Misericord in Tewkesbury Abbey
Misericord in Tewkesbury Abbey
One of three misericords in front of the chancel screen in Tewkesbury Abbey. In the misericord a naked human figure expresses disrespect by farting, or farting could be identified with the devil and the stink of hell.
