Afon Mawddach (River Mawddach)
Afon Mawddach (River Mawddach in English) is a river in Snowdonia, in north Wales. Its source is a peat bog in mountains south west of Bala. From there, it flows for 28 miles (45 kilometres) to the sea at Barmouth. The Mawddach has a considerable number of tributaries.
The A496
The A496 is a major coastal and mountainous road in southern Snowdonia. It runs for almost 33 miles from Blaenau Ffestiniog to Llanelltyd, via Harlech. The road passes through a diverse landscape, including the mountainous region of Blaenau Ffestiniog.
