"Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven"

In memory of Caroline Harriett Marten.
St.Mary's church

Beverley is blessed with two magnificent churches, the larger Minster is foremost, but St. Mary's is close behind and one of the best parish churches in England. Founded in 1120, reputedly by Thurstan, Archbishop of York 1114-1143 who had been Provost of Beverley Minster.
Many of the medieval guilds adopted St. Mary's and their generous endowments paid for the largely 14th and 15th century wonder we see today.
