This view taken in Dam Street, Lichfield. Here on Dam Street, one of the approaches to the Cathedral, stands the Truly Scrumptious shop selling a variety of ice creams and fudge. Next door stands the Little Shop selling various items including bric-a-brac and collectables. The inscription on the grey stone rectangular plaque reads 'ON THIS SITE STOOD DAME OLIVER'S INFANT SCHOOL WHERE DR. SAMUEL JOHNSON WAS TAUGHT ENGLISH 1714. BORN 1709. DIED 1784.
