Lady Godiva is remembered in Coventry on Dame Goodyver's Day, celebrated in September. In 2021 the celebration took place over two days, Friday 19th and Saturday 20th; this photo was taken on the Saturday.

The event was revived in its current form by Pru Poretta MBE, who can be seen at the centre of the picture between the banners, dressed in her role as Lady Godiva and flanked by some of the Godiva Sisters of the Godiva Trust, of which she is director.

The sisters are Coventry women representing their ethnic and in some cases religious traditions or particular communities of interest, joining together as a sign of unity encompassing diversity. From left to right they are Indian/Hindu, Japanese, German, then, to the right of Godiva, Chinese, Kurdish, an African representative of refugees & asylum seekers, then Russian and finally Iranian (mother & daughter). In the words of the Godiva Trust pamphlet distributed at the event, Poretta has "reimagined the role of Godiva from a spectated figurehead on a horse to a strong female leader working with other female heroines from different cultures".

The celebrations continued with a procession from Broadgate to the Priory Gardens, site of the monastery founded in 1043 by Godiva and her husband Earl Leofric, and the probable place where they were buried.
