Angel's Trumpets (Datura ferox)
This was another surprise find. It's only the sixth locality in Scotland where it has been recorded, and at first we assumed it was the much commoner Thorn-Apple (D stramonium). However the shape of the leaves, and especially of the spines on the fruits, are different, and the experts have been consulted and agree that it is the rarer species. See LinkExternal link for a map of everywhere it has been recorded in Britain and Ireland. It is extremely poisonous.
