This section of Madam Lane from the Queen's Way to Magdalen Way closed to motor traffic in 1979.
Looking towards houses on Greenhill Close, which was built in 1977. The houses on the right at Wesley Drive were also built in 1977.

Madam Lane
Madam Lane is an old country lane which ran from Ebdon Road to just northeast of Castle Batch. The section from Ebdon Road to Hogarth Walk is still open to motor traffic. The section from Hogarth Walk to Magdalen Way closed to motor traffic in 1979, warranting a re-routing of Madam Lane to join to a new roundabout on the Queen's Way. The section from Magdalen Way to Becket Road closed in 1984. The former road is still used as a footpath.
