Amerton Railway - diesel locomotive and goods train
The locomotive is Ruston & Hornsby works No. 221623 and called "Yard No. 70". It was built in 1943 and worked for nearly 50 years moving ammunition at RNAD Broughton Moor, Cumberland. In view of the nature of its trains, it was built as a fully flameproof design and was originally 2' 6" gauge but has been re-gauged to 2' for Amerton. It has a Ruston 4 cylinder engine and is a powerful locomotive. It came to Amerton in 1992 but was side-lined by engine issues in 1999 and did not return to service until 2019.
