NY8613 : The gorge of Yard Sike

taken 2 years ago, near to South Stainmore, Cumbria, England

The gorge of Yard Sike
The gorge of Yard Sike
Above the scene to the right, Yard Sike has lived up to its name in being a winding boggy, low-gradient stream across the moor. Here it has cut down in a small gorge, but there is no name change shown on the map despite its being much more of the character of a Gill (perhaps not yet big enough to be a Beck).
