Former John Thompson boiler works, Ettingshall
John Thompson was a major engineering company that specialised in boilers and vehicle chassis. It occupied an 80 acre site on both sides of a road and railway line complex. Parts have been demolished and the rest is in multiple occupancy. The rump of the nuclear business is carried on by Ansaldo Nuclear.
This large new part of the works was built in the late 1940s with tall, well-lit buildings in concrete.
