The International Centre for Birds of Prey (ICBP) at Newent
The centre was first opened to the public on May 25th 1967 as a falconry centre by Philip Glasier, a very well-known falconer of his time. It was the only dedicated bird of prey centre in the UK, and just one of two in the world, at that time the other being in Germany. Over time, and under the direction of Philip Glasier’s daughter Jemima Parry-Jones MBE Link the emphasis changed and the conservation of all birds of prey became its primary concern. It is now the oldest dedicated bird of prey centre in the world. It is open to the public seven days a week from the beginning of February until the end of November.
In March 2013 a new branch was opened at Duncombe Park in Helmsley, North Yorkshire.
For more information, see the centre’s web site Link .
