A full-length bronze memorial statue of David Lloyd George, one of the most important Welsh politicians of the twentieth century
Link , stands on a square granite base and stepped plinth in a prominent position in Castle Square, overlooking Caernarfon Castle. The base has inscriptions to the front and rear in English and Welsh:
The Right Honourable
David Lloyd George OM
Prime Minister
MP Carnarvon Boroughs
And Constable of Carnarvon Castle
High relief bronze panels to the sides portray respectively the village school at Llanystumdwy where he was raised (shown) and the Paris Peace Conference of 1919 in which he was a leading figure (on the opposite side).
The statue was erected in 1921 whilst Lloyd George was Prime Minister. It is by prominent Welsh sculptor Sir William Goscombe John
