A Brown China-mark moth (Elophila nymphaeata)
The larvae of China-marks are entirely aquatic, feeding on water plants. The moth flies in July and August at night, and during the day hides in vegetation by water margins. This moth was photographed at Lindean Loch Nature Reserve.
