's nearly word-for-word. Smarmy and unoriginal. I've read more compelling tales on the backs of cereal boxes.

"Sheriff Sawyer Thompson.

He practically had to duck to come in. He was in uniform, gun at his hip, expression dialed to Dirty Harry, and just looking at him had something pinging low in Chloe's belly.

He didn't appear to have the same reaction to her, of course. Nothing rippled Sawyer's implacable calm or got past that tough exterior. And he did have a hell of an exterior. At six feet three inches, he was built like a linebacker. But in a stunning defiance of physics, he usually had a way of moving all those mouth-watering muscles with an easy, male, fluid grace that would make an extreme fighter jealous."

Chloe Traeger was one of three sisters who inherited an Inn and turned it into a B&B. She was nicknamed the wild child. While her sisters were raised by their fathers, she was raised by a mom who didn't stay for long in one place. Chloe never formed an attachment to anyone or anything. Setting down roots anywhere just didn't seem to be in her genetic makeup. Plus, she was the type of person who did what she wanted regardless of the consequences, hence her wild child nickname.

Sawyer Thompson, the town sheriff, was a by the book type of guy. Not even the town gossip, Lucille, who sported a Facebook page dedicated to the town's latest gossip, had anything on him. While most would see him as a great catch, many a relationship had been thwarted due to his crazy and time consuming work schedule and his dedication to his job.

She wasn't above breaking the law for a good cause while he was a stickler for the rules. Maybe it was the lure of being cuffed that drew her to him or the thought of seeing him lose control. Maybe it was her wildness that attracted him to her or the thought of taming her wild ways. They were like oil and water. But opposites do attract...

What makes a romance great as opposed to good? Well, many things. To make a good romance the reader has to be able to relate to or identify with the characters, the story has to be believable, there should be some suspense or conflict to keep the reader's attention, and, of course, there has to be chemistry between the characters. To make a great romance, however, I feel it needs to have something more. That little something that makes you think back to the story and wish it hadn't ended. Makes you remember certain parts with a smile on your face. A great romance doesn't have to have a hot and steamy loves scenes (although you won't ever find me complaining about them and thankfully this one has them), but it has to touch you in a way that makes you take an inner sigh. Well, this one's got all that and then some.

A truly delightful read that had me chuckling while reading it. A story not only about romance, but the relationship only a group of sisters can have. I truly enjoyed all the characters and the way they interacted with each other.

Chloe was a fun character who was coming to grips with the fact she wasn't alone any more. She was beginning to feel like she'd come home, but no one seemed to believe the "wild child" could settle down. I loved the fact Chloe and Sawyer were the last to realize they would make a good match.

Sawyer was a great and sexy character. He had some inner demons and insecurities to deal with, but really came through for Chloe when it mattered. My favorite scene was when the painting got a little out of hand. You'll have to read the book to know what I'm talking about. It was too funny.

Throughout the story Jill planted lots of extras. One such extra she added were words of wisdom which Chloe imparts at the head of each chapter. I have to admit I often ignore those, but these were all gems. Examples of some of my favorites:
- “Why was man created before woman? Because you always need a rough draft before the final copy.”
- "They say money talks, but all mine ever says is 'good-bye, sucker'."
- “I’ve always wanted to be somebody. I should have been more specific.”

Another little extra is included at the end of the book. Chloe works at a lot of spas and sells her wares. Included at the end of the book is a recipe for Chloe's Strawberry/Banana Oatmeal Face Mask. I might have to try this one.

Throughout the story Chloe uses a magic 8 ball app to ask questions. Well, the publisher or perhaps Ms. Shalvis created a free 'Ask Chloe' app. I downloaded it to my phone and found it a nice addition to my rather large collection of apps. You ask it a question and then shake your phone and it gives you an answer. Very cute.

On the Lisarenee Romance Rating Scale, this one gets a STEAM rating - too hot for a fan, but you still have a handle on things. You should use extreme caution when reading a book with this rating in public. People may inquire as to why you look flustered and flushed. Overall, I gave this one a 5 out of 5 roses. I felt it was a wonderfully lighthearted read that had a nice blend of romance, humor, and drama. Definitely going on my keeper shelf. I highly recommend this one.

Ahhh…it was so good to be back in Lucky Harbor. Everything feels so familiar and I just love that. It’s like I’m a part of the story. I WISH!! The delightful, quirky Chloe was perfect for the sexy, scrumptious Sawyer, my hero! She sure knows how to push his buttons, and I think he rather enjoys it, especially when those buttons lead to naked!! Always zipping around on her Vespa doing who knows what and Sawyer’s always there to catch her when she falls. A great couple with terrific chemistry.

I love the talks that the 3 sisters have, so real and heartwarming. Maddie and Jax are still acting like 2 love-crazed teens. Tara and Ford are acting like an old married couple, but you can feel how much they adore each other. Lance, Chloe’s best friend, finds someone too. I have a hard time reading about him, yet I love reading about him. He’s so upfront about his illness and it just hurts my heart so bad *sob*, but he’s found someone he cares for and is getting some lovin’ of his own *sigh*! It was one of the highlights of the story.

A charming, delightful book that made me smile. Now that the sisters have found their men, it looks like some of the lonely residents of Lucky Harbor will be finding some love too, and I can’t wait!

I've loved the entire Lucky Harbor series, but this was my favorite. The chemistry between Sawyer and Chloe was delicious, and the way her asthma concerned him was so sweet...and also hot. I can't wait for the Cute Guy's story!

Original review at Books Are Magic

First, thanks to the Grand Central Publishing and NetGalley for providing the ARC of "Head Over Heels".

