St James is said to be the second oldest church in Manchester with parts dating from 1275. It is Grade II* listed LinkExternal link The bell tower contains six bells which date from 1727 and were cast in Gloucester. It became the parish church of Didsbury in 1850 but is now part of the combined Parish of St James and Emmanuel. Church website: LinkExternal link
