Dumble landscape near Lady Well Barn
Looking down the spur between the two branches of the Thurgarton Beck, indicated by the two strips of woodland formed in the dumbles.

The rolling landscape is classic post-glaciation form. Dumbles are the deep-cut streams enclosed in ancient woodland formed originally by the post-glaciation thaw waters cutting through clay and silt deposits to the local bedrock of Mercian Mudstone.
