Llywernog Mine - Silver Mountain Experience
Llywernog Mine - Silver Mountain Experience
This shows the balance bob pit for the large waterwheel that was mounted in the masonry structure in the centre of this view. The wheel worked a Cornish crusher and the pumps in the mine's shaft. The mine operated predominantly as a lead mine but there was admixed silver that was worth recovering. The ore was argentiferous galena.