Head Over Heels is the third installment of the Lucky Harbor series and is full of fun and romance in the air. I am a fan of the author, Jill Shavis, and maybe, if you think that I am biased with this review, you have to read the book yourself to agree on what I am saying.

This installment is about Chloe - THE WILD ONE - the youngest of the three sisters and the only one, who grew up with her nomadic and free-spirited mother, Phoebe Traeger. When her mother dies, Chloe tries to resist the bonding with her sisters, but their love and care are very different from what she got her whole life from her mother or anyone else. She feels they are the anchor, that holds to her life.

Chloe, though as free-spirited and wild as her mother, is also kind and wishes to change to make her sisters accept her. In short, she tries to be a grown-up. In spite of all her ways of escapades from a settle-down life, she finds herself falling for the hot Sheriff in town, Sawyer Thompson. Sawyer is the opposite of Chloe in all ways. While Chloe always find some way to step out of the line, Sawyer is the follower of rules. Their friction from the start, although seem to started as just fun and teasing with words, soon, they find themselves seeing hope and love in each other.

When the couple is afraid to admit and realize their love towards each other, in spite of their mutual attraction and increased bonding, Chloe tries to avoid the Sheriff and tries to become responsible and helps with the works in the B&B (the inn, the sisters started together). She also contributes to the inn by starting a day spa, which she is really good at.

Soon, they find that whatever they tried, they can't be without each other. And when that realization hits, they find themselves in a series life-and-death situation and the rest is history.

And I definitely have to tell about the Magic 8 Ball App. I actually installed it and was now in a habit of asking questions to it and sitting desperately waiting for an answer. :-)

The Lucky Harbor series is one of my favorite contemporary series and Jill Shavis has definitely done it..again. Chloe is a kind of person, where everyone wishes they had a friend like her. Its a fun weekend read and definitely entertaining. Just give some Jill Shavis book and throw me in an empty room and will definitely survive for a entire day without food. ;-)

Sawyer and Chloe have been adversaries since the beginning of this series. As the town cop, it's his job to keep order and peace in Lucky Harbor, and Chloe is about the farthest thing from order and peace. What appears to be an attraction of opposites quickly changes as we learn that these two wayward souls may not be as different as once thought.

I like this couple most of all the couples so far in this series. That's saying something because Maddie/Jax and Tara/Ford both light up the pages with their chemistry.

I loved this couple because both of them needed a "home", and the home that they end up finding is not one with walls, but one within each other. Chloe has been known as the "wild one". Growing up with a nomadic and unpredictable mother, Chloe has never known true stability. As a former "wild one", Sawyer seeks to right the wrongs of his past by fighting crime now instead of making it. His relationship with his father is hard to read and I felt for this broken and hurt man who cared for the needs of everyone else's above his own.

Chloe sees this pain in him, and gradually worms her way into his life (and his heart). There is one scene in particular where Sawyer goes to the hospital to be with his dad and Chloe shows up so he won't be alone. Another scene involves paint and too much wine... I was alternating between scenes that made me cry from sadness and others that made me cry from laughter:) I love books where I experience a multitude of emotions and Head Over Heels definitely fits that bill.

I love Lucky Harbor, I love this family of sisters, and these guys......well Jill Shalvis has her finger on the pulse of a woman's fantasy guy because all three guys in this series would work for me!

Awesome book (and series!)

This is Chloe and Sawyer's story,

We get to discover more about Sawyer. They start spending time together but Sawyer gets nervous of getting physical with Chloe with her condition which annoys Chloe.

Together they are great but with these two how long will it last before they bicker again?

I am enjoying this series very much.

More of my reviews @ www.obsessionwithbooks.blogspot.com

Head Over Heels was kindly provided by Netgalley for Forever Publishing.

I have eagerly been awaiting Head Over Heels, the 3rd book in the Lucky Harbor Series; the series revolving around 3 half sisters Tara, Maddie and youngest sister Chloe who were reunited after the death of their mother and now run the Lucky Harbor B&B.

Head Over Heels is youngest sister Chloe story; she has earned the reputation as a wild child by generally acting without thought and pays for it after the fact but she knows if she is going to be respected by her sisters as well as other members of Lucky Harbor then she needs to change her wayward ways especially since she has set her sights on a business opportunity she hopes to succeed.

Sheriff Sawyer Thompson lives by the book and works himself to the bone. He is well known and loved by all in the small town but is often tried and tempted by Chloe and her rebellious ways. He also has a past of his own that has shaped him into the person he now is.

I absolutely adored Sawyer and Chloe, she grated on his nerves time and time again but boy was there chemistry and attraction between them, I thought the way he researched her asthma was so sweet and endearing and he was certainly tolerant of her rebellious streak but still accepted her for who she was. Sawyer is everything I love in a male lead - gorgeous, intelligent, understanding and caring and Chloe’s antics are classic, I love her carefree personality.

This story took us on a journey of Chloe’s self discovery and awareness and Sawyer facing demons from his past, I enjoyed seeing them coming to terms with each of their respective troubles and getting through them – together, they complimented each other well despite their differences.

The relationship the sister’s share has gone from strength to strength, the banter that goes on between them often had me laughing out loud and it is nice to keep updated on how their respective relationships are progressing. You can also see how their close bond has grown from the first book to now.

Other secondary characters are developed perfectly; there were a few teary moments with Chloe’s best friend Lance who suffers from CF and Lucille’s antics always leave me giggling. I hope to see more of them in the next installment.

I absolutely loved everything about this amazing story, Ms Shalvis’s writing is entertaining and flows beautifully; she has a way with words that really grips you in from the very first to the last page leaving you feeling satisfied and happy.

I highly recommend this series; Jill Shalvis never disappoints and always delivers a funny, sexy, heartfelt and enjoyable romance with wonderful HEA’s.
