Grindleford station

Grindleford railway station is about a mile away from the village of Grindleford, the nearest village being Nether Padley. The station was opened in 1894 on the Midland Railway's Dore and Chinley line (now the Hope Valley Line), near the western entrance to the Totley Tunnel.

The station is unstaffed and operator Northern has now installed ticket vending machines. Standard waiting shelters are provided on both platforms and train running information is offered via automated announcements. Step-free access is available only for westbound trains (platform 1), as the ramps to the bridge linking the two platforms are steep and not suitable for wheelchairs.

About shared descriptions

These Shared Descriptions are common to multiple images.

For example, you can create a generic description for an object shown in a photo, and reuse the description on all photos of the object. All descriptions are public and shared between contributors, i.e. you can reuse a description created by others, just as they can use yours.
