The Church of St Peter was built in the late fifteenth century by Sir Robert Throckmorton. It began life as a Catholic Church but, following Henry VIII's Reformation, is now Anglican. It is a Grade I listed building (List Entry:1024600 Link Historic England).
SP0860 : Coughton Court Has been home to the Throckmorton family for nearly 600 years. Two of the 1605 gunpowder plotters, Francis Tresham and Robert Catesby, were grandsons of Sir Robert Throckmorton and their wives waited here for news from London.
