Social Distance Queuing at Asda
As part of the UK government's response to the 2020 coronavirus pandemic, people were urged to adopt “social distancing” which effectively meant keep at least two metres (or six feet) away from each other. Most shops and supermarkets restricted the numbers of customers who were allowed inside at any time leading to queues forming outside the shop. This shows customers queueing outside Asda where a "queuing area" has been created with chains and upturned trolleys around the outer edges of the car park. At busy times, the queue has stretched around 3 sides of the car park; not quite as bad as it seems as the shoppers were all spaced out by at least two metres and we have been subject to a month of dry, sunny weather. It remains to be seen how customers will react to queuing outside if we get a period of heavy rain.
