Its listing was changed from B to A, in 2005 in recognition of it being one of the most significant pleasure buildings of the style in the country, surviving in remarkably intact condition.
It is currently being redeveloped, with a planning application for 'adaptive restoration including internal alterations and extension to existing mixed use cultural and sport building, with office extension and additional function suite to roof multi-purpose space'.
