Statue of Eleanor Rigby in Liverpool
Statue of Eleanor Rigby in Liverpool
The statue of Eleanor Rigby is in Stanley Street, Liverpool. It was designed and made by the entertainer Tommy Steele and is based on the subject of the Beatles' 1966 song "Eleanor Rigby". The statue was unveiled in 1982 and was removed by the city council in January 2021 after the bench it sat on was damaged. It has since returned to the street complete with a new seat.
