Rampsholme Island, Derwent Water
Rampsholme Island, also known as Rampsholm and Ramps Holme, is the smallest of the four main islands of Derwentwater (the other three are Derwent Island, Lord's Island and St Herbert's Island). The islands are owned by the National Trust (as is much of the Derwent Water shore).
Rampsholme gets its name from the wild garlic that grows in profusion on the island.

Derwent Water :: NY2622
Derwent Water (aka Derwentwater) is the third largest lake by area within the Lake District National Park (after Windermere and Ullswater). Scenically, Derwentwater is very picturesque; there are several islands within the lake which is surrounded by high fells, and many of the slopes facing Derwentwater are extensively wooded. A passenger launch operates a regular service on the lake taking visitors between several landing stages, starting and finishing at Keswick.
