Cairnshalloch limestone outcrop
Cairnshalloch limestone outcrop
The hills above Patna contained various minerals which have been extracted over many years. This shot shows an outcrop of limestone close to old workings that are now grassed over. In the 18th and 19th centuries, there was a busy lime industry here with at least 3 kilns working on the Cairnshalloch site.
